The bathroom and showers are filthy!!! I went to the locker room shower yesterday and there was a dog treat in the shower! I go back today and look and it’s still there over 24 hours later. That means the staff who was huddled in the front talking is not taking care of the bathrooms. How can you be open 24 hours and not clean the bathrooms within that timeframe?

I had a great experience at the Planet Fitness location in Brier Creek. The gym is clean, well-organized, and has plenty of equipment available no matter what time you go. The layout makes it easy to move around without feeling crowded, even during busy hours.

The staff here is friendly, professional, and always willing to help or answer questions. The environment feels welcoming and judgment-free, which makes working out a lot more comfortable.

I also appreciate that the facility is open 24 hours — super convenient with a busy schedule. Overall, this is one of the best Planet Fitness locations I’ve been to. Highly recommend this club to anyone in the Raleigh area

Busy gym with aging and obsolete equipment. 4/8 stair climbers completely inoperative. Various other equipment will have “temporarily out of order” signs posted for greater than 2 weeks at a time.

The franchise owner appears to be completely disinterested in basic maintenance and safety as the temporary fixes do not result in long term solutions. Equipment at other Planet Fitness gyms is much newer and has never malfunctioned on me mid workout resulting in near injury.

I expressed polite concerns to the staff about this experience and was informed the franchise owner has been made aware of these chronic problems and the lack of maintenance repairs by the contracted individual. When I asked if I could escalate staff appeared to think the owner would not care.

So this is my attempt to hopefully draw the attention of the owner from negative publicity which is not my MO. The aging cardio equipment is need of significant refurbishment or ideally replacement in the interest of public safety. (Speaking as someone who escaped injury when a previously repaired device malfunctioned yet again).

Everytime I come in. I am welcomed by the friendly staff. Leon is who I see the most and is such a sweet heart. He has helped me with my questions and showing me things they have I never paid attention to before. The massage chair was shown to me and I love it. I cancelled my membership with Planet Fitness following all of their procedures correctly as I was on the phone with a representative while cancelling my membership (said representative assured me that I wouldn't be charged further). Two weeks later I was charged a total of nearly $100. I really enjoyed this gym while I was a member and never thought I'd leave a review like this, but not being aware that I would be charged this amount following a successful cancellation and not being worked with following a phone call is just not great customer service and needs to be looked into by management. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend Planet Fitness to anyone looking for flexibility, because once you're signed up, you're never getting out without paying them something additional. The timelines and expectations are unclear for someone looking to cancel, and breed confusion and lead the member to have to pay excessive amounts just to be free of the membership.

I am kind disappointed about this gym. I would drive 40 min just to work out here bc it was very clean and well managed. But I have been here twice in the last few weeks once in the afternoon and another later night early morning. Both times the men bathroom was disgusting. Toilet paper was everywhere in the bathroom stalls. There was hair in the shower and the drain. While the staff was playing on their phones sitting in a chair behind the desk. I think it’s time to find a new 24 hour gym

Half of the treadmills weren’t working today when I went, they had some kind of error displayed on the screens. So many of the towel dispensers were empty, I had to walk around the gym trying to find towels just to clean the machines. I saw plenty of people not even bother to clean their machines because of this. The place has a horrible smell, as if someone vomited on the floor. It’s overly crowded, even for a 12pm on a Saturday. I think they went back to 24/7 finally, so that is the only bright side. I would rather drive the extra 10 minutes to a different Planet Fitness or just get membership at a higher price somewhere else with a better quality facility and machines. This location will be a last resort for me, only if my partner drags me along.

Bright and airy gym. Very chill, no judgment atmosphere, just like they advertise. Patrons are really good about cleaning equipment after use and cleaning staff is visible on the floor - very clean gym. The amenities with the enhanced membership are great and well worth the upgrade. Very pleased with our choice to join.
UPDATE: This gym has gone severely downhill. Machinery regularly broken (see pic with 4/8 stair steppers out of order). Massage chairs not fully working. Strength machines broken and out of use. Is the owner/manager dead where they don’t see what’s going on??? Patrons are starting to not care since staff doesn’t care - not cleaning like they did 2 years ago. Pitiful, really. Have been to 3 other Planet Fitness gyms and they are NOT like this Brier Creek one. Two in Illinois (New Lenox and Lake Zurich) are beautiful with new machinery and very friendly staff. There are some friendly staff in Brier Creek, but the majority couldn’t be bothered by you, and hang out at the front desk, 5 at a time, talking or fixated on their phones. Again, pitiful. Searching now for a new gym. This location needs someone to take it over and revamp it. Wonder what Planet Fitness Corporate thinks about how this location affects its image. Did I mention pitiful???

I always love the staff I see here and the community, that said I have to edit my review because no meaningful updates have been made since I came here, in fact, some things have gone backwards.

Edit: you all need twice as many benches and more space in the freeweight area, and way less in the cardio area. Also the back area was better before the GM started tinkering with things and took away a nice place for people to do things like lunges, in fact, this WHOLE PLACE was organized better with the old setup, and the GM is never here to see how it is at peak time, just makes changes to look good to the regional manager

Great gym with a unique edge! I’ve really enjoyed my time here, especially because of the top-notch tanning beds—they’re definitely a standout feature. I joined Planet Fitness as a member in Long Island, NY but I am able to have full access to other locations such as this one near Brier Creek. I've been to several Planet Fitness locations in the NY area, but this is the first one I've been to in NC. So some of my feedback is relative to that experience...

Couple thoughts:

* Large facility, used to be a Best Buy which are by definition, large.

* Good, fully stocked selection of energy drink/protein shake beverages if thats your thing. Really nice after an intense workout even when you know you are paying premium, lol.

* I go at 7pm which is still quite a busy time. The drop off starts to happen around 8pm I noticed. But when things are "busy" I'm talking about weights, resistance machines.

* There is never a shortage of cardio equipment like treadmills. And therin lies my only negative - they need to do a reallocation. Halve the number of cardio, double the number of resistence machines. I think I only found one(!) seated chess press and I almost cried.

* Other gym goers are super polite and respectful. Never had issues with nobody.

But yes, overall, very typical Planet Fitness. All kinds of people at all stages of fitness come here and as a new-ish person to the gym (well at least new in the past 5 years) I actually find this encouraging.

I am overly impressed with the overall cleanliness of the gym and that staff are always cleaning what looks already clean to my eyes. It is a friendly and helpful group of people. I also recently used their trainer Rebecca at the Brier Creek NC gym. She put me through a really kick butt abd and leg routine. I am now trying to get on her schedule as much a possible. On 1/23/25 I visited the Brier Creek location and met with a woman named Rebecca. Rebecca checked with management and confirmed that I could cancel on that date and still have access to the gym up until February 16, 2025. The very next day at 4:30 AM I went to the gym and when I opened my app to scan to access the gym, realized Rebecca had already canceled my membership effective immediately, which did not allow me to use the gym for the entire remaining timeframe I had paid for as she stated.

It’s clean and nice for a PF. However, I’ve had to start going in the mornings (5am/6am) to avoid the New Year’s crowd, and there’s never anyone staffing the desk - meaning I cannot use the red light or hydromassage like I would like to at the end of my workout. This morning it was also so hot it became unbearable to do my usual workouts, even right under the fan. If I wanted to work out in a sauna, I’d do something fun like hot yoga.

I gave a 5 star back in July 2024. However, since then it has trended downward. Some of the staff will greet you with a smile, others not so much. This is especially true of some of the female employees who scan your phone and not even look at you. It was not like this a few months ago. I can deal with unfriendly workers the attitudes have decayed over the years everywhere in the service industry. The real problem is the equipment. Many of them have rips or tears. The step machines which people use often are in disrepair. There has been one machine that has not worked since before Halloween. Now, during the busiest season for a gym, not one, not two, but three steppers are not working. There are only 8 in total which is not a good ratio to begin with. Two of the steppers that are working sound like they are on their last legs. The one that I was forced to use had a terrible skip and felt as it could potentially hurt someone.

Time for Planet Fitness to STEP up and correct these issues.

My favorite part about Planet Fitness is that I get my steps in looking for a bench. Because they have so few, they're always taken. Meaning I get to do a few laps around the gym. Like a vulture circling from above looking for its next meal, I walk around waiting to scavenge an available bench.

I love the price, and the employees here are so very helpful, nice, and on the ball! However, the Brier Creek location has many roof leaks when it rains = FIX THAT! AND THE MOST ANNOYING THING is CHIVE TV!!!! WHO WANTS TO WATCH REPEATED, ENDLESS, AWFUL VIDEOS OF PEOPLE HURTING THEMSELVES and engaging in horribly risky behavior!!! Why on earth would you promote that to mostly young people?! It is unbelievably irresponsible. NO ONE WANTS TO WATCH THAT! I really wanted to join this gym BUT they require you to provide your banking account information and do not take credit cards. I have belonged to several gyms and this is a first. This planet fitness is incredibly clean. I enjoy the environment and the spacious workout area. I'm actually visiting the Raleigh area for business. I've been here for 7 months. An associate approached me to ask me to not speak on the phone. As I looked around I saw multiple people on the phone and even more talking loud. I felt discriminated against because I'm not from the area and I stay to myself. I thought this was a judgement free zone? I suppose it is when you're from the area apparently. I've been a member for 17 years but that will be no longer.
