My experience with the studio is less typical than that of a yoga student. I was approached while in distress, about a block away from the studio, by a man who claimed to be the owner. I was crumpled up, hanging on the fence of the Methodist church for dear life, turning inside out on the sidewalk. Acting out of pure empathy, George, as he introduced himself, offered me temporary respite in the studio. With no financial incentive to be had, George made the bold decision to help an absolute stranger who was just trying to get home. The value of this business in the community reaches far beyond its purpose as a yoga studio.

The studio is incredibly comfortable and cozy, providing a perfect atmosphere for practice.
What I appreciate the most is instructor, Adam. He truly embodies what a yoga teacher should be. His knowledge, patience, and ability to guide us through each session with care and enthusiasm are remarkable. Adam creates a welcoming environment that encourages growth and mindfulness. I feel more connected to my practice under his guidance, and I always leave the classes feeling rejuvenated and inspired.

y & y yoga studio is a truly legit spiritual haven! The space is absolutely stunning, filled with natural light and an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. I had the pleasure of practicing with jackie who was sweet, kind, and so lovely to learn from. Her guidance felt both grounding and uplifting. Highly recommend this ✨

I started attending yoga classes at Y&Y after 20 years of consistently inconsistent Iyengar classes. What's cool about Y&Y is that they have a range of classes going all day long; you can start your day with meditation, try Tai Chi at lunch, practice with a handful of really competent Iyengar teachers, mix in a little Pilates, and the prices are very reasonable compared with some other studios. This place has a spirit similar to that of the late, great Yogasana center for Yoga, may it rest in peace, and it even has some of their teachers, too, like Frank Ricci. I'm so glad I found Y&Y!
Edited to add: after six months of trying out different classes and teachers, I have to give props to Brynt specifically for great, sensitive, fun, thoughtful, challenging yoga (and Pilates) classes. I used to be exclusively an Iyengar practitioner but Brynt’s classes really opened me up to a less orthodox, more flow type of practice.

9am class with Claire, what attracted me to the studio was its look from the outside, sculptures and prayer flags. The class began and ended as scheduled, there was plenty of space and I felt welcome!

Worst yoga experience ever. Signed up for a restorative rope wall yoga class. I thought it would be a relaxing Friday evening into my week. To be honest, I did not stay for most of the class. When the class started, she asked us to close our eyes and started walking us through a relaxation and breathing exercise, meanwhile, a class upstairs was getting out. It sounded like there were elephants stomping on our heads. It was very loud. The people who were leaving in the reception area were speaking at full volume. No one asked them to keep their voices down. The instructor of my class hadn’t even close the door to our studio. I gave it 15 minutes but there were still people upstairs talking at full volume and still people stomping around upstairs and it was so NOT relaxing that I had to leave. The other problem was that I couldn’t hear what the instructor was saying because it was so loud in the studio. When I mentioned my concerns to the guy at the front desk, his response was, “OK“. Do not recommend.

I’ve been greatly enjoying Y and Y’s classes on Zoom in the last year and a half! The teachers always make me feel like I’m part of the class although I’m in North Carolina! And when I visit my son’s family in Brooklyn, I’m welcomed warmly by those who only know me on Zoom!

this place saved my life this summer. i had a big realization in june that took me to a very dark place i’ve been working extremely hard to come out of. shenaaz’s restore classes were one of the only lights i had to guide me out. i’m forever grateful for her kindness, compassion, and guidance.
i also want to mention liza. i haven’t taken as many iyengar classes, but she’s always been so welcoming and her classes make me feel so good. she knows so much! a treasure.
yogis and yoginis is a blessing and i owe so much to this studio.

A beautiful studio in Park slope offering all the amenities of a state of the art studio.
I went to Arturos Tuesday morning class. It was one of the best classes I have visited in my 12 years of doing yoga. Arturo is a very experienced teacher and his sequencing will leave you energized and balanced alike. 🙏

This is a great yoga space. It offers a variety of classes with skilled and friendly teachers. This studio still offers a remote option, which is great so as not to miss your class if you're out of town or feeling under the weather. The space feels welcoming, clean and has all of the props you need. The pricing is also reasonable.

I only went to two classes here, but was shocked that the reviews for this place are so high after those 2. Both classes were open level, and the first one was all handstand work. Only like 1 person in the whole class could do any of the things the teacher was asking and she wasn't offering anything for people who could push up into a handstand.
The second class had more variety, but the teacher also was not accommodating. I have a connective tissue disorder and have learned how to modify for my body's needs over the last 12 years of practicing yoga, and she over and over again chastised me for doing so. There are much better options in the area.

i've only come here a handful of times so far but love it each time! i love the relaxing and very casual atmosphere of the studio and employees. the studio space is great too, nothing fancy but i love the natural sunlight that peers in the direction that we face (a huge difference compared to many studios that in manhattan w/o sunlight or in basements). also seems very clean!

Took two classes with Arturo, I have to say it was the best yoga class I’ve ever taken. Arturo is absolutely professional, with clear instructions and changed my outlook for yoga from all the edm pumping 90 degree vinyasa classes. You actually breathe, stretch and expand your body. And I feel the most centered, peaceful self after each class.
I highly recommend Arturo’s class to everyone. Plus the studio is really clean and nice.

Just had one of the best yoga classes I’ve ever taken with Cari Friedman. I’ve taken a lot of classes over about 20 years and this was very special. Opened me up in a way I have not had happen in a long time. Very kind warm, present, engaged considerate teacher. The space itself is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever been to as well. Gorgeous Tibetan paintings, murals, and beautifully considered and designed space. Thank you!!

I was In Brooklyn for a week and I discovered Yogis and Yoginis. It was so amazing that I had 3 to 4 classes a day so I could meet as much teachers as I can and the experience was so great. Teachers are really good, all different of each other, and they all keep an eye on you.
This is for every level, the mix of yoga studio and meditation is really interesting, this is the specificity of this place.
People are great and so welcoming.
I really recommend this place !!

It is a wonderful studio! I especially enjoy the Monthly Sweet Restorative Class on the first Friday of every monthly. The class makes you feel strong and ready to face the world in a new, much calmer state. The teacher Shenaaz Jetha helps to personalize each posture to optimize the results and it approachable and open.

I have been going to Kat's Hatha yoga class and she is one of the most amazing teachers I have met. My daughter attends her meditation class for children and loves it. Please keep the kids programming going with Kat! She is amazing and such a gift!
