SPENGA's 60 minute workout combines:

-20 mins of spin or cycling for cardio
-20 mins of HIIT strength training / weightlifting to build lean muscle, promote bone density and better joint health
-20 mins of yoga for flexibility and better range of motion

Our primary demographic is women 40 - 60 years old, who want more energy, better strength, and more longevity. Our workout helps fight menopause symptoms.
You'll see measurable results quickly, and amazingly, you will rarely feel sore afterwards, due to the amount of stretching we work in.

Our service is personalized - we know your name, we encourage you, we'll coach you on proper technique, we'll text you to keep you engaged, we'll celebrate your milestones.

I went to Spenga in North Raleigh for the first time after seeing it on Facebook, and honestly — I did not die! 😂

The class surprised me in the best way. It’s a perfect mix of cycling, strength training, and yoga, and the transitions kept me moving without feeling overwhelmed. The instructor, Dana, had great energy, the music was on point (each song matched the RPMs!), and she kept encouraging us to change the word “hurt” to “challenge.” That stuck with me.

I pushed myself, finished strong, and left feeling amazing — not tight, not sore, just proud of myself. The studio is clean, the staff is welcoming, and they even have a nurse discount ($119/month for heroes), plus nutrition and body scan perks.

If you’re thinking about trying Spenga, do it. You’ll walk out sweaty, smiling, and surprised at what your body can do. 💪

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE SPENGA north Raleigh! I have never liked exercise and could never keep a gym membership because I either felt too out of shape to go or too dumb because I didn’t know how to use the machines or correct exercises to do for an efficient workout. But being here, I’ve learned confidence, consistency, and the power of giving my 100% for an hour to change my life. I’m down 80lbs and have never felt better physically or mentally. The staff feels like family, the place feels like home, and I couldn’t recommend it more. Thankful I have found what works for me and people who have my best interest at heart. They always say “give your 100, no matter if it looks different today than it did yesterday” & “you’ve shown up for yourself and that’s what matters.” I couldn’t have done it alone and glad I didn’t have to.

This routine is exactly what I need for my health: aerobic segment near 30 mins. (arrive some mins. early to get that), weight training to reverse osteopenia (precursor for osteoporosis), and stretching my muscles with yoga to max my flexibility. Always a great workout! I love just showing up, not having to think, and being told what to do. Workouts are varied; it keeps my attention and me continuously sweating.

It feels like a community too. Everyone that works with SPENGA (owners, instructors, and front desk) make it a priority to learn people's names and are genuinely friendly. Unbeknownst to me, one of the owners helped me with getting my membership set up. Saw her months later and she greeted me by name; I was completely floored that she would remember. Needs new ownership. I went to Spenga in Apex on and off for a couple of years and I was hooked. The Spenga franchise has a lot to offer. However, after a recent divorce and uprooting back to Raleigh, I was extremely let down. My experience was night and day compared to the Apex location. The energy all around is low and there were only two instructors that I liked. So on top of limited class times offered and only being open 6 days a week vs 7, I was paying 30$ a month more just because the Raleigh franchise was struggling. I was not only getting less class time options with fewer opening days, the instructors were also below par. To top things off, a spa moved in next door and instead of fully soundproofing your studio, you kept the music really low during the workouts??! People want to come to spin to enjoy high energy, morale, and not have to pay top dollar because YOUR location not only shares a wall with a med spa, but also has low excitement. I was really bummed out that my experience could be of such a night and day difference. Lastly, put some cameras in. When the owners attended classes they were spot on. However , on the normal days, the exact same instructors were awful. It's really a shame to have to post this as I never write reviews... but I'm extremely disappointed at how two locations could be SUCH different experiences. Lastly, several of their bikes don't work properly and even though you bring it to their attention, they make no changes which adds to the irritation since they are 30$ more a month than the other local Spengas.

Hi all, this is an update to my initial review from almost a year ago. As I’ve completed over 100 classes and my wife has surpassed 350, I’ve been reflecting on the specific impact Spenga has made in my life.

I could spend time talking about how I’ve never gone this long engaging in physical activity without getting injured since I was a senior in high school. I could talk about how my horribly flat feet no longer seem to hurt, thanks to over 500 miles spent in Spin. I could mention how the shoulder injury I had when I started Spenga has healed itself, thanks to Yoga. I could talk about the 130-hour rule and how, at hour 100, I’ve already seen an unmistakable transformation in my body shape, cardiovascular endurance, and strength—thanks to Strength training. I could mention the 14 pounds I’ve lost, which have stayed off, even through cheat weekends or holidays.

I could also spend time talking about finding my tribe—the time spent in both lighthearted and meaningful personal conversations with the trainers, owners, and fellow Spenga members alike. I could talk about how I’ve become mentally healthier, stronger, and disciplined enough to maintain a regular, healthy diet—and how even when I indulge, I make better cheat choices that leave me satisfied without the guilt afterward. I could talk about how, when I look in the mirror, I now see myself as a fit, healthy person—not perfect, but someone who cares enough about his health journey to incorporate it into his busy life as a business owner, parent, and partner.

I could go on for hours about myself—it’s my favorite subject—but more than anything, I’d rather spend my time talking with you about your personal health journey as you sit next to me on the spin bike, just before Lauren, Levi, Dana, Tina, Jeannie, Emily, or Michelle turn down the lights, turn up the music, and the fun begins.

I've had a great experience at SPENGA North Raleigh! The staff and facilities are wonderful. I joined when I was 7 weeks postpartum and it was a perfect return to exercise for me. It's low impact and very easy to modify exercises during the strength portion of class. Went for the first time last week, and it was such a positive experience! The facilities and equipment are state of the art. I really appreciated the video playback during the strength portion of the workout. It showed each move being demonstrated so I could make sure my form was correct.The format of the workout kept me engaged, was challenging (in the best way), and adaptable for all levels of fitness. Great, thanks for the invitation to elaborate on my feedback. No need to text.

First- you seem to be making a point about how an exception was made for one client, but not another. Clearly shows that you do not strictly adhere to your “protocol” which doesn’t make the way this was handled any better.

Second- It’s great and considerate that you suggest a check in time that accounts for all levels of familiarity with the equipment and paperwork. However, I can assure you that it would not have taken 10, much less 20, minutes for me to sign a waiver and set up a bike. I was new to Spenga, not spinning or fitness classes. In the event that it truly would not have been possible for me to do this before the session started, the bike only accounts for the first section of the class. I could have easily participated in the other two.

Third- In the event that you are truly interested in having potential clients return to your business after being turned away, some retraining of front desk staff/ management is needed. As someone who chose your studio out of the dozens of options, reserved & paid for a spot, and commuted from work through rush hour traffic to attend, I did not appreciate how I was treated. Common courtesy would have been to kindly inform me of your policy and options at the reception desk. Instead a staff member blocked me at the door as they proclaimed that I could not enter because it was 5:47 and class was scheduled for 5:45. Wasn’t even met with a greeting, which was lovely. Did hear the word protocol at least 10 times while standing in the cold though! Safe to say I will not be back, thank you very much.

Fitness is something that we actively choose to make a part of our lives, the last thing anyone needs is to be met with discouragement. With so much competition from all the fitness studios in the area, customer service & how you treat each person that walks (or tries to walk) through your doors is important.

I am so happy I tried this place out. It's been quite a while since I exercised at a gym but thought this sounded like a fun way to workout and get some results! I LOVED how clean and organized everything was from the moment you get assigned a locker to use to finding your seat to spin on. Jennifer and Theo were so welcoming and supportive and showed me around the facilities. I loved how you get 3 circuts to work out on and get a full body workout. We started with spin, moved to weights and hiit, then finished with yoga. Before I knew it, an hour had gone by and my work out was done for the day. I tend to always stare at the clock when I workout but not here. Can't wait to go back again soon for their themed classes!

My wife and I love this place!!! I just finally joined after many Saturday workout dates with my wife. My wife has just completed her 250th class and SPENGA's positive impact on her life is undeniable. Super friendly owners, staff, and trainers who know everyone by name and love to celebrate your health journey. It's a no pressure, do your personal best, help foster one another kind of atmosphere and I never go a class without smiling, laughing, cheering, and clapping. With great tunes that you can suggest through the app, it's like my lunchtime schwetty get-away party. I got hurt taking martial arts, I got hurt at the gym, had to do PT for both. I've yet to do anything but feel great after a SPENGA class because of the perfect mix and perfect amount of spin, strength, and yoga. I never have to pre-plan a workout and think about what I am going to do for the day, how much weight, how many sets, how I'm going to work in stretching. I never have to wait for a bench or machine or tiptoe around some bro as he sets up his phone on a tripod to record his set. Each class is different, fun, and exciting, and I leave feeling that my whole body has been worked out and most importantly properly stretched. I could go on and on and really can't say enough about this place and this approach to exercise. Its amazing and has been a game-changer for me and my wife. Try it for yourself and then tell me I'm not right....

Almost 2 years since I joined Spenga and I have really seen a difference in my body composition due to the strength training. SPENGA is a dream come true! I have tried many exercise places, but the combination of bike, cardio and yoga that SPENGA offers is unique and works best for me. I push myself more during biking and exercise, knowing there will be a peaceful end with a 20-minute yoga session. I have tried a few classes at SPENGA and none of the times I have been sore afterwards which was a usual after-effect with almost every exercise class that I have taken at other places. Love Spenga! I was completely hooked after my first class at this studio. The instructors are all professional and knowledgeable. They explain everything very clearly so you feel equipped in your first session. The environment is fun, challenging and so inviting. I have never seen a workout program incorporate Spin, strength training and yoga all in one class. This is super helpful for those of us who do not take the time to stretch on our own or give time to each aspect of fitness. They keep the studio immaculate and wipe down everything for you once you are done with your workout. I highly recommend Spenga and the North Raleigh studio in particular. Everyone from the front desk to the trainers make you feel welcome and are available to help you in any way.
