Really open space with tons of room to workout! I dropped by this one while traveling and it is one of the nicest ones I have seen! I wasn't fond of the weird parkinglot shape and that 2/3rds of the gym is all cardio. A gym that big should have way more than 2 strength equipment sets per exercise. I thought for sure I would not have to wait for any of my sets at 10pm but I still did. Staff seemed friendly but low energy. I am used to the staff at my local gym being very enthusiastic, talkative and smiley! Glad I stopped by and will probably still be back again as I pass through for work.

The gym is nice and clean but the hours suck I want to work out when I get off work and they close so early on certain days all planet fitness I know are 24 hours but THIS ONE! And I don’t want to travel 45 minutes to go to one that is. Please make it 24 hours 7 days a week like every other planet fitness!

Edited 10/7/24: I will never do business with Planet Fitness ever again. I would give a ZERO star but it doesn’t provide that option. I originally gave 5 stars when we signed up. The staff was kind and conditions were clean. But after multiple billing issues and stringent and almost impossible cancellation policies after I moved out of town, I’m fed up. The manager, Amanda, at the Kinston location is rude and needs major training in customer service on how to deal with frustrated customers. Luckily I finally got things worked out through Corporate Customer Service who were helpful, generous, empathetic, and kind. But because of Amanda, the Kinston Manager, Planet Fitness has lost my business, and my family’s business, permanently.

Previous review: Staff is so kind and helpful. Facilities are exceptionally clean. Love the amenities included in the membership. People that go here are very nice also. Highly recommend.

Look I love everything about the facility. The offering of equipment the wellness center the cleanliness. It just needs a couple improvements. Perhaps the addition of a sauna in the locker rooms.

And a big one…PLEASE FIND A WAY TO STILL BE OPEN FOR GYM GOERS ON HOLIDAYS! People still like to work out on holidays. Make it so the wellness center is locked and people can only access the gym floor. Yall have cameras for a reason. Have people scan their tags at the door for these days.

I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness for some time now, and overall, I’m quite impressed with the facilities and the value for money. The gyms are always clean and well-maintained, and the equipment is in excellent condition. The staff is friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming environment for people of all fitness levels. The “Judgment Free Zone” philosophy truly makes it a comfortable space for everyone.

However, there is one significant area where Planet Fitness could improve: their weekend hours. For many of us, weekends are the primary time we can commit to longer, more relaxed workout sessions due to our busy work schedules during the week. Unfortunately, the limited hours on weekends make it challenging to fit in a workout, especially for those who have other commitments.

It would be incredibly beneficial if Planet Fitness could extend their hours on Saturdays and Sundays. More flexible weekend hours would not only accommodate the schedules of working individuals but also provide greater convenience for families and those who prefer to exercise later in the day.

Extending weekend hours would make Planet Fitness an even more attractive option for a broader range of people. I hope the management considers this feedback, as it would greatly enhance the overall member experience.

During my brief visit to Planet Fitness, I observed some positives from the entrance: the gym appeared clean, and the equipment was in nice order, suggesting good maintenance of the facilities. There were also plenty of TVs, which could be appealing for those looking to stay entertained while working out.

However, my experience was predominantly underwhelming. Upon entering, the air felt hot and stagnant, immediately setting an uncomfortable tone. A lack of greeting added to an unwelcoming atmosphere, making me feel overlooked from the start.

The interaction with the staff member at the counter was minimal and not particularly helpful. He seemed to lack knowledge about the gym's facilities and memberships, providing me with a card for self-exploration rather than offering the guidance I needed. I discovered later that the sign-up process could have been completed at home, a piece of information that would have been helpful upfront.

Additionally, the requirement for both credit card and banking information for registration is a practice I find unsettling. The absence of a guided tour and any enthusiastic engagement from the staff left me feeling rushed and unattended to, contributing to an impersonal visit.

From my limited perspective at the entrance, I also noted the gym's layout, particularly the Black Card area, which lacked privacy and was exposed to anyone entering the facility. It was disconcerting to see, for instance, a member trying to relax in a massage chair while being in full view of the public.

Overall, while the cleanliness and orderliness of the gym from what I could see were commendable, these aspects were overshadowed by the lack of proper customer service, the uncomfortable environment, and inadequate privacy measures. My experience felt rushed and neglected, as I was not offered a tour or sufficient attention. I hope this feedback encourages improvements, particularly in how new visitors are welcomed and guided. It’s my hope that with more experience, the staff can become more attentive to customer needs and comfort.

This is ABSOLUTELY the best looking (outside and inside) Planet Fitness that I ever visited in my life and I have been to a lot of other ones in this country. They have all of the exercise equipment and cardio equipment that you’ll need to work every part of your body. The staff is nice as well. This new location in K-town rocks!
