i have been using the tanning beds but I don't think they are working right. My first session was 5 minutes with no results, same with my 7 minutes, my 9 minutes. The max time is 12 minutes. I am a pasty white color and i burn easy. I mentioned my issue and the next time I went the tanning bed was fixed.
The equipment is good and there is a lot to do for cardio and weight training

I am extremely disappointed with the treatment I received at Planet Fitness on Watt ave/ Freedom Park Drive, and I feel obligated to make management and corporate aware of it. I have been a paying member for over a year, even through financial hardship, and I have always conducted myself respectfully inside the gym.

Yesterday, the manager informed me that although my payment was two days late, I had a six-day grace period to bring the account current. This morning, I came in simply needing to take a quick shower before a scheduled job interview. Despite the manager’s clear instructions, Don at the front desk refused to honor that grace period and would not allow me access.

I explained the situation to him, including the fact that I had an interview approaching and was actively trying to get back on my feet. Unfortunately, Don showed no willingness to listen, no flexibility, and no professionalism. His tone and refusal were completely unnecessary and inconsistent with the “Judgment Free Zone” Planet Fitness promotes.

Because of his actions, I was forced to leave, stuck in traffic trying to find somewhere else to take a shower, with only an hour before my interview — a situation that could have been avoided if he had followed the guidance the manager had already given me.

I strongly believe this incident warrants review by upper management or corporate. Members should not receive conflicting information, nor should they be treated dismissively by staff who choose to override their own manager’s instructions. I hope this matter is addressed so no other member has to experience what I did.

I’ve been to many planet fitness locations and have never had an issue. I’ve been interrupted during my workout so many times for nonsense. I was jumping rope in the functional training area, where no one was around. An employee came up to me mid jump to tell me jumping rope wasn’t allowed. When I asked why, he just said because of safety we don’t want anyone getting hit by the rope. I looked around jokingly to see if there was anyone else close by - which there wasn’t. I totally understand that the gym has rules, but I think the judgement to interrupt my workout when no one is in immediate danger was rude and really threw the rest of my workout. Additionally, today I was working out in the same area and a rude lady came over to me and told me that there was a class starting at 10am. Mind you the sign that was posted indicated the class started at 10:30am. Working out is already hard enough as it is I don’t need to have someone come and throw off my entire rhythm mid workout. If it wasn’t for the close proximity to my house, I would certainly leave this gym.

I truly enjoy my PF location. I’ve never seen it filthy, all of the machines are NOT broken, and I’ve only been met with an empty paper towel machine once. The employees are helpful (especially the late night worker who wears a hat) and polite.

I really enjoy visiting this location. It's my home club and Amazi Holmes out of ALL the facilities I've visited around the country exemplifies what type of an employee a company should have. Just called this location and asked if they had parking for Semi trucks. She said yes, and when I brought the boot story up about that location she was completely unaware of it. The boot incident was just posted a month ago. PF better watch their P's and Qs. PF could get sued for that !!! The boot is no joke. My truck got booted at the Orlando FLA location and it cost me $500.00 to get it removed. You've been warned

I believe most of gyms are similar, meaning they offer products and equipment to help you exercise and better your physical life, what makes a difference, are the people working at these facilities, sometimes a greeting with a smile is only fair enough, but at this location all employees are working as a team to better the gym and the experience, I believe this success can only be achieved when your leader practice his duties by example, I am talking about "Brandon the manager" but I think I better to say "Brandon the leader". I lead teams all my life in the corporate world and I understand how challenging can be for a leader to achieve this goal. Three stars because the PF rep Ryan helped me a lot. Not 5 stars because Planet a fitness needs to up its game. You can’t offer Black Card membership and then when Black Card holders working all over the country come to use their Black Card membership they get their rigs booted while working out. If the gym acquired spaces where semi trucks could park more connected to their membership itself they would make more money than they make right now l promise. More and more drivers are turning to exercise as it’s actually needed in order to do their job efficiently. I got booted at this location, paid them for he money and was told l can stay, got booted a second time same night and the rate increased 15 times. I use this gym all over the country and hardly ever have issues parking nearby. But many places still have hostile signs against parking, so PF needs to reimagine its leasing practices to cater to clients who can pay a special monthly rate. There are 3 million long haul drivers in USA… imagine capturing 5% of that market as perhaps Black Card National membership. Assuming drivers are willing to pay $45 per month for that membership, as am l:- that’s 150,000 new members paying $6.7M. And that’s just parking, they make make so much more from drivers l swear. Come on PF. Call me if you need help, l have a marketing background..

We traveled A LOT and have used many planet fitness’, some good some not so good. This PF was hands down one of the BEST we’ve been to! From the environment/setup (which is very clean) to the staff (all very helpful/knowledgeable), it was an overall fantastic experience from a customers pov. I've lost over 200 pounds in the past 4 years while working out at Planet Fitness, and at this specific location for 1.5. Unfortunately, a recent experience left me feeling humiliated and frustrated, leading me to permanently cancel my membership in search of a better gym.

I was stopped by a new employee who informed me that the pants I was wearing were not allowed. When I asked why, he pointed to a sign prohibiting "jeans." I explained that I was wearing chinos—made of cotton, not denim, with no large metal buttons. He dismissed my explanation, claiming chinos were "in the same ballpark." When I asked why jeans were banned, he admitted he didn’t know and told me to call corporate. I attempted to do so, but they were closed.

After checking the official policy online, I found that jeans are prohibited due to their rough denim fabric and metal components, which can damage equipment. I tried to show this to the employee, but he refused to read it, called me "entitled," and remained dismissive. When I requested a manager, she was equally unprofessional, refusing to acknowledge the policy and instead telling me to call corporate. The situation escalated when another employee became physically intimidating and aggressively told me to find another gym.

I left feeling embarrassed and disrespected—especially considering that, in this case, I was following the rules.

Beyond this incident, my overall experience at this Planet Fitness has been disappointing. Towels are rarely stocked, cleaning bottles are often missing, broken, or empty, and staff allow members to walk around with them from machine to machine. The gym frequently reeks of marijuana, and despite the supposed enforcement of the "Lunk Alarm," people drop weights and grunt loudly without consequence.

This was the final straw, and I’ve now canceled my membership for good.

Over crowded, gym etiquette not enforced, people are allowed to use four sets of dumbbells in their own little area, also, people are allowed to do random cardio dumbbells and using machines all at the same time and tie up whole corners of the building. People talk on their cell phones during their workout, during massage chairs, and people think the whole gym is theirs to do lunges with 20 lb dumbbells across the whole place. It's very difficult to get a workout in at any time of day during the week. I am aggressively looking for an alternative to this place.

Staff here are very friendly and intuitive with how to answer questions and provide support for a person based on age, skill and strength. Plus, they make the experience pleasant and safe with good conversation and their rational calm demeanor. And, most with a memory to recognize and welcome the return of familiar faces & even some names or professional titles to give members a since of belonging and familiarity tightening the bond for good personal experience. I personally must say I enjoy catching up with one particular gent with the gray beard in his prime as I am to be one I’ve seen show the signs of a true professional in my site first hand to handle an issues that may have become less than desirable to stir up a nasty situation if not diffused and redirected to be resolved calmly and rationally even though he was very obviously being treated bad by a guy who stumbled in with some dillusional nonsense trying to sneak in without a membership then threaten him for no apparent reason. All while we were having a conversation with no idea (well…under the influence of something) why the guy would accuse both of us as old dudes keeping him down when he could beat us both to get around. Then, he left. And, he returned and tossed a PAYDAY candy bar behind the desk and mumbled threatening words that could have provoked physical trouble as he was instigating the situation but all remained calm as police were called at first opportunity to make the call without being noticeably obvious to the man. The guy was removed quickly with fast police response getting 3 nice officers to escort the guy off the grounds and no words were used to return the man’s name calling and inappropriate behavior to keep it from being an escalated dangerous situation. It was an unfortunate situation but one worth mentioning to say the demeanor of the employees makes a world of difference and response time of law enforcement being rapid as a Jack rabbit to find exactly how to see a safe environment made in a day when this could have been handled less than perfect and seen a different outcome. It’s that level of safety I felt that gave me comfort to feel secure and share with anyone concerned about the 24 hour open door hours to say they are manned and protected where as competitors are not as they provide access keys and no staff with greater chance of late night danger igniting with no safety protocols to protect those who are working out at hours this incident occurred which I believe was beyween 2:30AM and 4AM to see the safest way to prevent any possible violence and harm is to have a level headed employee and fast responding CMPD on the scene to ensure all will be fine. Rather than confronting or taking offense to one’s behavior, bad actions and name calling, I witnessed a true solid stand to remain calm and take action in more productive ways to improve the environment for all without any kind of conflict or violence in the time it could have easily been escalated to such a degree. Kudos to PF for having great folks like this to do more than just check in members but clean the locker and restroom areas, keep trouble at bay, answer questions about equipment or black card member use of the machines, booths, beds and loungers that make the upgrade even more of a worthwhile investment to be a valuable benefit that all should consider.

Not a great place to workout. Women’s restroom toilet is broke for about 6 months or more now. Water from showers stagnate on the floor. The shower faucets (heads) are not functional either. While clean, phone calls are taken in the workout area and many machines are broken. I go here since the machines I need are fine but do be aware of that if you’re only able to commit to one gym location

My name is Jashun Gaddy and I just wanted to share my recent experience attending this location. I have been going to this site since its very beginning.
It was perfect situation because I live up the street and being disabled, it was perfect since the rehab fitness program was very structured and limited.
And even though it was new, it needed some improvements, mainly the employees. Like the previous General manager Rondey, and the personal trainer who was so disconnected with the members, no one ever knew what her title was, including me. I never ever saw her train anyone, and didn't even know they had trainers available until after she left and her replacement took over.
Which I started to take advantage of at that period.
The turning point where I noticed a new type of positive energy is when Brandon and Liz became the General and Assistant managers.
They bring a sense of community at this location. They have really looked out for me since they were at freedom Dr.
The drivers in the parking lot are ruthless so I usually wait until I see no cars before crossing the street.
On this particular day when leaving the building the flow of traffic was heavy and it seemed like it was never ending and the GM Brandon actually saw me and came outside just to help me walk across the street!!
Another great addition is the new trainer Demi!!
I have never seen a trainer this booked up and hard working ever at this location. He's very knowledgeable and make work out adaptions for each individual he works with. He has a True investment in the uplifting and positive energy he displays his whole time working. I definitely felt the benefit after working with him for about 5 months now!
In closing, I want to personally tell the whole freedom Dr Crew how appreciative I am of their support.

I travel the country and frequent PF in every state and I must say the staff was one of the best but the gym is WAY to crowded for the small amount of equipment. It is also probably the oldest one I've been to. Very upset that they NOT have a stand up tanning booth. They only have lay down ones which omfg those are soooo nasty I would never ever lay in one of those foul things lol
You gotta do better for this community PF....

I love coming to this gym now. The staff makes it feel like a family and Demi, the trainer, is the best I've seen at any PF.
