About the Club

WVA is a private member Athletic Club. Squad training is what makes us different.
Members select a squad based on when they like to train and how the like to be coached. They train with their squad twice a week at a set time and with a dedicated coach.
The routine and accountability of squad training is what delivers long term, holistic results.

Great gym. Awesome community. Love the squad concept. Great workouts- not easy, but not too confusing or intimidating. Love the run club- I go running with them every Weds and I’m getting faster. I always feel great after going, it’s making me stronger and happier.

WVA is an amazing gym! I started relatively recently and have nothing but good things to say. In the brief time I’ve been there, everyone has been fantastic! The coaches are knowledgeable and charismatic, and the people are so welcoming. When I first started, the general manager, Mickey reached out and booked a call with me to review my fitness goals, and I’ve never been to a gym that takes the time to do that for its members. They really seem to care about helping you reach your goals! You get a great workout and a motivating community, can’t ask for much more than that! :)

Reminded me of rowing days in college - early morning workouts in the boathouse. No fancy equipment, no big TV screens, just free weights and a great community with excellent coaching staff. Wouldn’t trade it for anything.

WVA is the first time I've genuinely felt welcomed, constantly motivated, and purely "at home" in a gym setting in over a decade. The instructors are incredible, friendly, charismatic, and know how to help you succeed in achieving your fitness goals. The squad setup is really special too -- built in accountability, routine, and new social group structure that is such a nice added bonus. I was a bit skeptical joining at first, but everyone is so welcoming, down to earth, and supportive -- it's been an "I can't believe it's this real" experience

I joined WVA purely for the physical/fitness component to get back into some kind of lifting + workout routine. I've tried it all -- from expensive gyms, to cheap gyms, to at-home programs, and NOTHING has come close to the results WVA has delivered. I'm *excited* to go to the gym each time, and in my best physical shape since playing high school football. Seriously what more could you ask for?

Best part of the programming is how much *lower* the injury risk compared with going at it by yourself -- the lifts each week take into account what you're doing on the other days, so you can push yourself without worrying if you're over exerting yourself

Best gym and community in NYC! Have been a member for 2+ years and have had so much fun and found an active crowd of social and outgoing people to strive with! I LOVE WVA. It's so motivating to work out twice per week with the same group of people in our signature all black attire. Our group is very social and we communicate daily with each other outside of class. I also love the weekend drop in sessions that are definitely an extra sweat. If you're thinking of joining a gym, I could not recommend WVA highly enough!! The trainers are fantastic and not only instruct you on what to do but also when to coach you to push yourself with more reps, higher weights, etc. By working out with a "pod" it serves as an accountability measure and creates buy-in to show up every time. As a final selling point, all the people you're working out are great and it fosters a really supportive environment.

The gym you’ll actually want to come back to! It’s hard to find a great quality workout where the coach’s also make sure not only you are performing your best but doing it right to get the best output. What’s even better you don’t workout with strangers, a great place where same like minded people come for the same reason to build bonds and gains

I love everything about this gym. Each workout is challenging and fun, the instructors are wonderful (shout out to Mac, Katie, Mitch and Jaime). Dane does a wonderful job making everyone feel apart of a community. The concept of combining social events with working out is genius and I’m not sure why other places haven’t caught on. I’ve made some life long friends because of the gym. 100000/10 recommend.

I've tried dozens of New York workout classes + gyms and WVA is hands down the best one and the only that I have now stuck with consistently for a year. I hardly miss a workout and when I do I feel like there's a hole in my week! Amazing instructors, really solid programming, great music, cool facility and most importantly, great people. The community feel really adds to the workout and overall experience. Could not recommend WVA +GVA enough!

Frankly WVA is fantastic and I can't recommend it enough. It's a built-in group of friends and workout buddies that provide motivation that working out alone lacks. It also fosters relationships that other group workout classes can't. The trainers are professionals and the workouts they create are both fun and challenging. The community created by WVA exists nowhere else in NYC; the workouts, the parties, the hangs and the coffees, it all makes a big city feel much smaller and much more like home. Give it a try you won't regret it.
