Our family had a deeply disappointing experience at Perfect Balance Training Center. This program damaged my daughter’s emotional well-being and completely failed to prioritize the growth or care of her as a young athlete.
My daughter trained over 10 hours a week, and one afternoon, I walked into practice and personally witnessed coaches making fun of my daughter’s run during vault warm-ups and laughing to one another. Even after they saw me standing there, their behavior did not change.
The following day, I privately emailed both the Pre-Team Director and the owner to bring this to their attention and express my disappointment and concern, expecting at least acknowledgment or follow-up. Neither have ever responded and it has been almost 2 months. Their silence and inaction speak volumes about their leadership and values.
Rather than building my daughter’s confidence, the coaches broke her down, insulted her, and ultimately refused to coach her. This behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable for anyone working with children.
Other reviews reference the same lack of accountability from the owners and coaching staff—and I can confirm those concerns are valid. Their absence of responsibility and professionalism is unacceptable. PBTC failed to demonstrate even the most basic level of care, respect, and responsibility and parents deserve to know how little regard is given to a child’s well-being.

My daughter loves gymnastics here. Deducted a star because I (and other parents) SO wish there was a safe spot for younger siblings to be during class. They barely open the playground, even on nice days.

If you’re looking for instructors who genuinely care about children, I highly recommend choosing The Little Gym over Perfect Balance. While the monthly cost at The Little Gym may be slightly higher, the overall experience is significantly better.
My son is three years old, and like many children his age, listening is still a skill we’re working on. I initially thought Perfect Balance would be a great place for him to develop new skills and improve focus. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.
During one class, the instructor became visibly irritated when my son got distracted or didn’t follow instructions. At the end of class, she had him line up with the other children to receive a stamp for participation. She even dipped the stamp in the ink pad, only to look him in the eye and tell him he wasn’t getting a stamp because he hadn’t listened. I understand the importance of teaching children accountability, but I strongly believe the instructor’s approach was unnecessarily petty and inappropriate for a three-year-old.
If she felt it was important for him not to receive a stamp, she could have spoken to me directly. I would have respected that. But having him go through the motions—only to publicly deny him a small reward—felt more like punishment than a teaching moment. Because of this experience, I ended our membership effective immediately.
We will continue going to The Little Gym, where the instructors are patient, supportive, and understand that children—especially toddlers—have good and bad days. They work with him, not against him.
One final thought for any parent considering Perfect Balance: my son also participates in Soccer Shots, where I regularly see other three-year-olds wander off, lose focus, or struggle to follow instructions. Yet, at the end of practice, those children still receive stamps and stickers—not because they performed perfectly, but because they showed up and tried. Why? Because they’re three, they’re still learning and deserve encouragement, not shame.
Update: Thank you for your response. I agree that every family is looking for the right fit, and I’m glad we’ve found that elsewhere.
Regarding your comments about my conduct, I’m disappointed by how it was characterized. While I was understandably upset—as any parent might be in this circumstance —I expressed my concerns directly and calmly. I told the staff that in future circumstances the instructor speak to the parent first. When my father attempted to step in, I clearly told him I was handling the situation and asked him to leave.
I’d like to add one final point: the owners and staff never reached out to apologize for the situation. That alone speaks volumes about the nature of the program. I sincerely hope no other child has to endure what mine went through today.

My child was enrolled in the camp for summer. Camp age range was pretty broad but we were told kids her own age would be in the camp and it would be skills based so she would learn and develop. Unfortunately she was about 3 years older than the next oldest with most being much younger. And the skills were the same she did when she was about 4 or 5 years younger. Camp does a good job providing a fun environment for kids less than 10 but would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want a preteen age kid to develop intermediate skills. Caveat emptor.

The place is nice for recreational gymnastics, and I hear their competitive teams do really well. She was having fun and the coaches were all nice, but after a while the rec program felt like a bit of an assembly line - I kept asking people what our daughter needed to progress, and we couldn't get a straight answer from anyone, she always seemed to get lost in the shuffle there. We moved to a different gym, and within a few months she had already moved up a few levels and had started competing.

As a parent with no knowledge of gyms in the area, we lucked up on Perfect Balance after attending a birthday party there. A few months later, we had my daughter's birthday there and have been there ever since. We love the gym, the coaches, and all the teams. My daughter has grown so much in her 6 years at the gym. We love our PBTC family!!

My daughter's been going to Perfect Balance for over a year now and we absolutely love it! The coaches are great and they really push the kids and teach them the right fundamentals from the start. My daughter has learned so much in this last year and has moved up two levels since we've been here. So glad we chose PBTC!

Terrible organization. I don't recommend this place. They steal days, they close and don't make recovery seasons, today is the last day my daughter comes here. Every time I came to see my daughter perform I did not see improvement or doing something out of a daily basis

My daughter attends PBTC, SHE loves it!
The only negative thing I can say is that I wish they had smaller classes and not so many classes going on at the same time. Too crowded.

There is no where else I would send my daughter for competitive gymnastics. The coaches are amazing and you’ll find a unique TEAM culture for such an individualized sport. My daughter has thrived here both as a gymnast and as a young girl. You can’t go wrong with Perfect Balance!

I wish I could give double the amount of stars with the luxurious sense of feeling when I enter this building and send my kids in here, the staffing of coaches are just excellent and I couldn’t be gracious enough, everyday that I pick up my kids they have the happiest expression on their faces! I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone who may be on the fence or looking for somewhere that your kid can get the best experience possible!! I love the caliber of coaches they have there, they’re all so friendly!

As someone has been to multiple different gyms, this gym has been the best place I have ever been to. They treat you not just as a gymnast, but as a person. They want to know you for who YOU are. My coaches have gotten me to where I am today and I couldn’t be happier. I have met some of my best friends here. I love PBTC 🤍🤍

We are so happy to have found this great gym. They are inclusive, supportive and bring out the best in these kids. All levels, special needs, a diverse staff , are a few of the many reasons why this gym is a gem here in the Queen City.

As the mom of a competitive gymnast I have seen both the good and bad sides of gyms. Since my daughter has made the move here, she couldn’t be happier. She loves her coaches and has grown tremendously stronger. In addition, her skills have grown by leaps and bounds. I appreciate the focus this gym puts on quality coaching but that they also mix it up to make it so fun! Highly recommend PBTC to anyone looking for a quality gym with great coaching.

Wonderful place for kids to grow in strength, endurance, knowledge, discipline and experience the skill set of gymnastics. Toddlers to young adults are safely trained the basics and stringent techniques of this fun yet competitive sport. Clean atmosphere and staffing have the readiness and willingness to assist, from summer camp activities to birthday parties 🥳.

We recently purchased the birthday party package for my seven year old daughter’s party. Everything was so easy. The room was decorated perfectly, the young women who hosted/coached the party were very patient and made the experience so much fun for all the children. Everyone had a great time. I was relieved not to have to worry about keeping a dozen seven year olds busy, or about buying the paper products needed. Everything was taken care of for me. Payment was easy and effortless. Highly recommend.

Perfect balance is a fantastic gym. All the coaches are great with the kids. Yes, our kids are learning some amazing gymnastics, but even more impressive is the character development I've seen in my kids. They learn how to fail well, succeed well, work hard, and care for others. Highly recommend this gym!

They have a decent program... but Our kiddo is in preschool gymnastics and our current coach seems bored almost every week, and has trouble managing the kids when more than 2 show up for lessons. In addition, you'll find many of the staff to be fairly rude & abrupt to parents in general; for example yelling at parents across the gym (why not walk over?), laughing about it at the front desk (like bullies in high school?), whispering about parents or gossiping about kids in their programs.... within ear shot (just because we don't know who you're talking about doesn't mean the conversation isnt inappropriate in front of clients). I've witnessed it many times first hand, and today, was the recipient of rudeness from a staffer myself. We've been coming for over 2.5 years, and are putting in our 30 day notice. No need for this.
