Left a negative review after having a negative experience with my membership. I tried to cancel my membership via phone call with the manager and he told me he would cancel it and there was no paper work. He said since I was on a contract to wait until the contract ends in July so I don’t have to pay an extra fee and I agreed July went by and I was under the impression the manager cancelled my membership, but I got charged the following month. I reached out and again he said he would fix it, but that I could not get refunded. That’s when I left a negative review.

Owner reached out to me same day I left original review, asking to call.

In the phone call he offered to refund me for the month of August in a way to resolve the situation, but suggested I take down the review if I wanted to get refunded. I never agreed to do so, and in fact decided to update review according to how he handled the resolution.

He refunded me in full, but reminded me via text the review was still up on Google. I forgot to respond, so he texted me again a couple days later to request again for me to take down the review because I was refunded money. I told him I updated the review to accurately reflect how he resolved the situation. He then proceeded to text me that I must call him at my earliest convenience. I did not respond so he texted again a couple minutes later that if I did not call him he would have to rebill.

There is more to this story, but with how the owner handled it I do not feel it worth my time. Just be careful when doing business here, pay attention to the contract.

I was a previous member here a few years back, was told that I was on a monthly basis and that when I didn’t want to continue with them I could just stop paying by the person who signed me up, as well as givin a discounted price, clearly this was a lie as I quit a few months into it, having had things come up.

I went in today now that I am in a bit better place in life to sign back up only to be told there was a 900 dollar balance on my account, as well as the fact the owner was blatantly lying about signing me up, and threatened to send it to collections when I’m not even in a contract, or anything of the likes.

The front staff was also incredibly rude and short with people, not a ton of equipment, and it’s quite small for what it is, honestly wouldn’t recommend them unless it’s your only option and even then be warned.

Edit: The owner responded and you can kinda see how they are as a person, I won’t deny I was offered a 50 dollar bill, period for absolutely nothing, but turned it down, and instead offered to pay a bit more for my first month in order for this to be water under the bridge, just because this gym is in a very convenient spot for me, but I digress and won’t update this matter anymore have other things I need to deal with.

It's nice having an actual gym in the area. Dumbbells over 100lbs, squat racks, free weight machines, it's a dying breed, and I love it.

Gem in Angier!
Open every hour of the day! It's well spaced out. There is staff during the day. I've never had any problems at this gym. Their rates are unbeatable.

I liked the gym, but the location didn’t work out for me. I thought it was an account that I could cancel anytime, but because I had signed up for automatic payments, I was placed in an annual contract. That was my fault for not double checking the paperwork. Be careful if you are not sure that the gym will work for you before you sign for automatic payments. Louis in Angier is awesome, the equipment is clean and they have everything you need for a good work out. The one recommendation that I would have for Forrest Fitness is to have a way to leave a message for customers who can't call during working hours. Otherwise, totally awesome facility with a home town feel to it!

Disappointed that it is geared mostly for men. No lockers for women and all the equiptment is sized for men. No ladies equiptment. Would like to work out to get in shape again and keep it. I'm not a body builder. Just like to get cardio and tone up again.

Sketchy. A woman had a male pull down his pants in front of her while she was working out. Staff called her a “Karen” and did nothing .
Shame on them. I recently purchased a membership and planned on going during unstaffed hours before work at 4am… now I am horrified and just wasted $35

Great place to work out. They offer month to month and discount price for students. Its always plenty room to work out. With the key fob you get once joined, you get a piece of security that not just anyone can come in. Even when I had a friend come to visit me. I step outside to talk to respect the gym rules, of being a member to enter.

My fiancee and I have a membership here, and we love it.

The equipment is kept clean and everything is in great working order. The only thing I have noticed that I'm not too fond of is a certain smell at the facility. I cannot place it, but it's there every time we go in.

Great gym that stays very clean. It gets kind of crowded in the evenings, but we've recently switched to early morning and it's much slower. The staff members have always been very friendly and helpful!

Its open 24/7 fot members with a key card and they have a wide variety of machines and a dance room its not too crowded too, everytime I come there is usually around 2-3 people so I dont feel awkward
