I've got two PFs almost the same distance away although this one is easier to get to most of the time. Everyone has their gym preferences, but PFs are affordable and you can generally get in and get out if you choose your times around the crowds.

Generally good people here and most of your standard equipment. The need another Pec/Delt fly machine (or two) as there's usually a wait trying to get the only one they have here unless you go at low peak hours. It's a bit of a drag that they don't have some equipment (like body comp) due to their "no judgement" interpretation, but for the price it's ok.

24-hour spot near my cousin, glad I’m a member. The location was very convenient as it was just down the street. Probably one of the first time I’ve visited a location that has tons of machines which made it easier to get a workout in. The service was good. I’m usually very positive about this club except for one thing, the shower water is cold! It’s been the case for the last 3 times I’ve been there. If you don’t want people to use the showers, just close them and say you don’t have that amenity. Be honest about it.

I joined this PF a year ago after my old gym closed down. Honestly, I had low expectations based on online complaints (of other PF gyms). I’m realizing now some people are miserable and love to complain.

This location has been great. The staff is so nice! They always greet you and wish you a great workout. And always wish you a great day when you’re leaving. They constantly vacuum, dust, mop and refill sanitizing spray stations. The machines are well maintained and rarely broken.

As for the members that work out, the vast majority just “get after it” heads down and don’t park on the machines. You’ll have the occasional but most people are very respectful and clean the machines after they use it. Most people dress very respectable but I do wish there was some type of dress code enforcement for the occasional scantily clad ladies (ie butt cheeks exposed/bikini top etc - not talking yoga clothes).

All in all, this is a great gym. Highly recommend!

I am writing this review to warn others about the consistently poor customer service at this location. For a gym that promotes a "Judgement Free Zone," the attitude of one employee is incredibly judgmental and unwelcoming.

The woman with black hair at the front desk has been rude and unprofessional on four separate occasions. She never greets customers, always seems to be in a bad mood, and answers questions with a dismissive and negative attitude.

It's a shame because the other staff members are friendly and the facilities are decent. However, the hostile environment created by this one employee is enough to drive customers away. My family and I have officially canceled our Planet Fitness membership because of her. We will not return as long as she is working there.

🌟 1-Star Review: Consistently Disappointing Experience

I’ve been a loyal Planet Fitness member for a while now and have visited many locations across different cities. Up until now, I’ve always had a great experience—except at this particular location.

Unfortunately, nearly every visit here has been frustrating, and the biggest issue is the shower water. It’s never hot. I’ve waited close to 20 minutes hoping the water would warm up, and it never did. It’s beyond inconvenient, especially after a workout when a warm shower should be standard.

This isn’t a one-time issue—it’s happened repeatedly. I know what to expect from the Planet Fitness brand, and this location simply does not meet those expectations. I've spoken to other members who have had the same experience, so it’s clearly not an isolated incident.

Until this issue is fixed, I won’t be returning to this location and would not recommend it to others who value basic amenities being functional.

Was enjoying coming to this location. Very clean facility and not usually packed. Unfortunately they hired a very rude front desk associate. The woman was very unfriendly rolled her eyes at me and gave a lot of attitude when I ask questions. I had a great workout, but unfortunately, left very frustrated with the way she spoke with me. When I first signed up for Planet Fitness, I was impressed. The machines, cleanliness, and overall environment were superb. Unfortunately, my positive impression quickly changed due to the strict rules and the inconsistency among staff when enforcing them.

As an African American member, I noticed a lack of consistency in how rules were applied. For example, during my first week I was never asked for my ID. Then, one early morning around 5:00 a.m., after scanning in with my phone as usual, a staff member insisted I go back to my car in the dark to retrieve my ID because “the computer required it.” This was a real inconvenience, especially since I had already been coming daily without issue.

Another time, I asked if my guest (I have the Black Card membership) could start working out a few minutes before I arrived since I often get off work late. One staff member told me this would be fine as long as my guest showed her pass. Yet, on August 29th, the same gentleman who once made me retrieve my ID contradicted this completely and told me my guest could not enter without me. He cited the contract, which I respect, but it’s the inconsistency of information from staff that’s most frustrating.

To make matters worse, when I asked to use the massage chairs with my guest, the same staff member (Gabriel) allowed it “just this once” but warned it would not be allowed again. At this point, I had enough. I asked to cancel my contract immediately.

I don’t mind following rules—but when the rules change depending on who you ask, it feels like micromanagement and poor customer service. The YMCA may cost a bit more, but they offer family-friendly memberships, consistent policies, and freedom to enjoy all amenities without constant contradictions.

If you want to pay to be micromanaged and deal with staff who are not on the same page, Planet Fitness may be for you. As for me, I’ll be taking my membership elsewhere. This was my experience at the Planet Fitness gym off Louisburg , Forestville Rd.

Update * The stupid excuse that personal items can be a "potential tripping hazard" or a cause of theft is bs. Water bottles and phones aren’t kept in the locker... many people waste time on machines using their phones and no one says anything. But someone can’t have a bag with things they’re actually using to train. It’d be easier to just say you’re a gym that has no interest in promoting people learning how to train.***

Today I went to the gym with my mom because she wanted me to help her with her workout, and I quickly remembered why I stopped going to Planet Fitness years ago. I hadn’t even been there 5mins when an employee came over to say something about my gym bag. I carry a backpack with the things I USE DURING my workouts. The employee told me to place it in a spot in front of the treadmill, which was fine.

I started working out, and I could feel that there was an employee (trainer) constantly circling around the area we were in and watching us. Halfway through my workout—while he was supposedly training or helping someone—he came over to tell me I needed to take my backpack to the bathroom. I told him I had equipment in there that I was using for my exercises, which he could clearly see since I was using one on the Smith Machine. I asked if he was telling me I have to go back and forth to the bathroom every time I need something for a different exercise? And he said yes so we decided to leave.

And this is supposed to be a trainer—someone who should know better than anyone that once people reach a certain level, they start investing in certain equipment to help them with their workout, especially people with back issues. Planet Fitness honestly doesn’t promote people learning how to work out AT ALL. You feel like you’re in a prison with guards watching your every move, just waiting for a reason to call you out. They’re always circling around and bothering the members.

Still my favorite gym! PF has all the equipment I need, and it's always maintained well and clean. The friendly and helpful staff help to start my work out on a positive note, and they respond to any concerns I might have. Scheduled a TRX class at 12:30pm per the app for today. Waited for the trainer until 12:45pm then went to the front desk to inquire.

I was told that the trainer wouldn't be in until 1:30 pm and BTW the paper schedule is correct and the app is wrong. How would anyone know this? Planet Fitness is the perfect place for someone who enjoys working out independently with their own workout plan. I personally have the basic membership for $10/month and it's perfect for my lifestyle. I appreciate the 24 hour access because I work night shift and my sleep schedule is different from most people! There is always lots of equipment available. The locker room is always impeccably clean and lots of lockers available. I recommend you bring a lock to secure your belongings. The showers are spacious and the water pressure is great. They do have a body wash/shampoo dispenser available, but I personally prefer to bring my own products. It would be nice if there was an additional shelf or hook inside the shower stall.

If you upgrade your membership, there are lots of additional perks, like being able to go to any Planet Fitness, use of massage chairs, discount on drinks, etc.

I have been going to this location for a month as it’s closest to my house (also a prior member pre-pandemic). I am happy with the facility and equipment - it’s clean and fairly well maintained. However, I am not impressed at the lack of gender neutral facilities. A visit to the Wake Forest location had accessible lockers and gender neutral restroom facilities in addition to the locker rooms for men and women. This should be a priority - I’d recommend a conversion of just one of the multiple underutilized tanning bed rooms into a gender inclusive bathroom.
