The staff is friendly and helpful. The gym is very well maintained and extremely clean. Plenty of equipment with little to no wait time. I do wish this location had more free weight options aside from just dumbbells. Considering it’s such a large military town, I do believe the free weights would certainly be utilized… But the smith machine will do for now. Certainly a great bang for your buck. 💪🏼

BEST GYM EVER!! Employees are excellent and there are plenty of places to workout, free weights as well. There are Tanning beds, infra red, and water massage beds and full body massage chairs. Bathrooms, lockers and showers!! Super clean!!

The most ridiculous and inconsistent hours. Some times they’re 24/5 sometimes they’re 24/3. I’m not sure how this is the only gym I’ve ever seen not figure out how to nail down a 24/7 system.

Absolutely best planet fitness i have been to so far. But the the fact they close so early on some days make it almost not worth continuing my subscription. The job i have has very weird hours and the fact they close early on weekends are really unfortunate thats my only complaint. (Not satisfied with this copied and pasted response)

I like this place because I can move from exercise to exercise rapidly and don't need to wait. The message and red light therapy is great after a workout.

The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The gym was clean. They have a large variety of equipment. I definitely recommend Planet Fitness Havelock. This is my first time going to a Planet Fitness.

Smaller gym, they made my guest sign up for something and download an app and then it gives a 404 error code. Absolutely ridiculous process to make me jump through to bring a guest when I pay almost $30 a month. It sucks they have a functional monopoly on nation wide gyms.
Just give me a key card and stop mining my data.

Every other planent fitness that I have ever been to or seen is open 24/7. This one says 24/5 and is only open 24/7 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Other the jacked up hours this planet fitness has it actually not a bad facility. The employees keep everything clean and this pf has all the weird message tables and tanning booths.

I'm coming back to work out after injury recovery and travel out of town. I have always jumped rope as a full body warm up. The staff stopped me the other day saying it was against policy. They listed a variety of reasons including that jump ropes are dangerous, and what if everyone wanted to jump rope at the same time? To the former, a jump rope is a whole lot less dangerous than ANY of the other equipment already in the gym. And as far as managing the use of a jump rope the owners could simply designate a spot on the floor with paint. Jump rope there and general gym etiquette takes over. If someone is already there you wait your turn. There was no coherent discussion with the staff, they all had a power trip attitude especially the two females about the only answer is no. I did not feel like I was being heard. They just told me the policy was "no out side gym equipment allowed.". Okay, where does that stop? That is pretty subjective, and subject to be applied unevenly.. as I found out today it's okay for people to bring in their own stretch bands. When I asked the staff why that was okay and not my jump rope they had no objective answers. I do not like the way the staff is applying rules per their whims, they apply their own policy with loose interpretation and it changes daily. I do not feel welcome, I felt gymtimidated by the staff themselves. I will find another place to work out and cancel this.

Great place to workout and great staff. I froze my account for a couple months due to an upcoming surgery but the surgery was postponed for 2 weeks. The staff allowed me access to the gym although my account had a freeze on it and it had passed the time frame for the freeze to be lifted. Can’t speak highly enough about my experience with the Havelock Planet Fitness staff members.

I’ve been working in a nearby town for the past few months and this was the closest PF to me. It has to be one of the cleanest and friendliest PF I’ve ever been to. Every single time I come in I’m greeted with a smile. They are also always cleaning the equipment! It was a great experience.

I used to love their circuit training program! Not anymore as of 2024. There are new machines in the circuit training room which were just thrown in there with no rhyme or reason. Before, you started the workout with the large muscle groups in your legs, than back and shoulders, and you ended with arms and core. Now it's whatever. I talked to corporate and local office personnel, no one cares.

I really did enjoy this place, but I think they need to have a few staff members with better customer service. I accidentally scanned my card on the wrong scanner after the guy at the counter told me to use a different one. Apparently my mistakes warranted the two guys behind the counter to crack a hushed joke and laugh at me.
Sorry for being fallible (as all humans are). So much for a judgement free atmosphere.
update: customer service has greatly improved, I am glad I can feel more comfortable coming into the gym each morning and continue my routine. Thank you to PF staff.

Just want to say the staff at the Havelock PF are amazing and always very friendly. As a Black Card member we utilize the tanning booths regularly. My wife and I have reported bulbs (4 each in 2 booths) being burnt out for the last month, to staff. They say they are having difficulty getting new bulbs. This has been going on for over a month. Would love to give you 5 stars but can not at this time. Please change your bulbs.

It’s got good equipment but most of the people, especially the elderly ones don’t clean them after use. Or you get the people who are “using” something but they are on their phones wasting everyone’s time. Phones shouldn’t be allowed to be used while using any equipment. I’ve also seen dudes vaping I mean grown a**adults acting like children trying to be sneaky why????
Also if you want to be entertained you got what I call “the wall people” who do more staring at themselves in the wall mirror than actually work out all the while meeting their next gym hookup 🤡🤡🤡

When I started here years ago, the atmosphere and staff were great! But lately with all the staff turnover, they seem to invite the “look at my butt” girls that are scantly clad who act as drapery & think it’s an Instagram photo shoot on the machines instead of actually working out and “watch me” boys who use equipment recklessly/inappropriately and today saw dangerous climbing. I haven’t seen them enforce the rules this gym claims to have in many months. It’s turning into every other gym completely against the PF mantra.

I really like Planet Fitness. Equipment is almost always available, if not they have a lot of other choices until you get a chance to work in. I can get in and out very quickly and be on my way. Also I love how big the gyms are and the amount of room you have to work out without people being right on top of you like other gyms I’ve been a member of. Our PF where I live is huge.(they remodeled an old Winn Dixie!) Oh yeah, the prices are fantastic! We thought about making our own workout space at home but after a lot of figuring quality equipment costs, SPACE, electricity(heat and air) it was just so much smarter to go to PF because of all of the equipment available for so cheap. We pay $10 a month! Also we live a mile away, it was a no brainer.

I love how the employees get to know the costumers. I walk in and they are so friendly and personable. They give me recommendations for things like tanning that are very helpful such as when they get new bulbs in making the beds stronger. Great atmosphere and employees are always positive.

Planet Fitness is a wonderful gym facility. They have every machine imaginable, including hydro massage beds & massage chairs so you can get that hard earned reward after your workout! And, they keep all the machines well maintained and in good working order. The cleanliness is superior and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Planet Fitness. I have tried other gyms closer to home, and travel out of my way to this one from work, in Morehead City, and from home in Newport. Please open a facility in Morehead City!

It's a decent place, it's a bit smaller than some of the nearly locations but it gets the job done. The only thing is that due to the facility being smaller I've found that I'm more often running into situations where I have to wait for certain pieces of equipment, obviously depends on the time of day due to volume, especially the bench machine. However it's not always too crowded and the personnel are friendly so no issues there and the equipment for the most part is in decent condition
