Jacob, the trainer/owner at heavy bells is honestly the most knowledgeable, welcoming, and hilarious trainer I have ever met! I have been having knee pain for years and Jacob has helped me develop exercises that have made my knee pain sooo much better. I've never met a trainer so passionate about helping others and his community. If you have a part of your body that's hurting you, come talk to Jacob - he will get you fixed up right. Just come prepared to bust out laughing, cause this dude will have you rolling.

Finished my 6th session today along with a body weight workshop Jacob put on last month. This Gym and environment is so necessary! I am somwhat athletic and have started to think about my nervous system and proper and safe movement and it’s opened up a new world of just feeling better. I recommend this Gym for any personal goal you may have. You truly feel 1% better each go and you will feel welcomed.

Coach Jacob brings with him an astonishing amount of subject matter expertise across several disciplines of fitness - from traditional strength training, to CrossFit, to more fluid and mobility focused programs involving everything from kettle bells to rope flow to clubs and maces.

Heavy Bells is a space where individuals can come to learn a way to connect to their health journey in a way that listens to their body, their mind, and their spirit. Jacob's patience and understanding with every person in the gym, and meeting them exactly where they are - both physically and mentally - in their fitness journey helps not only produce incredible results, but an insane amount of enjoyment and excitement around working out.

I first went to Jacob back in 2023, years removed from a consistent workout regimen and dealing with severe anxiety and a serious lack of confidence around all areas of my strength, physicality, and body. Over the last 2 years, I have seen my life improve dramatically in ways I never would have imagined - all coming from my understanding, excitement, and commitment to fitness. My diet, personal life, professional life, and overall happiness have all improved the more I've dedicated to following through on my workout plans and fitness efforts.

I have seen my strength boom in short periods of time following Jacob's custom program for me - just last month I made a 45 pound max jump in only 4 weeks of a program. This would not have been possible without Jacob's knowledge, his passion for fitness, and the space that he has built at Heavy Bells.

If you feel like you want to make a change in how you control how your body and mind feel - going to Jacob and opening that door to learning through his teaching is a great way to start. 10/10 would always and forever recommend Heavy Bells to anyone at any point in their fitness career.

Jacob is truly the most knowledgeable and passionate trainers/coaches that I have ever had the pleasure of working out under. His devotion to learning more and more exercise theory in order to elevate his training programs is unmatched. I never liked going to the gym because all the equipment intimidated me and made me feel very self conscious. However, going to Heavy Bells is probably the most fun I ever had working out! The group classes are set up so that I can pursue my individual fitness goals through a variety of exercises that are always updated based on my progress/mood that day. I also like the punchcard system, so I am not bound to a monthly fee and can make the most out of my time in the gym.

You will not find a better or more caring trainer than Jacob. I trained with Jacob for nearly three years and by the end of those three years had surpassed every single goal I had set for myself by a mile. Jacob will take into account your personal situation and he will make sure you are getting the care and training you deserve. I have struggled my whole life with putting on weight and muscle. In the three years I trained with Jacob I went from 170 pounds to 210. In that time I had several accidents related to mountain climbing and jiu jitsu that should have derailed those gains but Jacob did not let that happen and each time I got injured doing my other hobbies, Jacob got me back even stronger than I was before the injury.

I had to move away for work and I have been to several other trainers who “specialize” in various kinds of exercise programs and unfortunately have regressed significantly from where I was when I left Heavy Bells.

I’m telling you, I’ve been around the world trying different programs and Heavy Bells is the only one who’s figured it out for me. In fact the primary reason I am trying to move back to the area is to re-enroll at Heavy Bells and get in shape again.

Great classes with personalized instruction. I told Jacob, my trainer, what I wanted to work on to meet my personal goals, and he absolutely delivered! Small group fitness and personal training options. Jacob makes working out so much fun and is a library of fitness knowledge and techniques. Plenty of class times to choose from so there's always something that works with my schedule. Heavy Bells is a great addition to the Asheville fitness scene and I highly recommend their gym!
