Be careful doing cardio!!! Power failure mid workout and not the 1st time! Every machine shut off simultaneously and all the front desk had to say is "Yeah we will flip the breaker." Thats an injury and lawsuit waiting to happen

I have been a PF member for about 10 years and this location has been my main since they opened. The employees are friendly and overall its not terrible

Its always been fine, but has really gone downhill in the last year. Locker rooms / bathrooms are regularly not clean. Dirt, etc on the floors and benches. I can only assume they push a broom through them real quick and havent actually mopped in ages.

A lot of the things like that I just deal with because its PF. Its cheap and you don't expect perfection.

My real gripe is that this location recently added more strength training equipment and as a result cut the amount of treadmills seemingly in half. You are typically waiting for a treadmill at busy times now. It seems like they would have been better off removing ellipticals as they are hardly used at all.

If I could give them 2.5 stars I would. 3 seems high.

Been a member for years. The facility is clean, and equipment maintained in good condition. Staff is friendly.

CONS:
They could use a couple more standing cable machines, as there’s always a line for them.

The circuit room is useless. It’s not a 30-minute workout because there are always people misusing the room, doing sets on the machines, and you can’t get around it to get in and out on your lunch break, or keep up your heart rate. Staff should better enforce their policies and check frequently that those who wish to do the circuit can, and sets are done out on the floor.

I deleted my prior 5 star review due to what I believe is a management issue...I've been a member of Planet Fitness in NYC and NJ ...personnel in all of them are nice,including Wake Forest...however I will no longer recommend Wake forest to others...my prior experience with all PF is all employees appear properly trained in gym rules....Every employee enforce the rules....that is not happening at Wake Forest...there is a bald member that insists on talking outloud on his cellphone...I avoid being on the gym section he is in since I have to hear him....with the exception of Kat, it is evident employees are either not knowledgeable or unwilling to make a correction...If employees are being properly trained it does not show....I reduced my 5 star prior review to a Two star review...people should do their jobs...thanks for reading my review

This club is so crowded. It is hard to find a time when I can easily use all of the equipment I want unless I go in the middle of the night. I canceled my membership, and I'm still getting charged an annual fee as well as the early cancellation fee. Do not sign up for a membership unless you 100% understand how difficult it is to not renew. Rae was the manager on duty when I went in there today. She was very rude and after telling me that there was absolutely nothing she could do, which I know is wrong because I've talked to people on the phone who said that the managers have the power to waive fees, she walked away and left the poor customer service person to handle the rest of my transaction. I'm so glad I'm done with this place

2/17/25 Did not get a good experience here. Signed up a month ago, rep told me out of key fobs but when more come in I will get one. Been a month, have not had any success, someone took my name and number down to set one aside. I go in today, they tell me they received some in, all out, no more coming. I am a man of principal, do what you say, cancelled, will go workout elsewhere.

Smith machines. We all know it’s going to be a wait for that. However, wait times have been longer due to members reserving a smith machine by leaving an item at the machine, doing one set, then walking off to do another workout then coming back to complete another set and so on. I do often find myself leaving without completing a full workout due to that. Other than that, everything is great.

First commercial gym I’ve gone to so take that with a grain of salt. However, for the price and convenient location for me, it is well worth it. The majority of the staff are super friendly and even the ones who aren’t the most outgoing and still incredibly helpful when needed. I appreciate how clean the space of kept. In any given work out I see at least one employee dusting, vacuuming, wiping down equipment or cleaning the bathroom. The reason for four stars is the lack of smith machines (4 total) and most frequently used free weights (2 pairs of each weight). It’s not so bad if you get there around 4:30am but I’ve given up on trying to go after work just because it feels as though I’m spending more time waiting than working out. But if you’re an early bird or a night owl, that shouldn’t be a problem!

The staff are friendly and really try to help. The problem I have is that unless you want an elliptical, and especially if you want to get on one of only four steppers, there can be a wait - even on days when it is not busy. A lot of people will laugh and joke about Planet Fitness. You can’t go by what you see on social media at the expense of others. I travel for work and leisure every month. The convenience of Planet Fitness is second to none. To have a gym nearby in another state is priceless.

As for my Wake Forest, NC location…
For the first time in many months, it was an absolute treat to actually know your front desk staff can actually speak and engage in meaningful conversation. I have seen Ethan many times and has always been helpful. I just met Kat and she was very friendly and helpful as a manager should be.
