I am a 58 year old who was looking for some exercise that was fun and exciting. NC Budo was the best place I could find that meets these needs. Jena and Michael are wonderful and helped me find the best classes to achieve my goals. I HIGHLY recommend joining NC Budo!!!

Would love to join but can't commit to $1200 up front for my child to try something new when he may want to quit a week or two later. No monthly fee is a deal breaker. Like paying someone up front for the summer to cut your grass. No way.

I reached out to NC Budo because I needed after school care quickly for my daughter. They were able to get me in quick which was great. But they like to leave things out and not mention them to you. So I’ll do that with this post! They told me the first week was going to be 50 dollars for signing up and then the first week would be prorated. They charged me three times that week. 1 for the 50 dollar charge and then 2, 90 dollar fees. One for that week, and then for the next week?? Which they never mentioned they would be doing. Fast forward it’s been about a month, my daughter is barely going and I do not have the money to continue paying. They tell me that this is a year long contract that you cannot break. WHICH YET AGAIN WAS NOT MENTIONED WHEN I SIGNED MY DAUGHTER UP. They are refusing to let me go even though I physically cannot continue paying. Their way of offering other ways of help is just letting you continue paying and that money will go to summer school instead. That obviously does not work as I do not have the money right now? The mention of this being a 12 month program is something you have to read when you’re doing all the signing. It’s in the disclosure clause (and let’s be real, how many of us read those). Yes that’s my fault, but they know exactly what they are doing. The sneakiness is disgusting. You’re supposed to be a family oriented place and I’m definitely not seeing any of those traits.

We first enrolled our oldest son back in 2018 with NC Budo. We have had the pleasure of not only knowing Sensei Mike and Sensei Jenna for the past 6 years but the pleasure of watching this wonderful organization grow from a karate school, to starting a small after school program, to moving into a larger building, to growing into what it is today, a wonderful multifunctional program that is truly a great and vital part of our community! We unfortunately had to take a break during COVID but could not be happier to be back and to now having both of our boys thriving at NC Budo! Thankful that NC Budo is apart of our past, present, and the future of our lives!

The best place my son has been under the care of well-trained and empathetic people. I would choose and recommend the same place over and over again. Thank you for everything you do for my son.

I attended a trial Adult kickboxing/muy thai class and LOVED it! I can be very nervous in class settings as I'm not very coordinated and the instructor was phenomenal. He did a great job coaching me through how to do everything and I never felt left in the dust. It was the most fun workout I have had in a long time. Can't wait for my schedule to change so I can start attending! Can't recommend enough.

I love this place! After moving here 3 years ago and not having a lot of resources, NC Budo was perfect for my schedule, after school pick up and the prices were better rates than where I am from in the Midwest! They have always been helpful, personable, everyone knows everyone. They have became like family and that means a lot not knowing many people here. They have a great program that my son is excited about now and training for competitive karate classes after 6pm. We will now be traveling with the team and families we have came to know and love. I am incredibly grateful and happy to have found them. This was my first choice and last. We won’t go anywhere else.

I put my daughter in the NC Budo karate class about 2 years ago, it has helped build her confidence tremendously. I joined the Muay Thai kickboxing class and it is something I look forward to every week and is a great stress reliever. I am a single father that needed after school care for my daughter as well. She absolutely loves going to the after school program and looks forward to attending. I highly recommended NC Budo and haven’t regretted for one moment enrolling in their programs. We look forward to any new activities they may add in the future.

My experience with NC Budo, Jenna and Michael was phenomenal! They provided solid kinesthetic learning in a highly specialized skill. They focused on my individual needs and assessment. It was therapeutic in a way that words cannot describe. Thank you for being part of my destiny!

Unethical and completely unreasonable. Refuse to release me from a contract because my CHILD can no longer physically attend class. So sure keep taking money from me. I'm sure the 4 classes my daughter attended was worth the $1000+ I've already paid you.

One of our girls has been attending NC Budo for a little over three years now. She fell in love with the atmosphere and being on a positive team. She eventually started with the competition team learning more and finding her way through the sport. What we loved as parents was the safe atmosphere, stellar leadership, and that our kid was learning how to deal with real life and learning to control herself in social situations.

I personally have started taking the adult Muay Thai class. Taking these classes has given new perspective and life to me! Jena, thanks for continuing to push me to try it out and for training with me. Looking forward to the growth that comes with hard work.

If you haven’t checked them out, you could be missing out on a great opportunity. My wife and I can’t say enough good things about NC Budo and all those lead or are employed there. Thank you for all you do. We love y’all!

I absolutely love this place! My son has been taking Karate for a year now, he has learned so many new techniques but even better than mastering palm strikes and blocks is the time and energy NC Budo puts into making the class fun as well as educational. Sensei Mike and Sensei Jena are so great with kids and I'm honored to have them in my sons life. I also take Self Defense once a week, it's a great class that is informative on a practical level. Tell all your friends, you need to try it and see what you're missing.

Thank you to NC Budo for not only being an awesome place for martial arts and yoga, but for being so incredibly welcoming (especially for a beginner like myself!) NC Budo feels more like a family than a company, I look forward to coming more and more each week. You're in the best hands at NC Budo, I highly recommend joining for any type of class there!

It's so exciting to have a martial arts center located in Belmont. My 4-year old goes to karate classes twice a week and looks forward to seeing Sensei Michael and the other kids all the time. Sensei Michael is very patient with his classes and his kind and positive attitude is something that has always encouraged me to do better in the year and a half that I've learned under him.

All of the other instructors in the center that I have met have all shared similar passion for their respective areas. NC Budo is filling a niche in Belmont and it's exciting to me to see how well of a fit it will be in the community. Check it out!
