Informed the owner and company billing I am disabled now and against their policy they billed for months of membership fees illegally then sent the bill to a collection agency.

OK gym if you're old or dont want to be around a lot of people, don't expect the owners to follow their franchise agreements rules without having to contact our AG.

Decent gym, worked out here for about a year. Did once try and ask the owner a question and he told me he didn’t own the place just worked there and he was off shift which is fine but then I went to leave and there was a literal picture of him on a poster saying he owned the place. Thought that was kinda odd but funny. Would recommend.

I was a member at Anytime Fitness for several years. I found the facilities to be well maintained and appreciate that their selection of free weights takes into consideration those who like to go a little heavier than some other fitness centers and gyms may offer. The crowds were never much of a factor but they got fairly busy around peak times. I liked the fact that they would write your name on the board for consistently attending the gym during a month driving a little bit of semi anonymous competitive spirit.

I really liked their staff, and although I am no longer a current member, I have no problem recommending this gym at any of their locations. As a fitness enthusiast and avid gym rat you will find all you require within the walls of these gyms. Thanks.

Had an issue with cancelling my account during an international move with a 2 month stopover in Wilmington. Alex was very helpful and understanding in the miscommunication on billing and worked with me to resolve it quickly. I would recommend ensuring the terms explained and the terms written match up. Terrible. Extremely tiny, most of the treadmills need repair, most of the clientele are entitled and reek of bad perfume. Even worse, when we tried to cancel we got one story from one manager saying we just need to give them a few weeks heads up, and another that says we needed to give them over a month in writing. Oh, and lucky us, we "get" to keep the worthless key fobs even though we both remember them saying we could return them for our money back. Horrid operation.

My wife and I have been in search of a good gym and our search is over! Anytime Fitness is just what we were looking for- friendly staff, well maintained equipment, clean facility, you can workout anytime of the day and the owner Steve is a very nice guy! They also offer classes and personal training. They have 2 locations and this location will be expanding over the summer. We're so glad we found this gym, we love it and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great, friendly gym!

Absolutely loved this gym. The variety, the atmosphere and the nice trainer kept wanting me to go back. I was on vacation and I wasn't planning on going too often, but I ended up going everyday to avoid getting a dad bod. Great job with this gym, I wished most Anytime Fitness gyms were like this one.

I was going to this gym at the beginning of last year then. I stopped going bc of health issues, I kept being a member though just in case I decided to go back I haven’t gone back and decided to cancel my membership I called multiple times with no response i left voicemails and sent emails as well trying to cancel no one ever got back to me I even sent them a email saying if they wouldn’t allow me to cancel I would contact my bank to stop them from charging me.. that’s what I did and I kept getting harassed about paying by a bot when I did everything in my power to cancel my membership now they sent over my account to collections it’s not fair at all and I will never recommend anytime fitness to anyone.

Tried to cancel my membership, got one response from the manager saying they can freeze the account and I said that I just want to cancel due to me moving away from the area and no longer being able to go. I never got a reply after that and they continue to charge me every month. Really unprofessional, I’ve emailed them asking why I’m still being charged and I get no reply.

EDIT: Alex at anytime fitness had contacted me after posting this review and had apologized about everything that had happen and offered me a refund and I really appreciate the fact that he took the time to call me and apologize when it wasn't his fault and he stayed on the phone with me until we worked everything out! HE DESERVES A RAISE! Very professional on his part. For those reasons I will be changing my rating to 4 stars instead of 1 star.

I've been seeing Royce here as a personal trainer for about 4 months and I am so happy with this decision. He is so encouraging and you can really tell he cares about his job and his clients. I feel incredible and the price is great. If you want a person trainer Royce is your guy. He knows how to push me to be better. I also have an injury that he is able to work around. I very much enjoy coming to this gym. I started coming here because the Cape Fear Roller Girls train here. I always hope that they would be here working out when I come in the door but, alas they have always eluded me. I Pictures of Me coming on the rollerskates and going from machine to machine doing exercises. I picture that they would be on the running machine wearing the roller skates.

I would highly recommend this gym to anyone in the Wilmington area. There’s more than enough space (throughout the floor plan and a side room for stretching, core workouts, etc), quality equipment, and great service. The manager is fantastic at his job and welcoming to anyone considering joining. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and will continue to recommend people to this facility.

Perfect little gym. They expanded into an adjoining area so it’s a decent size now. They have all the standard machines in addition to lots of equipment to allow you to do your own thing (exercise bands, chains, bosu balls, free weights, yoga equipment, etc.). Since being open during covid, the gym has been very clean and well kept. The staff is very nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

Tiny gym and fairly crowded for what it is. They have lots of machines, aerobic equipment and a large yoga studio/space but everyone uses the small little free weight section. Kind of pricey for what it is. Would not recommend unless you are trying to lift on really odd times of the day as that seemed like the only real perk.

My experience was spoiled by by the cancellation process and the way the staff/general manager handled it. Phone goes unanswered and messages unreturned. This place is great! No judgement, nobody staring at you like you don't belong. The staff is truly caring and helpful. The equipment is top notch and clean.

I came to Wilmington from New York for a wedding. I needed a gym for a few days to call home so that I could keep my training schedule. I was lucky enough to stumble into Martha. She treated me with such kindness and respect, it made me feel like I had been a member there for years, when really I had only been there a few days. Martha is a force! I would be working out and I would see Martha vacuuming and dusting off equipment non-stop. I have been to about 10-15 different gyms across the country, and I had never seen someone so incredibly dedicated to keeping the gym so clean and presentable. If I did not live in NY, I would have signed up that day and made Anytime Fitness my new home base for working out. Martha, you rock!!!!

Amazing gym, the staff is very knowledgeable and also work out on the same equipment that they train and teach classes on, they are comfortable working with people of all fitness levels even if you have never touched a barbel before or if you are a seasoned fitness competitor they have the skills and abilities to help you move to the next level at a pace that works for you even if it means pushing you to work a bit harder. The facility is clean even on weekends and the people who workout there are polite and courteous towards others in sharing equipment. This is a place that couples and individuals can find a lifestyle fitness support system.

The gym is fine however the employees are ethically questionable. I came on a Sunday, an older grey haired white worker happened to be there so I asked about the free trial for a family member. He told me "we no longer do the free trial." I told him "weird bc i just did it like two months ago." He said "we got rid of the free trial last month." I then look online and it says it's still around and then my sister in law walked in on her own two days later and he offers it to her. I'm not saying this is a racist moment for sure but it is questionable. I'm a Hispanic looking woman and she is a white lady. I just don't understand otherwise why he would straight up lie to my face! I am ending my membership either way.

Very frustrating to have no cardio equipment when I arrive due to the “rush hour” and even more frustrating to have people yelling and hollering including staff that I can hear over my headphones in full blast. It did not used to be this way and has become a disappointing experience the majority of the time.
Seems like there are too many members now and not enough space.

If you haven't at least gone in for a tour you need to check this place out. First of all its the only gym that really has that "judgement free" feel.... Secondly has the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a gym & the showers are private... I've never had an issue with the tanning beds the bulbs seem new almost Everytime I tan & I've never had to wait for a piece of equipment.
