About the Club

Located just off Monroe Rd in Oakhurst Commons NoDa Yoga offers multiple styles of yoga for all levels of experience. We specialize in gentle, restorative, vinyasa and yin yoga with a focus on functional anatomy. In our continued efforts to offer personalized attention and instruction, NoDa Yoga maintains small class sizes and encourages the use of props.
Our instructors have advanced training and certifications in anatomy, therapeutics, mindfulness, and trauma to support each student’s individual needs during their own yoga journey.

All of our classes are intended to encourage student exploration over what the poses β€œshould look like,” using yoga as a way to connect on a deeper level with mind, body, and breath.

I loved the flow that Ben led - he held space for students to flow how they wanted with variations, so we had the freedom and time to choose more restorative options or more active ones without pressure to do one or the other. About half the time, I think yoga classes in the west tend to be quite militant with being super "work-out"-ey rather than a moving meditation. This was not that case, and I loved that! I'd recommend Ben's class to anyone of any experience level. The studio itself was very cute and clean, the staff was super friendly!

I love this yoga studio! Teachers are incredible and they have recently added additional classes so you can definitely find a way to fit it into your schedule. I always leave feeling restored. FYI the parking lot can be very full at peak times so you may have to try street parking or park at the SECU next door.

I participated in the free, beginners class on Monday night with instructor Vance. I felt like the class was informational and the instructor was knowledgeable about the poses. The facility as a whole was clean, had more than enough equipment and most importantly, was all inclusive. I will be returning for more classes!

Noda Yoga is the most welcoming studio I have visited in Charlotte, and it shows in the diversity of instructors and students. Classes are accessible to all levels, and are the perfect mix of asana and mindfulness practice. Many other studios cater to a specific type of student and rely heavily on physical fitness, it feels more like a boot camp than a practice - you will not find that atmosphere here!!

I hadn't practiced yoga in years and my body was recently sick for a while. I just moved here and a friend of mine recommended NoDa Yoga. I was nervous to start again and was nervous to trust my body. I took a beginners course that Daniel taught and felt like I learned a lot and was encouraged by them. The different techniques on where to put pressure and where to align my hips helped my body feel strong. The meditations about just showing up for your body and setting intentions made me feel at peace with not being able to do what my pre-sickness body could do. I would love to go to a class taught by Daniel again!

Friendly environment, clean, helpful, I really like the teacher (Robin). I was apprehensive about trying a class - but felt completely at ease there. It's real people doing yoga - it felt authentic and genuine. I also think it says a lot that the Monday night Beginners class welcomes you (at no cost) until you feel comfortable joining another class. I think that says a lot about NoDa Yoga.

This was my second visit, both classes were very well taught. I enjoy a flow class first thing in the morning to warm up for the day, and both instructors I've had have been great at creating classes that can challenge different levels, and creating a peaceful, welcoming environment. I’ve been going to classes in person at this studio for over eight years and it still remains one of the most magical studios in Charlotte. The class offerings are great for folks at all levels and the studio has handled the pandemic so well with their virtual offerings. I can’t say enough great things about this studio because the owner and instructors truly feel like family; I always leave class feeling so nourished physically and emotionally. I wish I could give this studio so many more stars. I began taking at this studio on and off for a couple of years. Charlotte's yoga world has grown over the last 4-5 years but Noda Yoga is one of the most inviting and diverse studios I have ever been to. Their 200 hour yoga teacher training, which I had the opportunity to complete, is one of the best in Charlotte giving you the chance to learn about all facets of yoga and not just one particular technique. I feel so lucky to have found this community and hate when I spend a long amount of time away. The owner Jillian is one of the best people as well. Thank you Noda Yoga :)

Jillian (studio owner) has taken great care to create a welcoming environment for all people, all the classes offered here are taught by teachers that are well trained- many have specialty training in trauma, body-positivity, or within a specific linage of yoga. You wont find any inauthentic posturing here- just genuine care for students and their ultimate well-being. Within all the classes I have taken here, I continue to be amazed by how REAL and present the teachers are. They all truly care and as such, eliminate some of the variables that often pop up in other studios that I have attended... no intense hands on assists (in fact, many teachers do not offer assists as this is not recommended for trauma sensitive classes) or overly complicated or inauthentic "teachings" on topics that the teachers themselves do not embody or understand. Its refreshing and makes this studio feel like a yoga "home" for many of us. I learn new things and deepen my 10+ year yoga practice with every visit. Teachers always make themselves available after class to answer questions and I always leave feeling better in my body and in my spirit. I'm deeply grateful for the gift that is Jillian and NoDa Yoga.

It pains me to write a negative review about a yoga studio that is supposed to signify a place of peace and kindness but I feel that other consumers need to be made aware of the illegal bait and switch marketing practices of this studio.

I signed up for a 60 minute vinyasa class through the mind body app used by the vast majority of studios for scheduling and payment of classes. I then drove over 30 minutes to the studio and battled the non existent Sunday morning parking in NODA and made it to the studio with 10 minutes to spare.

The class was CLEARLY advertised as a $10 class for which I paid in full. Not only was there a clear $10 mark over the sign up button for this particular class, but when I went to pay it gave me the $10 option to book the same class. So imagine my surprise when myself and 2 of my girlfriends (who had also booked and paid $10 online for the same class) were told by the woman at the check in desk that there was a mistake on their website (no apology), and that the actual price for this class is $18. A line started to build up behind us as the other students filtered into class.

When we voiced our frustration at the bait and switch tactic used, the woman at the front desk told us we could speak to the owner of the studio (who also happened to be TEACHING THE CLASS). This was the most disturbing part of the experience because the owner saw us, chose not to honor the price listed on her website and paid by 3 of her customers and then blatantly chose to ignore us and force the front desk clerk to deal with the situation. She did not apologize, she did not introduce herself but she made damn sure to get the extra $8 from each of us.

The class itself was also an extreme let down, especially considering this is a studio owner teaching and not a recent YTT grad. Again, no introduction whatsoever at the beginning of class. She did not mention her name, the style of class, or even both to ask the new students in the class their names or level of experience. She did not ask of anyone had any injuries prior to class. She did not offer any hands on assists. The verbal cues were nothing more than calling the English name of the pose. Not one word of Sanskrit was used and not one mention of what yoga is as a sacred tradition for the entire 60 minutes. There was no meditation or linking movement to breath in the entire practice. The entire concept of yoga is lost on this owner. It was literally a 60 min low level aerobics class for $18 and I feel cheated. Needless to say I will not be back to this studio, and anyone with a serious yoga practice or respect for the sacred traditions should not either. I am beyond saddened and disappointed by the ownership’s actions today.

I have been to Nate's Monday and Saturday Classes and have never been so comfortable and relaxed in his class. He uses a different culture and energy to make the room feel very relaxed. Even physically the yoga poses and the whole practices both Monday and Saturday can prepare you for the week or the weekend. He gives you a great deep stretch on either Saturday or Monday and tops off the amazing class with lavender towels which make you really think back to your focus for the practice. I personally appreciate Nates hard work during the practice and outside of the practice as he brings the he brings the lavender towels to his practice. I have been telling many people about his class and hope to see huge turnouts in his class in the near future. Good Work Nate!

When I moved to Charlotte two years ago, I found a home at Noda Yoga. The studio has a rare and absolutely wonderful community vibe. Everyone is welcoming and teachers hold space for everybody and every body. Classes and workshops reflect a variety of styles. If you’ve never tried yoga, you can’t beat this place being your first experience with the practice; if you’ve tried yoga and weren’t sure it’s for you, this studio is a warm place to welcome you back; and if you practice yoga regularly, I hope you find this studio as much like home as I do.

If you are a novice or an expert, the NoDa Yoga community is ready to welcome you at your pace. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and friendly; they are engaged in the class and helping everyone get the most out of the experience. As soon as I walk in the door I go into zen mode and it remains with me for hours after I leave. What I absolutely love about NoDa Yoga is that there is no pressure ... check them out, you'll be glad you did!

This place is extraordinary special - the classes and instructors (all the staff in general and also the clients), the loving and welcoming atmosphere as well as the feeling of being part of an awesome and unique community. I felt at home (far away from my actual home) the first time I stepped into this beautiful little studio.

I tried several different studios in the Charlotte area when I moved here, but NoDa Yoga is by far the best I have ever been to. The different classes are open to all levels of experience and give you the opportunity to challenge yourself and improve your practice. You get personal adjustments if you wish for and also tips for your daily practice in case you have any injuries or pain. The staff at NoDa Yoga honestly cares about their clients.

Not only the physical practice is special but also the mindset that is taught with each class. At NoDa Yoga you not only practice yoga, you experience and live yoga and the spirit.

I love the people and the vibe at NoDa yoga and would highly recommend to experience this special atmosphere for yourself. But be careful, it's addictive :)

NoDa Yoga is a great place for all levels of practitioners. If you're just starting out in yoga, these teachers can help you gain both skills and confidence in your practice. And if you're an avid yogi like me, every class provides opportunities for growth and learning. It's a gorgeous place to practice with a comfortable entry area, a bright and airy practice room, a nice bathroom, and props galore. I had never seen sandbags in a yoga room before. That's a great prop for low backs and shoulders as I learned in Katie's restorative class. And I had never heard the cue--"Turn toward the Buddha wall" ---before I attended classes here. There's something nice and peaceful in having the Buddha wall watching you as you practice. It's a special place. I'll definitely return.

Hands down my favorite yoga studio in Charlotte! For years I bounced from studio to studio trying to find one to call "home". From the moment I walked into NoDa Yoga 3+ years ago, I felt overwhelmingly welcome, supported and appreciated. The instructors are all PHENOMENAL and I love that the studio has such a strong therapeutic, restorative, and veterans base - more than just a vinyasa flow (which I love as well)!

I can't say enough good things about this place. The vibes, the instructors, the classes, the people, the atmosphere. It's all so great :) I'm new to yoga, about 3 weeks in and I ABSOLUTELY love it because of this place. Jillian was the instructor for my first class and she made me feel so welcome, and helped me with everything!

NoDa Yoga completely changed my view of yoga. It is a warm, welcoming, and caring studio that TRULY cares for the students! All the instructors are AMAZING and so personable, you'll instantly feel "at home" after your first class! This studio offers everything from gentle and restorative to cardio-inspired classes. If you haven't tried NoDa Yoga yet, DO IT!
