Always hot and stuffy like an attic upstairs. Very noisy in the early morning with a guy screaming with his fight class. Almost forgot the outdated equipment.
Man this is the most disgusting gym I have ever been to and I have to go so many. Construction all downstairs and the cardio section. Stinks like fish because something is going on with the roof. Today there was a septic truck cleaning out the grease trap in the kitchen. Whole parking lot stinks terrible. Every now and then a guy uses an outdoor leaf blower and blow dirt and dust from under the machines so we can all breathe it in (see photo).
Today the roof is being worked on and it’s snowing (see photos)

I really enjoy this gym, but agree with the other posters that, for the price ($199/month), the towels are gross, the mats and much of the equipment is very used and not clean, and the general cleanliness of the place is...not. There is dirt and dust and grime everywhere, and I rarely see either staff or customers wiping down equipment after use. The rec pool is a beautifully warm temperature, but the water is often very, very cloudy, which is kind of gross.
Despite all of this, I still enjoy working out here, but always take a really long shower as soon as I get home so that I can wash any cooties away.
The only other feedback I have is that there are very few evening classes and almost no classes starting after 6 pm.

For the most expensive gym in the state you should not have to take unfolded wrinkled towels out of a bin that says “dirty” on the side. So disgusting and disappointing. I don’t know how much more I can take of this towel situation.

The worst childcare. Employees are young and stood around on their phones, zero interaction when we were told otherwise. When my husband and I walked into the childcare no one greeted us, not a great feeling when you are leaving your baby with a stranger.

Can’t say much for the amenities since I’m using the weightroom mostly. But have to say the gym culture is lackluster and poorly enforced/maintained. Frequently loud groups socializing in the middle of the floor, weight slamming on machines, weights not being re-racked or clearly misplaced (60lb dumbbell on 30lb spot), and random items like half-used water bottles or wipes lying around the floor unattended. Used bandaids and qtips in the locker rooms where towels pile up past the brim. Cockroach was seen running across the floor as well during the evening hour. Underwhelming for a gym that costs as much as it does. Have seen better quality of cleanliness at planet fitness.

It is a good option for the area if you can take advantage of all the amenities. Unfortunately, during this summer, it has been hot and stuffy. They have AC, but it is not always at its highest capacity, and for the high paid fees, you would expect better. Even worse, probably due to the the current remodeling, the cardio area gets very warm and rough.

Update: more years went by, prices went up more and more. Air is stagnant on the upper level, unless you are standing underneath, the very few vents, you don’t feel the air. It’s really difficult to enjoy a workout this way. I passed this recommendation to a few managers over the years, but we still have no fans.
Lowering my rating, because again this year there is an increase in due’s, it’s 190 for myself and wife now. It basically increases every year.
I just wish there are more A/C vents on the upper level. I find it uncomfortable as soon as you start working-out.
I would be a happier member if 20-30 fans were hung from the ceiling. It is really uncomfortable as there
is no air moving, a slight breeze would make my workout longer and more enjoyable. There are a/c vents but you only feel the air when you stand below those.

Desmond, Jamie from the kids swim are phenomenal. They are so patient and have such a way with little ones. My daughter had a meltdown before swim and they were able to gently redirect to get her re-engaged. I’m grateful to have them as part of our village. I’ve been a longtime fan of lifetime across multiple states since 2010. However, since becoming a parent I’ve greatly appreciated the full family programming from group fitness hot Yoga with Kat and the entire Lifetime Kids Academy staff including Ms Tina and Mr Ryan. Also special shout out to the operations team who keeps the facility so clean. Keep up the good work.

I've been a Life Time member for most of my adult life. After moving to Raleigh in 2015, I joined the Cary club and initially had a great experience. After relocating from 2021–2024, I rejoined upon my return, but found the gym had noticeably aged. The locker room quality and cleanliness had declined significantly.
Life Time still offers excellent amenities for individuals and families, and I’ve enjoyed many great group class instructors who put a lot of effort into their classes.
Unfortunately, corporate recently implemented a cost-saving measure to cancel all evening cycling classes indefinitely—this was communicated to members on June 2nd, just after monthly renewals were processed. Cycling was the main reason I maintained my membership, so this was disappointing. The change should have been communicated before the renewal period. I also reached out to Life Time’s membership representative several times with no response. The lack of communication and poor customer service is unacceptable, especially for a gym positioned as a premium experience.

After a spine surgery ended my military career my health spiraled downward. I couldn’t move due to near constant pain and packed on 50 pounds of useless fat. The pain enslaved me and I couldn’t even walk 400 meters without stopping. I felt like a shell of the man I used to be. I was stuck physically, emotionally, mentally.
Joining Life Time Cary changed everything.
From day one, the team welcomed me. I started working with Max (Maksym), a trainer who knew how to build around my injuries and limitations. At first it was just short walks through pain, with my son and wife by my side. But we kept showing up.
Eventually, I joined the 60XT Challenge and went all in. I trained 5–6 days a week, tracked every meal, used the sauna, and built a new rhythm. I dropped over 30 pounds, cut my body fat in half, gained muscle, and lowered my cholesterol by 90 points—all without meds. Just structure, consistency, and the right environment.
But the real impact was on my family.
Now my son begs to go to Life Time. We do “Leg Day–Shake Day” together at the Life Café. The staff know him by name. My wife and I get quality time on the treadmills or in the sauna or during the godsend of Parents Night Out. This place didn’t just help me heal—it helped all of us reconnect in a healthier way.
I’ve been in a lot of high-performance spaces. Life Time Cary is top-tier. Clean, supportive, smart programming, and a real community. If you’re ready to stop drifting and actually rebuild your health and confidence, this is the place to do it.

Overall one of the better gyms in Cary and frankly one of the biggest gyms I've ever been to. Love the spacious workout floor, basketball courts, swimming pool, etc. They've added additional hydromassages and recovery boots which are super easy to reserve through the app.
However the pickleball program is run horribly here. There aren't enough DUPR rating sessions (only one a week) and there's quite a few people here who never validate the scores on the app if they lose which is really frustrating and a sign of poor sportsmanship. I've had to contact Lifetime each time because there's always someone who won't validate the scores when they lose and frankly I'm kinda sick of it now. I usually play at the Lifetime's in NYC and they have club submit sessions where a designated Lifetime pickleball attendant will enter the scores themselves, so that these problems don't happen and I don't understand why this club won't adapt that. I even overheard a lifetime pickleball attendant say they don’t want to do that because it’s “more work for them” which is an absolute crazy thing to say for someone who’s in charge of of the pickleball programming here…. It's super simple and it would solve so many problems.
They only care about making money and don’t listen to any feedback from the members. I spoke to someone who quite literally said they’re getting rid of the pickleball DUPR sessions and adding leagues (which you have to pay extra for) to make more revenue instead of addressing the issues at hand.

Not cheap - but if go often, even say 5 hours a week… that’s 20 hours per month, at rate of appx $200 per month, that’s $10 hour.

Overall not a bad gym. However, the use of sterile lighting through out the facility is rather annoying, introduce some accent lighting...
I dont use the pool, but the chloramines coming from it are noticeable event when not in the pool area, this is dangerous. Either their filters are working overtime or they do not have a functioning UV system.
The steam room is frankly disgusting, it should be getting cleaned twice a day, there is also no enforcement of steam room etiquette.
Lastly, the restaurant deems itself healthy...it isnt, their food is filled with all kinds of preservatives, seed oils, etc...also, invest in proper water filtration systems for drinking water, elkays are terrible and the tap water in this state is horrendous.
The second an Equinox opens up in the area I will be transferring to that. I am looking for a refined gym experience that actually embodies health in all aspects, not just a space with weights and cardio.

We’ve been going to this fitness club for a few months now. Before this, we were members at Lifetime Fitness in Massachusetts.
What can I say? First of all, we really like the size of this club. It’s quite spacious, with plenty of different zones for various types of workouts. Another big plus is the activities available for our daughter. The kids’ club is great, and she absolutely loves the rock climbing—it’s her favorite part.
As for the downsides, there are a couple of things I’m not happy with.
First, the Lap Pool schedule. A significant portion of the day is reserved for classes, which I understand is necessary. But according to the club policy and my conversations in their chat, at least two lanes are supposed to remain open for general use. However, every time I come, there’s usually only one open lane, and that single lane is used by everyone—those swimming, those walking, or just anyone who wants to be in the pool. This makes it really inconvenient. For three to four hours at a time, only one lane is available, and when multiple people show up to swim, it becomes overcrowded.
I once approached a coach and mentioned the policy about keeping two lanes open. She told me there was a class in progress and she couldn’t do anything about it. This has been a consistent issue, and it’s quite frustrating.
Second, the pool water quality. The chlorine level here is noticeably higher than normal. I’ve previously swum at Morrisville Aquatics and at the local Cary pool—a large facility with a 50-meter pool—and I never had any issues. Even when I was at the pool in Massachusetts, everything was fine.
But here, during and after my swim, I get a strong burning sensation inside my nose. I’ve spoken to other swimmers who experience the same issue and now use nose clips because of the irritation. I brought this up with management, and while they said they’d look into it, it’s been three or four months, and nothing has changed.
Other than these issues, I’m happy with the rest of the club.
One suggestion I have is to bring back indoor triathlon competitions. I know there are a lot of triathletes training here, and it would be great if the club organized competitions a few times a year—maybe once every three to four months. I think it would be a fantastic addition and something many members would enjoy.

Nice-looking gym, but the staff there made promises to my wife and I that they did not keep, costing us hundreds of dollars. Spa zone used to be such a great place to relax after a long day… now you come at 10 pm and have to wait “in line” to get into a hot tub - it’s been months since both were open at the same time. I do sound like a spoiled girl, I know, but my (expensive!) membership price only increases through time while nothing new is added and what I pay for is not even available.
P.s. a month later, both hot tubs are working! Yay!!!

My rating would have been different before June. The trainers, front desk staff, classes and equipment on the 2nd floor are great. Love the selection and attentiveness to clients. On the negative: since June there seems to always be one spa out of order, sometimes both. Today there was one down and the other had half the jets working. The locker room cleaning has become inconsistent including the showers, lockers and steam rooms. If you want to shoot around on the basketball court since it's down to one and there are camps and activities at times - best to do it before 630am. In traveling around to other locations on business they don't seem to have the issues, especially maintenance, compared to this location.

Choose another gym.
Everything was great until my partner and I decided to do couples personal training. I requested a change of trainer as I didn’t think the person we had would be the best fit for my needs. Instead of assisting me with this change the training supervisor decided to speak for his trainer despite the fact I never said anything more than he wasn’t the best fit for me. And then he tried to upsell me more training when I was already upset and he hadn’t even actually helped. For $259 per month on membership plus the additional cost of the PT I expect to be treated like a person not a number. I signed up elsewhere I’m paying less on the membership, I found a specialized trainer who’s been really respectful of my body’s limitation and willing to assist me with accommodation to make training accessible for me. And because of that reason I’m doing training every week. You will find better out there for less money or at least equal to.

I have no problems with the gym or facilities, they are fine, not great, but fine. And for the price, I think just fine is freaking ridiculous. But my real complaint comes with their new guest pass policy. First, if you are a minor, you must have a parent fill out a consent waiver which I understand and agree with but this is just the start. Following this, your guest must go through this complicated and time consuming process of downloading and setting up the app and then providing a government issued ID. Why do they need to do this? Is your goal to deter new people from coming to lifetime? If so, you guys are doing an exceptional job. But this is not all, now a minor cannot provide a guest pass to another minor. This makes no sense, both individuals have had a parental consent form filled out on their behalf. So why must an adult accompany the guest? You guys know you have a vast amount of members who are minors and if you did not have this clientele your profit margin would be exponentially lower. If you can't tell, I am a minor but I am also the only person in my family who frequently utilizes the facilities at lifetime. My family of 4 is pausing our membership today and going to get a membership with our local YMCA. Change this policy if you don't want to lose money!

As a plus sized woman I was nervous about getting back into the gym, but this place is incredibly welcoming.
Their staff is diverse in experience and very friendly. After coming here to the Cary location for a couple months I can’t walk through the gym without at least one person who works there remembering my name and saying hello.
They are very helpful when it comes to signing up for classes, lessons and private sessions.
The patrons that come here are also very kind and respectful. I haven’t had an issue with anyone that goes to this gym as a member. Even during peak times everyone is very respectful and there’s always equipment available.
The manager of the location is very attentive and down to earth. You can tell the employees enjoy their work and are treated overall well.

They added the most inefficient way to invite a guest. They have to go through this annoying process of downloading the app. Also, if you like to play basketball, they only have 1 court now since the other one they had is now a pickleball court. The one basketball court is half the time closed because of events and 2 days per week, one half is taken from 5-7:30 by older men who think they own the gym. For the insane high price you pay, this is pretty terrible.

This is a great sports facility. The problem is that it’s SUPER overpopulated! Since early 2024 they continued to take new members on. Every class is full and with waiting lists at reasonable hours. The gym is packed and several people wait for the same strength exercise machine. Pickleball courts are full most of the time. Open play has waiting lists and reserving less than 7 days in advance is impossible. They have noticed the popularity of certain activities and they try to monetize more out of it (pickleball is an example: more intro and paid clinics) less open play slots for advanced players, less time for reservations). Service suffers: bathrooms are full and not clean enough. Bins overflow. Pools not so clean.
I would look for another facility or a different chain if possible

I recently had the pleasure of being assisted by Lott at Lifetime Fitness, and I cannot speak highly enough of her exceptional service. Lott is incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that members have the best experience possible.
I had some specific modifications I wanted to make to my gym membership, which can often be a challenging process. However, Lott was very kind and cooperative throughout the entire process. She made my membership experience a breeze, ensuring everything was clear and transparent. Gyms are not usually this straightforward with membership changes, but Lott was completely the opposite. Be careful going to this gym during evenings because my car was parked here from 8:30pm to 10pm and I come out to the window being smashed. The security here is not working, as the security should be patrolling the area keeping an eye on the vehicles. This gym membership cost more than any gym membership for the security to not do its job is very disappointing. I asked for camera footage to see, understandably it's confidential but very upset over this happening at a gym parking lot. Should be the best gym in Raleigh, however the reality is far from that. Weight section is pitifully small when taken into account how many people come here. They have 4 flat benches for dumbbells. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY IT IS THEY WILL ALL BE TAKEN. the personal training classes take up all of the squat racks at 6pm and prevent you from using them as well. If you lift this is a terrible gym for you. Not to mention this gym is insanely expensive

The men’s locker room is constantly disgusting. They do not clean the steam room on a regular basis and it becomes soiled by people going in wearing their street clothes and shoes, of which should not be allowed. The wet areas are a place to be clean and relax. They should be cleaned with disinfectant at least twice a day and scrubbed to prevent pathogens and dirt, and then allowed to dry out over night when the club is closed. The towel in the photo was wiped off from the bench in the steam room. The showers often have used bandages, wet paper towels, used razors and mildew on the tile. The management doesn’t seem to care about the level of cleanliness.

I visited here as a guest as I was reviewing options in the area for swimming year-round. I truly enjoyed my swim in the cold water pool. However, the one positive is outweighed by several negatives. First, upon check-in my partner showed their QR code and asked about admitting a guest. We were asked to wait on the other side of the check-in desk. It wasn't too long. The young man who came to check us in wasn't rude, but he wasn't friendly either. "Our computer system's down," he says. "And I'll need to see some ID." I show him my license and he starts to write down the details and I'm wondering what is going to happen to the notepad upon which he is writing my personal information. I give a vibe that I'm not going to give him my email. Anyhoo, off to the pool, fine. Out I get thinking the spa looks good, especially after a half hour in a cold pool. But one of two is out of order and the other one is full. Oh well. I'll try out the sauna and then steam room. The sauna is okay, just not hot enough and a kid in a hoodie is sitting next to the heater (in a sauna...). I barely sweat so next I try the steam room. An old guy is hurrying out. As I go in, "It's not making steam," he says. We look inside and there is no steam. Instead, a jet of rusty oily water is spurting out onto the floor. "Yeah, it's a bust," say I. The hot shower was good, the lockers were nice and otherwise the services were acceptable. However, if I was paying the membership of $121 pm I'd be complaining up a storm at two major features (spa and steam room) not working. And then the computer glitch and my private data on some dude's notepad... My partner said that they had not been happy with Life Time and was considering switching to the Y. Hence two stars. One final thing is that given this experience, I am dumbfounded at the prior comment "The staff is great, the equipment is always clean and in good shape..." Is that a paid review? PS Apparently a new manager should be arriving soon. Good. They are needed. Good luck to them!

IF YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR RATES GO UP EVERY SINGLE YEAR, THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. THEY CHARGED ME 80% MORE THAN WHEN I STARTED.
Absolute scam. Pickleball used to be free with a $100 membership. They decided to build a court that made them LOSE A BUNCH OF MONEY AND CUSTOMERS, so they started charging everyone $150+ now for a basic membership. Every single gym member now pays 50% more in the last year. I got charged 80% more because I was a member before last year.
If you don't sign up for a pickleball court 3 weeks in advanced, you don't get to play. And if you miss two, you can't even play for a few weeks.
The food court is overpriced and disgusting (especially the coffee). Someone stole my pickleball racket there and no one tried to help find it. The trainers are a joke.

The offerings in this gym are undeniably good. I have been a member since the year they opened, and unfortunately there is not any other competition around here. This shows in the constantly rising prices. They are taking advantage of their customers… the new ones with ridiculously high prices and the old loyal ones with significant price hikes, sometimes more than once a year. There is no customer service to speak of, so complaints are disregarded. If they aren’t raising the prices, they are taking services away. There are way less group class offerings than in the past…you have to pay extra for the opportunity. They bring in new services that you can only access if you pay more. I am simply disgusted with them and how they operate, and yet it is the only comprehensive gym near me so I feel trapped in their abuse. As an aside, there’s been a drainage problem for years in the women’s locker room so the floor stays pretty nasty.

Been a member at lifetime since 2008 in Scottsdale Arizona , transferred to Cary about a year ago and I've been extremely disappointed with this club. Cleanliness is lacking . On multiple occasions there hasn't been any clean towels available in the mens locker room. Tends to be over crowded and just overall lacking compared to some of the other clubs I’ve visited. Hopefully Lifetime Cary will step it up!

I really like this gym – it's the best, hands down! The staff is great, the equipment is always clean and in good shape, and there are plenty of classes to pick from. If you live in the Triangle area, I highly recommend this gym over the other two in the area. Also, I hope they open a new one near Chapel Hill soon, because this one can get pretty crowded sometimes.

Horrible, they never answer the phone and when they do they either rudely hang-up before your bluetooth gets a chance to connect or they connect you to another extension and surprise, voicemail!
There are no towels by the outside pool and the ones inside are old and overused, the showers are disgusting and full of hair.
Don't waste your time and money, this location does not operate at the same level as other Lifetime Gyms.

Extremely expensive! Had a family membership here and broke the bank. Had to cancel and took my family elsewhere. Although they have many things to do for the family, it is not realistically affordable. Also, I noticed their pool is degrading and needs upgrading.

Definitely an all-in-one facility, but far too expensive especially considering how many people go here . They're the only full-service gym in the area, though, so they can get away with it. Customer service doesn't answer the phone consistently, caused issues with my cancelation and now I've been charged an extra month that probably won't be used. They offer no programs for military/vets, first responders, or other high-stress/low reward professions. Not a deal breaker for most, but it is disappointing considering most other gyms have a program and cost far less. Facility is mostly clean, but definitely has become a fad gym. If you need pain management facilities and gym in one place, this is probably your only option and you're gonna pay for it. Nearly 200 dollars monthly is not ideal for someone only there for specific facilities. If it wasn't for the lack of front desk support and I hadn't been charged again, I would give 3 stars.

Really dirty and disgusting pool. I got e coli infection from the pool and took me weeks to recover; they hardly ever change the water and there are people walking in drenched in sweat from the gym or kids urinating inside. If you charge your member such a premium membership at least keep the facility clean. Front desk is horrible service as well - especially a lady name kelly is rude and should be fired (she literally yelled at my 4 year old daughter who ran ahead while I was pulling up my app to login and said "control your bratt next time"). Also guy at the front desk in a suit whose busy on his phone never answer questions with more than one word. Gym itself is overcrowded and equipment is ok but some of it is old. Personal training is truly somethinf else...dont make the mistake of taking a "free session" unless you want to be endlessly harassed by the staff trying to upsell you services. Overall crappiest gym in Carry if not the whole Raleigh region.

I honestly can’t speak enough great things about this place. From the employees, to the trainers and even management. Everyone’s willing to help you out. If there’s any issues or concerns, they take care of it. Everyone (even the members) just mind their own business, is nice to anyone and everyone understands that they’re there to improve, no matter what level you’re on.
Best of all, the employees and management know how to do their job very well. Personal trainers as well. I was always hesitant on personal trainers b/c to me I always see them lounging around as they train someone like they don’t really care about it. Not in lifetime. I can tell every personal trainer there focuses and makes sure they’re taking their clients to a higher level. Shout out to Bobby who trains me. If I have any questions the trainers are always there for you.
I tried once to find another gym that’s cheaper but nothing beats this gym. It’s to good to pass up and worth every penny.

Lashelle is the best massage therapist I have ever been to. I suffer from chronic hip pain, after one visit with her I was able to move without pain. As a disclaimer, there was some after treatment pain, but it went away quickly and the relief was worth it. As for lifetime itself it is an excellent place to relax and work out that includes a spa, sauna, hot tubs, workout equipment, personal trainers, cafe, showers, kids academy, and more. If you are a mom and need to relax the kids academy for kids under 1 require a reservation and can last for up to 3 hours. That is 3 hours of mommy time. There are lockers in the dressing rooms at no additional charge as well as towels, makeup remover, shampoo, body wash, q tips, razors, and mouth wash. It is a real club style membership location. Over all it is a retreat that is kid friendly, inclusive (ramps other amenities), and hospitable. Well worth the money, but even if none of that was included, going to Lashelle alone would be worth every penny.

As many have pointed out, extremely poor management and discrimanatory behavior especially in aquatics.
I will add details about the experience later.
Honestly, you may be fine until you have to or need anything from aquatics management. Zero emotional intelligence and zero professional behavior except very few people.
Of course behavior (as witnessed with my own eyes) is completely different when you sign up yourself and/or your child for private lessons $$$ especially with the aquatics manager.

Its funny how they suddenly make this change only a few months after a fight broke out on the court after one of the league games. This is clearly a underhanded attempt to keep African American members from coming here there's no other reason why they would do this Cary already has enough tennis courts

Subpar customer experience throughout the time period that I held a membership at the Lifetime facility in Cary which by the way is not inexpensive. I witnessed discriminatory practices in the way that members are handled. There was little to no solution or proper customer service and I will not pay for this type of experience. My five foot six, 162 lb, 12 year old son who is on my membership was denied access to the facilIty as Lifetime had an error in the system and refused to correct the error once I made them aware and instead requested that I provide state certified records when that’s not a requirement when joining the club. I have never been made aware of official records being a requirement of any other member of the club. Two thumbs down and I would not recommend. Additionally, there are no managers overseeing the operation during the evening shift and not a concrete process in place for escalations that requires assistance from a manager.

I’ve been a member for over 10 years. I went in the Cary lifetime office back in April to freeze my membership for June and July. I freeze my membership every summer and this year for some reason I noticed they did not freeze my membership and when I called they told me I had to contact corporate. As of right now I’m stuck paying for two months and they won’t give me a refund! I also went in on July 30th to cancel my membership and told the receptionist that my membership was on a freeze till August 15th and she told me that I wouldn’t have to pay for the full month of August but I was charged August 1st for the full amount.
Be VERY careful if you freeze your membership or cancel!!! I would highly recommend getting everything in writing and signed, so your not out any money!

First I was given a warm welcome, after that I was placed in a broken chair, the back of the chair couldnt come up! By then I'm totally upset. Then I was told she cannot proceed because I hit my toe. It's clear she doesn't know what's she is doing when it comes to nail damage the toenail is a different color. I asked for the acetone to be removed before leaving I was given a hard time with that. Not pleased at all!!! Will not go back to that spa very ridiculous!

Appalling customer service and equipment that is worn and poorly maintained. Would not recommend, I looked past the equipment that seems to be on the edge of falling apart until today. My girlfriend and I have been members here for about 2 months and have just had the worst experience we've ever had at a gym. Also the rock wall has barely any hours that it’s actually open.
My girl friend was stared at by one of the female employees in her locker room while she was getting undressed and when she was about to go take a shower the employee approached her and very rudely told her that she could not take a shower and had to put on whatever she had and leave the building. This was right at 10pm and what's crazy is while I was waiting outside the locker rooms , AFTER I TOOK MY SHOWER AND WAS AROUND 10:20pm SOME FEMALE EMPLOYEES WALKED OUT THE LOCKER ROOM ASKED ME IF I WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE AND THEN KEPT WALKING. AT THAT TIME THERE WERE STILL MEN IN THE MENS LOCKER ROOM. When I checked my phone I saw the text from my girlfriend about what happened and that she was outside.
The gym closes at 10pm on Saturday. She was in the pool and I was in the gym. She left the pool at exactly 10pm, I finished my set when they announced they were closing and left the gym sometime around 10:07pm. We both went straight to our respective locker rooms when leaving the pool and gym. When I went into the locker room plenty of other men were still getting dressed and taking showers, I went to take a shower and while taking a shower (maybe started around 10:13) I was told that I had about 10 minutes till they were closing up.
Clearly women are treated differently here than men. With the terrible customer service and the fact that a lot of the machines are in poor shape I'm thinking this may not be the high end fitness club that they claim to be.

Equipment is up to date, though some of the rowing machines & treadmills could use some maintenance. The upkeep in the men's locker room is also hit or miss. Parking can be a pain. The music+noise level make it difficult to listen to podcasts & videos on your mobile device. Usually the staff is responsive. Gets super busy from Jan 1 thru Feb 14. It’s getting harder and harder to find open benches and available freeweights, even during off peak hours. This is a problem that we pay to avoid by patronizing a fitness center that charges $119/month. They really need to open another nearby facility ASAP. If we wanted missing dumbbells and unavailable benches, I could go to one of the “bargain” gyms and pay $9.99/month.
Don’t even get me started on the disgusting status of the men’s restrooms after 9pm.

Please replace the management!
Over the past year or so, this place went from bad to worse. I have absolutely no complaint about the instructors, it’s the greedy approach of the management that makes this place unacceptable. Due to the lack of cleaning staff, the studio floors are filthy covered with human hair and sweat. This is true even for the first class in the morning. Showers are covered with mold. Towels are so old, there are basically two types: the grey ones with questionable stains and the see-through ones. You really go through 5-6 of them before you find the one that you are not disgusted by.
You think this is the best that Lifetime can do, so live with that. Well this is NOT true and this is the reason I decided to write this review. You visit Lifetime branch in Raleigh and none of these problems are happening there. I get it, you want to save money, but this is not the way you should do it. I’d rather pay $10 more and not feel disgusted every time I visit the gym.
