I love this YMCA! It has a lot of machines and equipment that many other Y's do not have. I find it easy to get a machine or rack without too much hassle. Everyone who comes in the early mornings are very friendly!

This Y is the BEST! We are new to the area and happened to pick Sherwood Forest as our neighborhood. Found a house and then found the RRF YMCA. Had we had any idea how much we love our Y we would not have entertained any other neighborhoods as we are close enough to walk or bike. The staff is very friendly, the app is so easy to use and I can’t say enough good things about the classes. (Message me if you want more details)

I took a break from this place because of the lack of gym etiquette. Since they remodeled and freshened the equipment a bit, it is much better. The newer staff is much nicer and more helpful. People are putting weights back and not sitting on their phones. Members are not walking around naked anymore and I barely see PJs. The world is healing.

Best Y around! It's always clean and has nicer equipment than other locations in the area. They also have a great selection of classes and a hot yoga studio. The childcare staff is the friendliest. The same employees have been working childcare since I started coming in 2021.
My only complaint would be that it can get crowded, which makes it difficult to find parking. You can expect to spend a few minutes circling the parking lot at peak times of day. This is an issue at several YMCAs in town, and could be remedied somewhat by reopening the Fulton location.

Do not come here. It is terrible. The staff is not paid enough to care. The atmosphere is awful. It’s basically 90% old people and children. Back in the early 2010s when I first started coming to the Y, you had to go through a whole program with the Y once you turned 14 just to be allowed to use the free weights. Now children can come in here and play around on all the equipment and nobody cares.
I’ve seen children come in here and knock old people over on the track and run away. I’ve seen children throw trash at an old man in the locker room, nothing was done. I asked the staff at the front “why aren’t they getting kicked out for that?” their response was “I talked to them”. That is ridiculous. The truth is that because this is a “safe place” they can’t kick people out. So it’s a free for all. There was a man here who harassed all the women here. ALL THE WOMEN. And at one point he was suspended for a week and now he’s back.
It’s such a dumb layout too. Why would you put a track around the area where people are walking back and forth to get to equipment? It just creates a giant traffic jam where everyone gets in each other’s way.
The last time I came here was 2 weeks ago. I was minding my own business doing sit ups on the sit up bench. This was about 2 pm. This guy had his whole family crowded around him while him and his wife worked out. Now that’s fine but what made me fed up enough to stop coming here was his son started jumping around off of all the equipment around me like it was a jungle gym. All around my personal space. I get it child watch closes at 12 but this kid could get hurt. They put signs up saying not to do that sort of stuff but yet the kid gets to do whatever he wants because the staff doesn’t uphold the rules.
And that is the other thing: rules are broken constantly. Like putting your weights up when you’re done, wiping off equipment when you’re done, etc. The other day this guy had his shirt off doing T-Bar rows and was recording himself and nobody did anything.
This went from being my favorite place to being a place I hate due to the terrible management, terrible atmosphere, poor layout, and lack of upgrades or even maintenance of the existing equipment.
Oh and don’t even get me started on the parking. It’s packed in the mornings, it’s so hard to find parking 9am-11am and so guess what the Robinhood YMCA did? They decided to take out 30 parking spots on the side of the building to build a tennis court. So now it’s going to be even harder to find a parking spot in the mornings. Way to go guys you’ve run this place into the ground!

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by staff who are not only friendly and helpful but genuinely invested in your well-being. The team here goes above and beyond to create an atmosphere of belonging, encouragement, and care. Whether you’re brand new to fitness or a seasoned athlete, there’s a place for you. The variety of classes, equipment, and accessible programming make it easy to find something that fits your goals and lifestyle.
But what sets Robinhood Road YMCA apart is its unwavering commitment to serving the whole person and the broader community. This is an organization that understands its mission goes far beyond physical health. From youth mentorship to senior outreach, from food assistance programs to school readiness initiatives, they show up where it matters most.. for everyone.
This YMCA is a model for what community-centered leadership looks like. It is a space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life come together to grow stronger… in body, in mind, and in spirit. I’m proud to support them and grateful to be a part of this extraordinary place.

The Robinhood Road Family YMCA is a rare and special place… not just for its programs and facility, but for the people who fill it with energy, kindness, and connection. The gym itself offers something for everyone, whether you’re into free weights, group fitness, cardio machines, or functional training. But what truly elevates the experience is the community of members who show up day in and day out.
The people here are more than workout partners… they become friends, accountability partners, and in many cases, a kind of extended family. There’s a spirit of encouragement that’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it firsthand. You’ll find people from all walks of life supporting one another, sharing a laugh between sets, and celebrating progress together. It’s a space where bonds form naturally through shared effort and mutual respect.
The staff are phenomenal, always ready to help, and they clearly foster this culture of warmth and inclusivity. Beyond the fitness floor, the YMCA’s deep commitment to community service touches every corner of our region…. children, families, seniors, and those in need all benefit from their wide-reaching programs.
This YMCA is a true community anchor. It is a place where health is pursued, friendships are formed, and lives are enriched in every sense of the word.

I have been a member here for several years and it has gotten so bad I am about to change gyms. Nobody wipes off any equipment. People leave their stuff out all over the place instead of putting it back. Old people walk around and just stare at you. I even had one record me on his phone one time. I had another old person accuse me of being on steroids. Equipment is worn down and has not gotten replaced in a long time. There is still a giant hole in front of the dumbbells that hasn’t been fixed in 3 years all they did was put a mat over it. I don’t understand why they put new lights in but I can’t even get another handle on the hamstring curl machine? That handle has been torn off for 2 years now. Had a barbell the other day start sliding on the side because of not being maintained properly that is dangerous! I was squatting and felt the weight shifting to the side. It’s gotten so bad. The other day I got told “don’t slam your dumbbells on the track” while doing farmer carries with 100 pound dumbbells by the staff. Here’s an idea: HOW ABOUT YOU DON’T PUT A TRACK AROUND THE GYM WHERE PEOPLE ARE WALKING. Any other gym I could just walk with the dumbbells no problem. Today one of the trainers was doing step ups on the bench press. It’s a really nice powerlifting bench press but good on the trainer for going ahead and wearing that down too because it wouldn’t be Robinhood YMCA if the equipment wasn’t worn down.

I can't say enough about Robinhood Y. They offer Get Fit twice weekly for adults with IDD - a highlight of our daughter's week. Also recently I received the new membership wellness sessions. My trainer was Jalen. He was professional, knowledgeable, and made me feel like weight training was easily within my reach. It was a five star experience and I will definitely use him again.

Today was crazy I got to the gym early so I can get a back room spot because of my bad knees I have to do a lot of moderations. Im first in class room set up my mat and weights in place when to the restroom 🚺 really quick and as Im walking back I saw this lady moving all my stuff from where I set them up at. I ran back and try to stop her by asking her why she was doing that for and to please not to much my stuff. One of the trainers there saw or heard us crossing words back and forth and enter the room and explained to him what the lady had done and I requested her to give me some room because she was setting up all over my space.
I walked out the room and they had a talk. This lady humiliated me by telling others not to station next to me and that she will get them a matt and put them in front of me or away from me. I take this as bulling and she has no right. I love this place and this is my home Y, so I should be treated with respect just like I treat everyone else.

Lots of equipment! No one ever looks up and speaks when you walk in so I'm pretty sure if you don't have a membership you can still go work out here. The craziness of kids playing on and with machines along with running and chasing each other is a distraction and seems dangerous to the people serious about a workout. Where are the rules, people in charge etc etc. I mentioned this to three friends that have worked out in this location. They do not know each other and said this... Pick another location - there are no rules for serious work out clients there - it is madness - seems like the clientle is open to kids running a muck, etc.

I enjoy the Y, hence 4 stars. Be aware of 10 day cancellation policy. I just cancelled due to a hurt shoulder. Apparently, I paid a $50 start up fee and now get to pay a $50 exit fee. This negative experience may linger long enough to make me hesitate on re joining after shoulder improves. 🤷

Will look into other locations to join, if I do. I have been a member for years with my family too at the Triad locations(my maiden name may been the problem but seem not). It is an awesome gym. It has a variety of classes of varied intensity and styles and great equipment options for all types of workouts. The staff and the trainers are always super welcoming and I am looking forward to going their not just for workouts but also for the feeling of community and belonging it provides. I loved all the classes I tried, with Barre and Cardio Barre being my favorites, Body Combat most cardio intense, and Core, Metabolic Effect and Sh’Bam are awesome overall workouts. I haven’t yet tried some other general and many yoga and hot yoga classes that are on the schedule and neither i tried a number of bootcamps that seem quite riveting, so there is still a lot to explore.

Russ, the older man working the front desk, doesn’t speak to me when I check in but speaks to everyone else. That really bothers me. I hate people who pick and choose who they want to be friendly to, it’s just like picking favorites in high school. Overall a good facility. I do wish they would turn down the music (everyone has earbuds), close the door to the men's locker room (I don't want to be seen), and I wish they would tell certain class instructors to stop yelling so loud (some of us want to be in our own head space).

I LOVE the Robinhood YMCA. The only thing I can’t stand is that the spin classes have the same soundtrack and virtual videos almost every single class. I cycle a lot and this has been going on for months. The instructors virtually and in person are great but listening to a broken record is annoying. I love spin classes but this issue makes me not want to go anymore. This could be a quick fix and hopefully this is changed in the near future. Other than that I love this Y.
