Carrboro/Chapel Hill's only donation-based yoga studio. Even though we are small, we still have been in the INDY Weekly's finalists in their Best of the Triangle.
Ti has been teaching yoga for over 30 years, almost all of them in Carrboro, and he leads almost all of the classes at Loving Kindness Yoga School. Iryna rounds out our offerings with Size-Inclusive Yoga appropriate for people of all body types and ages, regardless of size.
Ti also offers monthly kirtan on Fridays.

There are so many reasons to love Ti Harmony, the studio space, and the community he has built. I first took Ti's class over 20 years ago and his class is always a combination of challenging but achievable and a place to truly explore poses with the assistance of Ti who knows yoga so well. I have been going on and off for 20 years, falling off due to life and returning "home" to Ti's class and the welcoming community he has built like I never left. I highly recommend Ti to anyone who wants a place to practice that is open and welcoming, with the best people, and the most knowledgeable instructor.

I got lucky when I landed in Ti's class many years ago. It was my first Yoga experience and the effects were profound and immediate. I never looked back. Since then, Ti remains one of the most influential people in my life. His teachings have helped ground me and expand my mind. The classes have steadied my emotions and strengthened my body. If you are looking for a Yoga experience that meets you wherever you are, I urge you to unroll a mat at Loving Kindness.

I always feel welcome at LKYS, whether I can attend in-person or via the internet(thank you Covid!)
Be you still plugged in or dumped into the Desert of the Real, or some hellacious place in between, Ti will meet you where you are, however you are. If “I’m not flexible enough” is your reason to not try this “yoga” stuff then this school is worth looking into, and if you think you’re good at yoga and don’t need school then this school is worth exploring. Thank you Ti!

I feel so grateful to have Loving Kindness and Ti Harmony in my life. Ti's classes are special, and they seem to get even better the longer I take them. He is a creative and perceptive teacher; his ability to sense the needs and energy of each student in the room and to tailor the class accordingly is almost uncanny and so much appreciated. I have shown up in a wild range of physical and emotional states over the years and every time have felt welcomed, understood, and met where I am. Ti's adjustments are amazing, frequent but never overbearing, sometimes painful (in the best of ways), always meaningful. He seamlessly blends his readings and observations with humor, which both makes profound ideas feel approachable and entertains you to the extent that you might hold plank pose for, like, five minutes without realizing it (I exaggerate). The community of students is friendly and non-competitive, and the studio has lovely ambiance and is well appointed, with excellent attention to lighting, temperature, and ventilation. Highly recommended!

This studio has a calming energy and a warm community of people practicing across the spectrum of yoga experience. Ti, the instructor, has a deep knowledge of anatomy and offers adjustments that are tailored to each individual student. He often incorporates readings and spiritual reflection into his classes. I've been practicing here for a couple years and I look forward to class each week. It's a one-of-a-kind yoga studio and a true gem.

My spiritual yoga home. I love Ti’s real, soulful, down to earth teaching style and the lovely, cozy studio space. As a fellow yoga teacher with a practice spanning more than 25 years, I’ve studied with countless teachers, and Ti is one in a million. Been practicing with him consistently since winter 2011.

I have been enjoying going to Loving Kindness Yoga School and taking classes with Ti. The classes are always varied and Ti provides his signature lighthearted guidance throughout. The readings are enjoyable and attendees differ in age, body type, and abilities. The classes are usually slower paced and emphasize mobility over strength, which is great for me, particularly in the Wednesday Beginner Series.

The studio is small and personal. It has a very warm and cozy feeling to it. The instructor and owner of Loving Kindness Yoga School, Ti Harmony, has such a peaceful aura about him. He is also someone who will go around the room and help people with their poses, including people with limitations.
I love his sense of humor and positive outlook.
I feel like I have finally found my niche.

In my experience, Loving Kindness Yoga's atmosphere has a feeling of calmness, communal, and genuine teaching. In my opinion, if you would like a deep practice experience this is a place to try. I like the fact that it is donation based. In that sense it is a very welcoming place for everyone.

Ti's classes are very introspective, non-judgmental, and I always leave feeling richer and at peace with the present moment. Ti is a very intuitive teacher and offers a great mix of spirituality and asana. There is a lot of space to explore your edge (physical and mental!) and honor your own practice wherever you are on a given day. He has a very deep understanding of a human body, offers fantastic adjustments and modifications for everyone. I can write many nice things, but I can't really put the experience into words. That's on you. Infinite love and light!

I'm a yoga teacher and I take about three or four classes from different teachers every week. Every class I teach and take teaches me something. But Ti's class is different. It's the one I KNOW is going to leave me feeling more relaxed, reconnected, and excited about my yoga practice than I was before. Ti's ability to teach Yoga as a physical and spiritual discipline is unparalleled in the area. He's refreshingly authentic, down-to-earth, and non-dogmatic. The School is lovely, intimate, and has a sweet energy. Classes are donation-based. Really. Not "suggested donation" or "sliding scale". And go to kirtan! Chanting will change your life.
