It’s been years since I last stepped into a yoga class, and I honestly don’t know why I stayed away so long. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the sense of community at this studio. Safe and warm are the first words that come to mind.

After my very first session back, I even shed a tear — the good kind.

I also love that they offer wellness services right on site. The whole area feels like a little pocket of healing, with therapists, acupuncturists, and massage therapists all nearby.

I feel like I’ve found a small safe haven here. I felt so welcome!! Thank you.

The staff was very sweet and accommodating. I arrived late and stressed and annoyed at myself but they checked me in quickly and allowed me take class. The class happened to be about self compassion, which was exactly what I needed. The teacher Catherine set a wonderful tone for the class, and the energy of the room and studio was soothing and supportive. 10/10 experience

iShine is more than a yoga studio- it is a community of support, it is a home, it is family, and it is pure love. My first class at iShine was a parking lot class in 2021 during the pandemic. From the parking lot to the studio, the teachers at iShine excel at making you feel seen and comfortable. If you are looking for a great workout, you’ll get that and SO MUCH MORE here. The teachers here do an amazing job and capturing all aspects of yoga- the postures, breath work, meditation, and amazing themes.
I also graduated from the RYT200 yoga teacher training here at iShine. When I tell you it changed my life- that’s an understatement. Genevieve and Megan lead such an enlightening program! I entered not thinking that I would teach yoga at the end- I just wanted to learn (they have a program for that now too!) - and now I cannot imagine not teaching yoga. If you’re interested in becoming a yoga teacher I cannot think of a better place to learn and get certified.
If you’re looking for more, iShine also offers holistic wellness dharma coaching with Cathrine, Ayurveda with Megan, Acupuncture with Dr. Claudia, and Heart Math with Anita. I have taken sessions with each of these amazing women who have helped me to learn so much about myself. Each time I speak with one of these amazing humans, I grow and become better myself.
Run don’t walk to iShine!!

Finding a yoga studio that feels like home is rare, but that’s exactly what iShine Yoga Studio has become for us. My special needs teen, who is a passionate yogi, and I used to visit numerous studios. That was until we discovered iShine. Now, we can’t imagine going anywhere else.

From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in a welcoming and warm atmosphere. The staff and instructors are incredibly friendly, making us feel like part of a family. They have a unique way of inspiring and encouraging each student, no matter their skill level or personal challenges.

The sense of protection and care at iShine is unparalleled. iShine isn’t just a yoga studio; it’s a sanctuary. The positive energy and nurturing environment make it a place we eagerly look forward to visiting. It’s not just about practicing yoga; it’s about being part of a community that uplifts and inspires.

We’re so grateful to have found iShine. It’s truly our home now, and we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

I spent a month at iShine while visiting a friend in Charlotte, what an amazing place in every way! I am fortunate to have visited many different yoga studios around the world, and iShine has managed to get it right in every area. The space is so cozy, and they have every prop you could want. There is consistency to the way the studio operates, yet each practitioner brings their own personality to the flow. The flows are challenging, yet can always be modified. They challenge your spiritual growth/thought processes just as much as the body. To say they are welcoming wouldn’t be doing justice-I felt like I was practicing with friends. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what made it so cohesive and finely tuned until I took a couple classes with Genevieve, the owner. Infectious energy, thought provoking, and so funny—be prepared to 😂 during your flow. Every time I left I felt better both mind and body. A true gift to the Charlotte area. 🧘‍♀️

Awesome studio with amazing teachers and classes. The studio is welcoming and inclusive of everyone. Took a leap of faith and attended the Costa Rica Yoga retreat which was incredible. Can't say enough good things about my entire experience with iShine Yoga.

This studio is my home and these people have become my family. I am a 15 year practitioner and have visited studios from coast to coast as I travel for a living. Yoga has becoming my place of refuge and the practice, my sanctuary. The past couple of years have been the hardest I will likely ever face. I can say, with complete certainty that iShine is one of the primary reasons I am not only surviving but thriving. I have found myself again, deepened my physical asana, GREATLY heightened my emotional intelligence and most importantly established life long friendship and bonds within this incredibly special and coveted community. I am convinced that if you are looking for your new home, this will be it for you as well. You will be welcomed with warm smiles, open arms and genuine love and care. Thank you iShine for being my center.

I don’t give 5 stars lightly in this review. iShine is my favorite yoga studio in the entire Charlotte metro, and I’ve been to many yoga studios all over the country.

Because I have low blood pressure, no matter how fit I am, I’m still liable to pass out in hot, fast-paced yoga classes, which are still the most common type of class offered today in the U.S.

iShine offers a variety of classes at a slower pace that are still delightfully challenging for my body. They offer a variety of slow flow, hatha, restorative, and deep stretch classes. I also appreciate that the heated classes are merely a relaxing warmth, not the sauna-like environment you encounter at some studios. (Are those studios operating under the premise that pain and punishment somehow makes one virtuous?)

Most yoga classes I’ve tried have been so Westernized that they’ve lost the entire mental and spiritual aspect of yoga, keeping only the physical movement aspect. iShine is blissfully different. No matter the instructor, every class begins with the instructor talking us through a particular topic related to spirituality and well being. This makes each class fully rejuvenating not only for my body, but my mind, heart, and spirit as well.

I also love seeing the same friendly faces and the feeling of community that I have from attending iShine for over a year.

My only spot of feedback is that I wish iShine would standardize that instructors always ask for consent before touching students. Some instructors don’t ask at all and it’s stressful trying to figure out how to communicate when I don’t want to be touched by them.

I cannot say enough good about this studio! The community is amazing. I have found my tribe in the people here! I started taking outdoor yoga classes here towards the end of the pandemic. I was always made to feel non-judged, loved and welcome. Once the indoor classes opened up, I couldn’t stop coming back. I recently graduated from the 200 hour yoga teacher training which I cannot recommend enough. The teacher training program at iShine Yoga & Wellness is life changing. I entered into this program thinking that I was going to learn about the physical practice of yoga and the history/philosophy of yoga. I was so pleasantly surprised that the experience was so much more than that. In this program, I learned so many aspects of the 8 limbs of yoga, Ayurvedic knowledge, physical anatomy, about Ennegram, the Chakras, and so much more! On top of all the content knowledge, I was able to rediscover myself as a person. I feel so much more confident on the life path that I am on, the person that I am and becoming, and the people that I surround myself with. I came out of the YTT experience with new friends, knowledge to last a lifetime, and an eagerness to learn more. I am so thankful to Genevieve, Megan, Anita, and all the other ambassadors at iShine for an experience of a lifetime! If you are considering enrolling in YTT, you will not regret doing it- it was a life changing experience and worth every penny!

I was once in a class where one student and the teacher had a conversation about her Instagram posts that should be a book or something. Then, they went into a diatribe about how worthless men are nowadays. A LONG diatribe full of insults. And I was the only man in the class. I almost started crying because I thought I was in a safe space. I was so disturbed I didn't say what was wrong on the way out, but that didn't stop the yoga studio from CONTACTING MY EMPLOYER AND SAYING BAD THINGS ABOUT ME.

I am an army veteran and yoga has helped me with suicidal thoughts and if you yoga studios are mean to men who come in there with no friends, know that you might be what makes him abandon hope and end his life. #22aday

Yoga teacher training at iShine was a fine balance between personal growth and traditional teachings like the Bhagavad Gita. The two main teachers (Genevieve and Megan) complemented each others' skill sets and provided space for each student to find their individual path to teaching yoga. Additional teachers were brought in to teach specific segments. I came to this in my 60's with a lot of self doubt and more than a little reluctance; I recommend this training whole-heartedly. I've learned everyBODY can teach yoga.

Being new to the Charlotte/Huntersville area, I immediately asked around to find a local yoga studio. Ishine was recommended several times right away by neighbors in the community.

Immediately upon walking in the doors to the studio, I felt a sense of welcome. The energy there was exactly what I was looking for… warm, inviting, beautiful space to practice in with wonderful teachers with so many options for classes. It felt like I was home.

I decided to join in on the 2021/2022 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Ishine. This is something I had considered in years past, however I know now that I waited for a reason. What I expected out of the training was how to teach & sequence a yoga class, which was true but wow it was SO much more. This teacher training was an experience I’ll never forget. We were taken through the most beautiful, soul opening experience over the last 8 months. The training was so well thought out, the leaders are compassionate & knowledgeable. We learned about ourselves and how what we each bring into our classes is unique & important. I learned that I have something to share with the world.

Thank you to Genevieve, Megan, Anita, Catherine.. and everyone else at Ishine. If you are considering a yoga teacher training, this one was incredible.

Ishine is for everyone & anyone. Whether it’s your first class ever or if you’ve been practicing for years. Grateful to have landed here.

If I could give more stars, I would, but alas- 5 shall have to do.
Ishine is more than a studio- it is.a place I found myself- deep healing of wounds I've carried for my entire adult life, a cure for all of what ails me, and a spiritual path- lit with the other iShiners. Genevieve, and her team, have captured nothing short of magic in this community they have built. It defies a real description, other than to say- I feel home, I feel whole, I feel rooted, I feel seen after having intensively studied yoga under Genevieve and Megan at the studio. So many deep feels to be felt, and I will forever be 'lighting it up' with the iShine community. Thank you isn't enough. XOXO

Ishine is the yoga studio where you feel at home and free to let it all go at the door. When I moved to huntersville 2 and a half years ago, I never thought I would find such an amasing community and inspirational yoga environment that would soon turn into my yoga home. The teachers here are diverse, welcoming and each bringing something unique. The yoga and community inspired me to do my yoga teacher training through ishine. Doing the teacher training was one of the most amasing experiences I've ever had. I grew and learned in ways that will benefit me for years to come. I am very thankful to have such a bright and loving place to do yoga and find peace any time I need to.

I just completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at iShine, and it was THE most fun and transformative experience I have ever had. My life has changed for the so-much better because of it, and I have gained a tribe of friends that give new meaning to the word, friend. I was truly unaware of all the beautiful ways I was going to grow myself with the safe, loving support and embrace of such caring and encouraging trainers and friends. It’s truly turned my life upside-down, and I feel I’m on the path I should be traveling. I’m sad it’s over and can’t wait to begin my 300-hour, hopefully with my classmate sisters again and many others who feel passionately about the healing power of yoga. iShine YTT is delicious! Every minute of it. Sign up!

BEWARE If you give this studio any money - you will NEVER see it again. I just got off the phone with the owner (Genevieve) after requesting a refund for the classes I purchased via email as my account was not accessible??!! and she was condescending (very 'yogi' like in this studio as of late) and stated that NO yoga studios offer refunds to customers as that is how they 'normal' business practice.
Based on the conversation, I expect that iShine needs my $177.50 more than I do, even though I'm retired and planning on moving out of state.
JUST BEWARE!!!

She's the perfect mix of meditation and work, and she honestly makes you look inside yourself every class. My body feels so much better after yoga here. And she's always willing to challenge or modify down.

iShine is the best yoga studio in the area. It is filled with amazing teachers, a welcoming and caring vibe, a variety of wonderful classes and a ton of workshops. I love how iShine incorporates their business with the community - farm fresh pick-up and yoga at Whole Foods are just two examples.

iShine is by far the best yoga studio I've practiced at to date. I've only taken prenatal with Genevieve and I can honestly say that was the best decision I made while pregnant. Not only are the classes top-notch, the community at iShine is unmatched. Everyone is so nice and open and it feels like a second home while you are there. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this studio. Go check it out!!

Wonderful people - glad to have this lovely yoga studio so close to my home in Huntersville. I went on the most amazing Yoga & Surfing retreat (with iShine) to Nicaragua in 2016 - would highly recommend and do it again in a heartbeat.

I have minimal yoga experience and signed up for the prenatal yoga series. It has been one of the most enjoyable classes ever! I even signed up for a second series! Genevieve is such an amazing instructor, she truly and deeply cares for the people she teaches and creates an amazing environment. I highly highly recommend taking a class from her and sharing in the love/zest she has for life and wellness!

I have been on three retreats with Genevieve and each one has been magical. All of the trips have been different, but they have each without fail provided the following: 1) Amazing groups of people. Good people just seem to flock to Genevieve and you will leave with new friends. 2) A large variety of yoga. There is a lot of diversity in the practice and you get to try different flavors to get a feel for what your body needs... vinyasa flows, targeted workshops, moon flows, and deep stretch/relaxation to name a few. 3) Increased mindfulness and relaxation brought about through the yoga and guided meditation. 4) Fun. There are activities a plenty. I've tried so many new things like surfing and acro yoga. But if you'd rather relax, everyone is very supportive of that as well. I've gone off to nap and journal a time or two. 5) Awesome food. Foodies unite! 6) Leaving feeling like a million bucks. Yoga twice a day, active excursions, whole food, and the lights of everyone surrounding you are the best medicine.
I could go on and on. In conclusion, try a retreat...or two or three. You won't regret it.

I attended Genevieve's new Sunday evening Candlelight class, and it was all that I hoped it would be. It was restorative, relaxing, and an excellent way to close the week, and to prepare for the new.
Thanks so much Genevieve!

Our transverse baby finally flipped head down in the last weeks of my pregnancy! I credit Genevieve's prenatal yoga class — plus prayer and handstands in the neighborhood pool ;) Thanks, Genevieve, for such a wonderful prenatal experience!

I recently completed a prenatal yoga class with Genevieve and loved it so much I have signed up for another session! This class was a much needed respite for my body and soul each week--allowing me to stretch and learn how to focus on myself for a bit of time. It was evident from week one that Genevieve cares deeply for both mama and baby throughout the experience.

I just completed my second round of prenatal yoga classes with Genevieve and have already signed up for my 3rd. I plan to continue taking classes up until I deliver in December, because I have found them to be a necessity to my physical and mental state throughout my pregnancy. Genevieve knows what she's doing when it comes to prenatal yoga. She is respectful of any aliments or limitations you may be experiencing and knows exactly how to alter poses or introduce stretches in order to address them. From beginners to advanced students, she will help you get the most out of class without feeling shorted. Genevieve makes class fun by interacting with the mamas and encouraging them to open up about their experiences with pregnancy. It creates more than just a yoga class for pregnant women, but a camaraderie of women stepping out of their comfort zone and supporting each other through the beautiful journey of creating new life. It's awesome to be in a room filled with women who are in the same stage of life as you!

The studio radiates with love and gratitude when you walk in and you get a feeling of weight being lifted off your shoulders as you walk out. If I miss a class, I feel it. If I'm having a tough week, Genevieve knows how to get me back on track. She is a wonderful, gentle teacher who cares deeply for her students. Not to mention she understands what it's like to be a busy, soon-to-be mama by offering flexibility if you need to miss a class or two. I highly recommended Genevieve's class to any expectant mama who is looking for some physical activity during pregnancy or simply wants an hour to herself to connect with baby in one of the most enjoyable, peaceful and self-rewarding ways possible. <3

I went through two prenatal yoga series with Genevieve from 23-35 weeks of my pregnancy and I have to say, they were both amazing! I looked forward to Tuesday nights every week as these sessions allowed me to relax, breathe, and focus on me and baby. Not only were the sessions excellent, but there was a lot of benefit improving common pregnancy symptoms (insomnia, pelvic discomfort, lower back pain, etc). I would highly recommend these series to any pregnant woman who can make them.

It was great to find a yoga class with a consistent group of mamas in it and the class was a great balance of mental, physical, and spiritual. Each class was different and the series were not exactly the same - Genevieve evolved the class as the mamas in it evolved. I also got to participate in a number of classes that her mom helped lead as well, which was extra special both because students got increased attention and because they have an inspiring mother/daughter relationship. I am hoping to be able to practice with Genevieve postpartum as well.

I just had the gift of a 5 day yoga retreat in the jungle of Tulum, Mexico led by the wonderful owner of iShine Yoga, Genevieve! It was a trip that truly changed my outlook on the world. It reminded me that the things that are important in life are connection with other humans living the same life in different ways. Getting to know 14 other different souls, practicing yoga twice a day, and communing with nature was an amazing experience. The thought and effort Genevieve put into making sure each and every one of us got the best experience we possibly could made this one of my lifetime best trips. If you have the opportunity to practice with Genevieve, either here in North Carolina at a studio, in a jungle, or on a mountain don't miss your chance. She will help you truly Shine!!!!!
