I found MADabolic after a year of trying different things. I love everything about this place. The space, the workouts, the trainers - it's all great! I'm able to get in a workout that I would NEVER force myself to do alone lol but it doesn't over-work me to the point where I feel discouraged. I highly recommend trying this out if you're looking for a way to gain muscle, lose fat, and not have to come up with your own workouts every day.

I have been going to MAD Raleigh for a little over a year and I have been quite blown away by it.

Emily and Rob have cultivated and environment that keeps people around. Just ask around - most of the people have been going for years. Also, the cleanliness of the gym is 10/10 - which is so rare.

The trainers/coaches are knowledgeable and attentive the entire class. Encouraging you to push yourself a little harder, making necessary adjustments or modifications, and making the environment a little more fun to distract you from your heavy breathing, lol.

In the year, I have seen real results and felt real results. Seeing results like, increasing the weighted movements throughout the year. Feeling results like, increased energy throughout the day, feeling stronger in daily movements like lifting heavy boxes and working in the yard.

It had been over 10 years since I had been in any form of regular fitness activity. After being hesitant to give MADabolic (or any structured form of activity) a shot I finally did. At that point I never thought I would then see 1000 classes in my rear view mirror. The tiered system allows for individuals of all levels to participate and further develop based upon their personal goals and ability. The instructors are always there to correct and tweak form when needed in a manner that is encouraging and supportive. There is also a unique community feeling that develops by seeing a diverse group of people on a regular basis not just on the floor, but also at social events that are held throughout the year.

what an awesome workout! the gym itself is clean + well laid out. the staff i’ve met so far have been nice, and one of the owners, emily, was especially helpful on my first visit with making sure i felt welcome, understood the flow of things, offered encouragement throughout, and feedback afterwards. i really like how they incorporate boxing/bag work into every workout, and from what i can tell, a great variety of challenging workouts. this is a unique place that i look forward to jumping into fully!
edit: one year later and i’m still going strong (no pun intended) with my four mornings a week. if you’re looking for a gym that will challenge you, a place to meet and workout beside like minded people, and somewhere that you won’t get bored with the routine β€” this is the place!!

MAD is by far the best functional fitness programming available. I'm almost 500 workouts in and still genuinely look forward to every visit. At 48 years old I'm in the best shape of my life due to the incredible trainers at MAD, and the Raleigh location is among the best. The workout spaces are super clean and well organized. The anaerobic class led by Justin was a challenging and fun class! There was a thorough warm-up, well-rounded exercises with a variety of options with weights for different levels of fitness, very helpful feedback from Justin to help with form, and other members that were supportive to newcomers. Awesome gym for fitness classes! I was pleasantly surprised at how customer-focused they are. The instructors work hard to prep everything for the day, greet everyone by name, and they work closely with you on improving your form. The classes also mix up the workouts enough so that you work all your muscle groups and never get bored of doing the same thing.

I’m not usually one to leave a review BUT, MAD is awesome. They are extremely welcoming and make you feel like part of a community from the second you step foot through the doors. I've been attending MADabolic for a while now, and I can confidently say it's one of the best fitness experiences I've ever had. The standout feature for me is the way the instructors actively correct your form. This ensures you're getting the most out of each exercise and helps prevent injuries.

Very nice facility with very good equipment and plenty of it. It's not one of those gyms that seem to cater to the young and already fit only. Im 70 and felt completely at ease. Fellow gym mates were of all ages, supportive and focused on getting THEIR moves right, not the clearly oldest person in the class. Instructor, Lynnette, was awesome, gave clear instructions/demos and very patiently assisted anyone who needed her. Loved her playlist as well! Will definitely be back!

I first stepped foot in MADabolic Raleigh in January of 2015 and never looked back. Admittedly, I didn't want to go in, but my wife forced my hand. It was the best decision of my life!
Being a former pro athlete, I struggled to find a group fitness class that wasn't either a going to injure me OR was just some nonsensical movements with wildly light weights (aka. no results). MADabolic Raleigh checks all the boxes: super focused on technique/form (injury prevention), organization of workouts (very clear program), and effectiveness of the workouts.
I'm 44yo now, and can say that I'm in better shape than when I was playing ball professionally, all thanks to MAD!

As someone who has never done strength training, feared the weights section at gyms and afraid that it would make me look too β€œmuscular”, I was convinced to try MAD and became obsessed!

The program is easy to follow, all the trainers are super friendly and want you to succeed & the best part of it all is the community! Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging that I don’t feel self-conscious or embarrassed. I still can’t do a push-up, but it’s at least fun to try and laugh with my friends now. :)

THE BEST GYM this side of the Mississippi. I tried numerous gyms in the triangle before settling here and I love it. Here’s a few reasons why:

1. The programming is excellent. After multiple gym injuries, I was looking for somewhere with a holistic approach and this is it. Madabolic’s focus on form is everything I was looking for. Each workout is thoughtful, with consistent movements to perfect technique but enough variety to keep things fun.
2. The coaching is stellar. They’ll push you to increase your limits/try heavier weights, and help you modify when necessary.
3. The gym is spectacularly clean + organized. All you do is show up, pick your intensity level and move through the workout. The weights and equipment are set up so you can put your mental and physical energy into moving your weights rather than worrying about what to choose and how to get them from A to B.

Other highlights include: regular baseline workouts to track growth, community hangs, and movement workshops to improve form to name a few.

I've been to a number of different gyms & group fitness classes, but absolutely nothing comes close in comparison to MAD! This is the only group fitness class I have ever found that actually uses weights and helps you get stronger, rather than just focusing all the effort on cardio. All of the movements are safe, well taught, and have a minimal risk for injury - which allows for any age or fitness level to participate and thrive. There are two key elements that make MADabolic the best gym around: the people and the programming. Emily, Rob, and team have made this a welcoming space for anybody looking to focus on their health and fitness, regardless of ability. As a recent transplant to the Raleigh area, MAD quickly became a place where I felt comfortable and made several new friends. The programming is the smartest you will find in any group-style gym. Since I studied strength & conditioning at the graduate level, I'm probably more critical than most when it comes to workouts. This program is clearly rooted in science, doesn't follow fads, simple, and most importantly - effective. I have become significantly stronger over the past year. Every trainer is highly educated on the purpose of each workout and how it fits into the bigger picture. Don't expect to see ra-ra style cheerleader trainers at MAD. Instead, know that no matter who is teaching class that day, you will get a technically sound, subject matter expert making sure your form and technique is perfect so that you can stay safe and progress through the program as intended. I am so happy that I found MAD Raleigh and would recommend it to anyone!

Probably the best gym I have ever joined. Unbelievable workouts that are different every time I go. I can expect the unexpected whether it be a durability, anaerobic, or a momentum day we are always doing different exercises. This makes it way more enjoyable then doing a mundane workout day on your own at a gym. The instructors are all great and understanding of each movement, particularly in my case where balance is not my strong suit. They offer plenty of times to go during the day whether you are a morning person or want to hit it in the afternoon there is always a time available. It's tough making the gym enjoyable but somehow MADabolic pulls it off easily. Would highly recommend this MADabolic to anyone looking for a new gym.

This is an amazing gym space. Regardless of your fitness level , you will find an opportunity to engage in physical training that will be well worth the investment of time you put into this gym (about 3-4 times a week, each session about 30 minutes of intensive training , with 10 minutes of warm up and orientation).

The staff are very professional and knowledgeable, and provide real time feedback so that your physical training (whether it involves kettlebells , medicine balls, etc) is done in a manner that optimizes your safety while also improving your fitness level.

I just completed my 15th class at MADabolic Raleigh. As someone with severe gym anxiety, this is a huge accomplishment. I have never considered myself an athlete but the trainers at MADabolic have been patient in making sure I can safely complete all the moves without injury, modifying exercises when needed. I am able to complete the movements at my pace without having to stress about a set number of reps. The time at work is the focus. I am about 50lbs overweight and have some balance issues. I have always let these impairments keep me from the gym. However, I can feel myself making progress and getting stronger in the movements and my balance and stability is improving. All of the coaches have gone out of their way to help me find my confidence and build my strength and endurance. The gym can be intimidating but Coach Sarah keeps reminding me that by showing up I am doing the important work towards achieving better health. The workouts are not easy and they will not get easier. I will just get better at the movements and lift heavier. I'm looking forward to watching my continued progress.

Great workout! I signed up for the introductory offer (10 days for $10); and it was well worth it! The trainers spent the first few minutes explaining the equipment and interval rotations. During the workout, the trainer provided both form guidance and reassurance. I purchased a package after the trial period ended. I would highly recommend MADabolic! The 10-day period allows you to try at least one of each class type (anaerobic, momentum, and durability).

I tried MADabolic with the 10 for 10 special and was immediately hooked. I love the variability and the attention to form and detail. My favorite days are definitely anaerobic and momentum, but I appreciate the durability days which work on aspects I wouldn't do on my own such as functional core and grip strength training. Being a physical therapist, I really appreciate the importance MADabolic trainers place on correct mechanics. I would 10/10 recommend this gym to friends, family, and patients!
