A decent PF - good clientele, staff and generally clean, though relatively small. Machines "mostly" work - typically only 3 of 4 stair masters & no indication of preventative maintenance. Roof chronically leaks during heavy rain and staff does their best during these incidents. Chairs are ancient - none of them fully operate as designed - front desk claimed that Excel Fitness (the franchisee) won't cough up the $ to fix them much less update. That's pathetic. A decent (though small) PF with staff who clearly care working with not enough $ to keep things up-to-date.

This PF Gym in Sanford NC is well maintained and well managed. I enjoy visiting this gym to get my day started. Outside of compliments, I have the following critique to express because it is long overdue.

#1) "WHEN..." will PF finally incorporate a sauna???

#2) "WHEN..." will PF provide treadmills that have the decline feature (downhill angle)?

Many PF members who are older suffer from joint pain but they still want to use cardio machines like the treadmill. Traditional treadmill features like incline or pace variants are nice. However when using a treadmill at decline position (downhill angle) it reduces joint impact while providing the same workout.

Nearby construction is making showers and toilets unusable but I'm still being charged the full amount. Doesn't seem right!

I went in to use the shower yesterday and there's a big sign about construction problems with the shower, okay, but there was nothing about the bathroom being completely out of order. So i tell the lady at the front hey the toilets are out too. She's like yeah we're working on it. Lady i don't expect you to turn into tool time Tim Allen. Just make it clear the entire bathroom is out order. I'm not holding you personally responsible for the widening of Lizzie Hill but i am going to complain when you waste my time with half the information. Thanks

Purchased a membership just over a month ago. The staff are very friendly, the facility is nice and its never too crowded. My complaint is there are some housekeeping issues. Twice I have needed to end my workout and go home because there is no TP in the men's restroom/locker room. One of the soap dispensers is broken and unusable. I've also had two experiences where young girls are working the front and three of the trashcans throughout the gym were on the verge of overflowing and multiple paper towel dispensers to clean equipment were empty.

It's ok. Soap despenser in shower broken for weeks, and the mens room is constantly dirty. I go to Durham on my office days. It is night and day different. I think some of the weight machines hereare sub par. They don't seem to align well with your body. The torso twist machine is impossible for me to get a good workout. You sit on a slippery seat and can't move the weight without slipping in the seat.

I use to love going here, but here lately you can not get on machines. Younger members sit on the equipment to take videos, pictures, and texting. Tonight I waited on 3 machines that are beside each other for 35 minutes for one to open up. The members did not get up from them, just sat there doing their thing. When you say something to someone at the desk all you get is a look. Why can't someone be walking around making sure everything is OK with members. Instead they get paid to hold the counter up. Visit was 9/12/24 from 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm. No paper towels, bathroom needs attention, kids tying up machines.

I love the gym, very clean and neat BUT I spoke to one of the staff members and her name was JESSICA. Most planet fitness locations you get same exact equipment every once and a while you see something different referencing machines, this location has 3 that are different from most all other locations, chess press machine, one the best for chest, seat calf machine, feels really good pump, and angled seat leg press machine very unique. All 3 all rear and rear that many in one location.

Visited the Sanford location on the morning of May 30th between 8-9 a.m. The gym was clean, but the man behind the desk wearing a purple trainer/staff shirt was super rude. I first experienced attitude for using the wrong scanner then while returning my tanning card. I will not be returning to this location. I have been a black card member for a year and have visited many locations. This has been my first experience of disrespect.

It's a great deal for $23/month you get a trainer, tanning, massage chairs, hydro massage beds, red light therapy, showers, etc. There are hundreds of machines, weightlifting areas ellipticals and treadmills. You really can't beat it for the price. It's a very clean facility as well.

If you don't have the funds in your account for the membership, they'll charge you $30 for a "bounced check" fee and try again the next day to get their payment. If you still don't have the funds the second day, they'll charge you an additional $30 fee.
My account was thrown in the negative simply because I wasn't aware it was coming out that day. In the day and age where nearly everyone is struggling financially, you'd think there would be a little heads up or something.

Very pleased with the staff at this location. I always feel welcomed when I go in very early morning. I've never felt judged or felt uncomfortable in fact I've had a few compliments by some regulars that have seen my progress that going to the gym has made for me. If you're plus size and worried at all, don't be. Everyone at this gym has the same goal no matter their size. I like to coming and working out. And the workout area and machines are clean. But the bathrooms are nasty every time I come in. Paper towels all over the floor. Water all over. Planet Fitness is a good gym for beginners and intermediate level workouts ... and for those who are recovering from injuries.

The highest dumbbells at this gym are 75lbs, and there are 5 smith machines for alternate 'free weights' style workouts. A good workout can still be done with the systems; however, you may have to wait for availability ... Part of my reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The other is that the area for dumbbell workouts can get too crowded as well. There are lots and a variety of cardio machines to choose from. The other 3 workout sections are good as well too.

The staff will not bother you and will talk with you when approached to answer any questions or concerns.

I've waited about 6 months before providing a review .... I'm currently noticing an increase of people during the beginning of the year as expected, which will stress and is stressing evening hours for working out ... the teen summer program can also stress the spacing and usage of the equipment ...
