By combining boxing with strength, speed, yoga, Pilates, and agility training Southpaw Training Center will up your fitness level whether you’re an elite athlete, a weekend warrior, or just someone who wants to be in the best shape of their life.
Owner/Boxer/Trainer Jamie McGrath won the New York Golden Gloves 3 times and became a world boxing champ after winning in Finland. Training and helping clients unlock their mental and physical power is her passion. She has worked with professional and collegiate athletes, children as young as 6, and men and women who just want to lose weight and be in top physical condition. Clients achieve results they never thought possible.

All the instructors at South Paw, are enthusiastic in their instruction; excellent at offering modifications as needed; and have been friendly and receptive to my clarifying questions in practice. The boxing and yoga classes can stand alone but work great in tandem with Pilates for a solid work out and stretching and stability work. South Paw is perfect fitness at any level with individualized attention that can't be found at bigger gyms.

It’s a great place to get an amazing workout and make new friends. Every time I go there it kicks my butt but afterwards I feel very refreshed and energized. I am glad I got to experience this type of activity and keep doing twice a week. If you want to experience new type of workout that a place for you. I highly recommend this place if you’re new to boxing or advanced! Me and my girlfriends were looking for place to start, we went to a few boxing places, but really liked Southpaw Training Center: the first visit is FREE! The owner Jaime was very helpful, sweet and professional explaining us all details and making sure we got it right! They let us borrow the gloves and suggested the size and brand for the future purchase. Now we go on regular basis! Everyone is very cool and you definitely will experience a friends/family atmosphere there no matter how long you are in boxing! Great for any age, sex and level of experience! I highly recommend this place for your exercise and stress relief!

I recently enrolled my 13-year-old son, Ivan, in his first boxing class at Southpaw Training Center, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. Ivan was both impressed and excited from the moment he stepped into the gym. The atmosphere was welcoming and energized, setting the perfect tone for newcomers.

The coaches, Jay and Lexi, were exceptionally nice and made a significant impact on Ivan's first session. Their attentiveness and enthusiasm for each person in the class were evident, making everyone feel valued and supported. Jay and Lexi's ability to connect with the students, regardless of their skill level, was truly impressive.

As a concerned mom, I had my reservations about Ivan participating in boxing and potentially sparring. However, after speaking with Jay, my worries were alleviated. He took the time to explain the discipline and respect that boxing instills in its practitioners, which helped me see the positive aspects of the sport. His thoughtful and thorough approach provided the reassurance I needed.

Stopped in using ClassPass for the Restorative Yoga class while I was in town. Noelle was sweet and friendly, and I enjoyed the class itself very much. The yoga studio is a small, shared space in next to Southpaw Training Center. It is inside the chiropractor’s office next door. Legitimate boxing gym with unparalleled coaching and a unique family atmosphere. All the trainers and coaches are awesome at teaching proper technique while ensuring you push yourself to have a great workout. This isn’t your “big-box,” corporate gym like Title or 9Round, where the “coaches” don’t actually teach (or even know) proper technique. There are many levels to this sport, and the coaches at Southpaw are certainly high-level! In the same breath, it’s not a typical hardcore boxing gym which caters to just seasoned veterans, which can be intimidating and rough around the edges, particularly for folks new to the sport. Rather, Coaches Jamie, Lexi, Jay, Zadih, and Crystal offer the perfect mix of tenacity and charisma, marrying world-class championship experience with appreciation for all levels of skill that walk in. All of them are seasoned, technically sound, passionate, motivational, and overall just top-notch at what they do. Boxing veterans and newbies alike will feel welcomed and respected, challenged and inspired to succeed in and out of the ring. The staff and members here are truly like a second family, and I thank God for first showing up several months ago — I wish I would’ve started sooner! But make sure you come with humility and be prepared to give your workout everything you’ve got, because like Coach Jamie likes to say, “if it were easy, everyone would do it!”

Its been one year since I discovered Southpaw Training Center, and it has been an absolute game-changer for my fitness routine and mental wellness. This unique combination of boxing, yoga, and Pilates (at the attached Live Free Yoga Studio) offers the perfect balance of strength and serenity at ANY fitness level.
The coaches and owner/coach, Jamie McGrath are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Each coach seamlessly blends the intensity of boxing with the mindfulness of yoga and the core-strengthening benefits of Pilates. Their expertise ensures that each class is challenging, yet accessible to all fitness levels and safety is a priority. Humor is always a part of each class and we are encouraged not to take ourselves too seriously, something that has carried over into my personal life as well.
The facilities at SPTC are top-notch. The studio is spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the necessary equipment for a fulfilling workout. The ambiance is serene, creating a peaceful and inviting environment that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the practice. It’s all in the extra details, for ex; -cold lavender and eucalyptus cloths are provided at the end of each yoga/Pilates class!
What sets SPTC apart is the holistic approach to fitness and well-being. The combination of boxing, yoga, and Pilates not only helps improve physical strength, flexibility, and balance but also promotes mental clarity, stress reduction, and overall mindfulness. It's a complete mind-body experience that leaves you feeling rejuvenated and empowered.
But for me, above all else … it’s the community and support that is different than any other “gym” I’ve been to. Everyone is incredibly supportive and welcoming. The instructors and members create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages growth and personal development. I started with only Pilates for months as I was scared of the workout that comes with the boxing classes. Once I finally bit the bullet and attended my first class, I was the only women (classes are kept at only 8 attendees so coaches can give you their full attention) I didn’t know any of the guys in class that night. Every single one of the 7 was high-fiving me, cheering me on, using my name (I couldn’t remember one name) and made me feel included and confident and strong. I literally cried happy tears. It was such an positive experience. I was hooked after that!
Since joining, I have noticed significant improvements in my overall fitness and well-being. Not only have I become stronger and more flexible, but I have also experienced a greater sense of calm and mental clarity. The workouts are challenging, yet invigorating, and I always leave feeling accomplished and energized. SPTC got me off the couch - literately. First class is free !

I signed up for a class at premium pricing, $30 for yoga, so I was expecting premium service. The class was canceled and I was notified via an automated email without any details on rescheduling or why it was canceled. The ownership was then on me to figure out how to reschedule or get a refund. I have attended fitness classes across the country and at this price point, I've never been in a similar situation when the studio cancelled. My expectation is the studio would reach out directly to apologize and then offer clear instructions on options.

I wanted to join a woman owned boxing gym and was so lucky to find Southpaw Training Center. Coach Jamie is a true inspiration! She pushes you to be better each and every training and does not let you slack or give up. She tries to cultivate a true champion’s mindset in you and provides support on the journey to becoming a real boxer. I had my first boxing class today and it was freaking awesome! I left the gym with so much positive energy. Everyone is very cheerful and make you feel at home. Our coach was top notch with so much patience and great teaching methods.

The wellness studio is amazing! I attended a flow to zen yoga class taught by Noel (tofu Barbie). Our 14 year old nephew started going here in February and the change in his physical abilities and confidence in just 4 short months has been amazing. It’s a bit pricey @ 120$ a month. But you can do single classes for 30$ to get a feel for the place. I’m brand new to boxing and I’ve gotten a good work out and the trainers and other classmates are very supportive.

This place is more than a gym! It’s a wellness facility! There are boxing, yoga and Pilates classes. There is a shop with scrubs, soaps, etc that the owner, a female champion boxer, makes. There is a chiropractor. They host workshops and events to help you in any facet of life. It’s not a gym or an exercise place, it’s an experience! ❤️

Southpaw boxing is incredible. It has a very family vibe, we are all in it together to get more fit and have fun, from age 6 to 77. Coach Jamie has a super legit boxing resume, and brings a ton of energy to the workouts. Want to be trained by an Olympic caliber athlete? Yeah, this is your chance. As the oldest person who works out with Jamie at Southpaw Boxing, I have found her to be very adaptive for age limitations and creaky joints. She varies the exercises from day to day to give some variation.
They have a family atmosphere there with the other friendly people I have met. Jamie often sponsors parties where you can meet other clients that come at a different time. You are also welcome at a different time if you miss your regular slot. I enjoy going to another class period to meet some new people.

I love the Southpaw Training Center! This is the trainer, gym and workout class perfect for me. The classes are fun, motivating, and they work (and you can’t beat the price). Being a ‘has-been athlete’, I needed a challenging workout that wouldn’t burn me out as I was trying to get back into my old shape.
