I’ve been going to Pride Conditioning for about a month or two now and I’ve honestly enjoyed working out here more than ever. The workouts are challenging but motivating, and the atmosphere makes it easy to stay consistent. Coach Doug has been a huge help, always taking the time to correct my form, answer questions, and push me in the right way. Thanks to him and the overall vibe of the gym, I actually look forward to working out, which hasn’t always been the case for me.

Beautiful, large space with full powerlifting and oly setup (tons of calibrated plates and competition racks!). For strongman training, there is a yoke, log, heavy sandbag, tires, two sets of farmers handles, and an axle bar. PRIDE is the best place in Charlotte to train for your next strength competition or simply get started on the path to more strength and athleticism.

Me, my girlfriend and my friend stopped into Pride Strength and Conditioning on a Saturday afternoon for an SBD day. The owner and gym had an awesome and comforting environment and I recommend anybody from the nearby Charlotte area to stop in for a day to try the gym!

Up 20lbs and going (2023- current). Def the most rewarding journey yet. Moved this way from SoCal and found myself mentally lost. Figured since I'm a 115lb street hockey player, how hard could it be putting in work at the gym? Nope. Didn't realize how weak I was, couldn't do a single pushup. For about 9 months, got in at 6am with some fellow gym-mates and Coach Doug put us TO WORK. From Sept to Dec, I was finally able to do my first sets of push-ups. The end of 2024, did my first competition hosted at the gym with the help of Coach Doug & Coach Lindsey. Hit PRs I didn't think I'd ever make from my first year of training. Coming into 2025, I'm more confident in myself than ever, & weighting a solid 135lbs. Coaches got me on a more personalized schedule and I have THE HOTTEST pumps. These guys have adopted me into their family and I'm grateful I've found a home away from home. Best of all, they don't ever give me a reason of why I should quit. Whenever hesitation creeps onto my face, they just stare me down and say "NO, YOU GOT THIS". Whatever Goals you have for yourself, they make it their priority too. This gym really has it all. On my second month here and loving it. Classes are small and focused on lifting weights with some cardio work too. None of the "culty" feel of a lot of box gyms; generally very low-key and genuinely focused on doing good work in the gym.

So far I have had a great experience at Pride. The small class size has allowed me to get feedback from Coach Doug and improve my form. Everything is always clean and well organized in the gym. The training style with structured classes but overall schedule flexibility makes it easy to make sure I can get workouts in effectively.

I really appreciate that Doug gave me pricing information BEFORE my initial consultation. It’s so frustrating when a gym wants you to come in and do a consultation just for it to be wildly outside of your budget. Pride is transparent and very reasonable when it comes to pricing.

My only critic is that the first class “starts at 6am” but usually starts a few minutes after 6. This can sometimes cause me to need to leave prior to the end of the workout to make it to work on time, but overall not a big deal.

Overall I’ve had a great experience and I plan on sticking around.

Pride Conditioning is by far one of the best gyms in Charlotte. Coach Doug and Lindsey are consistently making sure your form is correct so you don’t hurt yourself (not many gyms continue to monitor your form). I joined about 3 months ago and can already see the progress.

You better come to work because the workouts are challenging. They offer 3 small group classes to choose from and the 12 noon class is the most competitive and motivating 🙌🏽

Thanks Coach Doug and Lindsey

Very small and tight knit community at this gym. Doug coached me for Olympic weight lifting and it sped up my progression immensely by having someone knowledgeable help with cues. Doug also helps with making a weekly workout schedule so its easy to follow along to make progress. 10/10

Best lifting gym in Charlotte! Has everything you need, whether you're new to lifting or have been competing for years. Great vibes, the owners are cool, and if you get the coaching you'll be learning from some of the best lifters in the world. I also highly recommend checking out the boxing side of the gym.

Great environment to work out at~ Everyone is friendly and the owners and even people at the gym have helped when I get confused at how to use some equipment and things like that. I have been powerlifting with Lindsay’s custom programming for maybe 3 or 4 months so far and it has been great! I started very unsure of what to do and struggled with being quite nervous to go to gyms for fear of doing the wrong thing and other worries as a super newbie (and was bored of doing cardio pretty much exclusively) and lifting has been fun and helpful 👍🏽. Big thanks to Doug and Lindsay + I really recommend this gym! :)

I've had the WORST experience of stopping this gym from drafting my account three months AFTER I've stopped going, well after my year! It's a very unprofessional practice of continously taking people's money after they've stopped patronizing your business. I've called several times and seems like no one knows how to stop their "system" from taking my money. So, obviously I had to what I had to do to stop it with my bank.
Buyer beware.

I want to give a big thank you to Doug. I live out of state but saw one of his YouTube videos and emailed him for some help with my rowing technique.

He was very kind to send me a detailed analysis of the video I sent and told me where I could make some improvements. He also gave me some ancillary exercises to do to improve my strength and technique.

I really appreciate his time and effort to help me out even though there is no way I could join his health club. Thanks Doug!

I did crossfit for years, and like most I ended up injured. All of Pride's workouts are well thought out and compliment each other, so you aren't ruining your joints from repetitive abuse. I have been a member since moving to Charlotte about 3 years ago. I go 3x-4x a week and have seen consistent improvement in both max lifts, overall strength, ankle and shoulder stability, and endurance.

Doug is the man. Not only is he a knowledgeable coach and trainer, he is a caring individual who is a resourceful and experienced point of reference. He has referred me mechanics, tire shops, restaurants, and even dog walkers. Part of his mantra for his gym is "daily improvement" and he practices what he preaches as he is always looking for the next newest thing to add to the gym, whether that is bringing events to the gym, having PTs come in for seminars, and resident neuromuscular therapist!

I am excited for what he has planned in the future yet somehow still nervous about the workout this afternoon. I am scared of ever moving away from Charlotte, as Pride Conditioning has set the bar too high.

Been coming to Pride for 6 years. Great programming and coaches. You get exposure to an amazing variety of workouts and components, along with technique feedback across the board. Although everything is scalable, you have to come ready to work hard, because the workouts aren't easy -- but there's a real sense of common purpose and togetherness at this gym, and if you embrace the challenge and stick with it, you'll quickly find yourself in amazing shape (and probably make some friends along the way).

What I most like is their dedication to form. Knowing they won't let me screw up my back in a workout is key. When your pushing yourself every day, it's key to keep healthy.

I've tried CrossFit in the past and loved it. When I moved away, I lost quite a bit of ground with my fitness (not that it was all that great to begin with). So I shopped around and found that PRIDE is very similar, with a focus on Athletic Conditioning. For less of the cost, I feel that I'm getting a "CrossFit" experience. I would recommend signing up for a year to get the best price/month. The class options are varied, which makes getting in your workouts easier. I'm not an avid athlete by any means, so having options to keep me interested is important. My favorite class is kickboxing, because who doesn't like to punch and kick stuff. With any class, I leave drenched and exhausted (like I've done something). If you're looking for a light cardio workout in a new, air-conditioned gym, this isn't it. The gym is equipped with ski and row machines, stationary bikes, kettle bells, hand weights, weight bars, jump ropes, boxing gloves and towels. You can also purchase water if you need it. There is a spot here for the most fit of warriors and the beginner (or alumni looking to get back at it). I also see couples and singles of all ages at this gym. Great little gym in the heart of Plaza Midwood behind Harris Teeter. Check it out!

Been working out in Charlotte for 10 years. I've been to at least 30 different gyms from the Y to crossfit and many places in between. I was a certified strength and conditioning coach, personal trainer, and I have a degree in Sports Medicine. It took me a long time to find Pride Conditioning, but I'm never leaving. The place is low maintenance. It's not a spa, it's a gym. You pull right up to a parking spot, you walk in, throw down your stuff, and you make the magic happen. It's the best of both worlds- motivation of a group, but lots of personal attention. Creative workouts including everything from tractor tires, sledge hammers, gymnastic rings, speed ladders, medicine balls, and of course the basics. You work hard and you go home having accomplished something you never knew you could do. That's it. It's a no BS atmosphere where you come as you are and you meet cool people because those are the kind of people that appreciate a place like this. The owners are good solid people who love what they do, lead by example, and are extremely knowledgeable. Pride is not a fad. It's functional fitness (Added Bonus: colorful commentary from Doug and pretty killer tunes).
