I went to this studio twice while I was visiting my daughter in Astoria.
I loved Andrea’s class!
It was not too difficult and was just right for me.
I couldn’t believe how cheap to take a class!
It was so nice to be able to take a yoga class while I was on vacation!
I’d definitely go back when I visit Astoria again!

I’ve been to a LOT of yoga studios in my ten years of practicing yoga, and this is the weirdest/worst one I’ve ever been to… instructor’s flow guidance was all over the place, way too fast, and didn’t even follow a standard vinyasa flow sequence…not to mention he was also clearly sick, coughing, sneezing and sniffling throughout the class. Someone else was also loudly SNORING throughout the entire class which was super disruptive. Studio is also not well-maintained and is obviously in a very old outdated building. Music is weird and the overall vibes are just off. Don’t recommend this studio as literally any other studio is going to be better.

I really like the variety of classes available. Unless you go the same week with the same teacher (which can be good in other ways,) you’re guaranteed to have a very different experience depending on what time and what day you come. I’ve never had a bad session. The teachers are very clear and helpful.

I absolutely love the classes with Casey. I’ve struggled with back issues and hyper flexible joints. The way Casey instructs really helps me not overdo it on my joints and to have better posture which has also helped my back. She’s amazing, make sure you try out a class with her!

This yoga studio embodies a strong sense of community and collaboration. The instructors are welcoming and happy to see you, creating an inviting atmosphere. The space is tranquil, filled with natural sunlight, and everything is impeccably clean, from the studio itself to the blankets provided. If you're seeking a yoga studio that encourages a community spirit, this is the place.

HORRIBLE experience. Came here for the first time hoping to make this a daily practice. The class was listed "by donation". I arrived just as the class was about to begin and had already turned my phone off. Informed the man at the door I didnt bring cash but would send venmo after the class it was my first time there, but he made me feel so uncomfortable insisting about giving a donation that I left. What a TERRIBLE welcome to a new student! I was looking forward to coming regularly as I live less than 5 minutes away.

The vibes, prices, and classes at this place are unmatched. Sundays are my reset days and Cassie is wonderful for that needed centering of remembering the details are what matters to set the tone for the weak. Josh on thrusdahs reminds me of my inner warrior to keep pushing and overall all of the teachers there have their own unique way of teaching which is great for variety. Clean and bright judgment free zone. Can't beat it.

Love this yoga place, im so glad I’ve found it!! Is true that they get many ppl in but everyone fits and get the workout done! I used to have anxiety for a period of time and this was my safe place, now I go there time by time when I feel to do so. Tip, you can go there earlier and find your empty spot until the rest comes!! Thank me later

This is Astoria's best kept secret Yoga studio I'm sure of it. I saw this place on classpass and my aching back craved some yoga instruction! You enter this place from the side of the building, walk some windy stairs and you are brought into a 1 room studio with blocks and mats available for use.

The class I was in looked pretty packed with like 20 of us in there so idk how up to 40 people fit, but nonetheless, it was enjoyable and at the end super relaxing. I'm no yogi by any means but if you have a foundation of knowing a few moves you'll be okay. Overall, I liked the space and I do plan on revisiting!

Even if you book and pay ahead of time, the classes are NOT CAPPED and you can be LEFT OUT... (10+ PEOPLE WERE TURNED AWAY AT THE DOOR). Refunds aren't automatic and you have to seek out the manager to ask for your refund... OVER CROWDED CLASSES... SPOT NOT GUARANTEED. The instructor was mildly apologetic, offered no real help and did not take anyone's info for refund. Aggravation, waste of cab fair and a Waste of time.

This place wasn't really for me. For $10, you get what you pay for. It was very crowded...I was being breathed on and couldn't even fully stretch without hitting the person next to me. This was on a Wednesday at 5:30pm. Also lot of noise from the street. I didn't find it a very relaxing experience.

Beautiful space with views of the street. You could be in Europe. Nick is calm and does not over chatter, no big rap about how to live. He is a nice guy and gives a consistent class. 10.00 a class. They serve the community. Great studio!!!!

★ 1

The place is unclean and tight. There is no relaxing atmosphere, and noises from the street are too loud. They breathe on you. Or even worse no space to safely enjoy yoga poses, I almost got hit in my head by the person in front of me. There are rules for the distance between each person. Allowing such an amount of people in one room is extremely dangerous but for 10 dollars you get what you paid!

I was visiting from Copenhagen and staying in Astoria for a few weeks with family. Yoga Agora was such a refreshing and welcoming space to practice yoga as I was trying to reset a bit after 2 years of pandemic related stress and anxiety. I really felt like I was a part of the community here and really love every instructors individual practice styles. I was attending 5-6 times a week and enjoyed every class. It got a bit crowded sometimes so if that makes you uncomfortable then I would try to go during off times and not on the weekend. A special shout out to Anna. She has amazing positive energy and was a joy to practice with.

The class is nice but it’s not a well ran business. There is no cap to the class reservation and when people are filling up the spaces, she should’ve known early on to stop letting non-reserve in and put them on stand by. The classes started ten minutes late and reserved people were turned away….I understand that classes are starting to get packed on weekends due to the weather but it is clearly not the first Sunday to be like this. Very disappointed experience.

A gem in Astoria. There are a variety of teachers here, but I consistently go to:
Jodi who offers an intelligent creative flow with theme for practice
Nick who's practice is straight forward- no BS and reflective of his Jivamukti background
Anna for a steady and GROUNDED practice. Her resonant voice and practice is perfect for days when you may feel vata-deranged (scattered/anxious)

Highly recommended.

Her classes are like my therapy. Keep up the great work :)

Doing yoga for 12 years in Chicago and anywhere I travel... I’ve got to tell you I just had an amazing experience. Found Juan’s All Levels class this morning— the sequence was flawless and his tone and pace was just perfect!
At 6am, he kept me engaged over Zoom, giving me an amazing workout for both my mind and body with just enough rest in between so I didn’t quit. Vinyasa is my go-to and this certainly checked my boxes for a fabulous foo.
So thankful for a taste of NY from Chi this morning. I will certainly be loyal to Juan and this studio.

So grateful these guys make yoga accessible to the community even through these trying times. They also host classes at Astoria Park and the 31 street open road. Yoga Agora has the cheapest and best yoga instructors. I was looking for something new to distract myself from worries and stress. So I was looking for some yoga studios area Astoria so I tried it because it's only $10 for a regular class. Some are donations and $12 for specific class. Now I'm so obsessed with yoga and decide to go at least twice or three times a week. By the way, yoga mats and blocks are included already. Come early before the schedule so you can have a good spot or space you are comfortable with.

Amazing. They have a great variety of classes ranging from level 1 to level 3 classes, always a great workout and great vibes in the heart of Astoria. The views overlooking Broadway are amazing and every Friday night they do live music. The prices for the classes are very reasonable for an expensive NYC lifestyle and all the teachers are incredibly well trained and accommodating to all yogis and styles, whether a beginner or advanced. They also have sound baths, gongs and do retreats once in a while. Highly recommended especially for people who are in the area. In my opinion, Yoga Agora is the best yoga studio in Queens.

A small and affordable studio. They have donation based classes in the morning and at 2 pm, important for community. Check their website to be sure.

Some teachers are welcoming and would help fix your posture. Others are grouchier and won't help you at all but they are humans and sometimes have bad days.

Great open space, a little bit noisy sometimes, making it challenging for shavasana but it is downtown Astoria.

No respect or consideration for neighbors as they throw all night ragers on weekends and weeknights, starting around 11pm and going late into the morning. As neighbors we call the police, they wait until the police are out of sight and ramp up the music again. Makes living in the neighborhood stressful and upsetting, the complete opposite of what I thought the practice of yoga was supposed to do.

One of the best yoga studio I ever been to when it comes to value ( $ vs. content). Usually classes costing this level is fairly entry level and not very structured. On the other hand you get good quality classes that want to charge you a leg and arm for attended. My drop in class costed $8 and it was a gentle flow with meditation. I’m used to hard core flow so I thought this gentle flow captured the essences of flow and at the same time making it available to a wide level of yogis. All in all best yoga studio in term of value, I’d definitely recommend to check it out if you are staying in the area.

Pretty studio on the heart of Astoria, medium to small place. Teachers are varied. I have been there many times but just today the teacher Nora kicked me out of the room after the class because I was watching a comical video quietly in a corner. I had a great yoga session at this studio. I went to an intermediate class by donation. The room may seem decent in size, until mats fill the floor and many moving hot bodies fill the space. Waych your elbows, legs, hands, butts, and heads folks! The cramped class isn't necessarily a negative tho. I found it neat to feel the synergy and collective energy from everyone, moving together as .. nearly one. There's always that one person who falls over or is one pose behind (me). Also, many bodies in small space = hot room. It's better for the flow : ) The room is on the second floor with walls made up mostly of windows and a few bright skylights. Very bright and welcoming.

The teacher had a pleasant voice and confident instruction. The flow sequences were a bit faster than I'd prefer, but enjoyable regardless. I liked the variety of the 1 hr class, moving from sun salutations to warriors, to a number of poses on the back, and stomach, then also a number of meditative ones at the end (not just one!).

I liked how it was by donation, and first come first dibs on mat space. That structure allowed my partner and I to pop in to this class easily, being from out of town and on a spir of the moment kind of schedule. I would return!

The teachers here are great. I've tried yoga a number of times before at other places, but quit because I never felt like I was doing it correctly and it just wasn't comfortable. Plus, I didn't love the traditional yoga/meditation "music." It just felt like a box I didn't fit into. So far I really like the basic classes that I've taken at Yoga Agora. The teachers have focused on really breaking down each pose and explaining what we should be focusing on to do it better and/or allowing us the freedom to move in each pose until we find what's comfortable. And they mix up the music, which I love! The week before Christmas the ending song that we relaxed to was the Waltz of the Flowers from the Nutcracker. Loved it!

Yoga Agora follows a vinyasa flow style, with its open classes demanding a basic knowledge of hatha yoga, i.e. names of common poses, and how to do them correctly. That being said, they do hold basics classes about 3 times weekly.

PROS: PRICE, no-frills set up, EXCELLENT TEACHERS — I love Rikki's understated pace as well as Jodi and Kelley's upbeat, sometimes "drill sergeant" momentum. Explore all classes and I'm sure you will find someone that will take your practice to another level.

Yoga Agora also has a sister studio in Harlem — Brahman Yoga — with the same low key intention.

$5 quality yoga classes offered at all times of day - sold! This place is so convenient and uniquely Astoria, and I love it. If you get there early and don't mind being in front, I'd recommend getting the spot in the front row all the way to the left. That way, when you're lying on the ground doing yoga poses you can look up and see the sky from two different windows. It makes you forget that bustling Broadway is just below and instead you feel like you are on vacation. Seriously, that's how I felt :) I've taken Juan's class and he's pretty great, but I'd love to go back and try some of the other instructors.

Charming and simple, this is a great little studio if you are looking for the humble yoga experience.
I remember having coffee with friends in the café across the way. As my friend complained about her current love interest, the movement in the window grabbed my attention. Desperate to change the subject I pointed up at the studio and blurted out …“That looks like fun! Let’s go take a class.” We found our best yoga like outfits grabbed our mats and walked the 4 blocks over to the studio. Once we hit the door way, I peeked my head in and thought - Hmm? ...super cute!
The rest is history…I’m hooked. I’ve transformed from a girl that coordinates “yoga-like outfits” to a meditating, Gita reading full blown yogi. I practice 4-5 times a week and consider yoga to be part of my lifestyle now. Each class is a learning experience for me. Every single instructor is amazing and has unique strengths to pull from.
Nick is fast and furious, focusing on breathe.
Rikki is a master of moving meditation.
David is a butt-kicker and inversion specialist (I’m convinced he grew up in the circus and won’t admit to it)
Anna is laid back and relaxing.
