Ive been to at least 30 to 40 base gyms and this is the worst.
This is because of the state of disrepair this gym is in. It is a sanitation hazard as most of the toilets are broken as well.

Few months back, I heard a rumor that some folk were blasting the gym. What? Been around and seen lots of gyms from all the services and this one is the best. Cardio, racks, free weights, courts, a locker roomer that's clean, cool, responsive staff.
Track adjacent, 24/7, even for retirees. So lucky to have this...

Very funny to see these kids just be plopped into a 4x4 play pen with some discarded toys strewn about, but it was definitely distracting when I was working out in front of it and the kids kept going “mama…mama…” “daddy!” - calling out for their parents lol
Other than that, this gym has A LOT of equipment, but is always packed after work. Would definitely recommend going after hours.
The female bathrooms are gross and stuffy. No toilet paper in most stalls, and they just had a small open bin in front of the stalls to put used pads and tampons in. They have a sauna though.

You're better off to go to a gym off base. These "airman" don't even keep the gym open long enough for the people who actually work to come in and work out after they get off work.

My husband, 61, disabled retired Army vet, called and SJAFB was giving shots. No age was specified. He got his at Covid shot at VA. I am 63 and disabled. After getting up at 4AM and more than an hour of standing, a soldier asked what was my risk. He actually said, "All these people behind me gave the correct answer." I said I've had pneumonia. He said, "Wrong answer." and turned me away! I still haven't gotten a Covid shot! I only followed instructions. What did I do wrong?!!

The gym is ok! I wish the staff would clean the dust off the bottom of the machines in the cardio area! They use to clean the machines all the time.

They use to offer several different classes but now it seems they done away with them. I don't understand why. They seem to have several people behind the desk but unable to answer questions. I often wonder why none of the staff is trained to run the classes. I don't know if money is the issue but I think if you had the the airmen trained properly they could run the classes.
Running virtual reality workouts don't work for everyone. Some people need someone to push them along so they will try harder. I truly hope things will work out and bring back the workout classes.
