A lot of things to love about the gym as a black card member I like that the gyms are clean, relatively ease of accessibility to all machines and unbelievable staff all at a very affordable price. Not to mention since I travel for work a lot I can use a planet fitness anywhere in the United States for about $20 a month to me. It’s the best value around for fitness centers.

With a company that prides themselves on their cleanliness, sometimes theirs ones that fall in the grey zone of the mission. This location is that, locker room straight smells like dudes were marking all other the room! Tried doing some ab workouts that is by the locker room entrance and the fumes made me uncomfortable. I hope management sees this to improve on this because I visited this location now twice and thought it was a one off.

Please use a different mop for bathrooms then the one for the gym floor. I was disturbed to see the same mop being used for the bathroom as the gym floor that's how diseases are spread. Also someone needs to talk to corporate about having the entrance to the club accessible the road has been closed for the past 6 months and it makes it so dangerous to try to make a u turn where it is technically not legal to make one.

I really like this gym! It’s probably one of my favorite Planet Fitness locations that I’ve been to. The layout is super convenient and makes it easy to move between machines and different workout areas without feeling cramped. Everything is clean, well-organized, and the overall vibe is welcoming. I will give this establishment a 1 star for now until the potholes on the premises are addressed, more specifically at the front of the building. I hate it for someone to accidentally twist an ankle walking to and from the gym, especially at nights. Lastly, the issue of falling in these potholes causing unnecessary wear and tear on vehicles is avoidable. Please fix these issues. Thanks.

This gym has slightly improved but lacks cleanliness. The yoga mats are torn up. Literally like a cat had a day with it. The toilets are old and peeling. Not clean. My biggest issue is probably management. I reached out about a lack of weights and a women using 3 sets of free weights at time along with Bench machine. I reached out to Daniel the manager 3, weeks ago asking to either address this or invest 200-300 dollars for more weights. He never responded. If you attend this gym you know the weights and machines beside cardio are limited.

My three day review at central location: (Day, one as a guest 1/19/25) The Assistant Manager Jared was amazing he seemed to understand what customer service means. He showed me around and provided a full gym experience which made me comfortable to get the black card membership! So he definitely needs a promotion. I came next day (1/19/25) as new member and the Assistant Manager was there with the same positive energy. He was treating everyone with respect. Now the here is why my review is three stars instead of 5; so I came in on (1/21/25) The store manager was there in which I didn’t know however I thought this company says there is a no judgment zone, mind you this is technically my second day as member. I open up the app in my phone, scanned and proceeded to start my workout process. In the store manager stopped me if with a little bit of attitude and asked me to re-verify myself. In which I questioned him as to why is he even going that far he says I had no picture yet, and again this is only my second day. So I ask him what is your reasoning especially I came in once with my own phone use my own app and was able to provide information to him about my account and he goes to say what if you stole that phone and was using it to steal a membership!!!!! Not only did the store manager made me feel highly uncomfortable, but to be accused of stealing my own phone to use for a gym membership is absurd. All because I didn’t have a picture on file yet!!!!! Again this is day two as a member. So for this to be a store manager who placed negative judgment and falsely accuse someone a Theft on my own personal phone and membership, even verifying all of my credentials. The store manager definitely need to take notes from the assistant manager on customer service and retention because his judgment energy in a “non-judgment” gym does not match. Indefinitely brought the experience down and do not look forward to ever seeing the store manager again.

The staff is great; machines are quality, and the place is clean. They only have 3 smith machines which aren't near enough. Always waiting for one. The layout is ludicrous. They have the cardio and weights split between floors when they could have easily put one on the first floor and the other on the second. Since they're split, you have to continuously go up and down the floors to complete your workout, when it easily doesn't have to be this way.

It’s really clean but it’s an inner city Charlotte crowd, meaning that courtesy is out the door. They sit and text on the machines with no regard for anyone else wanting to use it. I went the gym In central ave Charlotte NC after I finish my workout I get my shower inside then suddenly the light go off and when I came out I didn't see anyone in the gym they close on me inside and Alot of noise alarm then I call police to came open the door for me after that I found some one work his name is Mike old white guy I tell him he supposed to let your customer know when you have emergency to close he said we close at 7 pm you should to know the roles I tell him I don't know but that's part of your job before you close you have even to say we close now at least so I wait when the police came to me inside to report him because he make me scared and he didn't let his customer know about it and he have a bad attitude with his customers the funny thing the police said you free to go he didn't work at Walmart to give you attention

Anyway he tell me he gonna cancel my membership because I was need to report him 😏

THIS LOCATION DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATRONS PROPERTY!!!!!

Forget about this location being cooperative at all if your car gets broken into or stolen. They avoid liability by placing the blame on their property manager yet there have been 0 efforts from either party to prevent crime in the parking lot. God forbid they have to spend any of their precious money on security measures. The camera footage they have to even try to see what happened is completely blurry and you cannot make out anything, while the cameras outside don’t even work. I know the camera footage is garbage because the detective who was working on my case when my car got stolen, was unable to see the suspects and only saw my car pulling out of the parking lot. I had parked right in front of the entrance too, so don’t think parking there will help.

The efforts of this location to keep patrons and their property safe are absolutely pathetic. They have neglected their duty of care to their patrons and their property. They are a perfect example for a case of negligence as they meet all of the elements.

The staff are always super friendly. It’s a decent sized gym but even when it’s busy it doesn’t feel overly crowded. The equipment is pretty standard and was recently updated in the last year. My only complaints are a lot of the members don’t understand gym etiquette like the incline benches are for working out and not a place to hold your phone, water bottle, etc. And for some reason the amount of men that come to this location like they bathed in cologne makes me feel like I’m dying a slow death with my allergies.

The parking lot is a bit like Tetris, but once you're inside it's a fantastic gym. The 2 stories make it feel big and airy, with plenty of cardio machines. Every time I go in the employees are friendly. This is my go-to PF in the area!

Edit to add: one less star as a heads up, because while the locker room is nice, but the toilet area is always pretty gross. I have seen employees regularly cleaning, so I'm not sure it's actually the fault of the facility. Perhaps other gym members need to step up their restroom etiquette?

I love planet fitness as a whole and I’ve been coming for years. This location though on Central Avenue in Charlotte has to have the worst men’s bathroom out of all locations I've been to and it’s been like this for a few years now. If this location wasn’t so close my job I would never visit but back to the disgusting men’s room. It's so bad, that sometimes it's difficult to get close enough to the urinal with stepping in urine. However, I'm not picking on this location.
