Crunch is awesome. Classes, equipment and staff are all top-notch. I work at this Crunch and they treat their employees well. The motto is "no judgements" and I really feel like there is a place for all people looking for a workout. Tanning (spray and UV), massage, and sauna are all awesome. I absolutely love Crunch, this location and every other one I've taught at and visited. Great community.

Honestly love this Crunch!
The gym is always clean, the vibe is good, and the equipment is solid. The staff is super friendly every time I walk in, they always make you feel welcome. I never feel judged here, and it’s really easy to get into my workout without feeling crowded or stressed.

The classes are fun, the energy is great, and it’s just overall a nice place to come after a long day. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a gym that’s affordable, clean, and has good vibes.

Friendly & helpful staff. Clean location. Major props to personal trainer Matt. He’s very knowledgeable, encouraging, and supportive. I saw more results than anticipated within my first month working with him. It’s now a few months later & let me tell you, I’ve never been this lean! I definitely recommend! This would be zero stars if Google would let me. I have canceled multiple times in person which is the only way I was told I could cancel. Crunch keeps billing me. There is always and excuse why it’s not cancelled and why I’m still be charged. I will be going back tomorrow to cancel for the 4th time. I have been working out for most of my life and this is the only time I’ve had an issue cancelling a gym membership. I would recommend finding a different gym.

I recently joined the Crunch Arboretum and it is one of the best Gyms in Charlotte. The front desk employees are nice and friendly with a smile always in their face making you feel welcomed and at home. The people working out are friendly and respectful. The place is always clean (even more than the other Crunch gyms in the area). And the group classes are awesome with great enthusiasm and the instructors are happy to be there making the environment better to work your hardest and get healthier. Love it so far! This place is a scam. I joined for a promotion of a very low monthly rate. They gave me a free personal training session. The trainer has me sign up for more training and tells me the $200 I paid is refundable if I decide not to do it. I decide not to do it, they say “actually, we lied, it’s not refundable, too bad.” I tell them I cannot afford it and they say “too bad.” That’s when I got the ick about this gym. So I try to cancel two months into my membership and they all of the sudden charge me a $60 annual maintenance fee (two months into my memberhship) “coincidentally” when I try to cancel.
I call them and ask to cancel and they tell me I have to go in and talk to them about why I want to cancel. What!!! It doesn’t matter why I want to cancel, I just do and they dont need to know my business. i also cannot because ive moved an hour away. I tell them this. They tell me to email them with some bills that prove ive moved away. They also tell me this with an attitude . Why should a gym get to have my bills and personal information. Very scammy. They are still taking money from me and wont let me cancel and today they took about $100 from me immediately when my paycheck hit my account when I needed that for bills. They are a scam and will not let you cancel.

Royce was awesome! Very personable and down to Earth. He was knowledgeable about the space, and answered all my questions before I could ask them. This fitness club is amazing! There are so many different machines and equipment for every type of workout — you can really find everything you need here. The atmosphere is super motivating: when you come in, you immediately feel the energy. There are lots of fit and positive people around, which makes you want to push yourself and do better every time.
The club is also very clean and well-maintained. I love that they have a sauna, massage chairs, and even a tanning area it’s like a full relaxation and wellness experience after a good workout. Definitely one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to!

I love this gym! It has everything! The staff are super nice and it's just really a great gym!! I moved from LA Fitness because they had a lot of problems.

Crunch doesnt have those problems and it's just a cool place to get fit!

Edit: I do really wish the music could be turned down. I have sensory processing issues and I need to be able to hear my boyfriend. He trains me.

We kind of end up saying "huh?" A lot.

I may be in the minority here. Just wanted to mention. It's hard to talk in there sometimes.

5 stars for the professionalism of the staff, layout and equipment available. Almost everything you want to do in fitness is here.

The drawbacks are the crowds and the lack of gym etiquette of many of the gym goers. It's hard to get a complete a timely workout when people are holding up equipment while doom scrolling on their phones or excessively socializing.

I can only speak for the hours after 5pm until about 8pm during the week. There may better time windows to choose.

Personal opinion but I felt like that should have been to one side or the other so you had all of your equipment in one section. Instead I have to walk around folks stretching with the bands or doing Pilates in order to go from the bench press to the dumbbells

Crunch has hit me with so many hidden and unexplained fees that are simply unacceptable. Late fees are incredibly expensive. The rates continue to go up without notice. Its 2025 and theres no way to cancel the membership online either. They conveniently do not tell you they will charge you another months fee just to cancel! Avoid this gym at all costs, the games they play are ridiculous and make getting out such a pain you just keep paying.

Even though I pay for the elite membership I am told I can not use the machines to stretch out on. They have tons of equipment that can not be used because they are holding their HIIT class. I pay to be able to go that class but was told today I could not enter in that part of the gym to use the machines to stretch on. I will never belong to a gym that prioritizes a group class over individuals. Thats equipment(the landmines, balls, stretching machines-WHICH THEY MOVED INTO THE HIIT room can not be accessed by members (even who pay for the elite membership) is the most assanine thing I have ever seen. They have a whole group fitness room for this class. I went over to matthews and canceled my membership. Derek the manager has asked a guy I know multiple times for PEDS(at his old gym in lancaster) and should be let go.

I joined Crunch Fitness specifically for the sauna. Unfortunately, for the past few weeks, it’s been repeatedly out of service — inconsistently working at best.

Today, I even called ahead to confirm whether the sauna was operational and was told it was. I showed up shortly after, only to find that it wasn’t working again. That’s not just frustrating — it’s a poor member experience and a waste of time.

At some point, as a commercial gym, you need to stop patching things up and invest in reliable equipment. If you advertise certain amenities, they should be consistently available. Otherwise, you’re not delivering the product people are paying for.
