110 is the best hot yoga studio in Durham. I've taken classes with most of the Durham teachers, and everyone is welcoming, encouraging, and affirming. Each flow and playlist showcases the teacher's personality and creativity. Flows are appropriately challenging, and teachers offer modifications to fit each student's personal practice. I appreciate the opportunity to share the hot room with students of all ages and body types.

I wholeheartedly appreciate the focus on postural restoration and alignment-based practice. I use hot yoga to supplement my running practice, and I feel I've become stronger and more balanced in my running. I've also practiced hot yoga through running injuries and feel I have recovered more quickly as a result.

Cristina and the team have created a beautiful place for students to cultivate strength and confidence that will follow them into their daily lives. I'm grateful to have a place like 110 in Durham and would recommend it to anyone looking to get stronger in their body and mind.

I would like to begin by saying if I could give Meredith 5 stars as a yoga instructor I would. She teaches the most traditional-based approach that is intuitive to the students attending. Most other teachers at 110 either read off a written class from a notepad or go off of a class that is given to them by the owners they took their YTT from. The studio itself is beautiful, it makes you wish there were more teachers like Meredith to lead the practice. I purchased a 10 day new student unlimited package and two of those days the classes were canceled. There was no email or notification that classes were canceled, I only knew once no one opened the doors 10 minutes after the scheduled class. I was not offered a refund or a two day extension on my purchase. I will say, this is a great HITT workout, that workout just should not be called "yoga."

Transformative Yoga Like No Other

110 Yoga has completely changed the way I move, feel, and understand my body. I’ve practiced at many studios over the years, but nothing compares to the alignment-based movement I’ve learned here. Instead of relying on passive stretching, 110 Yoga focuses on quality movement and joint stacking, something I’d never experienced before.

This approach has made me feel stronger, more stable, and surprisingly, less tight. The instructors teach you how to move smarter, not harder, and that shift has been a game changer. Tightness I used to battle with for years began to melt away, not from deeper stretches, but from better positioning and awareness. It’s subtle, powerful, and sustainable.

Beyond the practice itself, the staff and studios are absolutely beautiful, welcoming with intentional spaces that support your growth inside and out. With their environment friendly products and practices, I can’t recommend 110 Yoga enough! If you're ready to move differently, feel better, and build a body and mind that will support you for the long run, look no further!!

At 110 Hot Yoga Durham, the dress code is decidedly different. Forget flowing yoga pants and inspirational tank tops—students arrive in technical sports bras, moisture-wicking leggings, and performance fabrics that wouldn't look out of place at CrossFit. It's athletic minimalism at its finest: Lululemon Align leggings, Alo Yoga sports bras, Athleta tops chosen for function over Instagram aesthetics.

The wardrobe reflects the philosophy. Founded in 2015 by Cristina Max—a former PMA Certified Pilates instructor, licensed massage therapist, and E-RYT 500 who pivoted after hip surgery—110 Hot Yoga challenges every assumption about heated practice. "Passive stretching is outdated," Max declares, treating yoga more like physical therapy than spiritual journey.

The Renaissance Parkway location reinforces this clinical precision. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, polished concrete floors gleam beneath exposed ceiling elements, and the front desk doubles as curated retail emphasizing performance over pretty. Students practice on purple mats against the industrial-chic backdrop, moving through sequences designed for "intelligent movement" rather than Instagram poses.

Classes run 95-105°F with extended warm-ups and deliberate cool-downs, concluding with Max's signature cool towelette ritual during savasana—a therapeutic touch signaling commitment to recovery as much as challenge. The family-friendly atmosphere welcomes all ages, though the approach skews toward practitioners seeking functional improvement over spiritual awakening.

The teaching philosophy centers on "The 110 Method"—sequences built around stability, alignment, and correcting muscular imbalances. Instructors provide exceptional clear cuing and remarkable asana variety, emphasizing proper positioning over extreme flexibility. Co-owner Summer Leverette's mantra: "A stable body is built through stable breath, creating a stable mind."

This isn't your typical hot yoga mill. Where competitors crank up space heaters, 110 Yoga invested in sophisticated heating systems maintaining consistent temperatures without stuffiness. The result feels more like working with a movement specialist than attending yoga class—exactly the point.

The retail component reflects this performance-first mentality. Rather than typical yoga boutique offerings, the shop emphasizes technical athletic wear suited to therapeutic practice: high-performance fabrics that move with the body, colors that hide sweat, cuts that stay put during inversions.

At $25 per class, pricing aligns with premium studios while the comprehensive approach—including amazing bathrooms with showers—justifies investment. The 4.9-star rating suggests students appreciate the no-nonsense approach.

Not everyone connects with clinical precision. Traditional practitioners seeking spiritual elements may find the therapeutic focus too methodical. The emphasis on functional movement over flexibility can feel limiting for deep-stretching devotees.

But for practitioners finding traditional hot yoga either insufficiently challenging or potentially harmful, 110 Hot Yoga offers compelling middle ground. The evidence-based approach attracts athletes, physical therapy patients, and anyone seeking yoga that translates to improved daily movement rather than just studio flexibility.

The aesthetic extends beyond fashion to philosophy: clean lines, purposeful movement, results-oriented practice. In a wellness landscape clouded by mystical language and questionable claims, Max's commitment to movement intelligence feels refreshingly grounded. Whether the deliberate approach appeals depends on what you're seeking—but for those prioritizing long-term physical health over short-term spiritual highs, this might be your jam.

The instructors know their anatomy and focus on proper form over fancy, fast, and ill formed sequences. You'll leave feeling stronger and more stable. It's therapeutic without being boring, challenging without being punishing.
If you're serious about maintaining your body for the long haul and want yoga that actually serves your daily life, there's nowhere else like 110 Yoga.

Love, Love, Love this place. The instructors are amazing and very knowledgeable. I would love to name names but I’m afraid I would leave someone out. I go six days a week and I feel awesome when I leave. They have the right mix of heat, soft music and yoga moves. Excellent workouts! If you don’t try them, then it is your loss.

My biggest pet peeve is that every teacher has their phone in their hand the entire class. It's very distracting and not very yoga like. Music changed mid- song throughout the class, demoing with phone in hand. Never experienced that before in the 15 years I've done yoga.

It's also not hot enough for my liking.

Signed up for my first class a month ago, and I haven't looked back! I was hesitant to take their hot flow class as it has been over a year since I took a yoga class in person. When I arrived at my first class, Matt assured me that this was a safe space, and it was okay if I needed to take a break. Matt's class was amazing and energizing! I love that he gave us space to be ourselves and just flow. I've been back to his class twice and to another class. I've enjoyed all my experiences and would highly recommend them!!

The best yoga experience in the Chapel Hill/Durham/Raleigh area. Every teacher has a positive and affirming attitude in their classes, and theyre always coaching in a kind manner. My favorite workout for a year now.

1) A fervent commitment to student bodily autonomy and to disability inclusiveness. Cristina is passionate about it. It's a "your body your choice" atmosphere, and therefore a safe space for all people of all physical histories to build strength and flexibility. Instructors and managmenet all honour that you are the captain of your yoga-ship, and when they say "focus on your body, you don't have to be doing what I'm calling or what your neighbour is doing" they truly mean it.

2) This is not typical vinyasa flow yoga. This is strengthening, physiotherapy-informed, postural rehab yoga. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to build strength, reduce hyperflexibility, or explore a new movement modality that may or may not help with whatever pathologies you have going on. Give it a shot for a month and see what it does to your body, and know that if you're taking the classes and don't like something, you can totally modify or skip or do something totally different. I teach anatomy and physiology and am a yoga teacher with 10 years of experience, and still learned many new cool things from Cristina, Summer, Marie, Grace and the other excellent instructors.

3) Everyone is very kind and genuine, due I think in large part to the community values of decency, honesty, and respect for autonomy that Cristina embodies and spreads. Excellent management over a good-hearted and highly skilled set of teachers.

4) Sometimes there are dogs to pet. :)

I enjoy checking out different yoga studios. This one has very wholesome vibes! I think that’s the only way I could describe it! I’ve attended only a few classes but so far great for a few reasons - the teachers take time to demonstrate before class begins. The pace steadily increases - never too quickly (IMO) - allowing you to really get in tune with the flow. The class offers suggested modifications, making it very accessible and welcoming for all levels.

I love this studio! The classes focus on proper alignment and the instructors do a great job making sure the classes are accessible for beginners, but still have opportunities for more advanced poses. The studio also lets you use mats and towels for free, and the lavender cold towels at the end of class are a nice touch. I attend classes with Summer, Ashley, Marie Eve and Peter weekly, and they are all kind and very knowledgeable. Also as a nice bonus, the location is really great!

I have taken a few classes at 110 Hot Yoga and each experience has been phenomenal. The studio is welcoming, clean and spacious.

Before visiting 110 Yoga I had never taken a Vinyasa Hot Flow class. I initially was apprehensive as I was not sure what to expect. However, my instructor, Summer, was amazing. She led the class in such a masterful way. She set an excellent pace for the class. It was challenging but approachable. Summer offered alternatives to poses for attendees at different levels. After my first class, I was hooked! I have attended more classes led by Summer and I highly recommend her as an instructor.

Overall, 110 Yoga is an amazing studio. I recommend taking a class no matter your skill level. The environment is inclusive of all levels and bodies. Also, the classes are extremely affordable and they even off free community classes from time to time. However, if the amazing environment, great instructors and affordable pricing isn't enough, the cool lavender infused towel you get at the end of each session (which after an hour of hot yoga is pretty euphoric) should make you want to experience all 110 Yoga has to offer!

The fact that 110 Hot Yoga gives back to the community by offering classes that are financially accessible is why they deserve a 5 star review. So many other studios only offer free or donation-based classes as a marketing ploy to get you hooked and then you have to pay for a membership if you want any more classes. At 110 Hot Yoga, it feels like the goal is to really offer yoga to everyone who's interested no matter your situation. You can also see this initiative through the demo they do before classes, which makes it open to all levels. Yoga studios have started to feel like a money grab and a luxury only rich people can enjoy because of having to pay so much for memberships and even having to pay for a mat rental if you forget your mat. I'm happy it doesnt feel that was at 110 Hot Yoga because they are doing it right!

Edit: Changing to 4 stars after I was able to hear back from the studio on the issue signing up for a class. They were able to guide me to the right page for the $5 community class. Also I was told they are new and had some issues opening the door and that is why the studio was closed even though the class was on the schedule.

This yoga studio is excellent and exceeded all of my expectations. The vibes are immaculate in each class I have taken so far (I have taken classes from Matt, Daniella, and Juliana and all of them are fantastic).

I am a seasoned yogi and have been a member of several studios over the years (Red Room, CorePower, etc.), but this one is hands-down my favorite. The environment is nurturing yet challenging, and I honestly can't say enough good things about it.

Maybe my review would be different if I had actually attended the yoga class, but due to covid I had to cancel. The studio would not reply after emails for 2.5 weeks, had a full mailbox (probably out of convenience) and I could not get in contact with them after calling at least 10 different times. Maybe the classes are good, but the professionalism and the communication are not!!

I am so very grateful to have finally found a studio I call home in south Durham. I’ve only been coming here for two weeks and I’m hooked. I love how the teachers actually show you how to correctly do the movements, and while these movements are not complex, you get to work all the muscle groups, and challenge yourself to work on your alignment - the foundation of a healthy body.

I love that the owner, Cristina, came from a pilates background, and also understand injuries. I’ve been to many studios that’ll just let you do whatever you want and I always left wondering - was that right? Teachers here takes the time to show you proper movements at the beginning of the class, and then let you play with it. I very much enjoy the guidance but the freedom to listen to my body as well.

I’ve seen all the teachers staying after class chatting with students, sharing their experiences on how to achieve certain movements.

Their pricing is very reasonable so definitely take advantage of those packages!

Transformational Yoga, without a doubt. I started my yoga journey after years of over use injuries, that left me unhealthy and unfit. Through the vision of the exemplary staff, I am pain free and moving effectively for the first time in years, with form and functional mobility. I highly recommend them. I took my first hot yoga class there about 10 months ago, and am now fitter than I have been in the last 15 years.

Innovative, forward thinking studio centered on “proper” body movement and alignment. Emphasis on core strength and “earning the right” to do high level poses. Plenty of different class offerings and teachers that offer unique personalities, music/sound. Been a member for 4 years and have always found 110 to be home! Owner is open minded, challenges the status quo (and you).
