Horrible customer service and swimming instruction. no refunds despite paying for 8 classes and only using one session for five minutes in 2022. our 4 year old kid was immediately dunked underwater with any preparation or prior warning leading to a phobia of swimming which has taken a long time to heal.

Aqua-Tots is absolutely fantastic! π π¦ The facility is wonderful, colorful, and welcoming β my kids are excited to come every week. The staff is always friendly, professional and create a safe and fun environment for kids to learn.
Special appreciation to coaches Odin & Malie β you are Super-Star-Trainers! Both have great patience and skills . My kids' ensthusiasm and confidence have grown so much under their guidance. I can say they truly cares about each student and know how to make learning to swim exciting and rewarding.
If youβre looking for a swim school that delivers both results and smiles, this is the place!

Absolutely, the best experience ever! My three-year-old was terrified and the deck supervisor, Hamsa, went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable; up to an including spending special time with him to get him comfortable with the water. All of the staff has been nothing but nice, informative, and accommodating. We have consistently had a wonderful experience every visit. Definitely recommend 10/10

The instructors were patient. Good view for parents to see and enjoy their kids swimming. Rates are high, can be considered in future to reduce or provide discounts. Referrals programs can be made with more offers. Great positive is my kid cries a lot , still never had the instructor complained on that and had been super patient with him. The scheduling classes are easy with you guys.
I had to reduce the rating because I didn't see my kid improving a lot. They don't push the kid's ability rather keep saying he had to improve train him at home, but I bring him here for that reason and kids won't listen to parents. I was frustrated and removed him from their program 2 years ago.

I couldnβt complete my swim course due to relocation, but Iβm so grateful for the time I had learning with Matt. At 38, learning to swim felt intimidating β but Mattβs patient and thoughtful teaching helped me stop fighting the water and start trusting it. His calm, clear approach made all the difference. Thank you, Matt!

Our family has been a part of Aqua-Tots Cary for the past 8 years, and I can say that the coaches are absolutely fantastic. Staff members who assist in scheduling classes and provide additional support are equally exceptional. Theyβre friendly and approachable and genuinely care about the kidsβ experience. Whether your child is just starting or looking to take their skills to the next level, we highly recommend Aqua-Tots Cary. It's been a wonderful experience for our family, with valuable feedback from the coaches every time they are in the water and a resourceful app to follow their progress and schedule make-up classes.

It is impossible to get permanent coaches in aquatots. When a coach changes it is for difficult the child to make progress as different coaches have some nuance differences in some of the swimming styles specific to them. My son is confused about why different coaches tell him to do the free style differently. He is in level 6(for the last 8 months or so) but I am sure I am wasting my money here. It used to be ok till end of 2023 but then not sure what happened. Even fast tracks (4 classes) go through 3 coach changes which is horrible. Too many class cancellations because of infrastructure issues.

[LATE POST] I have been waiting to write this post for some time now but somehow it got delayed. For over a year, we are completely dissatisfied with Aqua tots with many reasons and this is my second review, I have deleted the first review post the call with Manager.
1) My child graduated level 5 in April even before he is up to the mark. After being in level 6 for about two months and with many reshuffling of coaches as the coaches keep leaving in summer, we were finally told that he is not ready for level 6 yet as he still needs more practice in level 5 and is getting panicked in level 6. He always loved swimming and was never scared of water since day 1 but after going to level 6, he started to get scared and even used to cry to go to swim class. The coach told us it is all because he was promoted too early and was not yet ready for next level. And then he was sent back to level 5. Amongst all this confusions, he totally lost his confidence and panicked to go back to the pool every single time there on. Now it is 6 months past and he is still in level 5. From last 3-4 months in every class, the coach tells the same mistakes that he is making but we do not see any corrections being done.
2) We have 2 classes per week plan and there is absolutely no co-ordination between coaches. The second coach gives completely different feedback and when we ask him the other coach said something else, he says he has no clue why he said that. If you know what mistakes the kid makes and if you donβt spend time in rectifying those, what is the point for us to invest money here? My Kid graduated this Level 5 in April but kept in the same level, making same mistakes from 4 months and he is still making them as they are not being rectified.
3) You will get too many Make ups added to your account as classes gets frequently cancelled and there is no way you can find a Make up for it. They always say try searching again. Also ensure you watch over your Make ups, I have seen many times that Make ups are not added for cancelled classes and also make up is being taken for regular class.
This establishment is no way near to what they were in the past, I donβt see the same quality and they are not focused in kidβs progress. I donβt understand why you will promote a child if he is not ready just to break his confidence in swimming, make him low and demotivated.
***Update - I have updated my name and you should have me in the system. I spoke with you many times regarding this.

They have few issues, may be this place is crowded.
(1) whenever you miss class or any other reason or they cancel the class or the class falls in public holiday - they can easily give you substitute credit very easy ! but does not worth anything as you will hardly get a space in their calendar to spend. To spend this you still have to keep paying monthly fee.
(2) They scheduled two class less - last weekend of month although I paid on monthly basis. I send an email and they never responded.

Great coaches. However, this location has too many frequent changes in assigned coaches - whenever I take this up with front desk, the only response received was we are hiring new coaches. The location is definitely not able to retain their coaches. It would have been more helpful if theyβd address the concern instead of just repeating the same thing over and over.

My daughter started attending this school in October 22. She was really happy and motivated. It took time but she made some progress. Last week after class her coach Lucy told that my daughter did amazing job and if next week she is the same (not better!) she will be graduated for the next level. Today coach Lucy trained other coach. After the class (no graduation!) other coach gave us feedback about something to improve. Now my daughter is not happy and not motivated at all. She was really excited about her graduation and she got nothing. She doesnβt want to swim! Great job, Aqua-tots! If you promise kid to promote then do it. If you may postpone promotion for any reason then do not promise.

One of the best places for kids to learn swimming. I thought this is a corporate and all but they worked with me to accommodate my special needs kid. I mean I did not expect that. They worked through their schedule to find a spot when it was very tough with their schedule. And they were very polite and courteous as well when I had to deal with a situation in their. All in all it's great work. And the course instructor, they were very patient in teaching the kid. Lucky to have a facility like this in our area.

- This swimming class is supposed to be for kids, however, the coaches are not properly trained to work with kids. The guidance/instructions given to kids are very minimum. The kids are expected to follow instructions precisely and there is no alternate method.
- Two simultaneous sessions on either end of a lane give students just about 6-8 ft of length to swim. It is extremely less to practice a stroke as it would give them space for two strokes only. So, in a 30 min session with a 1/4 coach-to-student ratio, a kid will get 3 or 4 chances to actually swim which are about 6-8 strokes, based on which they evaluate and teach.
- The coaches are mostly just observers with a reference card to go by but not teaching the kids.

Only 2 or 3 coaches are good and rest of them are beginners. Classes always get cancelled without any notification even after requesting them to notify us earlier. Coaches keep on rotating every week giving different feedback everytime and making difficult to move to next level. The worst part is group session for 4 kids is 40 mins and this session kid get only max of 5-6 mins of time with the coach. Rest of the time they will be just sitting around.

My 9 years old child had been stayed at the same level without being upgraded higher level for a year. Every time they will give you some reason to refuse to upgrade. Even if the child done well, they still teach you like a beginner because of the change of coach. The new coach did not check the student's learning history before teaching that really canβt help improve the child's level.
Avoid This Place!

Absolute waste of money.
Constantly rotating coaches - they have no idea about how the student is progressing.
They scam us by updating some stars in a age old website falsifying learning levels just for record keeping.
I lost almost 25 sessions because of cancelling due to unavailable coach or false claims of cancellation due to βaccident at poolβ (same story evry friday evening 7:30pm class)
I reached out to corporate office and even the founders of aqua tots (at arizona corp offc), but no one bothers to responds.
These people are running a legalized scam.
search for a better & regular coach in nearby swimming institutions - atleast a competent coach would know how your kid is progressing and fill the gap with proper assessment & a counter effective plan.

These people are running a big scam.
Its a 30min class - 2/3min waste in making student start - 4 student in batch - 7min/student
My kid attended a year but did not progress on any learning..
Absolute 0 progress tracking.
No advancement plan or no effort to overcome challenge.
Every session has the coach changes and high school untrained kids are recruited as coaches.
Absolute waste of money.
Stay away from this scam.

Avoid this place at all cost. They have got enrolled too many kids but their infrastructure doesnβt support this. My biggest complain is their billing system. I had enrolled my kid for twice a week as they said that is more beneficial than once a week. But after seeing no progress I requested them to change frequency from twice a week to once a week. And I have them a notice in March well in advance for April. They charged me for April for both twice a week $218 and once a week $114. Upon asking why they charged $218 they agreed on text that it was their error but they will not refund. They can only give account credit which can be used later. I am moving to a town where they donβt have facility in 30 mins driving radius. But still they will not refund even though it is their error. They are total scam. Stay away from them.

Never the same coach and classes cancelled without warning and without suitable replacement. Kids went here several months and learned nothing nor did they advance. When we brought up the fact that the kids werenβt learning due to having different coaches telling them different things the staff just gaslighted us by saying it wasnβt true only to turn around months later to tell us the kidsβ classes were permanently cancelled. They sure as heck collected money during those months though. They also never reimbursed us for the makeup classes. They tell customers different things. Some customers can cash in their makeup classes and others canβt. Not fair across the board with their policies. Bathrooms never have toilet paper.

A. They sold Christmas in July for a month free for an advance payment for 5 months... nice way to lure folks... then they were closed for 2 consecutive weeks
Also been closed on several other occasions and they give class credit for missed lessons like peanuts because to reclaim the credit you need to be actively enrolled.
They never reach out proactively to parents who have several credits, in my case I have over 14 or so credits with no use as they never have slots for make up sessions and when you challenge them. They make comments and profile parents in their app based on single interaction basically for asking how they are going to make up for missed sessions when they do not have slots for make ups. Some coaches are good, some not so, some front desk personnel don't know don't care how to keep their customers happy.
Avoid this place period.

Coaches keep rotating and they donβt properly communicate each other about your childβs progress. They donβt even look what is your childβs previous score before class starts. Even though your child dose well, they try to keep them at same level, as long as possible which really demotivate your child. For instant if your child fulfilled all requirements, ideally they should move to next level, instead next coach comes and they bring up with new points and make sure they stay in same level. Itβs coaches responsibility to ensure child gets enough attention and properly coach missing skills and ensure kids move to higher level. Just giving different opinions in each time with out looking at previous data and internal communication issues between coaches will impact your child's confidence. I believe management will take care of these concerns seriously.

I would not recommend this place. They cancel lessons a lot. They don't refund because "you can make these classes up at other times". It's one thing to have a few cancellations but my daughter had them back to back to back. The front desk told me that the staff are college kids with activities and cannot always make it. Wow!!! I pay for a service. They need to make it or have a substitute. Don't go here.

They keep cancelling classes at the drop of hat. I have lost count of make up lessons . Worst there is no availability to schedule them as well.
the instructors keep changing and there are 4to 5 kids in a 30 min window.. effectively your child barely gets 5min attention and rest of the time they spent idling.
They donβt allow to even use them towards routine classes so that you donβt pay the monthly fees

Team not up to the mark and poor customer experience. Not much progress in span of 2 months for my son. He can go under water to the bottom of the pool and pick up a βtoyβ. Heβs floating in his back, standing on the edge and jumping in the pool and learning other techniques. I really like how we have an online profile. I can see my payments, what classes are coming up and set up any make up classes. Iβm so glad we chose Aqua Tots for our son to learn how to swim!

Coaching is ultra slow - Constantly changing coaches - No continous progress tracking or target setting.
Its endless loop of kids getting stuck at single level.
My kid & batchmates are stuck at striking legs since 6 months with ever evolving/ no progress tracking with constantly revolving tutors.
Glad to have kid leave this endless loop of learning & force adjusting to constantly change of tutors.
Be aware and get in writing below points before signing the contract
1 - Permanent coach allocation
2- Progress tracking and goal setting with tentative timelines
3- Unless permanent coach is available & allocated, provisions to hold off membership should be negotiated.

It's hard to tell the difference by just watching the lessons but from swimming with my son for the first time this year, I can tell a huge improvement from last year when he couldn't swim at all, to now being able to! I was surprised how well he was doing. His coaches at Aqua-Tots did have been great and the staff is always nice and patient if I have questions. Thank you!

***Updated***My 22 month old twins loved this place on their initial visit. So we were excited parents after waiting five months to find a class to fit two kids in at one time.
Aqua-tots website had not been working to enroll my children in additional classes so I called to pay and schedule them (since classes fill quickly). We're a military family and have two kids - two different associates informed me that we would receive the kid/sibling discount as well as the military discount. Sounds great - right? On top of that we would only be able to schedule our twins for two classes during the month of April. The employee on the phone said we'll prorate the month since you can only attend two classes. Almost two weeks go by and I get a call from that same employee. She informed me that she would have to reverse the prorate for the month of April and recharge me for two classes even though I wouldn't be able to attend. That her manager (I assume Tyler since she said he and the other two are female) has made her call to recharge me.
A good manager would have course corrected the mistake their employee made and 1) not forced the employee to call the customer almost two weeks later to fix 2) not made the mistake of the employee the detriment of the customer 3) called the customer himself if this was such a monumental mistake.
I spoke to Tyler. Direction was given to him from the owners. Ownership of poor management comes from the owners who forced their employees to try and ask a customer for 80 dollars two weeks later because it didnβt line their pockets. We will continue to go because ultimately it is not my childrenβs fault this happened but I still called Aqua Tots corporate office to inform them that their brand is being tarnished by greedy owners.

My daughter goes here for swim classes. Very well kept. Great staff, on time classes.
About classes:
They have different levels for classes from beginners level 1(Terry the TapoLE ) to expert @ level 9 ( Sidney the StingRay). Average price is about $25/class for 3 minutes, semi private. They combine up to 4 kids per class.
Morning sessions are better as change rooms are cleaner. It gets a little messy towards evening.

Aqua Tots is a family! We have been attending swim classes since March 2019 and absolutely love the staff, the curriculum, and the pride our kids have each time they reach new swim goals. COVID procedures have been a clear priority to the staff and we very much appreciate that. Thank you for all you do!

My son went here for almost 6 months and barely progressed. He could not swim. When you have to miss a lesson, they give you a "make up" but not your money back. You can't apply your make ups to future months. We ended up losing the equivalent of almost two months of lessons when I decided to take him somewhere else to learn.

We only went for a trial lesson, but wanted to share our experience. I was told on the phone when we scheduled that my 4yr old would be going under water first lesson, and I had them assure me they would teach and talk her through it, not just dunk her, as sheβs brand new to the water. But a few minutes after the class had started someone walked out and informed me sheβd be going under 18-20 times first lesson (30 minutes long). I watched closely and came very close to interrupting the lesson but my daughter hadnβt actually started crying, so I tried to be polite and wait. Parent live and learn moment, should have followed my gut and asked her how she was liking it mid lesson because afterward she said she never wanted to come back and over a month later still says she never wants to go under water again. Weβll look for a school who establishes trust with our children and a positive association to water learning before checking off boxes on their lesson plan. Traumatic immersion learning wasnβt what we were going for, so weβll be going elsewhere for lessons.

My granddaughter began lessons afraid of the water and embarrassed that her older sister could swim and she could not. Today, she dives under the water to retrieve the ring, kicks herself forward with her face in the water, has breath control, jumps into the water to swim back up... There is so many other things that she now can do in just a few short weeks. She dances in to begin her lessons and feels sad when the time is over. This has been an amazing experience for both my granddaughter and me.

I'm am incredibly impressed with the way Aqua Tots has accommodated for COVID restrictions. We are continually pleased with swim lessons for our two children! Big shout outs to Coach Angie, Coach Mary Grace, and Coach Kofi! They go above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable with our kiddos in the pool and are experts at what they do.

I am SHOCKED at how great this place was. I have an 8 yr old boy who was terrified of putting his head under or getting water in his eyes. By the end of the first class he came up to me and said "going under water is kind of fun!" He had instructor Zay, and he was so patient and really had my son feeling safe and comfortable. So so happy with Aqua-Tots

This school has both pros and cons -
Pros: Few instructors are really good, location is good
Cons: The biggest for me is the slow progress. My son was at same level for over a year and when we ask them for progress, they would tell us just two more classes and he should be ready to move up. This same answer was repeated between 5 months last year until I requested to speak to a senior coach and ask them reasons on what is happening and then they were forced to look into it. The coaches don't make any efforts to update the progress and work on the skills that they should focus on. At the end of every class, they have just one response "He did really great today" Well, if he did then why wouldn't there be a progress for 5-6 months?
Other cons are really crowded place, dirty bathrooms and changing rooms. I'd consider them expensive for the poor facility services and lack of progress on skills they make.

In the first month, my four year old kid indeed learned some swimming skills. However, 5 months have passed he is still learning the same skills which he already knew and can do well. He used to be very interested in swimming but recently he told me swimming is boring and he doesnβt want to go to the class at Aqua Tots.

We enrolled our children in Aqua-Tots 2 years ago as they were touted to be the premier swim school in the area. Both kids had been exposed to water (5 & 4 year olds) but couldn't float or swim on their own. Initially things seems to be fine; we were frustrated at their slow progress through Level 3 but were assured that this was normal. They finally graduated into Level 4 after 8-9 months, and initially seemed to be making some progress. Progress is tracked on cards that you see each week prior to class. For the last 5 months, neither child has had any additional skills marked as completed. We've checked in with their instructors and the managers - they're paying attention, but we get the same report every week. If they haven't learned anything in 5 months, I tend to question the instruction. We've moved classes to be with one of their Master Instructors with the same result. We discussed the lack of progress with one of the managers, who agreed to schedule out several weeks of make-ups so they were going twice weekly. Today, we showed up to one of these make-up classes to have them act as if they were never scheduled, and the same manager wouldn't even come out to talk to us about it.
Pros: Convenient location, year-round swimming
Cons: Very unhelpful make-up class policy (only 1 week out usually), lack of teaching actual swimming skills, poor knowledge of front desk staff, lack of concern from management, extremely crowded area to watch the children in class, and lack of individualized instruction for the children; at $85/month per child (we have 2) for weekly 30 minute classes with 4 children in each class, relatively overpriced compared to other options.

What am amazing school. It has taught me and my baby so much. Great staff, so helpful and informative. We have been going since my baby was 4 months, she is almost 9 months now, and she is going under water without any issue and with a coming up with a big smile. So happy with everything. Thank you for this educational and safe class.

The concept on how they teach the kids is effective. They start with basic skills and build up to actually swimming. I appreciate that. However, there are some areas that have an opportunity to improve. The feedback and the end of class is always the same it should be more detailed and customize to the childβs actual performance of that day. The facility needs to do a better job of keeping the fitting room area clean. Unfortunately parents are not reporting when their kids are having accidents. Every week I have walked in a fitting room that has pee in it and Iβve had to change rooms. There should be a routine cleaning policy. Someone should be mopping and sanitizing those floors frequently. Especially with kids walking around barefoot.

I DON'T EVEN GIVE A ONE STAR BUT THAT'S THE LEAST REQUIREMENT. My 5 years old is in same level since last two years, every time after the lesson i hear that she did great but coach are not responsible to update their progress in the aqua card. more than that they don't even update the account for correct number of make up class, and when i saw and call them to update whoever was on the call she said she update but she didn't and when i went there personally their desk manager didn't do it and repeating same thing over and over, worst customer service i have seen ever, when I ask about their manager she didn't even give me the contact info. They are having lot of accident in the pool like small kids does pee in the pool and than they have to close the pool, this happen 3 times in one month and they have to add make up class and they don't even for their pool closure.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. I HAVE WASTED MY TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS PEOPLE.

We love how much the kids have learned in such a short time. Sure they get their head wet every single time and hated it at first. But, guess what? If they fall in the water accidentally, they are going to get their head wet. This teaches them real life situational skills. After the first few visits it wasn't a big deal. Even in the bath tub now I can douse them and they know exactly what to do. We definitely would recommend Aquatots to any parent who wants their child to be safe around the water!

The staff is always friendly and helpful. The instructors are great with my son and work so well with him. He has been fearful during lessons and every instructor has approached him with kindness and patience while encouraging him to try his best. Ms Kaity Singleton expresses true concern and interest in supporting my son. She took the time to learn more about him and worked to create the most positive swim experience for him. Instructors share tips for motivation and increasing comfort. I couldnβt be happier with the genuine interest shown. I really feel everyone is invested in his success not only in learning water safety and swim but also in building his comfort and confidence. As a parent words cannot express how wonderful it is to see your child happy and enjoying something they were once so scared of. The smile on my sonβs face and thumbs up he shows now are amazing. He is proud of himself for being brave and learning new things. I would absolutely recommend Aqua-Tots to anyone! I am so grateful for Aqua-Tots and all the instructor and staff who work so hard to support my child. Thank you!!

We have two children, ages 5 and 3 years old that participate in swimming safety and training, one day per week at Aqua-Tots. Our kids enjoy swimming training with Aqua-Tots instructors. All of the instructors are very friendly, responsive, and do their best in allowing kids to lose their fear of being in water as well as key essentials to help with swimming. I appreciate Aqua-Tots being welcoming and flexible with us, working parents. I very much appreciate that Aqua-Tots cares about maintenance and upkeep of their pools and facilities.

The only reason I am giving one star because that's the lowest it can go. This place is nothing but money making. They spend less than 7 min out of 20 min of the session. and charge you $20 for 30 min. ( 5 min to get in and 5 min to get out and out of rest 20 min) they play and do other things and show couple of trick and may be 2 laps with your child. We have spent couple of thousand $$ for 2 of our kids. The trainer ( who we called Coach ) are kids and they dont know and they cant find the report card of your kids most of the time. When you ask them they say they will update it letter. I been hearing this for last few months. The manager is not responsive either. How can you loose the report card every week and how do we know if you are updating the report. Even thou, my child is doing fine. they keep kid in the same class because the report card is not update and there is always new trainer most of the time. So, how would they know what my kids learned last time. Overall, I rather pay extra and have private lesson. Rather, paying $20 for 5 to 7 min out of 30 min. After spending couple of thousand $$ I regret to be there. And, most of the parents released after spending that amount and seeing how they manage the timing. One suggestion to Aqua Tots, Have your trainer be more educated and spend the time with our kids more out of 30 min. You are making $100 in 30 min between 5 kids. So, have some decency in your work. Hope this management can take some action and have their trainer and manager more responsible.
