After my husband and I retired we wanted to keep moving. We began our search for a place to go walk, exercise, etc. It didn’t take us long to find a place. Perfect Workout Gym is absolutely the perfect place for us. Perfect Workout offers so much to the young, elderly or retired folks like us. It’s so clean and there are so many machines that you never have to wait to exercise. After saying all of this the most important thing that really made our mind up to join was the respect and professional help we received from Courtney. She made us feel so welcome and to this day when we walk into Perfect Workout, she always has that sweet smile. At our age, sometimes you can be intimidated when entering a gym. We have definitely never felt that way and Courtney welcomes us with open arms.

I love my gym! Cleanest gym ever. I wish it was open later on weekends though. Maybe close at 6 or 7pm rather than 5pm. Ava and Wolfie are the gym mascots. 🐕 🐩I moved to Spartanburg and had to cancel my membership. It was easy, sent an email.. done! I’ve been a member at The Perfect Workout in Conover, NC on and off for several years. Unfortunately, I’ve had a recurring issue with their front-desk service, especially when it comes to handling membership changes. After canceling my membership recently, I’ve faced multiple hurdles just trying to scan in and access the gym during the notice period. Each visit, I received conflicting instructions from different staff members, and the overall attitude I encountered was less than welcoming.

While I understand that changes in membership can be administratively challenging, I believe that every customer deserves respectful and consistent communication. I hope the management will take this feedback constructively to improve the experience for future members. On a positive note, when the gym itself is accessible, it’s a great place to train.

This is my favorite gym in the tri-city area (Newton-Conover-Hickory). I love the track with the windows! My favorite place to work out is the cardio balcony but you cannot find better weight training equipment. My daughter (3) absolutely loves coming here and the staff in the child watch area are very gifted at keeping your kids safe and entertained so you can workout undistracted. It's so big that it never feels over crowded. There are tons of side rooms to workout in depending on your personal neeeds. They have really nice locker room/restroom/showers/saunas. There's even boxing equipment area and a yoga room. There are classes for every level of fitness. There is nothing else like this anywhere near the area. To make it even more fabulous, they accept most major insurance plans like Silver Shoes.

I was a member of another local gym and started taking weight training much more seriously. I needed more diverse equipment and The Perfect Workout is where I found it. I completed a 10 week bodybuilding plan here and had all the equipment I needed. Also, the price is very fair for what you get at this gym. The convenient location also added to my success. Really thankful I found this gym. It also has great vibes. If you’re lucky, you’ll even get to pet a dog there. What more could you ask for?

I've been in the area for a month for work and this gym has been the place I look most forward to after long days. The gym is clean, well maintained, and the staff are friendly and kind. Even if you are looking for a place to bulk up, join fitness classes, or maintain your current status Perfect Workout Gym is the place to go. They have tons of equipment for all levels and it's a really clean gym! They have cleaning products spread throughout the gym for you to clean the equipment before and after you workout! The people who work here are very polite and helpful! They have a nice health bar where they can make you whatever you need to meet your needs. I thought about joining this gym for a long time and now that I have I'm so glad I did. It's also in a real nice location, near a nice park if you like to get your cardio in outside, then you can come in, finish your workout, and take a shower. The locker rooms are clean, roomy, and they have plenty of lockers. Awesome gym with upstairs and downstairs area. Place is huge with an indoor walking track, daycare, smoothie bar, sauna and much more. They don’t do a anual fee, no cancelation fee and it’s only $39.99 a month. Great place in a good location right in conover center city. 10 minutes from the main strip on 70 and easy access to the interstate and lots of walkable shops and restaurants in the vicinity.

This is the best, cleanest, biggest, and most complete gym I have attended for over 40 years. The facilities are topflight, the machines are state of the art, and the staff are friendly. Lots of room to workout and not feel crowded. I never have to wait for equipment/weights/machines. The exercise classes are varied and fun, with excellent instructors. Sharon is quite knowledgeable and skilled at coaching. She is a fun motivator in exercise class, and she designs her routines with thoughtfulness and planning. She is good at motivating and bringing out the best in all clients, no matter their age or ability. I highly recommend this facility.

The gym is a clean facility with plenty of machines. The staff is very kind. There are plenty of free classes to take that vary from yoga to body building to cardio. Both Sharon the owner and Maria are great instructors for their classes. They also have a private trainer for an additional fee. I was able to work with him briefly, and he was very good. I looove this gym! Courtney Dickerson in the child watch is so amazing with my twin toddlers. They ask me every day if we can go and see "Miss Coco". I feel that my girls are not only safe, but actually cared for!
They have so many different areas with all of the uptime you would need! The locker rooms are very clean asking with the entire facility. The staff are the most friendly and helpful I have come across in my 15 years of gym hopping. This is for sure my new home!!

I want to give a real review for those of you that are debating your gym choices in the area. I have joined probably a dozen gyms over the last 20 years because I have moved a lot. I was going to the Hickory and Conover YMCA for almost 3 years. The Hickory YMCA free weight area is like working out in an 1970’s high school football gym. Then, after I saw the new Conover YMCA renovation and the amount of teens that socialize all over the weight area, I knew I needed a change ASAP. I’m so glad I randomly stopped in to Perfect Workout for a tour one day this past summer. I’ve been a member for about 4 months now. I work out 3-5 times per work anywhere in the 4:30-7:30am range so I’m an early bird. At this time, it’s always about the same 20-30 dedicated people killing it before the crack of dawn. VERY MOTIVATING! I don’t know how busy it gets the rest of the day but you will never wait for a piece of equipment in the morning. Here are a few notes if you’re looking for a gym. #1. EQUIPMENT. The most important part. There is something here for every style, age, and experience level including Crossfit-style bumper plates and racks in the back “expansion room” (80% of my workout is done back there and I love it). A nice kettlebell selection, heavy bag, lots of benches, and 2 loaded dumbbell racks. Upstairs is mainly the cardio equipment, track, yoga studio, another cable machine and plenty of pre-plated weight machines. Tons of cable attachments. The main floor where you walk in has even more machines and 3 squat racks plus the fitness studio for classes. There is spin room in the back and even though I don’t think it’s a popular class, you can use this room at any time. NOTE: Even though there is obviously heavy weights here, not once I have got that “Gold’s Gym Meathead” vibe so don’t be intimated checking the place out. #2. COST & CONTRACT. No contract! Huge selling point for me. As of 8/8/23 I’m paying $39.99. That’s $500 a year which you can’t buy a decent treadmill for. Yes, you can pay half that at the new Planet Fitness coming but you will also be dealing with 3 high school kids standing around a machine talking (been there, done that). This price point is exactly what sorts out the people who enjoy fitness training versus those that go to a gym to socialize. I also appreciate that I can pause the membership (for a small fee) if I need to take an extended break for work-travel or if I need to recover from an injury. #3. AMENITIES. Alright, the icing on the cake was having a sauna. There is a catch here that I have overheard some guys complaining about. It is the reservation process but I actually love their policy. The sauna is booked in advance for a 30-minute session. You have to present flip flops and a bath towel and sign to confirm your time AND then sign out when you are done. I have been to so many saunas that are mostly just plain disgusting with guys shaving in there, playing their music out loud, dumping 2 gallons of water on a DRY sauna, or want to tell you their life story. With this reservation system, you get to collect your thoughts after your workout in peace and meditation BY YOURSELF. This system also creates accountability for keeping it clean. It’s probably the biggest reason I stay here. And now that I have a job change that requires me to go from the gym straight to work, I’m happy to say their showers are beautifully tiled and always clean. There is something about a privately owned gym versus a franchise where the sense of pride shows. Lastly, the morning front desk staff (Chris, Raquel and Jen) are all friendly, keep towels stocked, and are there if you have a question.

Tri and Landon were awesome! Tri gave us a tour and was really helpful explaining all the gym benefits! The gym itself is INCREDIBLE. I can’t get over the size and all of the amenities. You can tell the owner put a lot of care into it. It is so thoughtfully designed and beautifully decorated. My favorite features are the group classes, the juice and coffee bar, and the sauna! It’s exceptionally clean and well maintained. And lastly, the membership price is extremely affordable. Love this gym so much!

MEN, don't arrive here between 2 pm and 3:30 pm because the establishment will be cleaning the men's locker room at this time. Either change in your vehicle or sit on the toilet in the Men's bathroom to change clothes and no shower after a workout. Maybe they should clean after hours and not completely close the locker room for over an hour when some people only have that hour ? Ridiculous !!! Local YMCA doesn't have this problem. Hmmm.....

I recently joined this gym, and I've had a great experience so far. The facilities are top-notch, and the atmosphere is welcoming. What really stood out to me was the manager, Jenni. She's incredibly nice and always ready to help with any questions or concerns. Highly recommend this gym!

Great gym that accommodate to all different types of lifting/exercise. The gym has enough space, machines, and squat racks even during the busier hours to get in your lifting needs. All of the gym staff are friendly and professional, ensuring you have the best experience every time you are there. One thing they've personally helped me with is recover my lost/stolen gym equipment, and I truly appreciate the professionalism of how they handled the situation.

Shout out to one of the gym staff members, specifically Bryce B, who keeps the gym in top notch state, welcomes you as a friend, and even assists in spotting you during heavy lifting. He is easy to get along with and very approachable. Any concerns or questions you have, he will give you your full attention and help where he's able. 👍

I have heard a lot of amazing things about Perfect Workout Gym. When you walk in the Gym, front desk personnel are professional and welcoming. I especially enjoyed speaking to Raquel and she explained how the insurance works at the gym. The place is amazing, you will not be disappointed.

Perfect Workout is clean, and I love the staffs. The owner, Sharon, is super sweet and nice. Everyone that works there are super friendly and welcoming.

I visited the Perfect Workout to take a Pilates class with my sister-in-law. I got a one day pass. The Pilates class with Sharon was intense but enjoyable. I felt invigorated. Afterwards, I worked out the machines for further muscle trainer. I was pleased by the indoor walking track, sauna, juice bar and variety of exercise equipment.

Decent hours, clean equipment and fantastic staff.
You should consider yourself as one of the lucky if you run into Bryce B, while he is working this young man always makes a effort to greet members, and even assist during sets with encouraging words like, YA!, you got this!, Light Weight Baby! and so much more.
Bryce B. is so helpful and dedicated to providing excellent customer service he even saved my pet alligator from a tree in a lightning storm, while curing 80lbs dumbbells, AND making my smoothie!
Absolutely no chance this young man has soft hands!

All jokes aside this is fantastic gym with helpful staff, you are bound to love this gym.

The employees are very nice and friendly but specifically the night workers are the best! It’s nice to always be greeted smiling and as i’m leaving. Bryce B is my favorite!!! He goes out of his way when I have questions using certain machines. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk especially when i ask about trying out other workouts targeting certain muscle groups! Besides the awesome employees, this gym is always clean.. which i appreciate a lot. This gym is like a second home to me; I know it is for many members here as well. I always feel welcome and definitely recommend the perfect workout when anyone asks me if I know any good gyms local! :’)

Perfect workout is the best gym in town! I been a family member for over 3 years.
Jennifer Brenes who is the Gym Supervisor also who speaks bilingual helps in any area. Any question I have she is always happy to help. I always come in and she always there to greet you with a smile and through some jokes in between.

My daughters and I love to workout here. It’s a very spacious and clean facility. The staff is always very friendly and attentive to the gym. I usually see Debbie and Jen in the mornings when I go and they are always so kind and welcoming! The gym is very clean and easy to navigate. The child care offered is great, specifically in the morning. Such a relief to know my little one is so well taken care of by Ms. Courtney. She is very kind, knowledgeable, and always welcoming.

This is my favorite gym. It’s very clean, and Debbie and Courtney are my favorite people on the planet to watch my son while I work out. Shout out to the amazing Ms Courtney in the child watch room. My daughter absolutely LOVES her. Isabelle always has the best time with Ms Courtney while I get my workout in. She loves to color, do puzzles and play in the kitchen with Ms Courtney.
