Wish I could give this place a higher rating but the lack of care and love that’s put into a yoga studio is at the minimum. Front desk was unwelcoming. Cluttered reception area and dirty studio. The ceiling looks like it’s falling down. Classroom space is crammed. Not a zen yoga studio experience unless you just want to sweat.

I’ve been going to YOBK for 4 years now and I haven’t felt the need to look elsewhere. This studio creates a true community of teachers, students, and genuine people who care about you. It is a place where everyone knows your name (cue Cheers music)!
Whether you’re here for an amazing pilates or yoga class, or here to find community within a big city, this is the studio for you! Plus they have incredible teachers with all different styles. You will surely find the right instructor for you!
Thank you YOBK for always putting your community first!

I LOVE this studio! It has truly gotten me through some tough times. I'm eternally grateful for the grace and positive energy I've received from the teachers and staff, as well as my fellow yogis. The classes are amazing and the teachers really care about the work they do. Can't recommend enough! :)

As you'll see from the other 1 star reviews this place is NOT IT. I've been a member of this studio since 2021. Today they decided to cancel my membership and kick me out of the studio (I see I'm not the only one they've done this to) for asking to be refunded $10 for cancelling a class less than 8 hours in advance because something with my sick dad came up. This studio is built on greed and the only thing that made me stay so long was the convenience and the few good teachers. I wish I had never given them my business. I have nothing good to say about the management staff who are rude, insensitive and incompassionate, all they care about is making money. I recommend finding a studio that isn't built on taking advantage of students, and built on the actual principles of practicing yoga. I'm sure the owner will respond by making something up about how I've been "disrespectful" which is just a blatant lie since all I do is come in, take the class and leave. Do yourself a favor and DON'T GO HERE. Like others have said, I'll be finding where else the teachers instruct and take my money there.

Unfortunately, the instructor did a really bad job by not creating a safe space for her students. In a class of almost 8 new people, she made them either move away from the front or set up in the back. She critiqued people who wanted to drink water mid-class . She over cued positions and talked so fast and much that it was just a mush of sound. Do better. Will not be coming back.

If you ever come to the Williamsburg studio be sure NOT to come early and encounter the person I run into. I was looking to have a 2 minute conversation to ask one question. She told me she did t have time because she needs it to open the studio. She was so rude I couldn’t believe it, I had my 11 year old with me and she closed the door on us with a horrible tone. BTW there was nobody there. I’ve been going YO BK green point for a while and they are incredible amazing. I love them. I will be sure to NOT come to these studio again unfortunately. This is complete deal breaker. Totally unacceptable behavior. Truly sad.

Update May 2024: I continue to highly recommend YO BK! Over time I've gotten more invested into my practice and recently completed some of their workshops and trainings (handstand workshops, 25-hour weekend training on Koshas/pranayama/Asana, and a 200-hr teacher training) and all well high quality and helped me tremendously. ❤️
Update Dec 2023: amazing community and so glad to be part of this community.
Been coming to YO BK for about a year and a half now (200+ classes), alternating between the Williamsburg and Greenpoint locations. I tried other yoga studios, but kept coming back here. I love the instructors and the supportive community.
The caliber of teachers is fantastic. I'm impressed by how much I learn in each class. I've had classes with have all been great, I learn something new each time even if doing the same type of class. I used to have some teacher recommendations, but the more teachers that I try the more that I realize that you can't go wrong at YO BK.
In my first 6 months coming to YO BK I enjoyed feeling the progress in my body of a consistent practice, particularly with Traditional Hot Yoga classes. There were things I couldn't fathom doing at the beginning that became possible over time. After 6 months I signed up for a yearly unlimited membership, and started regularly going to other classes. It's been amazing to challenge myself in different ways a I remain a big fan. My strength, flexibility and endurance have all improved. Most importantly, I feel grounded, present and happier when I consistently go to class.
I noticed some that some people complain about not being let into class late. I for one appreciate it, it shows respect to the 20+ students that arrived on time to class by helping them remain safe, present and focused on their practice. I know it's very upsetting when due to something out of my control this happens to me, but still, I appreciate the policy.
❤️ Love YO BK ❤️

Great studio in a nice location with a variety of classes. I originally came for the 26/2 classes, then I tried the others and loved them all and appreciate the variety of workouts. Everyone is so nice and the teachers are lovely and experienced. There’s a filtered water refill station which is awesome. Highly recommend!

To say that Yobk has changed my life would be an understatement! I have been a gym rat for as long as I can remember and it wasn’t until one day 5 yrs ago a friend invited me to a studio that I realized how much more I could connect to this kinetic energy and I have been a die hard ever since! They offer such a range of classes and each one seems to have its own style be it the lighting, music … that it would be difficult to get bored. There is such a strong sense of community here and I am fortunate to call a lot of the teachers my friends. I love introducing my people to Yobk and 10/10 come back for more. Go and get your sweat on and get that bod you’ve always wanted !!

Just did the traditional hot yoga class for the first time here. What a nice place, seriously! Friendly staff and my yoga instructor, Kate, was AMAZING. She instructed the class in a way that everyone from beginners to experienced ones can enjoy all together. Easy to understand and follow, no pressure if you can’t do certain movements.
I loved that this place is very chill and not pretentious at all. I don’t like when a yoga studio focuses too much on looking so “cool”. If you know what I mean.
I can’t wait to go back. My body feels incredible!

I’m surprised that everyone who gave a bad review is actually in the wrong… The fact that a studio needs people to show up on time isn’t only common sense (where has this gone?) but one of the reasons I love to be in that class: surrounded by respectful students who come there to challenge themselves, motivate one another, apply discipline to their lives and follow basic social rules. If you can’t be on time to have fun and adhere to something you signed up for, then when are you showing up, and how?
Love YOBK, love the sweat, love the rules!

This place is the best. Simple as….
And all the people complaining that they actually uphold their rules and don’t let people come late etc makes me like them even more!! You were late and missed class and that sucks but coming late and keeping everybody else waiting is inconsiderate. Take responsibility for your actions!

PLAYFUL, PROFESSIONAL & PRACTICAL. That's how I'd describe by class with Jewells at YO BK Williamsburg. I've taken class at the Greenpoint studio as well and really enjoy the vibe here. I've never had the opportunity to take class with Jewells before and I was so glad I did. If you're looking for a challenging but good vibe studio, this is a great options. Look for Jewells name on the schedule though - she's a gem!

Literally THE WORST! They don't even deserve 1 star. I actually loved their fitness offerings until one day I showed up literally on time for class but as I walked through the door, the time changed from 7.30am to 7.31am and I became technically "late" for class. Even though there was room in the class and even though I was a MEMBER paying a monthly fee to belong to their studio with member benefits (i.e. I wasn't a drop-in) they said they would not let me join the class. Instead of rescheduling me into another class or turning this really frustrating early morning experience into something positive, they put the cherry on top telling me that they'd be charging me in full for the class ($30). The front desk person was beyond rude and more concerned complaining to her friend about her upcoming final than making sure me, their paying member was given appropriate customer service. When I wrote an email complaining about my experience, the manager Hayley cancelled my membership (with a rude sarcastic email about the studio not being "the right fit") and claimed she would be refunding my membership and the class I wasn't allowed into. Well, that didn't exactly happen! I got my cc statement and of course I had not been refunded. When I sent them proof of this, they finally remitted a refund. BASICALLY, this studio is a hot mess with people running it who have outside ambitions that don't make the studio (which has an amazing lineup of instructors and classes) a priority. It needs much better management, rules that reflect the spirit of Pilates and yoga better. Reactions that are so blatantly "rude" and "spiteful" and "negative" should never be under the same roof as mind-body workouts. It hails back to the guru Bikram's practices (who is on the run and now a criminal). As a fitness enthusiast I was honestly shocked by how poorly run this studio is, and as much as I will miss their Pilates classes, I'm relieved to never step in their studio again. If you're a member or a drop-in, I highly recommend you check your statements for over charges like inaccurate "no show" fees etc. They had the audacity to charge me for one of these after they took it upon themselves to cancel my membership. How can you cancel someone's membership and then charge them for classes a week later--THAT'S FRAUD! I also did give them the heads up that I would be reviewing their studio after my experience so there's no way they can act surprised about this review. My recco is find out where else their teachers instruct and GO THERE INSTEAD!

My first class with YOBK at their Williamsburg location was fantastic. The pricing was fair, the environment incredibly warm (no hot yoga pun intended.), and the facilities clean and well maintained. My instructor of the class, Brigid, was super welcoming, friendly, and brought a unique and charismatic positivity to the class.
I'm writing this review not just because this is probably the best Yoga studio North Brooklyn has to offer, but because of the customer service I received here. When attending my second class, there was an issue of me not being able to practice due to lateness, which, while disappointing, is understandable. Kate, who is the owner, PERSONALLY reached out to me to hear my concerns and to make me feel as welcome and accommodated as possible. Through her clear communication, poise, and willingness to help me, I have never felt more comfortable to continue my practice with YOBK.
I seldom write reviews in general, but there is something... no, a LOT to be said about great leadership and the rarity that is exemplary customer service. To anyone considering pursuing their Yoga practice further and are looking for both a welcoming and judgement free environment, look no further than YOBK. And to all of my entrepreneurs reading this review, take notes; THIS is how you run a business.
Can't wait until my next sweat session here!

They charge a 30$ cancellation fee when you cancel outside of their “window” they don’t name this amount on the warning that pops up before canceling. I canceled 50 minutes before the class and will never go there again. Also did not like the teachers prior to this.

This studio has such a warm, community focused feel to it, the most amazing, knowledgeable instructors and a variety of classes that fit my every mood - if I want my butt kicked, I’ll do Inferno Hot Pilates, if I need some balance, the Baptiste or Flow yoga classes are great. I cannot say enough great things about this studio - BOTH locations!

I showed up to YO-BK way out of shape.
I knew I needed to do something. So I signed up for the Monthly Special.
Thank God.
The teachers are all motivating and cool AF.
The classes are all invigorating, mostly challenging, and I feel like a millions bucks going to YO BK. I have done a ton of Yoga in my life and rarely feel challenged. Yo BK especially with their pure awesomeness Hot Pilates class. Its amazing!
I lost 25 lbs in just 7 weeks. I quit smoking. And I'm finally in a place where my life feels re-invigurated.
Trust me I dont want a sausage fest, but if you're a dude looking to get in shape. For anything, this is a great place to start. And the teachers will push you like you're playing a high school sport, or something.
There is no lollygagging at Yo BK.

Warning: come at your own peril...you will get hooked! 😍 I started with a Groupon deal, tried the intro month and within 6 months I was coming every day and had a different life. I love that I can do Bikram, Power Yoga, Hot Pilates (such an awesome workout) and now Yin and Hot Vinyasa too. Two locations make it really convenient. The hot room makes my winter in New York so much easier (way more effective for me than light therapy for seasonal blues)...the summer is easier too. I feel really healthy in body and mind. I love all the teachers, love the community. Sweat is the best medicine!

I rarely write a review unless it’s that good. Is the hot Pilates class hard? Ummm YES! Is it worth it afterwards? Heck yeah but you’ll need to shower and drink some electrolytes. :) The instructors are consistent, motivating in a way you want to prove to yourself you can do this class, and what really helps is everyone in there is feeling the pain right there with you. Trust me, all of us in the hot Pilates classes I’ve done here, sculpted or not, we were doing the breathing exercise throughout to survive. We always give each other high fives during the class at some point. It’s honestly a great way to say we are in it together. I can’t say enough about this class except I hate myself during the class but feel more accomplished than running five miles that day. Great way to start my week!

The studio is actually okay but a very weird set up with the bathrooms in the back of the studio and it’s pretty crammed. My two stars are mostly for the instructor, Sara who i also believe is the owner (?). She was at the front desk when i walked in and was not only very unhelpful and rude but generally exudes this elitist mentality. I’ve been to two of her classes where she’s either called someone out for leaving the room (one girl said she was about to faint) or for someone coming in late. Having done yoga across the world i will say that and instructor’s energy can really make or break a class. It’s very sad. I won’t be going to anymore classes where she is

This is my favorite yoga studio in the city. The teachers are knowledge and attentive. They push you to further your yoga practice, but always at a pace that is reasonable and safe for your individual body type and fitness level. I mix a lot of cardio into my fitness routine so I was excited when YO BK added hot pilates to their schedule. This pilates practice is a tough workout, but it's fast-paced so the hour goes by quickly. The studio itself it is open and clean. I love that the studio does NOT have carpets. Every other Bikram studio that I've practiced at has carpet, so their no carpet studio is a nice change.
