If I could leave 0 stars I would. I worked with this gym for YEARS before having issues. They have terrible employee turnover which is what started the issues I have with them.

I was paying monthly for PT. They were unable to provide me with any appointments for more than 4 weeks because they had no employees! I asked for a refund for the month they were unable to provide services, which they declined. So instead I asked to cancel my PT contract. They insisted instead that I could use my remaining 18 appointments over the next 5 weeks, which was literally impossible because they didn’t have the staff to get me those appointments in the first place.

I reached out to the manager at this location AND another location to try to keep my membership with almost no communication from either of them even after I asked to escalate the issue to a higher manager. I’ve caught them in a lie after they stated the decision to not provide the refund came from the district manager. The decision was made by the location manager within SECONDS of me stating I was cancelling my contract. The DM was not contacted at that point and I have never spoken directly to them despite repeated requests to. I’ve been nothing but professional with them and they have no reason to not be returning my messages.

They are continuing to add charges to my account even though I asked for all membership to be stopped in October and I haven’t been in the gym since August. They are threatening to send me to collections for the unpaid balances that are continuing to go up.

If you’re a service member, I strongly recommend avoiding this gym until they correct these problems.
Good facility, but poor compliance, no accountability, and a complete lack of understanding of SCRA protections for service members.
The gym has good facilities, but if you are in the service and receive PCS orders, be very cautious. Their team does not honor the protections under the SCRA (Servicemembers Civil Relief Act) regarding contract termination.
Your contract is supposed to terminate effective the day you submit your PCS orders, not on the date they decide to approve it and not on your report date.
Even after explaining the SCRA clearly, they kept giving inconsistent and incorrect answers and keep charging me showing they do not take this law seriously and are unfamiliar with basic military protections.
Because they failed to acknowledge a very simple legal requirement, this matter is now being handled by the JAG Office.

I absolutely Love Fit4life! I have been coming to this gym for four years and it’s really amazing because it’s so peaceful and quiet. It’s one of the smaller gyms, but it’s still extremely spacious at the same time. The kids club is also amazing. The reason why I put 3 stars is I was wanting to have a Zumba class at this area so I called them and ask do you need a another Zumba instructor for your business and she said cool come over. When I came they a lady told me they don’t need instructors right now and I need at least 4 people to start before I come here well you should have told me that on the phone before I came now! I like this facility, although it is small compared to other Ft4life. It has everything I need as a senior. I wish it had a better kettlebell setup but overall this is a good facility. they play terrible music really loud (in fairness all the gyms do this) while everyone has headphone or ear buds, you figure it out. It's a tiny gym that supposedly offers a kid zone. It seems more often than not when I visit this location with my kid they are closed. So if that's something you desire so you can workout, go to the Hope Mills or Raeford locations. This one has the essentials but that only matters if you can get the workout in.

The worst placeto have a membership with. Been working on getting out of the contract for months due to a military move and still waiting on PEAK ( the company they outsource to handle money and disputes) Being told that even with months advance they want more money and want to end the contract predated not when the request was first issued. The scheme they pull to rope people in and keep them there should have legal teams breathing down their necks. The contract states one thing and Peak does another. They don't have a real corporate and individuals who have worked there in the past run the clubs just to own one. A complete joke on cleaning and rules are bent in the child area to not " make certain patrons mad." Go to golds or somewhere else.

Update: After I went back a few more times again, the smell was not there.

This gym is great overall! We recently moved here and used to go to another location.

I’m giving three stars because, for the second time yesterday, there was a strong smell in the treadmill area. This isn’t the first occurrence. I’m not sure what they’re spraying, but it’s unpleasant and makes it difficult to run while breathing that air. Usually, when the smell isn’t present, the area is busy, but yesterday there were only two people there, likely due to the overwhelming air freshener. The area was also empty last time the smell was there. I was on the treadmill for less than 5 minutes and had to leave because the smell was overbearing. I thought that it was a one time thing, but it seems like this is a consistent thing.

Please avoid using any sprays in the gym, especially since many people have allergies or asthma. The smell is too strong to work out comfortably. It just doesn’t make sense.

24/7, relatively inexpensive ($49/month) and rarely crowded in the mornings and afternoons. Lockers with showers are available and it's bring your own lock. Also have inhouse trainers if you wish and a smoothie bar.

Weights: 4 power racks with bumper plates, 4 benches with racks, dumbbells to at least 100lbs, all the standard machines, small turf area approximately 20m long, kettlebell set up to at least 50lbs, bilat cable rack, and TRX/band sets with a "jungle gym" for all those CrossFit upper body pull up exercises. For cardio:, 10 treadmills, 6 ellipticals, 4 bikes (2 recumbent), 2 stair climbers, 2 assault bikes, a hand bike and a Jacob's ladder

They put you through a whole process to sign up only to explain the pricing at the very end which is about 200 in upfront fees as well as some more for the actual membership. Plus this gym specifically is very small, but you still gotta pay full price because you have access to all the other gyms. But who goes to any other gym besides the one closest to them anyway except for specific circumstances.

If I could leave a zero I would. I have not lived in NC for a year now. I canceled my membership, all good and well, had to wait the three months, no problem. I continued getting charged for MY GUEST??? This entire time I'm getting charged for a guest added to my account directly from MY BANK ACCOUNT?? Are you serious? I contacted customer support and they said THEY need to cancel from MY ACCOUNT? Terrible gym with horrible contracts. Do not reccomend.

I my gym was in Hope Mills and great place. We joined at Gillis Hill prior to Hope Mills opening and to the membership would transfer. That was lie number 1. When time for renewal we renewed at Hope Mills. The forced Hope Mills to send my membership back to Gillis Hill because that manager tried to help us. That manager got into trouble but they lied to him making it lie number 2. I am now with Silver Sneakers and was charged a yearly upgrade fee. Call twice and was told the general manager was in a meeting. Traci said she saw where I had called but had to research if I would get a refund. She read the notes. I told them to cancel my membership ship.. Why do you need to pay an upgrade fee when you are on contract? I am contacting Silver Sneakers.

When a year came around and we wanted to cancel they allowed my husband to but not me. I was told the employee who signed us up was new at the time and accidentally signed me up for a 2 year contract. After repeatedly telling them to take me off their call roster (in person and over the phone), they still keep calling and texting for membership and reviews. This happen after I initially signed up and said I don’t want to get calls/texts, after I had to do my yearly renewal and finally this is after they cancelled their renewal with Active & Fit and gave members less than 24hr notice that their memberships were cancelled.

I would have given this place five stars for its services as well as its location and hours. However, if you are forced to move away due to an emergency and there is no Fit4Life location where you will go, you will still need to pay for two months of service as they are seemingly unwilling to make any exceptions to their rule that one must provide 60 days notice before canceling. This practice is both greedy and predatory! So, if you can somehow predict the future and know you will be staying in town without a neighbor's house fire forcing you out of yours, this place is recommended. Otherwise, absolutely not!

The facility itself is fine. However, I do not recommend personal training to anyone. It's a scam meant to lock you into a contract with no way out. I had several trainers over my time there. No consistency, no workout plans, little to no communication. I had believed my PT had been canceled early as I requested. Turns out my trainer just quit after I made the request, with zero notification, and continued to charge me for training for 2 months. Good luck getting your membership canceled if you move. I've sent a dozen email and phone calls with no luck.
If you have any membership issues, don't expect any help.

This is by far my favorite of their locations. The vibe is very good, not a bunch of Instagram models making videos so you won't need to worry about being posted online without consent. Sensory wise the music here isn't too loud either. I can hear my own music without blasting my ear drums and if I forget my headphones it's no problem. The music they play is nice and the acoustics of the building are pleasant enough. The trainers don't hassle you for sessions, the facility is very clean and the staff is just all around excellent. This location has a Jacobs ladder too! If this sounds like your vibe it's definitely worth the drive. Overall I am super pleased 👍 They are open 24 hrs and have a kids care facility with video monitoring. The hours for childcare are on the fit for life app.

Arturo, Zumba instructor, choreography to all songs made Zumba so easy and fun to dance. It didn’t feel like a workout. However you will be soak in sweat at the end of class. I started out unable to pass ACFT (Army Combat Fitness Test) in 2019. In the past couple of years, I would be stressed out and trained very hard and only barely pass the ACFT November 2022. Since then, I only did Zumba with Arturo M-F without any other trainings. To my surprised, I moderately passed all ACFT events in May 2023 with with a better result time on my sprint drag carry😊. I joined the gym in January 2023. The only class I attend is Zumba with Arturo . I follow him 3 days a week to the Gillis Hill fit4 life gym and 2 days at the Hope Mills site because I enjoy his classes.I really appreciate the hard work that Arturo puts in his sessions that are rigorous but beneficial. I have lost 35 pounds with motivation and support and I am very grateful to him. I just wanted to let you know that this experience has changed my life. I can speak base on my experience that Arturo is the best Zumba instructor I know. I try not to miss his classes.#Zumba Gillis Hill fit4life#

Recently renovated, equipment is nice and their are qr codes to scan on most of everything that takes you to a youtube video in case you are unsure of how to use it. Great and welcoming environment!

Signed up for membership back in September. Was told I could cancel at anytime (the main reason I even signed up). Was NOT told that I had to pay a cancellation fee PLUS the charges during the 60 day process. Have been trying to cancel since October but was told that I cannot without paying for the membership fee. There are also two annual fees outside of the monthly contract that are quite hefty. VERY SHADY business, the lady who told me that I could cancel anytime was only considering sales and looking out for herself because they make commissions off the people they sell to. Hence, why she left out cancellation information.
Please try better and cheaper gyms, focus on bodyweight/calisthenics exercises, or invest in a home gym if possible. I found a different and better gym shortly after signing here, thus why I haven't really used this expensive gym which contains salesman who are only concerned about the money they make from commission. Not speaking for all staff, obviously, but it's not a good look. Please look at for the aforementioned warning signs.

Edit: they made a response to me how they’re “transparent” yet I’m clearly detailing my experience on how they weren’t. Also straight up lying about “conversations” we’ve had discussing this exact issue is a bad look. I’ve never spoken to the owner not once. How about instead of doubling down, you apologize on behalf of your staff who leave information out? Too shady to give a refund despite me never using your services since. Also the “process” in which you can “cancel at anytime” is a fee of $150+ USD. You have to BUY out the contract which wasn’t mentioned at all. Please don’t try to spin this like it’s on me for trusting what I was told.

The staff at fit4life were great. They make you feel at home when you walk through the doors. They sit down with you and explain everything, then give you a walkthrough of the gym. I would definitely recommend this gym.

I personally have not used any of the facilities. My wife and I joined mostly for her. The people that work there are really nice, but if your intimidated by gyms mainly because your not really use to them, than the experience is no different than any other gym, unless you want to pay extra for personalized trainers, which sadly we could not do. If that option is out of reach for you, than walking in there is really no different than walking into Planet Fitness, your lost as to what to do, and your intimidated, except it cost more.

Smaller of the gyms I've been to. I thought I was going to like split floors. Turns out, those stairs after leg day are not the best idea.
It's very cramped, the machines show wear and tear which surprised me since it's not an older gym. For a late night workout it fit my needs, I couldn't imagine going during peak hours. I'll stick to a different location.

Went to join the Fit4Life at Good Middling Drive. I must say it was a great experience! I was met by Kay (hope I'm spelling it right) who welcomed me and got me started. She showed me around the facility and answered all my questions. She spent time noting my goals and listening to my challenges. Even got a smoothie when we were all done. Great first impression! Thanks so much!
