I have been attending recitals here for the past couple of years because of my niece. The recent one this past weekend was a total disappointment. I paid $30 (for 2 tickets) to watch many students not dancing and not smiling. They also charged $5 for the very thin program book. I don't ever remember paying for a program book anywhere; it is generally free especially if you already paid for a ticket. Sounds like money grubbers. Many up there on stage weren't dancing and looked like they didn't know what to do. Students who are old enough to learn and follow a dance routine should be progressing at their age. Maybe some just don't want to be there. The teachers are out there leading the dances and the students copying or at least trying to. Even if they are young, let them be on their own or just teach them better. The older teenagers did great though. When I took dancing as a child I was told to smile and the teachers were not out there trying to lead the students during the recital; we were on our own because we were taught the dance. My dance teachers made sure we KNEW the dance before the recital and we practiced it again and again until we got it right.
I am sorry to say that this show was boring and not entertaining and I was just waiting for it to be over.

We signed up for the summer ballet/tap, as we just moved here from Mebane and decided to try a new studio closer to our new home. After two weeks, we were unhappy with the quality of instruction and cleanliness of the studio. The classes started 5 to 10 minutes late both weeks, yet ended on time. Time is money when it comes to how much youβre paying for dance. When I informed the owner that we would be taking our daughter out of the class, I stated I was happy to pay a prorated amount for the two classes that we attended. They refused to honor that and charged us for the full month. We will be heading back to Mebane to continue there. The owner stated that transition between classes can be hard, however, I have one child who has danced for 15 years and another one for a full year and weβve never had classes start late because theyβre prepared and staffed to make it run smoothly. Very unsatisfied to pay $59 for a full month when my daughter received one hour and five minutes of instruction.
