Came here 1 week after Hurricane Helene to get a workout in as I stayed with a friend’s parents in town to be able to rest, recoup, shower and have power before returning to AVL with aid. (Asheville had no electricity for 2+ weeks and no running or potable water for 2 months post storm)

The manager with star tattoos on her arm with bleach in her hair wouldn’t let me in because of some “lapse” of payment that was not legitimate (I have had auto pay on for years for a black card membership and other locations never said a word) even when I let her know I live in Asheville. She was extremely rude and I was shocked… so someone walked in and he said I could be his guest… this lady’s life mission was to block me from getting in and she just wouldn’t have it. For a $15 gym, and someone in a city that was shut down by a catastrophic natural disaster. Despicable power trip for a manager of a chain gym. Humble yourself.

The woman at the front desk was very rude to me and my daughter. We were signing my son up and was told that no one 13 and under could be on the floor so my daughter couldn't go to the restroom. I came back to get my son after 2 1/2 hrs and she said I could not go get him she said too text him and asked if he was still here after all this time. I told her she was rude to me.

Although this is not a complete gym because it does not offer swimming pool or classes it is Worth four stars for the equipment they do have… I gave it three stars for the circuit factor… if I was going to rate the circuit there, I would give it TWO because they never monitor it. People go in there and don’t do the circuit and get in your way and you can’t finish your circuit and even though I’ve talked to the people at the desk, they will not monitor or kick people out of there or re-explain to patrons what the signs already say that it is for circuit training ONLY!

I’m very disappointed with my experience at Planet Fitness. There’s a clear bias in how African American members are treated—often with disrespect, lack of consideration, and poor communication. The staff can be rude and dismissive, and they handle concerns with a clear lack of professionalism.

Due to a recent personal interaction with the staff, I’ve decided to cancel my membership. I’d rather pay double somewhere else and be treated with basic respect and decency than continue supporting a place that clearly doesn’t value all of its members equally.

A gym should be a welcoming, inclusive space for everyone. Unfortunately, Planet Fitness has not lived up to that standard. I hope they take serious steps to address these issues and start living up to their “Judgment Free Zone” promise.

I was introduced to so many machines to work out so many parts of my body. I was shown all sorts of options for all sorts of workout goals. For an example, if I needed to get in and out in 30 minutes with a great total body high intensity workout, the PF 30 workout section is where I want to go.

Clean machines. PLEASE deodorize the locker rooms 🙏 probably the most rancid smelling locker room I've ever stepped foot in. The smell hits you before you round the corner. Its harsh...I know its a locker room but sheesh.
Staff is nice. Lots of space so never have to wait to long for anything. Weekends are very slow so those are my favorite days for this location. Gets me in and out with my two hour routines

While I love Planet Fitness, I was very disappointed with my first visit to this particular planet fitness. I usually go into the 30 minute workout so I can go from machine to machine quickly. Nobody in this 30 minute workout room was following any of the rules. Somewhere staying on a single machine For 15 or more minutes at a time. Somewhere alternating between the same machine and wait over and over again, not giving other people a chance. There is only one lady at the front desk and no one to help her, no way to enforce these rules.
The bathroom was not clean at all.
Management really needs to step up at this planet fitness

Update. I’ve had to change my review from a two star to a one star. I would like to give a lower review, but Google will not let me. Not only do we have the same issues today that we had on my previous visit but this time, they’re not willing to give me the ice stickers for the tanning bed. They did that last time. I had to pay a dollar this time and not only was I’m not able to pay cash but they forced me to pay via credit card. The cashier or front desk clerk, whatever you want to call him was rude. Thank God I do not have to come back to Mooresville anytime soon. Very upset.

First time ever rating a gym, let alone a planet fitness. I previously worked at the Salisbury location (I mention because I know how hard it is to keep a gym clean). This is the cleanest gym I have ever been to. Almost everytime I go, the equipment looks freshly wiped. Even the spots people normally wouldnt look at like the bottom of stairsteppers, smith machines, etc. The staff is so friendly and sweet. I just want to say thank you for making cleaning a priority. Us guests do notice and it genuinely makes working out so much more enjoyable. Just based on how the gym looks alone, id say your employees definitely deserve a raise or some kind of employee appreciation ♥️

In particular, the classes with Alan have improved my muscle tone and flexibility which all but eliminated the general aches and pains I attributed to aging. I am leaving a one star review based on Trainer Allan. He was NO help to me during my training session. It was a joke. It went through session extremely fast. I had to ask him if I was using the equipment correct, then he showed me the proper way to use it. He acted liked he was uncomfortable with me, he wouldn't talk or smile. I am assuming because I don't look like him. He showed me he is RACIST!

I see him in training sessions, with people who look like him, he is bubbly and laughing and smiling with them, and help them. During my session he showed signs, he was interested in helping me and he didn't. His sessions with people who look like him, are over 2 hours, my session was maybe 30 minutes. What is the difference in me and people that look like him? Allan definitely need diversity training.

The staff at the front desk are extremely unhelpful and careless about their job. They don't seem to have any intention of assisting a client. Additionally, if you pay for a black membership, you can't even use the bathroom because someone on the team downgraded the subscription accidentally. If you try to use the bathroom, you will be asked to leave the gym and the police might be called on you. They really need to interview and train their staff better. I'm grateful that I don't live in Morsville , so I can still use the gym. However, if you are considering using this gym, I would advise thinking twice.

I have been a member of Planet Fitness since 2017, and I did NOT request to cancel my membership.
Unfortunately, recently transferred to this location.
I have been to Planet Fitness locations all over the country and I have never been harassed by members or staff until I came to this gym.

I have had members use equipment I was actively using while there was identical and available equipment adjacent to the equipment I was using, trying to bully me off of the piece of equipment I was using.
I have had members invade my personal space and use equipment that clearly had my personal belongings on it.
I have had members be creepy and lean on a smith machine I was actively using even though there was 3 other smith machines available.
These are just a few instances out of many!
I’ve even had a member drink out of my personal beverage that definitely is not sold at this location, or any Planet Fitness location I’ve ever been to.

I couldn’t figure out why this location is so creepy, but it’s because the general manager Matt Chastain doesn’t take complaints from women seriously.
He just sides with creepy men that lack boundaries and it has created a horrible gym culture at this location over the years.
He will refuse to communicate via email and just try to cancel your membership for no reason.

If Mooresville Planet Fitness responds to this review publicly to say, tells me to “please reach out to discuss this”, please believe me when I say that they do not mean it.
I sent them an email with my complaints and they responded to my email with a membership cancellation.

In “response”, Mooresville Planet Fitness sent me an email with an attached document that stated there was a “cancellation of my membership” due to a “policy violation”.
WHAT POLICY WAS VIOLATED?
MY EMAIL WAS NEVER ADDRESSED AND THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLANATION OF ANY POLICY BEING VIOLATED .
There was no reason to try to cancel my membership and the document they sent me was a forged document without my own signature stating a cancellation of my membership.

At this location, you aren’t allowed to stand up for yourself or let staff members know you’re being harassed.
If you communicate with staff members, they will target you and it will lead to an escalation of harassment from the staff and an attempt cancel your membership without your consent.

I absolutely feel discriminated against and harassed.

This location is absolutely disgusting.

I repeat, if you are a woman,
YOU ARE NOT SAFE AT THIS LOCATION.
