My wife and I have been joining the workout classes for 3 weeks now with Adam as the trainer. The classes are great for all levels of fitness. Adam provides a great balance of instruction, motivation and being personable. The facility is very clean and organized, the machines are nice with a good variety. The entire staff is very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this facility.

I have a few issues with this location: it always smells like cat feces and litter, the managers are condescending and weird (pleasant one moment, rude and shady the next), staff (save for one of 2 people) are like immature zombies, and one of them always smells foul when he's on shift. The trainer is amazing and always has great energy. The facility itself is in desperate need of a facelift. It seems the company drags their feet on these issues judging by how other locations seem to fair the same. A lot of folks there are up there in age and we can't do as much as we'd like, but that doesn't mean we don't deserve a clean, pleasant place to workout with functioning machines. I hope improvements will be made soon because there aren't many affordable options in this area.

Some people are very busy, and we’re lucky to get time to work out.

Imagine peacefully doing your physical therapy stretches on a mat with socks, not wearing shoes only to be harassed by the guy that works there constantly coming over to make sure that you’re Following the rules.. His rules.. Because I have spoken to other people that work there and I let them know my situation and they said as long as I have socks on, I am OK to do my stretches. That I do not need to have my shoes on because I can’t have my shoes on for these stretches. This guy wanted to kick me out because I’m not following his personal rules. I’ve been coming there for months doing the same thing and this guy wants to act like he’s the police. He told me either put my shoes on or get out. So I grabbed my things and met him at the front desk. I told him to cancel my membership. I am fuming. Maybe I’ll go back later in the day to speak to somebody else. I should still be able to go to this gym. I want that man fired. And if he can’t be fired, then at least tell him that he shouldn’t bother me. I am following the rules. I clean up my area. But if they want to choose to side with him, fine, I can save $30 a month.

My favorite thing to do when I travel is visit new gyms. I've been to hundreds across the country. I have never felt so judged as I did in this gym.

Sometimes at the end of the set I make funny noises. They literally had signs on the wall that said if I did that, they would make fun of me. There were signs on the wall that said if I wore certain gym clothes, they would make fun of me. There were signs on the wall that said, if my water bottle was a certain size, they would make fun of me.

I have had my bad stolen out of a locked lockers and my vehicle broken into in the past at gyms. So I carried a very small gym bag around with me while working to keep my valuables secure. I was told to either put it in the locker or my car or leave. I asked if it was bothering people, as I made sure I kept next to the machine I was using and not in areas that people were walking. Miles said no but told me it was policy, so I left. I would understand if I was taking up space in a crowded gym. But I wasn’t. This location is ridiculous. Other locations I frequent aren’t as petty.

Good experience, pretty clean. I like the spray bottles with paper towels everywhere they do a good job keeping those stocked and full.
A bunch of the treadmills were down and 2 stairmasters but whatever. Also one of the hip abduction machines were down, which btw could be a little better—I wish it allowed a greater range of motion.. I felt like I wasn’t getting the full benefit from it.

This planet fitness is great for me. Last year, I almost decided to switch to crunch, but I'm glad I didn't because planet fitness isn't as crowded as it used to be, and more machines are available now, unlike crunch, from what I hear they are always packed which is good for them but for me I prefer a chill gym experience. Only negative for me it that they don't have ab machines anymore.

This planet Fitness is a flean, large, and well equipped gym. There is modern equipment to workout for arms, legs, hips, abdomen, back, chest, cardio. If you want to get into shape, maintain or improve physical stamina, this is the place for you! After your workout, there are massage chairs and showers. No matter what your current physical level is, there is something here for every adult (Note that this is not a place for children.) It also has the advantage of being open most of the time: 5am Monday thru 10pm on Friday, then 7am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, there are always friendly staff members present.

Planet fitness takes advantage of their memberships. I cancelled the membership before i got charged for the month and they still proceeded to try and take the money out. First two times didnt go through. Third time a couple weeks later i see a charge for $40! Its been in “pending cancel” for an entire month! I dont recommend. They also make you come in person to cancel instead of offering an easy way to cancel over the phone or online. They try to justify it by saying “oh well we charged you but you can still come to the gym for the remainder of the month” like im not cancelling bc i dont wanna go to that gym anymore. I havent been to that gym in over a year and because of my mental disability would always forget that i have to go in person to cancel. Horrible experience.

Very rude ppl. The assistant manger is very rude and hostile. She doesn't know how to have customers service. When asked a question or deal with a task, her voice has aggression. Yesterday, I re-joined Planet Fitness. I am a previous member but decided to try another gym with more frills, but after a year of realizing I was not going to regularly drive to it since it’s too far from home, I went back to Planet Fitness. When I walked through the door, I stood at the counter where the guy stood texting on his phone until my husband, who is a member, had to get his attention after we had been waiting a couple of minutes. I told him I wanted to rejoin since the ‘join for 1 dollar’ was ending and I didn’t want to miss it. He went ahead and helped me although it seemed like I was a disturbance in his day, and he would have rather not been there. There was another young guy who ended up helping and he was not much better. He didn’t even offer me the fob for my key chain-my husband also had to speak up and ask for that. Although it wasn’t the worst customer service I have encountered over the past month, it definitely wasn’t the best. I know it’s a good value because of the low price, but if there was a more convenient gym that was even slightly higher, and this is the kind of service that I received on a regular basis, I would opt for the slightly higher one. Hopefully moving forward will provide some better experiences. I guess we’ll see.

Following up on my last review below. I forwarded over my previous concern to the noted email. I have yet to receive a response. I noticed immediately after my response I was charged a $20.00 fee from Planet Fitness. Please explain. I just sent the following email to you directly. The manager Miles at this location is horrible. He exhibits no self control and poor leadership skills. This manager is unreachable and not approachable. The regional manager hides and refuses to follow up with members who have valid concerns. I was advised by the manager that my membership was canceled last month. There should be zero charges coming from Planet Fitness. What a sad experience. I’d rather pay way more to join a gym where I am respected and valued. This location is terrible.

I have had a terrible experience dealing with the manager Miles from this club. The regional manager was supposed to contact me after I contacted corporate two weeks ago and has yet to do so. I originally had a membership here, but found another location closer to my home. I had concerns about discrimination and asked for the managers information along with corporate. I was given the wrong contact info for corporate. In the interim my membership has been canceled for supposedly using file language which is a fabricated lie once I advised that I was reporting the unprofessional conduct to corporate. However I was allowed to workout continuously and the same day Miles abruptly canceled my membership a payment was taken on site. If I caused an issue why was I allowed to continuously workout and why was I forced to pay for a second membership for my minor child??? Lastly why wasn’t I asked to leave??? I need answers. Miles the manager here told me that he doesn’t believe discrimination exists and hung up in my face. Unbelievable! I am still pending a follow up from corporate and the regional manager whom this far has refused to reach out as well. Another mysterious action was cancelling my membership but refusing to cancel my minor’s membership per. my request. I am saddened by the passive aggressive response from the manager. Dismissing a members valid concern is unacceptable across the board and violates Planet Fitness core values and policies.

2/5/24-why is there a specific area labeled the 30 minute workout if the rules are not enforced? I follow the rules and I wipe down every machine when I am finished. Today there was a lady sweating on the machines and not wiping them down. Then she sat on one machine for over 10 minutes talking on the phone. I asked if she understood what the 30 minute workout is. Her response was “I’m not getting up”. So, instead of arguing with her I went to grab someone that works there to explain the process. The employees are nice until you ask them to do their job. I literally had to pursuade the employee to speak with her. Once the lady kept making snarky comments to me…the person who was following the rules…I got loud and the conversation escalated. At some point I had TWO PLANET FITNESS MALE EMPLOYEES VERY AGGRESSIVELY IN MY FACE. As employees they should be trained to deescalate the situation. There should never be two men up on a woman like that. ADAM WAS THE MOST AGGRESSIVE. INITIALLY THE FIRST MALE EMPLOYEE WAS HANDLING THINGS CALMLY. BUT, HE ALSO BECAME AGGRESSIVE ONCE ADAM WALKED OVER TO ME WITH THE INTIMIDATING STANCE IN FRONT OF ME. Yes, words did become bad and loud between me and the lady. But, they were words and I never walked up on her. No woman should ever be made to feel unsafe by two male employees being intimidating. Better conflict training is needed. ADAM CONTINUED TO DISCUSS ME WITH HIS TRAINEE ONCE THE ISSUE WAS OVER. I HAD HEADPHONES ON, BUT I HAD TURNED THE MUSIC OFF. AS AN EMPLOYEE HE SHOULD NOT BE DISCUSSING ME TO ANOTHER MEMBER. AS AN EMPLOYEE HE NEVERS WIPES DOWN OR HAS HIS TRAINEE WIPE DOWN THE MACHINES WHEN FINISHED. WHY DO I FOLLOW THE RULES BUT THE EMPLOYEE DOES NOT? I complained about this weeks ago. I am having to wipe the machines when he is done and after I finish. I get that very few people use the 30 minute work out area for what it is designed for. But, respect those of us that do. It is us getting on the machine for 1 minute. I WOULD LIKE SPEAK TO SOMEONE THAT IS HIGHER UP THAN THE LOCATION. This is not the first time that I have had an issue. And management NEVER RESPONDS.

The showers were nasty. One is particularly clogged that the water was running into the hallway. The men’s locker room, half the lockers are broken that you can’t lock your personal belongings. This incident occurred on 12/1/2023 at 5 pm. As I walked into Whitehall Planet Fitness, there were two staff members (one male and one female) behind the desk who were engaged in a conversation but still looked at me without saying welcome as I scanned my membership. There was a third staff member also behind the desk who was engaged in a conversation with a customer. As I walked further in, the third staff member asked me to check in and I informed him that I did. He said that he did not see me. I then interrupted the other two staff members to ask them if they saw me check in. The male staff said "did you check in?" I told him "yes I did," where he proceeds to rudely say "then why are you bothering us?" The female staff member burst into laughter and the one who asked me initially said nothing. Nothing to de-escalate the situation or to come to my aid. I was beyond shocked and did not feel like even starting my workout, but still decided to do a short one. Leaving the gym, the same rude staff member was too busy engaged on his phone at the desk, the female staff member was leaning against the desk with her back to the door. They did not say anything to the customers who were leaving including myself. In addition to this, there were cleaning bottles which were empty and the bathroom was not clean. I will no longer be attending planet fitness and will have to cancel my membership.

Planet fitness is an Amazing Gym the staff always Make you feel

I enjoy this location overall when it's not too packed. Kinda small tho and need more spaces to do free weights. Can get congested
