Great local gym with a wide variety of classes for all ages of the family. I love the friendliness of the staff/owners. They make you feel like part of the family. Great place to work out with little crowding and no judging. Always a warm and inviting atmosphere. Highly suggest for your next work out.

Their unprofessional, unfair treatment of Viva Swim Academy is enough for me to never recommend them to anyone in the community. The way they have run their business side and treated Viva is terrible. In addition, there are major sanitary issues with not only the gym facilities, but also the pool. Over the years there have been many complaints about the pool not being maintained at safe chemical or cleanliness levels. Now FSF won't even heat the pool for the children in swim classes. They are doing all they can to intentionally make this a miserable transition for innocent swim students and families. They are also "suddenly" offering their own swim lessons, which certainly will reflect the same subpar standards FSF holds at their facility.

Very disappointed with how fsf has handled not coming to a reasonable agreement with viva swim to be able to stay and continue offering valuable swim lessons to the community. The month to month agreements they impose have left the swim students with insufficient time to get in make up lessons that were set to never expire. With multiple kids in the program this leaves me losing $400 in lessons that FSF received a portion of and I know I am not alone in this situation!

The treatment of the independent swim academy after a very successful first year is a show of character on the part of this business. This incredible value brought to the community has been taken away by their greed. It will be their loss- as they will lose standing within the community, income from the swim academy, and business from those that swim. I won’t be walking back through these doors.

I like this gym for its family atmosphere although sometimes the music in the weight room is too cacophonous (hard rock/heavy metal). They will change it if you ask.

As for the unmarked weights on the machines, some are 15 lbs each and some are 20 lbs each depending on the machine. Most machines have enough weights marked that you can tell if they are 15 lbs or 20 lbs. some simple arithmetic will tell you how much you are lifting.

All of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Great place to workout. However, make sure you ask them to show you the monthly calendar/schedule to shows how often the basketball court, swimming pool, etc are booked for all kinds of childcare and senior activities. I made it painfully clear what my intentions were when joining, as well as what times I’d be there, but there was no mention of this schedule.

I Just wanted to play basketball, and some periodic swimming. I’m a long distance runner and have never had a lot of interest in lifting weights, but that’s about all I have access to now that I’m in the building. I don’t mean this to sound disrespectful, but it honestly feels more like I’ve joined a senior center/child care facility than a gym because I hardly have access to what I signed up to do.

Older equipment. When items needing attention are pointed out. Nothing happens or you are told " i use, it's fine". Maybe if you weigh a 150 lbs. I am quite a bit larger than that so the machines feel the stress and show the lack of maintenance. I will be checking out Lifters in Locust as an alternative.

Update: The equipment could use some attention. There are weight stacks with no labels. Are we supposed to guess? Someone could be injured. Some pulleys bind under heavier weights. For a "family" place the music they blast is just too much noise. :-(

I have greatly enjoyed the family atmosphere of this facility. The staff and owners consistently display diligence in knowing their members and their community. The variety of equipment and available space makes exercising easy to enjoy with other like minded members while at the same time not feeling cramped. My time here, albeit limited, has been enjoyable. It's nice to know that even though life may present difficulties in making time for exercise, there is a staff & facility that makes the little time we do have easy to make use of.

We attended a birthday pool party here today and unfortunately, it was a horrible experience. The host of the party was given odd information regarding the pool AFTER the party had started, "Dont let the kids open their eyes in the water" The pH of the pool was COMPLETELY off and was burning and irritating the eyes of multiple kids at the party. My daughter was one of the few that stayed in the water for an extended amount of time and when she got out to eat lunch, her eyes were bloodshot, and on fire. I had to put her in a shower in the locker room to flush her eyes and when this didnt help, we had to flush her eyes with saline solution. This was a horrible experience and the owner, manager, or whomever should have NEVER allowed access to the pool.
We were told the chemical levels were fine, but could still cause burning of the eyes, if opened under water, but my daughter never opened them under the water while swimming.
The party was from 12-3, its now 10:30 pm and my daughters eyes are still red and irritated, this is completely unacceptable and could have easily been avoided with proper communication from the facility and proper treatment of the pool.
Do better.

I was a member of this gym years ago. I’ve decided to go back. The membership is a little more than other places, but this gym has a pool and basketball court. They often have sales and if you get the right one the membership is a great price. The employees are friendly and helpful. I have a personal trainer there. McKinley is knowledgeable, helpful and understanding. She takes her time and pushes just as far as you need. There’s babysitting which is free for members. There’s a $5 fee for people who don’t have membership to use the gym and also for babysitting. Parking is ample.

Came in for the first time, only 5 dollars for one individual which is great in my opinion. The lady over the phone was so sweet and I was greeted right in the door. She told me where everything was and made me feel so much more comfortable. The cleanliness of this place is actually really clean. There’s spray bottles and towels to clean off equipment. I would definitely recommend this place!

I'm glad there is a gym in a small town but it never feels clean. The pool, showers, and sauna is the worst. The pool isn't even filtered and sometimes has standing filmy water. In need of a serious professional cleaning and remidel.

Good gym. Reasonable prices and good facility. Has a pool, an outdoor track, saunas, and a basketball court. As opposed to bigger chains this one is closed on Sundays..Hopefully one day it will change..
