Update, they fixed the shower and got some.equipment in, now they just need to learn how to lay out a gym, keep arm equipment near arm equipment, but it is an improvement that is why i bumped his them to 4 star. location has a little more equipment than some. Great fitness facility where they consistently stay on top of their cleaning surfactants and cloths ensuring we are all keeping it clean for our 'neighbors'. Love that Black Card room spa experience too! One of the massage chairs has been 'out of order' however for some time now. Hoping it can be replaced or fixed soon. I'd pick this gym over others just for this spa experience!

As many others have stated, the restroom/locker room is poorly maintained. Shower broken for weeks. Water temps are either scalding or freezing. Changing rooms gross. I can always tell when the jerk with the long black hair has been there because the mountain of fur remains on the floor for hours. People lay claim to the two stalls while they are showering so you can't use them. The staff does nothing when you bring it to their attention. The operating hours are ridiculous. Forget about working out on the weekends if you have a job where you have to work Friday Saturday or Sunday. Find another gym. Only giving above a one because some of the staff is friendly and they play good music

Good equipment. Reasonably clean. Bathrooms are sometimes sketchy. Really bad for working people that PAY for a membership. From June through August teens get in free! Not limited hours for free use, all day and night! Around 4 or 5 through 8 it's absolutely packed. Texting, big groups hanging on machines for an hour, anything goes! If you're serious about your workouts and can't hangout for hours, find another gym, not Planet Hangout.

Location was disgusting. There was giant clumps of dust hanging from the ceiling. Nobody wipe down any of the machines after they were done so there was sweat left on them. The water filter was on red. The staff was quite rude will not be coming here again.

I’ve been to planet Fitness all over the country. Close to 100 different locations at this point. I’ve never seen a PF even close to being this packed. There’s a wait for literal every piece of equipment in there. I thought I accidentally walked into the a Club on a Friday night at first. The music was bump’n, and it was shoulder to shoulder in there. A lot of good looking people in there I might add. Enjoy!

Good and clean gym! The women's bathrooms are not very clean in the evenings around 7 or 8 pm; sometimes they smell bad.
The gym is even better in the mornings, fun music like a real gym!
Sometimes they (it depends who is at the front desk) don't play upbeat and fun music in the evenings, around 8pm. It seems the music on Mondays most of the time is slow.

Many staff are professional and polite, especially the two late at night, a pleasant lady (probably 45 or 50 year old) and a young blond man. The assistant manager is great and another guy (tall) who is also at the front desk, is very polite. Usually he wears a purple sweater, not a manager.
It will get a lot busier during Summer with High School kids (from 14 to 19) working out (lifting weights too) there for free. Hopefully we, the regular ones, will still have space to be able to use the machines. It is the crowded area.

I’m giving them a 4 star simply because they close at 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays. This is super early. I’m not driving 30 minutes away to go to a gym in a different location. People get off work at different times and there isn’t a point to pay for a membership if they aren’t open when I get off. Everything is great except for this. I mean at least close at like 10pm. Also need new kickback straps for your ankles on the cable machine. One of the gym machines doesn’t work.

Changing my review, gets more and more crowded to an unbearable degree, and this “crowd meter” is either broken or a flat out lie. ALWAYS says a 1-2 out of a supposed 10 and equally hard to get onto any machines. Unless you like ellipticals then youre in luck as they take up tons of valuable space and no one uses them.

In a moment of poor judgment, I enrolled in a gym that initially charged a one-time fee of $1 and a monthly membership of $15. However, things have taken a turn for the worse. Today, I received an email informing me of an outstanding balance of $80 due. Despite my attempts to contact the gym and nicely request a cancellation, they have refused to cooperate. Instead, they insisted that opting out would require me to pay the full $80 for an activity I never participated in.
To make matters worse, the gym’s “manager,” clearly arrogant and dismissive, rudely stated that it was “not my fault you didn’t make the payments.” While the money was never the issue, and I’d happily pay the $80 if it meant avoiding this situation, I refuse to pay $80 for something I never used. As would anyone else This practice is unacceptable..
The gym’s attempt to justify their actions by comparing this situation to a Netflix membership was highly inappropriate and misleading. They claim that I would be charged the full amount for a single missed payment, unlike Netflix, which only charges for that specific missed payment and doesn’t increase the monthly fee. This comparison is flawed and does not reflect the reality of the situation.
The gym’s actions are clearly an attempt to take advantage of customers by charging excessive fees for an activity that was never used and looking at it im glad i never showed up. This practice is unacceptable and constitutes predatory behavior. I expect the gym to rectify this situation promptly and provide a fair solution.

When you have an employee that is customer facing please make sure they are friendly and welcoming. The young man that is at this location every morning doesn’t even acknowledge you because he has his nose plastered in his phone. Apparently his phone is more important than greeting customers. This location takes anywhere from three weeks to three months to get equipment fixed. I've spoken to both the manager and regional manager. They always have an excuse such as they one have one maintenance guy for the entire area. Why are we paying maintenance fees if you can't get the equipment fixed within a week? Stop the excuses and get the equipment fixed. The two hamstring machines have been down for over three weeks. Maybe you should hire another maintenance guy. STOP THE EXCUSES!

I went a bit further to avoid a crowded gym.⛹️ Well worth it. I prefer a bit of space. The employees are professional, very helpful & will demonstrate proper use of the equipment.

As a beginner, I chose the black card for the massage chairs, beds & red light booth. They've definitely helped my muscles recover.

I have a history of fibromyalgia, which had always flared up after starting an exercise program. It's been a month of gradually increasing weights & adding a couple of new machines each visit.

I'm very pleased & already see results, just going 2-3x a week - and no flare ups!

This location is getting run down. There are always broken machines, sometimes multiple. Management has known about burned out bulbs in the tanner that have been that way for months now. I'm half way between this location and Concord, and we are going to make the Concord location our home location. And everytime it’s always been disgusting, everytime I walk in there’s 3/4 staff at the front desk texting , I have brought the nastiness of the tanning beds to the attention of a manager and the response I get is “we just assume adults clean up after themselves, and we don’t always have time to clean in between it’s absolutely nasty, I should not have to spend 5 mins cleaning up someone else’s gunk, and my light comes up and then have to try and press stop and the stop button not work bc it’s slimey, the health department needs to look into this. For the most part it’s ok and gets the job done. However, you get a LOT of younger people who sit on machines on their phones so it’s hard to rotate or grab a machine without waiting a while. Or you get people who put their things at the benches/machines and leave them there while rotating to another machine. If you try to use it, they come over telling you it’s occupied. When you notify the front desk, they tell you until they have more people complaining, there’s not much they can really do about it. Then you get the young selfie girls in the locker rooms. Overall, the staff could be more friendly and a bit more lively and actually monitor what is going on so people can actually use equipment.

I absolutely love going to my home gym in Cornelius NC. I go 3 to 4 days a week and every time I go no matter what time the entire staff is friendly and nice and all around positive. The gym it self is always clean and equipment is in working order. If something is broken it won’t be for long. I actually saw a guy, bald, glasses and black shirt on his hands and knees wiping down all the treadmills, that is amazing. The locker room is same thing always clean and stocked. I will keep going for as long as I can you all are outstanding, thank you very much.

After checking out all the Planet Fitnesses in the Lake Norman area, this one became my regular. They have all the equipment I look for; Total Body Enhancement, the newer stairmasters and Hydromassage beds (loungers too but I just want the bed). The woman's locker room is a good layout and the showers are hot. The gym floor has a good layout with room to work. the staff are on top of cleaning and are friendly and helpful.

When going in with the intention of signing up for a membership and walking out because a front desk employee / “customer service” can’t answer simple questions without getting argumentative. Someone with some experience really needs to sit down with that employee and explain you are dealing with the public and sometimes people have questions that don’t result in a sale without answering questions. Whoever owns or manages this Planet Fitness truly needs to reconsider who deals with their clients after having my first encounter with the staff. If a manager wants to respond to this post this can be handled properly. At the time I felt it was more appropriate to delete my account information that i had input on your IPad and walk out of your facility instead of trying to continue to attempt to hold a conversation with someone who was unable.

Don’t go to this location if you are a person of color. I repeat the worst experience I’ve had! I live about three miles from that location and decided to start going since it was convenient big mistake! The employee there kept following me around and when I spoke to him got completely ignored. Good place, but no better than the ones in Charlotte

I locked my stuff in an empty locker (or so I thought), but when I returned after my workout, my lock was gone and my valuables were left unsecured for hours. I checked with the attendant and he said that he had to cut my lock because someone claimed that their car keys were in my locker and that the policy gave him authority to cut my lock. He repeatedly said that he followed the policy and knowingly left my valuables unsecured in the locker room after the lock was cut. I was literally across the gym while the attendant was cutting my lock and he didn’t bother to do his due diligence to find out who’s lock it was before destroying my sense of security. PF policy states “Only authorized personnel (managers) are allowed to cut locks. ALL ITEMS WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE LOCKER AND STORED AT THE FRONT DESK UNTIL THEY CAN BE RETURNED TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNER”. He would have been directly liable if my car was stolen, if my ID was stolen (with home address), if my credit card/card info was stolen, my work building was broken into (key card), my home was broken into (house keys), etc., but apparently he only cared about the guy who didn’t bother to put a lock on the locker or mark the locker as “occupied”. The attendant is very lucky that nothing was stolen. Still monitoring my credit card transactions to see if someone stole my credit card information, and keeping an eye out for suspicious people in my neighborhood…

I do not recommend this location for POC. The employees are racist and are intimidated by the color of a person's skin. My membership was canceled by the assistant manager Jillian for wearing Crocs to add to it Jillian also thought it funny to have me escorted out by two police officers for you guessed it wearing Crocs. This company is clearly not inclusive and they do not care about the members only the money. I would not recommend this gym club corporation to anyone and plan to share my terrible experience and what happened to me with anyone that asks me why I'm no longer a black card member. Poor customer service. poor conflict resolution. poor member retention. *no stars. Go to the Concord location the peace of mind and safe environment is worth the drive

This gym is amazing. Its very clean and lots of amenities. The staff is amazing. They are always so nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend Planet Fitness Cornelius to anyone!
