Was in town on vacation and did an hour lesson with Rick, in particular because of his experience and he did not disappoint. As a generally experienced player, I take many lessons with a variety of trainers and Rick is fantastic. In a very short time he elevated my forehand and backhand, and my serve. He has a unique and warm approach and his years of experience are clearly evident. He KNOWS how to get you to adopt his recommendations. Definitely on my list to return whenever Iβm in town. And the indoor facility was greatβ¦ good lighting, temperature, organizedβ¦

Great gym. All the machines you would need for a full workout. It can get crowded during busy times but people are generally considerate and friendly.

I'm sure this is a great spot for tennis and racquet ball, but if you're just down here for a week and need a place to use a gym, it is very small and if there is more than 2-3 other people in the weight room it can get very cramped. For $20/day or $70/week (just for the weight/ cardio room), it is very overpriced for what they offer.

We walked the nature trail behind the racquetball center. It was a nice serene walk, but we found ticks on us afterwards, so be wary and bring a lint roller to get the ticks off (and shower/wash clothes afterwards). I know the ticks can't be controlled, but I knocked a star off because I simply wouldn't go back, as I wouldn't expect to have ticks on me given the trail conditions (the grass was only able height in some areas).

Didn't want to drive back to KD from Corolla... Was bracing for a 45 minute drive each way. Ryan "found a closer gym on Google MAPs." We stopped in and talked to the staff. They could not have been nicer. Told us it would be $90 for the 2 of us to get a one week pass. We took full advantage of it and stopped in every day. The free weight area is a little tight and can get busy. I really recommend getting up early and getting in there. Dumbbells up to 85LBS covered everything I needed for our current program. Looking to deadlift or heavy bench... You will be out of luck. Multiple machines around for other exercises. Didn't play tennis, but the dome is well lit and clean. A cardio area is also available off the gym area. Would definitely recommend if you are out this way, and trying to "stay on program".

Really nice for tennis! The gym has enough equipment to get your workout done and excellent hours too. There isnβt anything real fancy, hasnβt changed much in 20 years, but you donβt need anything else and itβs an asset to have in Pine Island. Very friendly staff.

Ok first off it's not a professional gym. It's in a vacation area. Yes they have locals but this is not a big city so that being said....
This fitness center is actually pretty legit. They have older Cybex Equipment which has been maintained pretty well. The gyms I have seen with this equipment it's not typically in a condition like this so first off props.
But they have enough equipment to hit all the major muscle groups. The cardio equipment is also very nice and plentiful.
The price might seem a little high but it's a facility in a high cost area.. consider the situation. Honestly if you are looking for a gym while you are away like I do. It's well worth it. Hours also for a vacation area are decent.

Dropped in for the intermediate/advanced clinic while on vacation. Kate was a great facilitator, and even jumped in to make the numbers right when necessary. Indoor courts are in great shape. Will definitely return next time we're in the area.

Jessie is so friendly and incredible! She called me back as soon as there was a cancellation for a court and was so kind in letting me demo a racquet. The facilities are nice and everyone is friendly. Would come back and recommend

I would definitely recommend this gym when vacationing in Corolla or Duck. It has all the gym and cardio equipment youβll need. $60 for week and they offered 15% military discount. Great hours and friendly staff. Well worth it! Great way to work off the Duck Donuts! π

Advanced adult clinics are so much fun and the best value in the Outer Banks. Kate and Pierce are awesome (Rick too when he comes out of retirement to play). If you are a tennis player you won't find a better time while at the beach.

While nice enough for the week, just be aware that if a tennis player is on the court you cannot use the workout equipment they have in same area, despite the netting. So, you are paying to use equipment you cannot use during certain time frames...

This is a wild and exceptional nature preserve. It is wild, do not walk the trail alone or without a cell phone... There is a wide variety of insects, birds, snakes and who knows what else is back there. The Live Oaks and Pines are both mysterious and inviting, at the same time. The land is alive, it is powerful and place of wonder. Especially, from the piers that look out over the Sound. β€

Rick provides great coaching for me during the summer so I could keep up my game. Really helped me identify some problems and work on my overall skill. Rick raised my expectations for a quality coach. Whether you do clinics or lessons, I highly recommend Pine Island.

Probably one of the best spots for a gym on the Outer Banks. You're in the middle of an Audubon sanctuary.

nice selection of free weights, Universal and other standard equipment. Clean facility showers bathrooms as well as nice tennis courts as well. Plenty of cardio and flexibility equipment as well. Several running machines and steppers. Exercise bikes round out the equipment. Towels, televisions, and a pleasant staff make for a great visit.

Was looking for a gym on vacation and stumbled upon this place and super happy about it! We paid for week passes - 4 people for $125 - which is awesome. The gym is tiny, but really effective, as it has everything you need to get a great workout in.
