I was visiting from out of town. This studio is so big and has a ton of classes with different apparatus to chose from. I wish I was in town longer to take more classes!

The Friday evening show was novel and elegant loved the story telling. And performers were great especially The solo ladies. For the broadway based ticket fee , some leeway should have been extended to entry time so patrons in elegant gowns were not rained on . Not sure who runs or manages this establishment but please consider my feedback.

Tried a beginner silks class and had so much fun! Our instructor gave us specific instructions that helped us learn foundational skills quickly. She was welcoming and cheerful and helped make the experience a fun one. If you're looking to get a bit of variety into your workout routine, try silks! I won't be committing to a regular program but I left today looking forward to coming back once a quarter.

Such a wonderful experience even if you do not have upper body strength. I am always open to trying new things and this class was amazing. I loved the instructor as she really took the time in teaching the basic fundamentals. I have already booked my next Silks class.

I am on my 4th Silks class and can say this has been the best thing I’ve done so far living in charlotte. I try to stick to Tuesday classes with Julia who is an amazing instructor! Her patience and kindness makes the class even more enjoyable. Any skill level can go (but yes you are going to need some type of upper body strength you don’t have to be the hulk but some muscle is needed) Even though I once a week I feel like I’ve learned so much and can’t wait to continue growing in my new hobby.

I was so excited when I read their website and it said you didn’t need experience! I thought I was going to have a new weekly hobby. This is just not true. You need to at the very least have good upper body strength. I thought it would be a bit more introductory. In beginners classes I’ve went to in the past everything was explained step by step. This was more so the instructor doing a move and then telling you to do it. The instructor tried to (unsuccessfully) adjust me when I struggled but it felt nearly impossible. I am in my 20s, I play tennis, do Pilates 4 times a week, so I don’t think I’m in the worst shape. It was just very hard and the expectations were unreasonable in my opinion. The other 3 girls in my group (the Lyra Hoop) had done it before; I think they should start doing one-time intro classes for ppl like me who are completely new and then beginners classes separately for ppl who have been before and just need work until they’re ready to level up. Also when I walked in, there were 2 employees at the front desk and then 1 at the desk behind it. The 2 employees in the front looked at me standing there and then looked away like I wasn’t supposed to be there? I mean the least they could’ve said was Hi? Be with you shortly? Just nothing lol. I read another review that said the same thing happened to her so it seems this is a pattern which is sad. The employee at the desk behind them saw me standing there and greeted me so I just went to her — she happened to be my instructor and she was extremely kind which is why I gave a second star. But it wasn’t introductory at all. It would’ve been nice to learn about the Lyra hoop, little exercises to get familiar with it ya know. Instead it was just like ok this is what man on the moon is, now do it. For a person who’s never done anything like that, it’s hard. Also my sister was initially going to come with me, she is plus-sized and would not have fit into the hoop in some of the moves she wanted us to do, it would have been very embarrassing for her… the website gives the impression that it’s open to all and extremely beginner-friendly and it’s just not. I had to leave early because I felt super uncomfortable not being able to do anything and in pain on my posterior thighs from the pole.

I have taken most of the fundamentals classes at this point. Its been an entirely positive experience for me from day one. Every instructor I have interacted with is patient, attentive, and excellent at breaking down hard moves in ways that beginners can understand. These classes are NOT gentle or easy. But they can be so rewarding and fun! The training environment is so unique. Its an eclectic group of people who are bonded by their fascination with the acrobatic arts. This has become a welcome new passion for me and I am reaping the many physical and psychological benefits from it. I highly reccomend giving it a try.

I took a beginner silk class with Madison who was absolutely wonderful. So friendly and personable and clearly explained things, helping multiple different skill levels and balancing multiple ladies’ needs beautifully. The facility is clean and welcoming, but she really made the experience just that much better!

Update: owner responded and offered a credit to try at a higher level. Reflected review.

I will second the review I saw here stating that this a great place for true beginners but doesn’t seem like it caters much to people who have prior aerial experience and who want to experiment or flow. AerialCLT location is really big and there’s a lot of different apparatuses. But the fundamentals class had us 3 to a hoop though, which is pretty crazy for $30 drop in. The two beginners I was with left early because we stood around most of the time waiting for instruction. As someone with prior aerial experience, the fundamentals class was far too easy and I was given no further challenge or modification. That’s really frustrating when you pay for a class and you’re bored and standing around. I read in the other review that they will meet you where you’re at and let you take leveled classes, but I was not told this when I asked if we could test out to a more advanced class. It sounded like a no to me, and you are required to fill up a sheet of checked off single tricks before moving up. This was really off putting. I’m disappointed as there’s hardly any Lyra around here. Maybe just selling open Lyra spaces would be nice for those who want to play around on their own. Would be open to trying again if this was the case.

Led me to buy passes I cannot use. I specifically asked a employee if I could use them while I could not access my account. The employee said I can but later claimed it was a typing mistake. If I would have been told the correct information then I would've bought them under a separate account. Additionally in person a different employee allowed me to use the pass for my partner so clearly they CAN they just dont WANT to. I'd say what's "unfair" is giving misinformation, then claiming to be the victim while being $240 richer. So to Madison, next time correct information would have avoided this huge headache and waste of money.

everyone is super friendly it’s just not for me, you take turns on the silk with other people sometimes depending on how full the class is and the instructor takes turns in between different groups within the group because everyone is at a different level. she can’t really help one at a time because everyone is doing something different and she has to keep everyone on a different task, it was kinda fun but I prefer pole fitness. edit; I always find it interesting how business have multiple 5 star reviews after one bad review gets posted. The review comes from not truly enjoying waiting for an instructor, or liking the set up or the sport. yes it was KIND of fun everyone was friendly but overall I would not recommend for multiple reasons, as always do your own research and I encourage people to form their own opinions by trying it out for themself.

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, AerialCLT is a 5-course meal.

AerialCLT runs like a warmed-up contortionist with excellent response time when someone from out of town is trying to figure out their aerial options. While it's hard to jump into higher-level classes (as a drop-in), they welcomed me to join their intro/entry-level class, and I also booked a private with one of their instructors to work on higher-level material.

The space was clean, and the parking was easy (when I arrived). It's amazing to see a school of this size with a clear curriculum to help train aerialists in strength and progression.

I had a great time here for my first class Sunday. They paired me up with another newbie and we both felt challenged and supported throughout the class. I was definitely intimidated at first, but after settling into class and getting a bit more comfortable I had a great time! I live down in Rock Hill, so I will probably only be able to take a class a week or so, but I am hoping to continue and grow and learn lots along the way. I'm thankful ClassPass introduced me to this place!

Great atmosphere and very accommodating to different experience levels.

I signed up for the Hammock Fundamentals just to stretch out some muscles and work on control as I normally just take spin classes. I was welcomed into the studio and was introduced to my instructor as soon almost immediately. When class started, I was shocked at how my instructor was able to walk me through each position and sequence at a level I could achieve all while pivoting to the more senior students and accommodating their level of experience.

I felt challenged, yet the goals were attainable. I felt welcomed, yet I had never been before.

Great studio and staff!

If you have never touched an apparatus, have no dance or gymnast experience, go to AerialCLT. Their programs are built for beginners that are willing to drop some $$ to learn the art. However, this is not a studio for prior aerialist or athletes that pick up new activities quickly. Even if you have training at another studio (in NC or out of state), they will start you at the very beginning. There are no placement classes here. The classes are safety and pose oriented. They have a list of moves that you must be able to complete before moving up in their classes. When I have taken classes here, I sit a lot of the time and twiddle my thumbs. If you like to sequence, flow, dance, I would not recommend training here. They don't give aerialists creative freedom to explore during classes.

However, AerialCLT has friendly staff, a beautiful facility and fun classes for beginners. It all depends on what you're looking for in an aerial arts studio.

When you get there, you’re immediately greeted and made to feel welcomed. No one has an ego and everyone is inviting. Classes for intro/fundamentals are very user friendly. I’ve never seen classes with so many different levels of beginners managed so efficiently. I know this is a hard task from personal experience as an instructor. They do it flawlessly. They keep track of what you are taught to help you build on it further down the road. I took silks and lyra. All of my instructors (3 different ones) were friendly, patient, and informative. And it is FUN. I came while on a business trip and wish I could have this facility in my town. Definitely try this place out.

I went today for a beginners class with my best friend and we had the best time! Obviously as beginners we weren’t sure what to expect but Kristen was very thorough and made sure we were comfortable before we learned a new movement. The atmosphere was one of the best I have experienced in years. There were around 6 other experienced women joining us and they offered lots of support and welcomed us. At the end there is time for pictures and videos, and many of the ladies volunteered to take photos of our moves! I can’t recommend this studio enough

Taking aerial here has been an amazing experience! I've taken at other locations before, but I feel like I'm thoroughly learning the ins and outs of each movement in a safe environment. They don't just say "keep your leg straight" they say "let me show you why it's important to keep your leg straight here". Everyone is so nice and I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

AerialCLT is a great place. I love the instructors; I have taken class with Kristin, Christine, Joshira and Katie - all of whom have been amazing. Today, was my first time attending AerialCLT and will be my last time ever coming back. I am also going to advise all my friends and family to never support this business with Kristen still working there. I came to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends and it was extremely disappointing. We signed up for the Silk Fundamentals beginner class and the instructors name was Kristen. Please never attend this class with this instructor because she's highly unprofessional. She wasn't attentive to the "new beginners" that were there, but more to the "advanced students",which I'm confused as to why they were in our class to begin with because it took away the focus from us "the new beginners". Kristen wasn't helpful at all. She would literally stand there and not be of any assistance. I never heard her say "let me help you" or "good job ladies". She only told the advanced group these things while we had to wait until she was done with them, which took a while as well. This was such a horrible experience and I'm trying to keep it brief. Then Kristen had the audacity to put her hands on me, while speaking to me as if I were a child to give me an instruction. I immediately left because she invaded my space and I didn't want there to be any confrontation. My friends and I decided to leave 30-40 mins earlier then our scheduled class ending time because we were all offended by her behavior. We left the premises and she didn't say a word to us to try to keep us there. I would like to be compensated for my troubles and my terrible experience because I wasn't able to get my money's worth due to leaving so abruptly.

I, and another aerial instructor, taught workshops here, and not only were the ladies in charge of Aerial Charlotte wonderful workshop hosts, but the space is beautifully equipped to hold lots of students, has a great community culture, and a way of ensuring everyone is progressing safely while still learning new skills.

I'll surely be back to teach some workshops there in the future!

A friend and I went in to inquire about classes, schedule, etc., and was ignored. Finally, one of the instructors said she was in the middle of class and we would have to come back--other staff members were present to answer questions, but did not respond--just kept looking at us as if we did not belong there. There is no room for discrimination, especially if you own a business.

Great! I took my first class today. At first I was pretty nervous, everyone else knew what was going on and had done this before. Once things got started the instructor was super attentive and I felt like I was getting plenty of personal instruction. I am so glad I tried aerial. I have zero dance experience and am not particularly graceful, but this was an amazing experience and lots of fun. Don't be intimidated to try. Sarah was great and made me feel comfortable the entire time. Can't wait to go back next week.

Aerial CLT has opened me up to things I never thought I could do. It has significantly increased my strength and flexibility which continues to grow. Aerial CLT's culture is warm and welcoming. I've never felt judged or embarrassed by any of the instructors or fellow students for my lack of skill or experience. Aerial is a really fun way to exercise; I don't even think about how hard I'm working out! It's also super reasonably priced and offers a gambit of aerial arts to choose from. I highly recommend Aerial CLT to anyone who's looking to either get into a workout routine or cross train.

I've sampled almost all of the different classes at AerialCLT. Aerial yoga, then fundamentals on silks, and I added hoop/lyra classes as well. Once you go, you get addicted and can't stop!

I also love getting a great, fun workout that isn't at a gym or on a treadmill.
What I probably love most about AerialCLT is the people I've met there. The instructors are all amazing people; they care about you and are full of encouragement and are so excited for you when you succeed. But it's not just the instructors. I've made new friends with my classmates and I'm so happy to have met the people in this aerial community because all of them or so kind, talented, and inspiring.
