I've been training with MAD North Raleigh for over a year and it is by far my favorite gym I've been a part of on my fitness journey. The strength training is effective and I love the variety between anerobic, momentum and durability. The trainers take time to get to know you on a personal level and provide personal coaching during the workout to correct form for a better workout. Of all the workouts I've done, I've seen the best results and I'm stronger with MADabolic.

I’ve been a member at MADabolic North Raleigh since November 2023, and joining after one trial class was one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving from Greenville, NC. I came looking for a way to stay fit and get stronger — and found so much more. The MADabolic approach is unlike anything else. The programming is smart, intentional, and built around real strength and conditioning — not gimmicks. I love that they encourage a four-day commitment to training and prioritize proper recovery. This is a great gym. It is group fitness based and the sessions are always challenging, yet fun and rewarding. The trainers are all great and will make sure your form is correct when doing the exercises. The classes are also expertly designed by the corporate team to ensure you are getting an effective workout every week that optimizes the different muscle groups. Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a high quality group- fitness based gym that incorporates both strength and cardio into the workouts.

As a former collegiate athlete who has tried multiple solo and group fitness settings since ‘retiring’, MADabolic is hands down the best workout you will find, regardless of your age or fitness level. I’ve been a member for 5+ years in two different cities and the workouts have never gotten old. I originally joined MAD to prep for my wedding and have now stayed and trained through two pregnancies and postpartum seasons. I am stronger training consistently at MAD 3-4x/week for 50 mins than I have ever been. You get personal training vibes, in a group setting that fosters community and hard work. I could go on forever about the people and the programming. You just have to try it to get it.

MAD North-Raleigh is top-tier. I started coming here in November of Last year and I’ve been hooked ever since.From the moment you walk in, you know they know exactly what they are doing. The workouts are challenging enough to put you outside your comfort zone but also allowing you to progress at your own pace. They are so thoughtfully organized, you just have to go see for yourself. I love Madabolic North Raleigh! I am so fortunate to be part of this amazing gym and community of people. The trainers are top-notch and I always feel supported that they are going to push me and also keep me safe. I’m a retired collegiate athlete, current competitive beach volleyball player and super mom. This gym has helped me from post-partum, pregnant and now getting back into my best shape ever. There are always modifications to accommodate whatever stage of fitness I have been.

I can't say enough great things about MADabolic North Raleigh! I was visiting from out of town and was a little nervous about dropping into a new location, but Josh, Brea, and Cassie made the whole process seamless. They were so welcoming and made me feel right at home. The workout was absolutely amazing—challenging, high-energy, and perfectly structured. You can tell this place is all about quality fitness and community.

Also, shoutout to how clean and organized the restrooms are! It's such a small detail, but it really shows how much care they put into every aspect of the gym. If you're looking for a top strength and conditioning workout, this is the place to be. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

I’ve been doing group fitness for over 20 years and MADabolic is by far the most effective workout I’ve done without spending 2 hours in the gym. I enjoy the workouts and look forward to each class. I have been coming here since this location opened in late 2023. Started because it was very convenient to my house, but stayed because of the following:
-trainers are top notch- they go through a very intense training protocol and are here to make sure you do the movement safely and properly. They don’t mind correcting your form (ahem, or telling you to go heavier) or helping with a modification if needed.
-the workouts are intentional and progressive. And tough. The intervals are purpose driven. This means it isn’t always the most exciting workout, but I always leave feeling like the workout was purposeful and difficult.
-community- there are lots of socializing opportunities, some are just for fun and some are also fitness related.
As someone who has tried a lot of boutique fitness gyms, this is definitely my preferred home gym!

There truly aren’t enough great things I can say about MAD North Raleigh! As a retired athlete who’s spent years immersed in the group fitness world—both as a member and a coach—I can confidently say that MAD is the best group fitness environment I’ve ever experienced.

What sets MAD apart is the perfect balance of intensity and intentionality. The programming goes far beyond just “moving to burn calories.” As an athlete, I appreciate that the training is functional, purposeful, and challenges me in a way that feels deeply rewarding. Each workout is thoughtfully designed, and the coaches? They’re not just cheerleaders—they’re true coaches.

So many group fitness studios focus on being fun and energetic (which is great!), but often fall short when it comes to actual coaching. At MAD, it’s different. The coaches are knowledgeable, skilled, and invested. They prioritize safety, encourage lifting heavy, correct form when needed, and give you that extra push to go further—before resorting to surface-level hype. That said, don’t be fooled—this team still knows how to celebrate wins and get a little goofy when the moment calls for it. They’re warm, welcoming, and deeply respected.

And the community? Just as incredible. The members respect the workouts, the process, and one another, which creates an atmosphere where we all thrive.

100% would recommend to anyone looking for more than just a workout. This is a place where you grow, push limits, and train with purpose.

I’ve been a member now for about a month and a half and I’m addicted. The classes are hard but fun and always broken down into timed sections, which makes the class fly by. From the beginning the owner and instructors have made an effort to get to know me and know my name, which is just really nice and something I haven't found in previous gyms/studios. It’s a genuine interest in their members and making them stronger that has made me feel valued and appreciated at Mad North Raleigh. I wake up early and can’t wait to get to class. So much so that this last Saturday I ran out the door in my slippers and had forgotten to switch to my sneakers. I begged strangers in the parking lot for an extra pair of shoes in their car to no prevail. I wasn’t giving up though. I went in and Hannah, an instructor, of course walked up to welcome me. I said we have a problem! Without missing a beat she had her sneakers off and she traded for my house slippers. I was so thankful and excited. It made my day and made me feel part of the crew, again in a genuine way. No fake, just to your face bs. Come check out a class, you will not regret it.

MAD (•Momentum •Anaerobic •Durability) workouts are a great complement to yoga. Each day, the classes focus on one of those three themes, which basically just changes the cadence of the circuit.
I could feel a difference after the first workout--the strengthening of my joints. I felt good! And, appreciate the attention to form.
The contract vibe overall feels annoying and is outdated imo, with fees for classes you miss, etc., but it's a tradeoff -like everything- and you can work around it.
Trainers are friendly and professional. 💪🏻💪🏻looking forward to building community here.

I am absolutely loving Madabolic North Raleigh! Since COVID, I've had a difficult time finding the right gym but I think I finally did! The instructors give great feedback and are both kind and encouraging. The workouts are full-body, challenging, and efficient. The equipment is plentiful and clean. The other members are welcoming and supportive. I also like that the gym is relatively small so I have felt quickly welcomed and known. Finally, as a mom and business owner with decision fatigue, I find it helpful to not have to decide what type of workout to do each day; I just show up and know that I'll be challenged in a helpful way.

The biggest testament to program success is when you see your trainers working out beside you in class. I love that they are part of the community.
My strength has improved since joining MAD as a Founding Member in November 2023. I've always gravitated toward cardio classes, but I love the mix of Momentum, Anaerobic, and Durability days.
Additionally, I've learned the importance of not overtraining. Your body NEEDS rest. In the past, I felt like I needed to workout 5-6 days a week. But no! Recovery is a celebrated and mandatory component of training protocol.
... plus, we have fun!

MADabolic is one of the best workout programs. It is way more than your typical group fitness class. It specializes in strength training - and the weights are heavy! My wife and I came for a class a few weeks ago and were very impressed with the structure and guidance by all the staff and trainers. Has the intensity and format of a CrossFit gym but also focuses on form so you don't injure yourself. Loved the experience and will definitely be back for more!! I really enjoy coming to this gym. It’s new, super clean and well kept. I like how the warmup is thoughtful based on what the workout will be for the day. The structure of the workout is 5 exercises and you can tell that it is methodically created so that you target certain muscle groups. The floor is already setup for you before you come in and everyone has plenty of space to move. The instructors are well trained and helpful with form. I definitely recommend checking it out!

I AM HOOKED! I love the format of the class and especially the focus on correct form. I have injured myself before, so I'm hyper aware of that and a bit scared to re-injure myself so I tend to be a little tentative, but having the knowledge about the correct form has already made such a difference. As a occasional visitor of the downtown Raleigh MADabolic location, I was excited to be able to check out the new location in North Raleigh during their opening week. There's 3 class types at MAD - Momentum/Anaerobic/Durability and I went and took an Anaerobic class with Hannah which was various cycles of stations with 45 secs on/45 secs off (4 cycles of kettlebell deadlifts, shuffle sprints, med ball shoulder toss, dumbbell presses and one round on the boxing bag).

Hannah kept the energy up throughout the class, did a great job making sure people were completing the exercises with good form/technique and making sure people like me weren't slacking off too much by the time the last cycle rolled around.

Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun workout that combines a good balance between strength and cardio (unlike some other places like Orangetheory that lean more towards cardio)
