Honest Review, We’ve been at this gym for about seven months. We absolutely love it
My little girl enjoys the kids care area, Especially in the mornings.
Staff is always welcoming And honestly, my girl just enjoys going every time I go, so I can’t ask for more than that and there being 2 screens in the gym so I can see her is a plus as well.

Some people complain about it being small Which is true at peak hours it can get very cramp and tight But that’s not a reason to leave a one star review and it is honestly something you can tell before even signing up so if you receive the tour, then still decided to sign up that was ultimately down to your own discernment.

Also, they talk about a lot of staff just hanging around But don’t realize most of the staff they see around are just personal trainers.

Each family to their own if you’re cautious about contracts, just ask every question you have prior to sign up get all the little details sorted out and if you decide to sign up great if not , great.

But when it comes to the kids care Zone and equipment being clean never Had any problems so far. Continue the great work.

I sent an email to the manager regarding an inquiry about my membership and never received a response. Since I didn’t hear back, I called the gym and asked to speak directly with the manager. The staff representative told me she would talk to him about my inquiry, then put me on hold for less than 30 seconds and came back with an answer—which made me feel like she never actually spoke to him. It would have been much more professional and appreciated if the manager had taken the time to reply to my email or address me personally regarding my concerns.

In response to the owner; I’ve not heard from anyone from this gym. The district manager did not reach out to me nor did the front desk representative that was supposed to call me back.

Avoid this gym.
I signed up to this gym last October. I was excited to start, but since I travel for work a lot it prevented me from going. I’ve never step foot in the gym other than the initial tour. I then had shoulder surgery in February unfortunately that even more so prevented me from going. I noticed in June that I was still being charged for my membership. So, I called to cancel my membership due to the surgery. Contractually surgery is a valid reason to cancel your membership.They told me I needed to send a signed document that they provided by my surgeon/doctor stating I had the surgery. I sent the completed document on June 6th. The name on the document stated Joseph Johnson I signed up for the gym membership as Chris Johnson because I go by my middle name. They told me since the document had my first name they could not accept it. I emailed a copy of my driver’s license to show proof of both names on June 8th.(a legal form of identification) I feel like they are just giving me that particular excuse because they didn’t want to cancel my membership. I have been emailing them to find out what the status is and if they have received my documentation. NO response. It gets worse!! I then found out on August 8th; they sent my account to collections after I’ve done everything they’ve asked me to do. I called the gym and they told me they couldn’t help because my account was sent to billing. They gave me the number for billing. I called billing and they told me they couldn’t help because my account has been sent to collections. They gave me collections number. I called collections, and the collections agency said they couldn’t find my account. I explained to them that billing told me it was in collections. They got really rude with me like their account was the one that was sent to collections. They hung up in my face. I called back, explaining to the next representative what I’ve just experienced. Before I could finish my sentence they hung up on me again. I called and called and when they finally picked up after sending me to the automated service line they said they couldn’t help me and told me to stop calling and hung up again. This is unacceptable. This is now going to affect something that I’ve taking pride in by making sure it is excellent. (My credit). Communication is hard for this company. I feel like they are taking people money and do not care who or what they are affecting. I need someone to contact me about this matter as soon as possible or I will have to take legal matters and get my attorney involved.

Undersized to serve the area, wait time for machines, they lock you into a contract for a gym that takes too long to work out at. I need to get in and out with my schedule and thisbgum adds a lot of wait time to your workout. Parking is difficult, machines are too close together. Thoroughly awesome local gym. Wanna row your boat gently down the loser stream? rowing machine to the rescue. Need to practice running towards, or away, from bad decisions? Plenty-o-treadmills for those deals. Leg day? Everyday... If you want it. Plenty of weights to impress your dates. Do those curls for the girls. Hit those tris for the guys. Talk to the staff for a laugh or a lesson. A genuinely friendly atmosphere with a good gym culture of individuals. Would rate two thumbs up plus a water cup!

I was turned away for bringing my TEN year old in the gym, staff stating that the kidzone wasn't staffed. Their policies are clearly stated, would recommend that staff review the policies that they have posted in the gym for "fit for life clubs". Maybe instead of having three staff members behind the desk socializing, one person could be in the kids room if it's so crucial for a ten year old to be constantly supervised. Honestly the whole thing is just ridiculous. There are always way too many unproductive staff members hanging around chatting. I'll take my business elsewhere next time if staff is not going to recognize and follow their own policies. For parents who are trying to work out after a busy day at work, to be turned away is extremely frustrating. Do better.

If the policy isn't consistent between locations, the sign should read McGees and not Fit for life clubs. Simple fix.

Overall, the gym itself is fine. The trainers are friendly, and the space is mostly well kept for a public gym. However, it is small, and the equipment is put so close together that it becomes cramped very quickly. My reason for leaving a one star review is due to the billing practices and lack of clarity at sign up. when my wife and I joined, we informed the person giving us the tour that we might have to leave at some point due to relocating for work and were looking to sign a short term contract. However, we were talked into the full term contract being assured that cancelling was easy and all we would have to do is provide proof of address change. I even confirmed that we would be able to cancel without extra fees. When time came for us to cancel, about 4 months later, contacting the third party billing company was a nightmare. the entire cancellation process took about a month. it took them almost 3 weeks to finally confirm that we had sent the correct documents and another week for them to approve the cancelation. We were then told that we had to pay for 60 extra days, something that was in the contract but never explained to us prior to signing. On top of that we were billed for yearly dues, which apparently are set in April. Use this review, and my frustrating experience, as a warning to read the contract in full and insist they show it to you instead of hiding it on their screen and summarizing the "important points". To the gym owners: fix your billing company. Paying for an extra month due to slow communication on their end is unacceptable, even if the rest is in the contract.

Be careful when you sign a contract with this gym. No one explains that it's for two years, and you're obligated to pay even if you want to cancel. When you try to cancel, no one responds, and then they take monthly money from your bank account and charge for maintenance fees. The staff is very rude and the service is terrible.

Paid for 24 personal training sessions. Got injured about halfway through (not gym related) and had to postpone sessions, then we moved to a different city and I can no longer use the sessions. They won't refund my for the PT sessions I paid for but can no longer use. If you're going to do PT with them, don't pay in full up front like I did or you won't get any refund if you can no longer use the sessions.

I have been going here for a few months and there are pros and cons.
They have a decent amount of equipment to get a good workout out in.
However, the functional turf area is SO small. It’s almost impossible to do functional training of any sort without elbowing someone else. They also can’t seem to get a pair of matching kettlebells to save their lives- which is incredibly frustrating.
Some of the cardio equipment could desperately stand to be upgraded (the assault bike for example- half of it is rusted out) and the second stair stepper has been broken since I started there. Not sure why it can’t be fixed or removed and replaced with something else.
Fit4Life is probably the best gym in a 10-15 minute radius, but that’s not saying much. They definitely have room for improvement! It has potential…

Very crowded, regardless of the time of day. After 8 PM it is really crowded because the staff is gone. 1 member sneaking in 1-2 people = an overcrowded gym. Lots of nonmembers, it’s more like a singles hangout. It’s 9 PM and there’s probably 100 people here.

The pricing is also strange. I added one of my kids for $20 a month and another (a month later) for $40 a month. That part is very frustrating and it cannot be fixed until next year, and only if…. I time it just right.

The music is also extremely loud, I’m not sure why… and the music is awful. Why… everybody has AirPods in?

Don't let the "kid zone" be a reason you buy a membership here. Three different occasions I've arrived and had to leave with my kid and go to another location because of changes and deviations from their staffing and kid zone policies. Left planet fitness to play this dumb roulette game. We have three memberships here. I'm told we're under contract and can't cancel without buying out our contract. Don't know if it's true; just what the kids at the desk tell me.

This gym has the worst management I have ever experienced. After not honoring a legal contract to keep my price the same, the manager Sean said my husband and myself “were not profitable”. We paid $600 a month for 2 years straight for membership and personal training. I was then asked by same manager, “do you value this gym. Where would you go if not here?” The question is do they value the clients and that is obvious. This was a great addition to our community and bad leadership has ruined its reputation in the area. Members will not renew and now they text with promotions to get people back. Beware of this place, many options where they value the customers.

Fit4life is a chain of training facilities that very in size. Most of the gyms are quite nice. The Cleveland Road Fit4Life is on the smaller size but has everything you will need to train for fitness or bodybuilding. They have an upstairs open floor for classes in dance and aerobics. They don’t have a large amount of cardio but it matches the size of the place. It’s a friendly place to train as everyone I have I met are very nice and eager to help if needed. The staff do a pretty good job of helping keep the place organized and clean until the cleaning crew comes. They have skilled trainers that can help answer questions and provide training if needed. They do make protein drinks but no food. All and all not a bad spot to train.

Great experience and enjoying the 24/7 service, the only downside for the mere moment is that a few of the treadmills upstairs get stuck and only go up to a certain speed, then gradually move up and down making it weird to run with a consistent pace. I’m not too entirely sure if it’s due to the belt being overused or if it’s the treadmill itself, since myself and other runners have had to hop around from treadmill to treadmill to find one that’s working.

My time with Fit4Life started out very good. I enjoyed the trainers that walked me through my evaluation and I was able to use the gym on a regular basis for just about a year before life got in the way and I got to a place that I just did not have time to go to the gym. I did not cancel my membership right away and that is my fault. However, when I did try to cancel I found out that I had to keep paying for the next few months because apparently it's in the contract. Even though I was outside of my year-long contract I was still supposed to provide a 60-day notice for cancellation. My question is why? Why do I need to give notice? Other than you want to continue to charge me for another 60 days for a service that I am not able to use? I cannot figure out why it's necessary and nobody has been able to explain that to me other than "it's in the contract." It's quite the sketchy business practice. Moving forward I won't be able to recommend Fit4Life. Life happens and circumstances change. It would be nice if they didn't feel the need to gouge me for another 2-3 months for no good reason.

This place has gone down hill in my own opinion! I have been a member for awhile. 8 years or so. I lost track. I saw someone working out with his shirt off, the water from the fountain was brown, trash everywhere and quite frankly, I have been wasting my money on a over crowded facility. There are days I walk in and have to walk back out due to the crowds. I see benches broken and machines that need repairs! Taking my business somewhere who cares about the cleanliness and well-being of its members and gear! I cancelled my membership with 30 days written notice and now they are saying it needs to be 60 days. Bunch of thieves trying to get an additional payment out of you. Terrible business ethics! I keep reading the same reply to everyones frustrations. We have agreements we have to follow. yada-yada-yada. How about your agreement to your customers! Remember, without us there is no Fit-4-Life.

I really enjoy this gym, As a new mom and a gym beginner it’s really hard to make time for yourself and their childcare area especially allows me to do that. All the people who work there are always super nice and helpful but I want to say Allie in the kidszone is so great with my 9 month old daughter it makes me comfortable coming to the gym and finding that time for myself (even if it’s only 20 minutes sometimes)

I recently purchased a home in the Garner/Clayton area. I came from South Florida where gyms were on every street corner. Fit 4 Life has everything you need to meet a variety of fitness goals. 24 hour access, updated equipment, enough fumbles/plates, a variety of different cardio equipment, classes and an amazing kid care. I’ve been coming to Fit4Life - Cleveland for about 6 months and I have a personal trainer, Danielle Kopper once a week. Because of my age, I wanted to work on strength, mobility, balance and strengthening my core. I had an injured shoulder when I started at the gym, and Danielle worked around the injury and still tailored my workout perfectly to fit my goals. Now, 6 months in, I am no longer considering surgery for my shoulder. The pain is gone. Thanks to Danielle. I have been coming to Fit4life on Cleveland rd for about a month and it is the best gym I have ever been too. The gym has its own app where you can view and book classes which makes it very simple. They offer personal training at affordable prices that are custom to your fitness goals. The gym is clean and well organized as well as spacious. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming and Kerri at the front desk makes the best protein smoothies for after your workout. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to improve their fitness goals!

Staff is great, and gym is clean. I came to fit4life, because I fell in the love with the atmosphere. I signed up and shortly after I had a family emergency and had to relocate. There cancellation is absolutely insane, requesting to see proof of residency before you can cancel. I won’t be able to provide that for weeks because of my situation. They sat me down for a hour talking about everything this gym offers when I signed up, but failed to mention that. When I move back, I will not be returning to this gym.
