I’m writing to express my deep disappointment with the customer service I experienced at Fitness Connection in Greenville, North Carolina. I came in hoping to use the five-day guest pass, something I know has previously been offered after showing valid ID.

Upon arrival, I was told by a staff member—who introduced herself as the manager ( consuela javier)—that I needed to fill out a form. I did so promptly, but after that, I was left waiting for nearly 10 minutes while she chatted with others and did not acknowledge me. My partner and friends were already inside waiting, and I was still outside, feeling ignored and disrespected.

Eventually, she brought me to another table and began asking a long series of personal questions, including detailed fitness goals. While I understand some information might be needed, the number and nature of the questions felt excessive and intrusive. I politely told her that some of the questions felt too personal and uncomfortable to answer. She responded by saying that if I didn’t answer them all, I wouldn’t be allowed to enter the gym.

Even after I answered the remaining questions and followed her instructions, she insisted on giving me a mandatory tour of the gym, despite my clear communication that I was already familiar with the layout and had someone inside to assist me. I felt pressured and not respected in my boundaries.

At the end of this unnecessarily complicated and uncomfortable process, she told me I was no longer eligible for the five-day trial because I had made the process “too complex.”

This was extremely disappointing. What was supposed to be a simple trial visit turned into a frustrating and disrespectful experience. I felt unwelcome and unfairly treated, and I do not believe this is how new potential members should be treated—especially when they’re considering joining and paying for a membership.

I am submitting this review so others are aware of the experience I had, and I am also filing a formal complaint in hopes that this situation is addressed and future guests are treated with more professionalism and respect.
