Clean space, great equipment, and an even better team. The staff are friendly, helpful, and truly care about your fitness journey. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a supportive, well-maintained gym.

This review is for the outdoor facilities, only.
We spent the day at the softball fields for a tournament this past weekend and I was incredibly disappointed. The organization of parking was a joke, and the facilities did not accomodate the amount of people that came into town for the day. This is not our first tournament, so we typically know to expect a few things. There was no place to setup a tent to create some shade, and boy was it hot! The consessions line was incredibly long and did not move quickly at all. That was the only location to get any food/drinks, so it was either that or take a risk on losing your parking spot to leave the park.
The ladies restroom was poorly maintained. The toilets looked like they had been through the apocolypse. And not all of the stalls locked, so you had to have a buddy to hold the door shut. This is not ideal in a normal situation, but when there are 14 teams of at least 10 girls each, and their families present, this is a disaster. The stalls did have toilet paper stocked, thank goodness!
The fields themselves are what is saving this review from being any lower than 3 stars. The fields were nicely maintained, and well-marked. The dugouts were nice and covered. The seating for the spectators at each of the fields varied from a wooded deck, to a hill, so that was not ideal for tents and various types of lawn chairs.

Have always had a great time playing soccer here. They have a great indoor turf field. Various leagues rent time to play various sports on the indoor field. Recently they installed brand new turf There are also basketball hoops, weight room and more.

My son attended the summer day camp at Prolific Park in 2024, and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience for our family. To this day, he still talks about how badly he was bullied by older kidsβhe was only 6 at the time and was repeatedly called a βfreak.β As a parent, itβs heartbreaking to see the lasting impact this experience has had on him.
While the check-in process appeared secure, pick-up was chaotic and felt completely unsafe. There was rarely a consistent staff member at the front deskβusually just a teenager using a walkie-talkie to call for your child. Meanwhile, adults were freely walking in and out with no one checking IDs or confirming who they were. On one occasion, they couldnβt even locate my sonβs group, and it took over 30 minutes to get him to me.
We had originally hoped this would be a great fit so he could join their after-school program in the fall, but instead, the lack of supervision, safety, and empathy completely destroyed that possibility. I would not recommend this camp to anyone who values a secure, supportive environment for their child.

For as much money it costs to do sports here, you would think the bathrooms would be better. They are always dirty, and half the doors do not have locks. For flag football and soccer, there is hardly any room for spectators/parents to sit.

Awful on communication, raising league rates post the start of leagues, difficult to work with and made it very clear time and time again our time was not respected.

The soccer practice fields are not fenced in, and surrounded by holly bushes with poison ivy sprinkled in. Parking is already bad, and some events are allowed exclusive pay-use of the lots on the weekend, forcing everyone else there for about twenty other games to scrounge for whatever nooks and crannies they can find. Come on, Proehl. You can do better.

My kids are the type that don't complain about anything, they are very happy-go-lucky. After spending a day at Proehlific they begged not to go back and told me they had a bad day there. I've never once heard them talk about a place like they did about Proehlific, it was terrible to hear how much they hated being there. One is messaging his friend as we speak that he had a "horrible time at Proehlific" :( They were bullied constantly by older kids, shoved into things and pushed to the ground multiple times, and when they had enough and asked to call me to pick them up (as I told them to do when I dropped them off if they needed me), the staff wouldn't let them call me. This is unacceptable from a place people trust to watch their children.
I will NOT be taking my kids back here and I urge all parents to think twice before taking their kids here.

My daughter (kindergarten) just started at PP a few weeks back and has been scared of the bigger kids. Each day someone walks her in to help build her confidence. This morning Ricky Proehl happened to be at the desk and saw my daughter was afraid and nervous. He stopped what he was doing and walked my daughter in holding her hand. That was such a great example of servant leadership! Thank you, Ricky! Great job. Also, your staff has been great during our first few weeks!

Nice facility, good equipment, nice clean locker rooms with saunas that get little use. But there are a few drawbacks to be aware of before signing up. It can be difficult to navigate and park on weekends when it is full of events. Tonight I went and it was completely closed with no warning for a charity event. While it's admirable they want to give back to the community, there had been no notification, no signage indicating it would be closed, it's not on the monthly calendar, not on the events page, and no email notifications. That's just poor planning and it's worth pointing out that members' time is important too. Teens from 13 up are allowed in the fitness center and I've been there several times on weeknights when the equipment gets crowded with groups of teens who do a lot of playing around. It's usually great, but when it's not, it's really not.

This place is a great idea that works out really well. We have been coming here since our kid was little, and the sports programs are terrific. He started out here and learned the fundamentals to transition into club soccer. We sent him to after school care and some of the summer camps, and we were always pleased.

My almost 6 year old son went to Summerblast camp this year for the first time. It was so great seeing him get so excited to go each day and boy, was he worn out and DIRTY after each day! So dirty that the tub had to be cleaned after his bath....for my son that's a rare thing, lol. He made new friends, loved his coaches, was introduced to sports that he hadn't played before (which are almost all sports...) and was so excited to go on his first field trip! The coaches there love the kids, and it's really cool seeing them interact together. It got him out of his comfort zone and boosted his confidence. We will for sure be sending him back again this year and in years to come. The way they did drop off and pick up made it a super smooth transition for getting in and out. I also never felt like my sons safety was in question which for someone who is sending their kid to camp for the first time, is big. Thanks Prohelific!

Proehlific Parkβs after-school program has been an absolute life saver this past year, not only for me as a parent, but for my child as well! He absolutely loves going to Proehlific, loves all of the sports and activities he gets to do, friends he has made, and most of all, LOVES the coaches and Angie! It is his favorite place to be and he canβt wait to continue going this summer for Summer Blast!

Want your child to come home hungry and tired every day? Begging to stay just a few more minutes? That's exactly what you get when your child attends Summer Blast! at Proehlific Park. Our very active 9 year old LOVES his time playing with the other kids and learning from the coaches. The staff follows safe protocols with masks, lots of hand washing and sanitizer, and daily temperature checks upon arrival.

Absolutely LOVE everything about Summer Blast, the after-school care and the STAFF! From the day my child started there to current Angie has been nothing short of amazing! She is honest, professional and loves each child as if they were her own! Also, want to give a special shout out to Coach Dev as he is an asset to the staff and beyond a wonderful role model for the kids! Happy to have my son enrolled here for the foreseeable future!

Iβm so glad that proehlific finally opened back up! My son missed it and we recently moved to stokesdale from asheboro and I was still having to take him to asheboro for child care until they opened back up. I work full time and safe, fun child care is so important to me. With Covid-19 going around sending him back was scary for sure, but proehlific took the same precautions as his previous daycare in Asheboro. Everyone has their temperatures checked everyday and no one is allowed past the front desk. In the afternoon for pick up no one goes in to get their child, they are escorted out by coaches to ensure there is the least amount of contact possible. They enforce hand washing and sanitizing stations are available for use. They take it very seriously and I feel safe sending my son there! Your kids will have an awesome time, they love the kids so much there. β₯οΈ

I enrolled my child in the summer camp program in February, however due to Covid-19 I decided the week I originally signed up for would be too soon to consider even though Proehlific Park was pushing forward with the program. I reached out to Angie Tallant by email 3 times to see if my deposit would apply to a future date starting on April 17th before getting an email back May 16th stating that she was having email issues and had been hacked. Funny, I had been receiving automated emails from her prior to her finally answering me personally? I did in fact get an answer to my question. I later decided on a new week and reached out to Angie on June 17th to see if there were still openings. She said there were and asked for my number and the best time to call me the next day, which I did. She did not call. I emailed again on the 18th to confirm they had availability and Angie again said she "had a note on her desk to call me." Two days later on the 20th I missed her call and within 30 min I called back- no answer. FINALLY on June 22nd she called and said she had been super busy and was just getting around to me. I again gave her the dates, which had been in the emails and texts, along with my credit card information to get my son registered. She said they had transitioned to a new system and was not able to process my payment at the time, BUT ASSURED ME he was on the roster and I would be charged the week before camp. When I got a call yesterday from Angie I was surprised as she started the conversation with the whole "I've been super busy and just getting around to me" spill. I asked if this was in regards to registering my son because we spoke 2 days ago and she told me he was good to go.... At that point she seemed really confused. I had to give her a run down of the dates (AGAIN) and the situation with the system. Why is this so hard?! I sent this information in writing more than a few times and having to track her down and constantly remind her of the camp dates is more than unprofessional. I asked at this point what precautions they would have in place for Covid-19 and she told me they were proceeding with 30 KIDS PER GROUP and NO FACE MASKS even after the Governor held off on phase 3 of re-opening due to the increase in cases and is now requiring masks be worn in public spaces. Angie said they were using the age as a guideline and that MOST kids were under 12 years old anyway. Not sure what difference that makes if the supervision is by adults and they are not distancing. So, after this circus of emails, texts, and calls to simply get my child on the calendar and finding out they would not be taking and necessary steps to keep him safe during the pandemic I asked (both text and email) for a refund of the $50 I paid in February. I, of course, had to follow-up with another text this morning to get the answer that it is "non-refundable, especially since they are holding camp." I absolutely would not recommend this camp to anyone. It has been beyond frustrating to register and to find out they are taking no Covid-19 safety precautions should be enough to make any parent think twice.

Knowing that my son is being taken care of by compassionate and professional care givers is a true blessing. He is treated like family and often doesn't want to leave when I pick him up. The investment the staff makes in these kids is not only physical, but emotional and spiritual.

I enrolled my boys for full day summer blast for 3 days. Proehlific claims to have all these game times and access to a ninja warrior course that the children will enjoy. None of these activities were performed and the few activities that my boys were a part of were not monitored and games were haphazard. Coaches and volunteers are all teens. No adult supervision. Coaches spend majority of their time on their phones, listening to music with disregard to children and their activities.
Children form groups and pick on the new summer blast members.
Facility is filthy and my son came home with lice.
To add even more insult, Angie - the new director of summer blast- called me to help address and fix the situation. Her help was to offer me to come back to the very facility that both my sons had a terrible experience.
A monetary compensation would have been in order for the trauma both my boys endured, having caught lice!
I paid $300 for 3 days of atrocious coaches, games, and volunteers.
Nothing in the summer blast articles are the depiction of the time my children were spending in a filthy facility.
Disgusted with the facility and Angie- who rushed me off the phone. She talked about herself long enough, but when it came time for me to speak she couldnβt get off the phone quick enough.
Disrespectful, rude and unbecoming of an individual in her position.

Wonderful facilities, kid friendly. My two kids enjoyed playing sports here, especially basketball. All except the fact that the staff werenβt always friendly. The adult fitness center is great. It is never super crowded so you do not have to wait on equipment. The weight area is kept clean and it seems like most members know how to clean up after themselves. The locker rooms are always clean as well. The parking lot is safe. The parking lot does get packed during the days on the weekends with sporting events. It can become hard for members to park even though member parking is marked off. It doesn't seem like it is enforced though. However, I just try to plan around this and go when they are not busy with sporting events. The staff is always friendly when I walk in the door and always greet me with a smile. I am glad I made the change here last May.

We are in volleyball with the NC Power Volleyball Club. We just had our first tournament and it was the best experience we have had with travel sports. Our coaches were all supportive of the players and the energy they bring to the game was enthusiastic. We even had a parent of another club compliment our group and tout how nice the Proehlific Park Facility is to play at.
We new it was important to have all certified coaches, and that's one of the reasons we chose this volleyball group. I highly recommend the facility and NC Power Volleyball Club and are glad to be a part of it.

The gym has great potential with good space and acceptable equipment, unfortunately it falls short due to bad ingrained culture. There are good and competent staff members, who try to make a difference, but they are outdone by some, who have been there "since the beginning." These members and staff have a huge sense of entitlement and you feel like an unwelcome guest.
In addition, after watching a trainer creep on a young lady working out there for the first time, I cannot recommend this place.
I have heard of and encountered how management does not honor agreements/contracts with staff and members, so beware!

Been a member of the Adult Fitness Center since it opened...very nice addition to a great facility!
Plenty of equipment to meet my needs and extra training and classes to suit just about anybody no matter what their fitness goals might be. Not crazy crowded most of the time which makes it great because I hate waiting on equipment.
Shame to see some of the reviews here where folks have had issues with management as I've never had a problem with anything I've needed help with.
The only complaint I have, and I know they try to deal with it, is with parking when they have sporting events going on. AFC signs are posted for reserved spaces yet visitors choose to ignore them even going so far as to take handicap spaces without handicap placards. Lazy and Rude are not a Handicaps Folks! Not enough to take away a star because if you plan around it it's not an issue.
Overall I'm super happy I signed up when it opened and still happy I renewed for 3 more years. Keeps me motivated to go and helps me try and fight back against father time as best I can.

Proehlific Park has been a great place for me in my life. I've grown there and made many memories at the park. I looked forward to going there everyday after school and seeing all the coaches and my friends.. We played the best games and Truthfully that's where my basketball began for me.. Now I'm on the Caldwell Middle School Basketball Team. Because the people at the park taught me how to play. The park is been a great place for me in my life and I look forward to going back there visiting some days I've made many friends there and it is been amazing in my life and has grown me into what I am today... meeting new friends and new coaches... Loved all 7 years at the park. Honestly I miss the park and the people but Ive moved on to other things now... Thank you for everything y'all have done for me. Wish everyone the best of luck!

A great place to get fit! Friendly, caring and helpful staff. Small enough so that it is not intimidating, yet large enough to have a great variety of classes and equipment to fit every age and interest.

HORRIBLE management from the top down! If I could give negative stars on this place, I would. Proehlific Park is the most dysfunctional, mis-managed circus that I've ever seen. They do a great job of masking over the poorly managed and trained staff with the outward appearance of smiling faces and seemingly organized atmosphere, but after having my kids in sports, after school programs and "summer blast" for several years now, we've had nothing but drama since day 1. The only reason we've subjected ourselves to the craziness is purely convenience. We have now decided to go out of our way to remove our kids from this terrible environment. It seems as though the staff isn't properly trained. The kids have been cursed at by staff members (even Ricky Proehl himself), and just an overall lack of professionalism by the staff working with the children. There's a lack of continuous structured activities for the kids... too much down time is a perfect setup for disaster (especially for the younger ones). For whatever reason, the directors and management are never held accountable for their mistakes or mishandling of situations. Issues are simply swept under the rug and allowed to continue. The staff could use a lesson in treating the kids like kids. Itβs not just the kids thoughβ¦ they have surprisingly demonstrated VERY unprofessional behavior towards parents. Iβm amazed that theyβve been able to stay in business. Iβve spoken to several other parents & kids that have had similar experiences. I believe other parents stay for the same reason we have for all of these years - convenience & location. If the summer program wasnβt booked at the Spears YMCA just down the road, we would have gone there. I hope this review serves not only as a warning to parents thinking of enrolling their kids, but as a letter of shame to Proehlific Park management for continuing to run such a dysfunctional business. Change is good, only if it makes a positive difference- and Iβd say itβs time for Proehlific to make some big changes.

Regarding adult fitness, facilities are great. Fitness on demand, cardio, weight training, etc is all here. Huge facility includes basketball courts and indoor field. I've been to Gold's, Rush Fitness, and other various gyms in the past, but this gym has a more laid back feel and a little more inclusive environment for those who are looking to get started in a gym routine. Also has equipment and classes for those who are looking for a new challenge.

The facilities at Proehlific Park are outstanding and the staff is courteous and knowledgeable. I have been a member of numerous health clubs over the years and this is the first time I have been a member of a gym that offers Fitness On Demand (which is awesome!) I love that all of the equipment is brand new and that there are plenty of cardio machines. I think it's great that my membership to the fitness center gives me access to the entire park. My experience has been excellent and I would highly recommend Proehlific Park.

The football/soccer field is by far the best in the area given its size and possibility to play the real thing. Other indoor facilities use boards and plexglass for a gimmick variation of soccer.
I love this place and has been my standard exercise during any kind of weather.
