I want to clarify an error in my original review. The total amount I was incorrectly charged was $240 over a 3-month period after cancellation ($80/month), not $80 per month after a cancellation fee. That was my mistake in wording. However, the core issue remains the same: I continued being billed for three months after canceling, and I only received a partial refund after calling more than 30 times over 9 weeks.
On the four occasions the gym actually answered the phone, I was told my cancellation was “in progress” and “being taken care of,” but the charges continued. The only reason anything was eventually refunded was because I kept following up repeatedly.
What pushed this situation from a simple billing problem to something more serious was what happened afterward. An employee, Peyton, contacted me directly through phone, email, and then my personal Instagram account regarding my review. The messages came across as pressure to edit or remove my review, and he implied things about my “reputation” despite the fact that I’m not even from this area and barely know anyone here.
I originally planned to leave the issue alone once the billing was corrected, but the repeated personal contact and the tone of the messages made me feel uncomfortable and crossed a boundary. I believe communication about customer feedback should stay professional and through appropriate business channels, not personal accounts.
Because of this escalation, I have documented everything — call logs, screenshots, emails, billing history, etc. — and have submitted the information to the NCDOJ and BBB. My intention is not to attack anyone, but to provide an accurate account of what occurred so others are aware of how cancellations and follow-up communication may be handled.
I hope this helps improve future customer experiences and communication policies.

$80 a month for out of date equipment, ripped benches. Be warned they charge $10 just to try the place out. Parking is not guaranteed and fills up quickly. Wouldn’t recommend. Additionally, ticks like to fester outside the building, found 5 ticks on my clothes walking in. Note: the owner reached out, offering a complimentary review after this review. However, the front desk did not offer this despite explaining we are switching gyms. Therefore we were forced to pay the fee. Based off the other reviews, I am going to eat the $$ and avoid the place.

PROS:
I love the equipment at this gym and I’ve met some incredible people here who are seriously dedicated to fitness. When I first started coming to Olympus this was great in helping me stay motivated, I made major progress because these people are inspiring to work out around.
CONS:
There are a lot of bugs and the vibes in general are really off putting. When I signed up I was greeted and acknowledged daily by the person who signed me up. The more I came, the more I noticed other front desk employees on their phone or talking to other staff behind the desk, just ignoring patrons. The guy I told about the bug infestation a few weeks ago just replied “yeah” and went back to phone time. Also the women’s restroom goes days without being cleaned. There was actual poop in the little in-stall trash can for a really long time. Again, not all of the staff is inept, I have had good experiences a few times.
I’ve spoken with other members, mainly female, and the consensus is that this place has its fair share of judgmental and mean people and if you don’t fit in they’ll be sure to let you know by glaring or actually going up to you to say off the wall things.
The facility, aside from the bugs, is pretty cool, but I personally cant justify going when the vibes are so bad. Good luck friends.

I cannot say enough good things about Olympus athletic club. I have been a member there for about 4 years now and I still remember the first time I came in there I was greeted by the owner and workers immediately. I truly call this place my home even though I drive 25 minutes from wake forest. If anyone is in the area I would definitely recommend this gym the atmosphere and vibes are amazing nothing can beat it!

If I could put a zero star review I would. They will try and bill you for months after then deny you tried to cancel your account. ABC Fitness Is the billing company they used. I tried emailing, calling, going in person to the gym to cancel and they had me jumping through hoops to try and cancel. They don’t even apologize for this happening and it’s consistent for many of their customers. Bad service and poor maintenance. Be aware of this gym! Do not sign up!
Update! The billing company tried to charge me for 500 dollars. Had to dispute it with my bank, this is the standard for this gym it seems.

THE BEST GYM in North Carolina! I’ve been going to Olympus for the last 3 years now. I moved to Charlotte after the first year and I have now moved back to Raleigh and the number one reason for moving back was THIS GYM. I’ve been to multiple Gyms both in Raleigh and Charlotte, but the Olympus Athletic Club is THE BEST gym I have been to. They have the best equipment, the best atmosphere, the best members, the best staff, and the best owner. They are CONSTANTLY finding ways to improve and invest into their gym and their members. If you come to this gym you will certainly have the best lifts of your life and you will be motivated to constantly show up tomorrow and push yourself to always be better than yesterday!

Payed 85 dollars to sign up and I clearly asked the kid working there that this is all I have to pay till a month from now right? And he said yes I said are you sure I'm not gonna get billed a week from now he said no your good I said ok. Less then a week later they tried to bill 75 dollars from my card, after trying to talk it out with the 2 kids working there they were indifferent and had an attitude that let me know that they could care less and blamed it on the fact that the kid who signed me up was new. I told them I would like to discontinue my membership I don't want to do business with a lame organization and they told me I'd have to pay 250$ to cancel otherwise it will mess with my credit. All in all as an honest hard working owner of 2 businesses I felt scammed and brushed off to the side what a joke.

Best non - commercial gym your going to find in the triangle and I have been to them all. Far and wide between the planet fitness, golds, garage gyms. This is the best gym and theres 2 of them between Raleigh and the coast. Cool group of guys in this gym. Great tools and machines. They have everything you need to get jacked. Sports medicine, pre-made food, posing room. Would highly recommend checking them out🤌🏽

They have a bit of an ongoing front-door situation. If I'm paying for 24/hr access, please at least send out a notices which alert your members that it's off the table temporarily because x, y, z.
There's also front desk staffing issues? Have to imagine they could raise incentives for employees considering the respectable member fees of something close to 100/mo?
Anyways, great otherwise. Great facilities

They will continue billing you months after you cancel regardless of how many times they tell you they’ve stopped charging you.
I cancelled my membership in May (now august). I’ve been told every month my membership was cancelled and I won’t be billed again in person, over the phone, and messaging them on social media. Yet once again I’ve been billed.
I decided to cancel because the gym is filthy. Excluding the one day a week cleaners come in it is trashed. People never put their weights away so you spend half your time there picking up after other people. And all the wannabe influencers who have 3 different bags of camera equipment and take up multiple machines they aren’t even using to pile it all on top of gets old fast. Super annoying when you need to use something and can’t because someone with 30 Instagram followers feels the need to use it to store all of their camera stuff.
I loved Olympus when I first signed up and was a member there for close to 2 years. It went down hill though and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
The only pro they have is that they do have the best quality and variety of equipment. But that’s quickly negated by all the negatives.

Been a member here for about 18 months. Best gym in the city for people who actually lift and do the work. The place isn't frou-frou but it has the best trainers and regulars of any place I've been, and I think I've tried every gym in town for at least a few months before I got fed up with the pretense and intimidation. The trainers and staff are super helpful. You can ask them to show you lifts you're not familiar with and there's no posturing -- just friendly, chill, generosity. And the regulars are just as kind, just as easy-going. Even tho most of the regulars are serious body-builders (and it shows!) they are also humble and so happy to help newbies and people (like me) who may not be into big guns but want to stay in good shape. I highly recommend!

I joined this gym after moving to Raleigh from Apex a few weeks back. I was training at Bucked up fitness. Olympus is a small gym that has that old school feel. If you like training in the early morning, around 4 or 5am you can enjoy being alone and at peace. I have been to this gym from 3am to 10am and it’s never over crowded. The equipment is not bad with a good verity to choose from. Downfall, not enough steel plates and you will find yourself hunting them down and places to re-rack them. People are nice and I’ve had no issues. This place is 24hrs with a phone app pass and is the best part.

I went to Olympus around noon one day looking for a gym to join to get back into lifting after taking some time off. Walking in, I was greeted by the rudest, most unprofessional employee I have ever met working behind the counter. This young man was impatient, belittling, and difficult to get information out of. Had I been a first-time gym goer, I may have left right there. This encounter talked me right out of a membership and into a day pass instead. Outside of that, I had a great lift. The gym has a ton of great equipment, enough space for all your exercises, and i like that it has 24/7 access. That being said, there are other gyms in the Raliegh area to get a lift in. Why would I choose to lock myself into a monthly payment at a place where the staff can't even conduct themselves in a professional manner?

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A GYM? Do you want a sushi lounge/pool/heated lockeroom floors/hairdressers/GARBAGE lifefitness(hammerstrength) machines? Then head on down the road to LIfetime. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING IN SHAPE this is where you go. They have HIGH END BODYBUILDING equipment you rarely see in big box gyms because that equipment is too expensive and too expensive to maintain. STRIVE/PRIME/NAUTILUS/DYNABODY/BODYMASTERS/ARSENAL(most arsenal equipment I have seen at any gym) It was not crowded when I went because they do have a slightly higher price point I think but it is not crazy overpriced. This gym is comparable to Fitness Factory(100$clt) and The Office(40-50Lakewylie) so 70$ is not crazy expensive. One muscle group I would add a machine or 2 is biceps but they got everything else covered and legs and chest have a boatload of new arsenal stuff for. The bathroom was clean but there is one toilet in the mens room so be aware of this. Only been once but incredible vibe and getting a 45$ 5 day travelers pass took about 20seconds.

It's "ok", at best.
Plenty of equipment, for all muscle groups, but plates are in seemingly short supply. If any more than a few people are doing legs simultaneously, especially if they go heavy during busy hours, there could be a shortage unless they pull them from other parts of the gym--where others may need them.
The 24 hour access is awesome, very convenient for both early and late workouts.
The location isn't great in terms of getting there; you can only come into the parking lot from one direction. This of course can't easily be fixed, if at all, but it is what it is.
The free range access to the Bluetooth speaker system before/after hours should be rethought--not everyone wants to hear the overbearing profanities.
WHY...why, why, why...is a non-service dog being permitted on the workout floor??? Should a member really be obligated to ask another to move their dog so that they can use the piece of equipment that it's been tethered to???

Very good old school bodybuilding equipment from the likes of Body Masters, Nautilus, Cybex, etc. Tons of dumbbells and unique Arsenal strength machines. My first issue is that the staff is very disinterested, they really don't give a rip about you and just sit behind the desk on their phones. Also, it's insanely expensive; it costs $20 just for a day pass and $75 per month. Even as a bodybuilding enthusiast, I can't see how this is a fair price. The equipment is great but it's not a huge space and there are no other amenities to make this price somehow more reasonable. Also, the bathroom is not in the best condition, it has just the absolute bare necessities in there. My last thing is they had a dog roaming free, I don't get how on earth that can be perceived as good when it's a distraction from your workout. Disgraceful from that aspect. Decent gym overall, good equipment but everything else is not.

I had a terrible experience from the start. After only 2 months, I decided to cancel my membership for multiple reasons (dog peeing on the turf, worms every where on the floor, and an extremely rude employee). I called to cancel over the phone and was told my account was deactivated. When I came in to workout, I confirmed that my cancelation was completed and I asked if I needed to send in an email. I was told I was good to go. Today, my accountant informed me I have been charged every month since my cancelation. They of course will not refund me because they do not have an email from me stating I wanted to cancel. Go figure.

I called to ask some questions about signing up for their "7 day free trial." I was told over the phone that if you don't sign up after the trial you have to pay for the 7 days. I'm glad I didn't sign up for the trial beforehand. It doesn't state on the sign up information that they require this. How would you even know? Definitely not cool, and displays more of a money hungry agenda than a customer service based one.
