Bull and Bear is the perfect place to workout for that late Gen Xer or early millennial who enjoy loud crazy music and people doing jiu jitsu. There's a level of very comfortable professionalism that felt natural and easy

Looking back 7 years now: Finding this gym was one of the best things to happen in my life. It is the most real gym I have ever been a member of. This reflects the character of the owner; who has the wild audacity to be uniquely genuine in a world filled with people who do not know themselves. Come here and build a 600 lbs squat, perfect your front double biceps or master jujitsu. The people you find here are not your cookie-cutter-gym-goers, but you might “find yourself” working out amongst them, striving for more - together.

I've been a member since October '23. Fantastic gym. It is by far the best gym I've been a member of or trained at. Everything you need is there, as well as stuff you didn't even know you needed. The staff is AMAZING! I've been a member of other gyms and never even know the desk people's name because they were only on the phone. Even my kids know all the staff. Jiu-jitsu and Judo programs are great, too! The other members either do their thing and go, or will chat you up a little while. Nobody is just standing around a machine, taking up space talking.

I visited Bull and Bear from out of town and attended a jiu-jitsu open mat. The environment has a very cool vibe and the community of people seems no different. If you're looking for awesome people, an awesome gym, and an awesome time, this is the place to train. If I lived in the area, this is where you'd find me.

Just switched over to this gym. Great environment for folks who want to get work done. Solid gym etiquette, wide range of equipment that is in good condition and accessible, and the owner is a solid dude. Can’t ask for more from a gym. They offer additional services to boot (sauna, cold/ice exposure, and they have a jiu-jitsu area/classes as well. Wish I’d have discovered it earlier.

I had an issue with the gym, but after speaking to the owner, he made things right. He was under no obligation to make things right, but he did. He seems to be a stand-up, honest dude. I am really happy with the outcome.

Enjoyed the last 4 yrs. Working out typically 4 days a week at Bull and Bear.
Compared to a dozen gyms i have worked out in, Bull & Bear is top class in equipment, people , friendships made, comradery , ease of working on equipent without waiting, new renovations , clean and military mantra.
Overall a top notch gym if you want a no frills workout and focus approach to training.

Great first impression!
Went into Bull & Bear for the first time today, and was met by some great people who showed me around as the front desk was busy (which was no big deal).
They added an addition recently for the powerlifters a nice rogue bench, calibrated? KG plates, 1/4 inch pin squat rack.
The equipment is older hammer strength (just what I like personally) with some cybex equipment mixed in.
This is a smaller gym, with an area for Ju Jitsu, etc (they had a class going on when I walked in).
Wasn't too busy for the size of the gym at all, dumbbells go up to 125lbs, the powerlifting area had room for deadlifts, 2-3 benches and the squat rack.
The non powerlifting area had a few squat deadlifting (with platforms) combo racks, ample amount of chest, back, leg, and shoulder machines.
They also had stair masters, treadmills, etc.
If you're looking for brand new, "fancy" equipment this is probably not the place you'd prioritize (outside of some nice powerlifting items).
However, if you're looking for a smaller, less packed, let's get in and get the job done type of gym (as I am) I'd say this is the ideal spot if you live anywhere from South part of Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, or Fuquay. The other gyms in the area are more commercial and more packed.
Thanks again for the introductions by a few members, and being very welcoming.

Great atmosphere. Most people keep to themselves or are all about socializing. It’s a great mix. I enjoy having everything I need in one place. Jiu Jitsu, bjj, wrestling, boxing, weight lifting and cardio all in one place.

Terminated my membership at this gym not long ago after working out here for 7 months. My experience was pretty mixed. They have just about every machine you could need which is cool, despite the gym being a bit more on the smaller side. I completely appreciate the hardcore, pro-police/military culture they’re trying to cultivate too.
There were a few times though when I was treated kinda rudely by other patrons (and maybe a staff member?) completely out of the blue. It ended up leaving a bad taste in my mouth and that’s ultimately why I chose to leave. Atmosphere feels weirdly off in there. Kinda like a “social club you have to be invited to”
One thing I’d suggest the owner do is buy more plates for the racks. I often found myself having to walk clear across to the other side of the gym to find a plate in the size I was looking for.

Overall if you wish to continue your training or begin your training, the Bull and Bear gym is the place for you.

This place is awesome! It’s a real gym that offers the atmosphere you want when going in to get a serious lift in. The members and staff are all like family and are all very friendly and polite and always helpful. The float tank they have is a hidden gem here in the area and if you have never used it you have to try it out! They offer an infrared sauna and also jujitsu classes as a side bonus! If your wanting an atmosphere to get you in the mid set to make some gains then this is the place for you!

Top notch facility. They have everything you need. From fitness training to combatives training. Staff is very friendly. First time using a Float Tank today and...WOW. I have osteoarthritis and still recovering from my second hip replacement. The session left me feeling amazing. Will be adding floats to my recovery. The float tank room is on par with a fancy spa feeling and very clean.

I originally started off just trying to find a gym that was open and got lucky enough to stumble across Bull & Bear. If you are looking for a real gym and not somewhere to eat pizza and bagels while sitting on the treadmill, then this is the place. First day I walked in, it felt like coming home. After being out of the gym forever from the Rona, it was great to be in a serious gym. Everyone in the gym, owner, staff, and customers are great. You're not going to find a better gym in the area.

Float Tank First Timer - Totally Recommended
Sore from training, and over-stimulated from staring at a computer screen all week, I was thrilled to take me a float at Bull & Bear. I totally loved it.
I haven’t experienced a float tank before, so I didn’t know what to expect. Within minutes, my mind was calmed like I was deep in meditation. The experience was soothing and rejuvenating. Although I think I may have dozed off during the float. When I came out of the tank I felt like I fell asleep in a movie theater.
I injured my back pretty extensively about 18 months ago. Soaking in a tub was part of my physical therapy regimen. I wish I had access to a float tank back then. It would have been accessible from my wheel chair, and I would have benefited so much from using it. It took all the pressure off my back!
Another perk of the tank is the size. I’m over 6' tall, so actually being able to fit was great. I haven’t fit in a bathtub for a soak since I was in grade school.
As for the club. It’s totally flipping awesome. Especially if you like to workout. If you go to the gym to text on the phone and snapchat with friends, this isn’t the place for you. People are there to work and work hard. Sure the members know what they're doing and look amazing, but they're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, too.

Excellent gym and people, great environment..We go hard there, we value our health and the veterans and first responders...I was at Clubworx before this and they decided to fire everyone and screw everyone and there hard work and progress...im not about that. They have lost my respect as they cowered and caved to the bullcrap policies of the government...Id gladly pay twice to not go back to Clubworx. Clubworx has me under a year contract and have decided to not even give any information about the situation all while trying to sell access to the pools which is included in my membership. The management and owners are trash. No value for health or fitness, just money. Dont go to Clubworx if the open back up haha "if". Tell your friends not to go to Clubworx. This is where you want to be. Give them your service as they are there to serve you. Been there for months now and havnt died from the bs virus. Oh and Clubworx blocked and hid comments that were critical of them on facebook. Screw Clubworx!!!!!! Come workout with us at Bull & Bear

This gym has a great set up, as heavy dumbbells as you could need, all the way down to 5LB, 5 or 6 squat racks with nice platforms with KG bumper weights for deads and ect. Great isolation attachments for the cables. Not a strongman gym but not a planet fitness. Great middle of both so it can fit both sides of the spectrum.

I've been in corporate based gyms for the past 4 years and have already enjoyed all BBG has to offer in just a month!
Being on my own fitness journey, I love being surrounded by other body builders who are serious about their workouts.
BBG is also my one stop shop to recovery. Whatever my body is feeling, they have it all- hot yoga, infrared sauna or even a float in the deprivation tank!
If you're ready for a REAL gym with badass people and equipment this is the place for you!

BBG is a well maintained and exceptionally clean gym with friendly staff. Essentially 24/7 access to both strength athlete specific equipment and commercial gym type equipment. The gym owner controls membership volume so there is never a long wait for equipment or space normally experienced at other gyms in the area. Pricing is equal to or below other gyms/facilities in the area with no BS start up fees, membership fees, etc...

I became a member the day after their soft opening. It has been exciting to watch the gym come together as the finishing touches are being implemented. I can’t wait for it all to be complete and test out some of the extra offerings they provide. While I haven’t been there in the past week due to traveling, I am hoping they get kettlebells and a battle rope for use in the facility.

This place is a haven for wellness! The gym is 10,000 square feet- completely focused on fitness and health. This is not your average gym.
In addition to strength building and body building, my favorite space in the gym is the hot yoga studio. The room has radiant heat set to 104 degrees. I teach and take a lot of yoga, and this studio is 💯. Every yoga instructor has a unique style and creates a safe place to practice.
The float tank is the ultimate form of meditation for those who need to connect with breath and heart.
The sauna is perfect especially when you need a full detox.
This sweet space is the ultimate gem in Fuquay Varina.
