After elbow surgery, I struggled to regain the interest in fitness I once had! Then Brick was suggested to me [you know who you are], and I feel like I'm forever changed! Walking through the door is like coming home - even when I'm not at my best, it's a place I want to be!

FINALLY! A gym that I love. Friendly, knowledgeable staff...which I think attracts the right clients. I've been to 7 gyms over the past number of years for one-on-one strength training and this is my favorite. And Kit deserves special praise as a Personal Trainer Extraordinaire. So happy I found Brick.

I started working out at Brick about 10 months ago, and I am so happy with my experience! After taking a break from consistent exercise, I was initially hesitant to return to the gym, but from the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warmth and positivity. The gym is beautifully designed (check out the plant wall), clean, and equipped with top-notch equipment, making every workout enjoyable and efficient.

Erica, the owner of Brick, personally matched me with a trainer and has regularly checked in to see how my sessions are going. My trainer, Alston, has an incredible ability to challenge me when needed and offer encouragement when I need it. This perfect balance keeps me motivated and excited to show up for every session.

I highly recommend Brick and my trainer Dylan Johnson! Brick is a modern, welcoming facility with high quality equipment, lots of natural light and many plants. The studio is conveniently located to downtown right off Wade Avenue and adjacent to Run Raleigh should you have physical therapy needs. The owner Erica is awesome and committed to not only her clients but also her staff. She really cares about everyone there.

I've been working with my trainer Dylan for many years and followed him to Brick. I can't speak highly enough of Dylan who at this point is like family to me. Years ago, I presented him with an average forty something guy who spent most of his time behind a desk at a demanding software company. I challenged him (and myself) to strive towards "50 is the new 40, maybe 35". Over the years, Dylan has coached me into the best health of my life. I'm stronger, fitter and more injury resistant than I've ever been. I've had such a huge return from working out with him just a couple of times a week. Dylan has an infectious personality and is highly knowledgeable at the intersection of strength training, mobility and cardio. I'm a huge fan!

I was specifically looking for one-on-one training focused on my fitness goals of putting lean muscle mass and building strength. A colleague suggested that I try Brick Studio. I have not been disappointed. I have been training there for several months now and am quite happy with my progress. I am especially pleased with the quality of the trainers. They are very knowledgeable and tailor the workouts to facilitate me reaching my goals, while at the same time showing me the correct way to train.

With small group classes, personal training and private gym, there is no excuse NOT to work out. Track your progress through the Bridge app or show up and just move!!! Studio Brick has such great energy. Erica is always happy and helpful and her team reflects the same.

I moved to Raleigh recently and tried multiple gyms in the area. I wanted a place where I was taken seriously regarding my athletic goals but I also really wanted to be part of a community. The group classes at Brick were EXACTLY what I was looking for. The programming is serious, the trainers are WONDERFUL people, and the whole vibe is just so good. My fitness has improved but more importantly I feel part of a gym family.

When I walk into Studio Brick, I feel like I’m walking into a room of friends. Granted, some of those friends (trainers!) are getting ready to make me work harder than I ever have, but always with positivity and encouragement. There are plenty of gyms that say they’re inclusive, but this is the first one that has ever felt that way to me. At Studio Brick, you will see grandmothers, high school & college athletes, people trying to regain their health, dads and sons, marathon runners and many other types - all kinds of people working hard to achieve their goals. Your fitness level, stage of life or physical/medical challenges are not obstacles at Studio Brick. The trainers there “meet you where you are”, and that makes Studio Brick a gym for everyone.

I've tried many different group fitness classes, but I was looking for something with more focus on strength and safety after herniating a disc that required surgery. I'm so happy I found Brick, because it has been the perfect fit! The trainers are awesome at encouraging me to work harder without risking another injury. Great community for group fitness with a personal training mindset!

I've been a member of at least 10 gyms over 30 years. I have finally found the perfect place for me. I participate in the Small Group Classes @StuidoBrick 4 days a week. I have found strength (I can track my progress), structure (amazing programming), friendship (uplifting environment & community), and confidence (encouraging trainers, staff, and members).

My daughter and I joined Brick on the recommendation from my physical therapist. I am an avid runner (jogger), but I was starting to hurt. My physical therapist suggested that being stronger would help my run without injury and pain. No surprise- she was right! I have gotten much stronger and more knowledgeable about my physiology. I'm also starting to feel like I am a "weight lifter!" I never thought I would be bench pressing anything, and now I even feel comfortable spotting others. I attribute my success to Erica's and the other trainers' firm encouragement. They are there to support and guide, so there's no obstacle to doing (not trying) new things. In addition, I am really having fun meeting new people- it doesn't matter where you are on your health journey- we're all there together. And I love the time with my daughter. Thank you to everyone at Brick for all you do and for giving us a space to grow, both physically and mentally!!

Y'all, I have always hated the gym and working out. I have struggled with my weight my entire life, and the gym has always felt like a place for other people and not a safe space for me. I had my intake and initial session with Erica, and I explained that I wanted to focus on strength and overall health, but not the scale. She was incredibly kind, and obviously very knowledgeable. I felt heard and seen.

From there, I was paired with Katina who's been phenomenal. She has good energy and has introduced me to so many movements I didn't think my body was capable of. Even on the days I don't think I have it in me, Katina is super motivating!

(I also worked out with Kit once, and he was great too!)
I'd definitely recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to improve their health and find a safe space.

Erica's training style has been a refreshing change for me in my fitness journey and I'm thrilled that I found this incredible community of people helping people.

Erica and her team run a fantastic gym. It is a very safe environment with state of the art equipment. The camaraderie in the gym is great and the trainers are knowledgeable and push you. I had surgery last year and the trainers gave me modified exercises but kept me on track. I would absolutely recommend this gym to anyone who enjoys pushing themselves.

I love this place!! I have a condition that comes with physical limitations and I’ve avoided exercise and especially gyms for years. But Erica (owner) has truly changed my life by training me in a way that I CAN participate and feel strong. I love it here so much and it’s so especially wonderful for the gym-shy and gym-nervous!!!

Studio Brick has been such a lifesaver! Erica and Kit have been so great in accommodating my medical restrictions while also finding a way to push me to grow stronger and more confident! I had so much anxiety surrounding work out classes and going to the gym because of these restrictions, but having them along side my workouts has put me at ease and allowed me to get back to feeling like myself again. I always look forward to my sessions here!

Absolutely love Brick! Joined to start using the open gym classes to get back to a consistent gym routine. I’m a marathoner and got injured due to inconsistent strength training last year. I started taking classes in my injury comeback and could feel myself getting stronger again. The open gym classes are great for runners and are go at your own pace plus pick your own weight. A trainer is always present to make sure form is correct. Classes are set up to take you through a genuine lift with supersets and rests built in. Workouts are accessible on an iPad or via the phone app. You can see videos of exercises and record your weights for each exercise. You can even see your history to track your progress. Workout takes about an hour or less. The workouts feel like you are getting personal training but in a much more affordable way! All of the equipment is state of the art. So worth it and excited to see how much faster I can get with a consistent runner geared strength program!

Open gym at Brick has been a fantastic supplement to my run training. Before I had an hard time finding a strength program that meshed with distance running. Every trainer I’ve worked with at the facility is patient, knowledgeable and experienced. I was newer to the strength world when I started at brick but never felt out of place. And the strength/conditioning programming is personal to the individual which is difficult to find in group settings. I can’t say enough great things about the team at Brick and I’m so thankful for their support.

Can't recommend training with Kit enough... he makes working out FUN and effective and safe. I have been recovering from a back injury and wanted to transition from physical therapy to strength training to get back into shape. I’ve enjoyed working out with Erica and the team at Brick for the last 10 months. Erica ensures each work out is challenging, but also finds creative ways to modify the exercise if you need it that day. She encourages you during the workout and watches closely to ensure proper form/no injuries. I’ve gotten considerably stronger during my time with her and enjoy every minute I’m in the gym with Erica. Erica is not only a terrific trainer, but a gem of a human. She genuinely cares for our physical, emotional, and mental well being. I cannot recommend Erica enough ❤️

Last year, my wife and I moved to Durham. As a tennis coach and tennis player I decided to enroll into the USTA league after being away from the competition for 5-7 years. During my first singles match, I cramped after 2 hours. During my first states tournament, my body was done after the first day playing a single and a double match. The following year I decided to get fitter. My first goal was to be able to play a full single match without cramps and then I wanted to be able to play a 3 or 4 days tournament.

I started working with Erica this year and because of her tennis fitness experience at the USTA ( United States Tennis Association) I felt like she would understand the demands of the sport and would be able to help me. Since I have started working with Erica, I competed in 3 tournaments and represented my country at the Davis cup event. Not only I didn’t cramp and didn’t get injured, I was able to compete 4 days in row playing in the same day singles and doubles. Erica is a kind, hard working and skillful coach i cannot recommend studio Brick enough. I am looking forward to be fitter in my 40s than I was in my 20s :)

Erica's training has me in the best shape of my life in my mid-40s with her blend of challenge and encouragement. She adjusts nimbly based on anything that's going on with my body on a given day. Erica also programmed workouts for me to do on my own in the gym on weekends where I can see my own progress.

She kicks my butt and cracks me up, often in the same moments, and I leave our sessions feeling exhausted and energized. Go Erica!

I love Brick! They have absolutely transformed the way I think about fitness and a healthy lifestyle. My personal trainer, Mary Holt, does a great job of coaching and pushing me to be my best each and every workout session. She is deliberate in designing a workout routine that fits my needs and fitness goals. She has a great personality and is intentional in getting to know her clients, but pushes me even on days I may try to take it easy. I would highly recommend her for anyone wanting to be healthier or looking to achieve any sort of fitness goal.

I informed Erica during our initial conversation that I would gladly sit thru a Root Canal Procedure than spend an hour training. Well, a year and a half into our training sessions, I don't like to miss any one on one sessions with Erica. If I miss one, I am the one reaching to her to find another time to make it up. I have recently increased my training from twice a week to three times a week. Erica has made my training so much fun while gaining strength that now I look forward to my training time. That is a remarkable transformation that no one in my family can believe it.

I've been working with Erica for over a year now and the difference between my physical health before and now has been phenomenal. I've always been more injury prone and was originally looking to regain my strength while dealing with a nagging IT band injury. Erica's knowledge and workouts have helped me get back to the physical activities I enjoy (and more!). I've had PTs in the past where I was pushed to the point of puking or getting yelled at - Erica is the exact opposite of that! The sessions are tough and tiring, but Erica's wealth of knowledge, positivity, and encouragement help you push yourself sustainably every week without overexerting and injuring yourself. Highly recommend!

I started working with Erica in December of 2021. Since working with her twice a week for 1:1 sessions, I have gotten noticeably stronger and more resilient and become a better, faster and more efficient runner. I’ve run two Boston marathons, each one faster than the one before!, since working with her. She is so in tune with my body and my goals, putting so much thought into my programming to prepare me for the tasks ahead while also prioritizing my health. I have been injury free while pursuing my potential! I also want to note that I am 47, and have been running for almost 25 years, and this is the best I have felt and performed in all that time! In addition to helping me personally, Erica and her trainers work with several of the athletes we coach at Team Pace of Me. Every single one of them benefits from the professional guidance and support they receive. We are all so fortunate to have this resource in our community! I cannot recommend Brick enough!!!!

Erica is an experienced trainer, who works with a variety of athletes and understands the challenges and injuries they face. She is an astute observer of various off-site, downstream effects and muscle compensation and weaknesses resulting from previous injuries. She addresses your injury or concern but also addresses other abnormalities that may have developed as a result, and she helps you recover from both, as she implements a plan that is designed specifically for you. This is personal training at its best. Her knowledge of anatomy and of targetted ways to strengthen different muscle groups will make you a stronger athlete and more confident about what you should be doing on your own to maintain the gains she helps you achieve. Erica's workouts vary regularly, so your challenges advance as your capacitity grows. Workouts are fun and interesting and her explanations are empowering. She also happens to be one of the nicest and most positive people I've met. I cannot endorse her more highly!

I started working out with Erica 8 years ago after seeing the massive improvement she made in my son’s tennis game. I was 50 years old and not athletic, never having played sports as a youth. Her easy going demeanor and positivity gave me confidence to strive towards my goals of improving my fitness level. During these past years I have been one of the older players on the court but because of her strength training I have also been the one with the least amount of injuries. I would highly recommend Erica to anyone who may be hesitant to start a new workout, no matter your age. The BRICK studio is a state of the art training facility and you will feel like a warrior after your workout here!
