Our daughter danced there for 7 years and now realize we should’ve left a lot sooner than we did. We dealt with so much drama from the owner(and still are) but stayed because of the friendships she had with the other dancers. There are plenty of other quality dance studios in our area to consider.

I have had the distinct privilege of guest teaching and adjudicating pre-competition performances at Grand Central Academy of Performing Arts over the past several years. It is one of my favorite dance education centers in which I love to spend time teaching! I cannot say enough about this studio. Just walking into the studio is amazing to me!
Students who attend GCAPA, whether recreational dancers or competitive dancers are well rounded and well educated, from the tiniest dancer on up. They learn all aspects of dance from proper technique, class and stage etiquette, proper terminology and so much more. They are so supportive of each other and earn high praises from their teachers regularly.
Students receive exemplary instruction through the GCAPAcurriculum which uniquely offers students the opportunity to individually progress, as well as to gain confidence and success and pride in themselves and their performance in ballet, jazz, lyrical and more.
BUT I MUST TELL YOU the special added bonuses of the outstanding tap, musical theater and acrobatics programs are exemplary and something I do not get to experience often in other studios.
If you are looking for an outstanding tap program, THIS IS YOUR STUDIO! This program is comprehensive, offering several levels of instruction while exposing students to diverse styles of tap. Wendy is one of the best tap instructors I know!
GCAPA’s musical theater program is one of the best! It is truly a gem in my book, and I am thrilled it is an offered program at GCAPA! Many studios do not offer a Musical Theater option. Students learn to express themselves creatively, become analytical, improve dance performance and grow an appreciation for the arts through the curriculum offered here. They learn to think on their feet.
My specialty is as an acrobatics instructor so I am always impressed by the hard work that these acro dancers show in my classes. I always see great progress in their skills, strength and flexibility each time I teach at GCAPA and I always look forward to my time spent with them! The acrobatics program here is absolutely 5 Star too.

My son started at Grand Central Sept 2022 as the only boy in the studio! He was welcomed with open arms and treated with equality! When we was nervous to perform in front of a live audience, the studio owner, Miss Wendy, went above and beyond to make him more comfortable! From then on, he has only shown improvement! Towards the end of last year, a few more young boys joined his dance class and this year, the studio started a boys only dance class! We are very satisfied with Grand Central and live being a part of the dance family! 10/10 recommend for boys and girls! The performances are such a joy to watch!

I recently enrolled my 3 year old in the Sparkle Babies program. I’m very impressed so far! The teacher is excellent and very patient with toddlers who might be fairly easily distracted. I also really appreciate how structured all communication is - they have well written, detailed handbooks that tell you everything you need to know. They also use the Band app which is very easy to use and makes sure you have all of the information you need in a timely manner.

Grand Central Academy was recommended to us by some dear friends, and it has not disappointed. Prior to enrolling my two year old, I watched many routines that our friends were in. Now my little one is finally two and we were able to enroll her in ready set dance, the two year old class, and she absolutely loves it.
