My friend and I were in Waynesville a couple weeks ago on a mountain vacation and during our stay we enjoyed classes at Axis Yoga every day! The teachers were amazing, the vibe fabulous, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in town! Thank you for welcoming us into your yoga community and making us feel right at home :)

I booked a private class with Jake for a bachelorette trip I planned in Lake Junaluska this Spring, and we were so happy with our experience! Jake was very easy to work with and responded promptly to my questions. The studio provides all mats and accessories needed for class, as well as water and lavender towels for after class. Jake was also a great instructor and the whole group really enjoyed his class. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

I hosted a small women’s retreat nearby and was looking for a space to offer yoga and a sound bath. Jake provided both and created a truly unforgettable experience that left each attendee feeling calm and at peace. I was especially impressed by the serene setting, Jake’s deep knowledge, and his thoughtful approach that made everyone feel personally cared for. He effortlessly balanced guiding the group while ensuring that each woman felt individually nurtured. I highly recommend Jake for anyone looking to create a meaningful and restorative experience!

Axis is a and welcoming studio in historic venue with an amazing group of yoga instructors. The space is small and the instructors create classes that are always satisfying and a great value for the price. You can register at Vigaro for individual classes, and there are options for passes for groups of classes at a discount or a monthly membership.

Class offerings are plentiful, classes are as described on the website, and events are always worth attending. I’ve attended yen, beginners, the weight class, gentle, meditation, and Jake’s signature classes—Juice and Jams and Sound Baths. All are taught by caring, conscientious, fun, and interactive instructors who subscribe to the philosophy that yoga is for everyone.

Modifications are suggested and encouraged so that you get the best possible experience in your practice. The strong sense of community allows the practitioner to feel free and encouraged to come not just for the yoga practice but for the warmth of community that exists in the studio. The owner and teachers work collaboratively to assure that the studio offers support to its clients as well as to the community.

I personally have participated in a wide range of locally owned studios and hold a YTT 200 certification. Although I only teach individuals, I can say without hesitation that Axis is top shelf, earning Best in Studio before the end of its first year in operation. The award speaks volumes about this group of delightful instructors who craft warm and wonderful classes in an intimate studio setting.

Jake took this mess of a person, fresh out of a divorce and still grieving over the loss of my mother, and helped organize the chaos that was my mind! With his grounding breath-work, narrative therapy, role playing situations that helped me conquer my fear of conflict, applicable song lyrics or his own personal stories, he helped and equipped me with goals for the journey I am on- finding the authentic me! I would highly recommend him to anyone as a life coach, yoga instructor and of course, friend.

Axis Yoga, at the Folkmoot Center, is building community through its yoga classes and special events. It offers diverse classes with caring instructors. The classes I have taken have all been filled with positive energy, instructors meeting me where I am in my practice and even laughter. Highly recommend Axis Yoga. (Note: this is Mary, not Jim).

I have struggled with negative talking to myself for years. I’m not sure how Jake has managed to get through to me but he has!
Maybe the combination of love, yoga and joyfulness within the practice is the key!

I feel like my heart and mind might learn to be at peace. Thank you Axis Yoga for the support!

I went for Iron Yoga and enjoyed the class. It was a workout I needed and enjoyed, which is rare for me. Jake is awesome as an instructor, kind and funny and I loved his quirky play list.

I took one of Jake's Mindful Slow Flow classes.
What a wonderful yoga class! Jake is so clear in his explanations of poses and movements. He's very aware of each student's needs and suggests modifications so you can tailor your practice for your individual needs and abilities. I will be back for this class regularly!
