OMG this place rocks. Love the workout. Especially the yoga. That’s what makes this different than places like Orange Theory. And spin instead of treadmill is a big win for me with knee issues.

This studio was amazing. They all accepted myself and my sister with open arms and full hearts. I then went through a struggle and the previous owners were fully understanding. I could not be there to work out because of my personal life but wanted my sessions to stand when I was able to come back because I loved the community so much. They said absolutely.

This week I was finally ready and apparently new owners are in charge. The previous owners understood life circumstances and helped their community. The new owners are all about taking your money and not caring about you as a person. They told me without remorse they are not honoring the extension I was given on those sessions due to a life speed bump. Do not support these heartless people, as owners.

This review should not reflect the instructors….who were and are amazing. This review is for the new owners who will not be there for their community in a time of need, ever.

Such an awesome place! The instructors and management do a great job of making everyone feel welcome. I like that no matter where you are in your fitness journey, the staff push you to do your best while being there to support you! What really sets this place apart is the management. They keep the place clean and organized and have made some great new additions! You can tell the team behind the scenes genuinely cares about the place and the customers. The staff and management are responsive, professional, and incredibly supportive. I’ve been loving the recent events happening lately as well! I highly recommend!

I have been a member at SPENGA Chapel Hill since they opened in 2020. The workouts continue to challenge me every single session. I love the format of 20 minutes spin, 20 minutes strength and 20 minutes of yoga. The owners, staff and instructors are all very welcoming, encouraging, and approachable. The studio is always impeccably clean and the equipment is well maintained. They offer classes at convenient times from early morning, midday and evenings. I am so happy I found this community!

I had been out of the gym for many years when I randomly decided to sample gyms in the area to see if I could find something that would get me back into it. SPENGA was the first place I tried and from day one, I was hooked and couldn’t wait to go back! Thank you, Laura, for being so kind and helpful that first day when I was nervous (never having done spin or any group fitness before, other than yoga!) It isn’t just Laura, all the staff are amazing and the workouts are challenging and varied. Never boring. You work hard but also have fun :)

TWO YEAR UPDATE: Editing to add that I’m still loving SPENGA and I’m 350+ sessions in! Somehow the strength portions are still giving me moves I’ve never tried before. They also mix up formats nicely. I go several times a week and it’s always a fun challenge! All of the instructors are great, so there’s consistency. Thank you to the whole team for this awesome space!

I am so glad I discovered SPENGA. I love how they organize their classes (20 min spin, 20 min strength, 20 min yoga). It is JUST PERFECT. Right when I am exhausted from spin, its time to move on. The instructors are the BEST in the world ( I've never felt so understood/heard AND inspired to be my best at the same time). I'm in the best shape I've _ever_been in and I do owe a significant part of that to the community in SPENGA -- the other people in the classes are so friendly and NOT competitive at all) I've finished over 300 sessions and am so looking forward to the next 300.

SPENGA Chapel Hill is a wonderful place! The staff is friendly and supportive, and there is a feeling of community and inclusivity no matter your age or fitness level. The studio/facility is always immaculate, the facilities are spa-like in their design, but it is the kindness and sincere warmth of the staff that I think makes SPENGA Chapel Hill special. SPENGA is by far my favorite group workout class! I love the concept of splitting your workout into the 3: spinning, strength, and yoga. Love the mix of Cardio, Strength, and Core/Stretching (Yoga). Super effieicnt way to get it all in and the people in the studio (both employees and members) are super approachable and chill. I go with my wife, and daughter, and will bring our son once he is old enough. Feels good to spend time together and start the day strong.
Update 12/9/24 - Aside from the above, the team there keeps it fun with all sorts of events and challenges throughout the year which helps keep things fresh and fun. Some of these are ride competitions, strength challenges (vs yourself), and now we're all doing Holiday Bingo doing all sorts of things. Always fun.

This is SUCH a fun workout class!! I could not recommend it enough! When I started I was doing almost nothing to stay fit, and now I come to SPENGA about 3 or 4 times a week. I have seen my strength and health improve dramatically over the past 6 months. Everyone is super nice and they make it extremely accessible for any and all skill levels. Definitely worth at least taking a free trial class to see how you like it!!!

SPENGA could be summarized in one sentence: “mens sana in corpore sano”; a Latin phrase which captures the idea of “a healthy mind in a healthy body”.

I’ve always thought the perfect workout would be 20 min of cardio, strength, and yoga but it was soooo hard to motivate myself to do that on my own. I was so excited to find out that SPENGA exists!! All of the instructors are lovely, and it’s such a supportive environment, clean space, the showers are nice. I love that I can schedule ahead on the app so it’s blocked off on my calendar - it’s the only way I’ve been able to successfully keep it up. My only issue is how loud the music / sound is (and I know it’s not just me since my watch alerts me every class) but I wear earplugs and it is 100% fine. If you’ve been waiting to get back into a routine and dig the structure, do yourself a favor and try it!!!

I came across SPENGA on ClassPass, and it's my absolute favorite studio to book! The class has all of the elements I want in a workout - cardio (but not too much), strength training, and recovery/stretching! This review is long overdue! I joined Spenga in 2021 and it truly is the “best werkout ever.” The combination of 20 minutes each of spin, strength, & yoga is challenging & fun. The instructors are hands on so you don’t keep making the same mistakes (& prevents injuries), the place smells amazing, the members are friendly, there are frequent social events and activities to keep you motivated to reach your goals. Also, Spenga is so clean and each person has a station with weights that only they use before they are cleaned again.

I've done all types of workouts and played sports all my life. SPENGA is a unique new workout concept that I haven't done before where you do 20 minutes of spinning interval cardio workout (SP=Spin), followed by 20 minutes of strength (EN = Strength) based movements and then finishing with 20 minutes of Yoga (GA = Yoga) allowing you to stretch out all the muscles while you are still warm (SP+EN+GA). The workout just makes sense all wrapped in a 1 hour session and leaves you feeling accomplished and refreshed. It is low impact so kind on the body, they offer lots of modifications for all different fitness levels and held in a warm and inviting environment. My husband, myself and out teen daughter all workout at SPENGA so it is designed for all.

Update: I’m now well into year two with Spenga Chapel Hill and going strong. It’s the only workout that has kept me engaged and coming back for more.

This place is just lovely. The staff are welcoming, kind, and motivating, and the facility is spotless and beautiful. The 60-minute workout is varied and I always get so much from it. It helps tremendously that it's broken into 20 minute sets so I never get bored. I do not feel out of place here - there are folks of all ages, shapes, sizes, and genders and you only compete with yourself. Highly recommend!

I am really loving going to SPENGA. I hadn't been to a gym in many years and was initially looking for just spin classes but decided to try out the 2 class trial deal. So glad I did, and I signed up for a membership right after my second class! The workouts go by so fast when it's broken up into 20 min chunks. All the instructors have been kind, helpful, enthusiastic, and motivating! I love SPENGA! I’ve had a really hard time building a healthy, flexible relationship with exercise, but the instructors at SPENGA made me love working out (for the right reasons!) again. I’ve seen marked improvements in my mental and physical well-being since starting my membership.

I left "The Orange Place"(you know who I'm talking about) to come to Spenga and I will never go back. Much less strict about coming in late, much more willing to work with clients who have busy schedules. The workouts are balanced and fun and the trainers give good instruction but don't push you to the point of getting hurt (which happened to me at "The Orange Place"). I love the yoga/stretching at the end which has served to resolve some of the muscle tightness that happens with hard workouts and I think (and hope) it will help prevent injuries in the future. We always have different workouts, different music (some days are such good music!). And the best is the shower at the end with a super fluffy towel they provide for you and really high end shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer provided in their showers (3 showers available!). It feels like I get to go to a spa every morning while I'm getting ready for work. Best of all, everybody is friendly. Bonus: green is such a better color than orange!

Update 12/31/22: Still my favorite studio and it’s been a year and a half! I’m never bored and in fact I look forward to my workouts every day! I love the folks who work and workout there. And I’m so much stronger now, I feel so much better. It’s really an awesome place <3

If you’re questioning whether or not you should try a first SPENGA class…DO IT! I’ve loved it since my first class - the instructors, the studio, the structure of the workout…it’s everything I wanted in a workout. I specifically love that there’s 20 minutes of yoga in the workout. At other studios / if I do my own workout it’s hard to motivate myself to stretch which then leads to be being injured..but at SPENGA it’s incorporated in. I can’t say enough good things about SPENGA!

I've been looking for a new gym home for a long time, and I've found it at SPENGA Chapel Hill. Gyms often promise a sense of community, but this place truly delivers. The classes are small, which allows the instructors to walk around and help individuals with their form. This is super important for individuals of any age, and for those of us with injuries, inflammation, or aging joints, it's especially important. I love feeling safely challenged in every class. I love the music, the energy, and the passion of the instructors. The classes are attended by people of all ages, but no one feels too young or too old. The only competition is against yourself, and everyone there wants you to become your best self. If you're looking for a clean, challenging, safe community gym, look no farther.

I generally enjoyed this studio! I didn’t get bored with the workouts and it was easy to navigate. Only issue I had was that they weren’t flexible with extending my last credit even though I couldn’t go for a couple weeks and asked in advance, so I wish they were more flexible.

After my first 2 free classes, I joined this family IMMEDIATLEY. They are super body inclusive and positive, care about their local community, supporting social justice causes with their money, oh and A GREAT WORKOUT. I've been teaching fitness (weight lifting ) for 5 years now and this workout is safe and effective. Combining cardio, HITT, functional strength training and yoga to perfect a 60 minutes session. I've been a high school athlete, in the military, a member of at least a dozen different gyms, and the same amount of teams and I have still never been apart of a fitness group so supportive in my life. The classes are a perfect level of difficult while also being scaled to each individual's needs and the progression is insanely satisfying. I can't recomend Spenga highly enough and im glad i didn't let my big man gym lifter attitude stop me from coming to a class with my friend one day because signing up was the best decision i've made all year!

Don’t even get me started… I am in LOVE with Spenga. I played sports in college and wanted to find something that made me work as hard and be as active but also add in more recovery, which I was never good at. Spin gets your heart pumping and gets you moving before going into the strength. Personal favorite is total body. Yoga at the end is the perfect way to end with some low impact exercise then some stretching. I have never left a class without feeling like I got an amazing workout in. Also the staff is so nice!! They knew my name after just one class which is something seriously special!

SPENGA Chapel Hill has been awesome. Not only is it a great cardio workout but the weights leave me sore for days. I love it when they use the TRX straps. The yoga at the end of a SPENGA class is a perfect way to stretch out and feel better. SEPNGA is a great all-encompassing workout to target cardio, strength, and flexibility.

I have loved going to SPENGA classes. I signed up for 8 classes/month after my first class because I enjoyed it that much. 20 minutes of spin, strength, and yoga feels like the perfect balance. Spenga is amazing! I have been searching for a workout studio to call home after moving to the area, and I am so happy I found Spenga. It is the perfect mix of a workout--cardio, strength and yoga in every session. I have never done spinning regularly before and I can't believe the difference I've seen after just 5 classes. 20 minutes of each exercise is the perfect amount of time. No boredom, you work really hard and before you know it that sequence is over, and the total hour just flies by.

I am only a few weeks into Spenga but really love it! I am overweight and have back issues and this hasn’t been a problem at all. The instructors are great about giving modifications and really encouraging. I joined because my bestie was a member and loved it. Since then, I’ve talked about it so much that 4 of my friends have joined! I love that it’s broken down into 20 minutes of each exercise and joke that it’s so awesome because there is no scenario where I could do an entire hour of any one of them!

I recently joined Spenga and wow, SO glad I did! The class setup (20 mins each of spin, hiit, yoga) is perfect for those of us who get “bored” with an hour of the same thing. The staff and instructors are perfectly upbeat and encouraging (even at the crack of dawn)!

It’s a welcoming atmosphere, super clean, Covid safe.

All levels of strength and fitness can participate & benefit from the workouts. Everything is scalable!

I highly recommend giving a class a try (first one is free, why not?!) I think you’ll love it! I certainly do!

So, tonight I took my first class and I love the fact that as I walked up to the door there was a sign written saying “Welcome Tashera” sooooooo dope! Anywho I’m not a worker-outer and I’m pretty sure I’m out of shape fortunately with my genes you can’t tell 🤣🤣..... nevertheless I HAD A GREAT TIME!!!!!! And I’ll definitely be back as a continuing member! And it’s only 10 mins away from my house, I wish I had known about them when they opened last month! I’m literally telling everyone I know about them! Thanks Lauren and the whole SPENGA team that was there tonight !
