Hannah’s class was exactly what I needed! I appreciate her calm energy and voice through the challenging parts of the flow, and it was one of those classes where you’re so in sync with your body that you leave with that “yoga high” 😊 (She also really knows how to safely build a ladder sequence for EVERYONE, which is harder to find than you would think in a teacher). Isabella was also so welcoming and warm. Thanks for making me feel right at home while I’m on the road far from mine! I will be back for sure 💜

Was there 7 minutes after class and was rudely turned away despite no notice and charged a fee. Not really the vibe of yoga and as someone new to the studio wont be returning or recommending

I cannot explain in words how amazing this space is. Everything from the teachers, community, attention to detail, diversity, and cleanliness. Prana class being heated to 85 (excluding summer) gives you the perfect amount of heat, while preventing injuries. Beyond amazing, best studio in charlotte!! I finished YTT here in 2024 and will be a students here for life 🫶🏼💕 and your first class is free!!

This studio is a gem in the yoga community in Charlotte, AMAZING correspondence, very understanding with pricing and last-minute cancellations or moves, and the studio is gorgeous. 10/10 recommend Prana with Ben (which is biased because I haven’t been to everyone yet) for a challenging yet restorative flow.

I’ve been fortunate enough to attend classes at The Coterie since it’s opening and honestly it is the most welcoming and safe place I’ve had the pleasure of going. A yoga studio, yes, with incredible classes and instructors, but also a community to be a part of. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a yoga home, whether you are a novice or advanced- you will be welcomed. Can’t say enough great things!!

I have been at Coterie now for about 3-4 months and absolutely love so many things about this studio.

The environment is welcoming to ALL. Doesn't matter where you are in your journey there is something for you.

I love the studio incorporates weight training into some of the power classes, for a more well-rounded strength/cardio session.

The temperature in the studio is between 80-85 degrees which is just warm enough to keep you sweating just a bit and comfortable during savasana.

Each teacher brings their style, music and personality to the classes.

You will not find a more beautiful, inclusive or amazing place to practice yoga. The studio is gorgeous and the teachers are amazing. There are a range of classes to choose from, a slow relaxing yin ‘Peace’ on Sunday afternoons to Power on Friday mornings. While I unfortunately don’t get to be a regular here due to work travel I can see the community that has been built and it is truly not easy to create that. Caiti is an amazing human who created something very special in this city. If you’ve been thinking about where to start yoga or where to make your yoga home this would be the place.

The Coterie is exactly what I was looking for when I decided to find a yoga studio in Charlotte! It is truly an inclusive space filled with positivity and overall good vibes. Finding an affordable studio seems to be nearly impossible lately, but The Coterie manages to invite everyone in with open arms. The 3 different class formats give variation both between and within themselves. Each instructor has their own flow and energy which keeps classes from becoming repetitive. Classes have become a normal part of my week and are one of the things I look forward to!

The Coterie is a special place. The classes are wonderful and the people are even better! I love the amount of available classes at various times throughout each day. I opt for the early morning classes because it works best for my schedule. Attending these classes has made me a morning person and it is such an amazing way to start the day! I have attended quite a few classes including Prana, Peace, and Power and I have never met a Coterie class or instructor that I didn't love. It's clear that they care about the studio and all of the people who come in to practice. I'm so grateful this place exists! Also, the space is so beautiful and relaxing, I don't have any photos since I try to unplug when I am in there so you'll just have to take my word for it.

I can't recommend Coterie enough!

After I got a skin infection at my last hot yoga studio (🤦) I was looking for a new studio. Coterie offers three types of classes: Power (Vinyasa + mat Pilates + cardio,) Prana (heated Vinyasa,) and Peace (unheated Yin). After I took my first class, I signed up for the unlimited monthly membership. THAT'S how amazing Coterie is. It's now been ~2 months since I started coming here consistently, and here are the standouts from my experience:

1. The studio is beautiful and intentionally designed. Art from local artists is for sale in the lobby and doubles as decor, the showers are cleaned after every use (!!!!!) and products for diverse hair textures is provided. Each shower room has dried eucalyptus and a steamer. The actual workout room, blocks, weights, and straps are cleaned extensively as well between classes.

2. Everyone is SO nice and genuinely cares about the community at the studio. The owner (Caiti) & instructors mostly knew my name within a few weeks - this is obviously not an expectation, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise! From the sliding scale pricing to the real conversations at the studio, the non-judgemental vibes is a total differentiator from other studios.

3. Scheduling classes is very convenient and the split of classes are great. They use the Momence app, which was new to me, but it makes it super easy to book classes and other experiences (ex. a weekend yoga immersion.) And if someone only wants to take Power/Prana/Peace classes, they offer a diverse amount of classes each week that will allow that.

Overall, I definitely encourage everyone to stop by and give Coterie a try at least once! The first class is free and they are available on Classpass as well.

P.S. I forgot to add that the studio room is heated by infrared light and not humid - iykyk!

Can’t say enough good things about this space and the staff! Love that the pricing is affordable, which really speaks to their commitment of building and fostering community. The studio is beautiful, modern, and clean! I’ve been coming for about a month now, mostly to Chloe’s beginner Prana class. That particular class has really helped me not only physically, but mentally as well. She challenges you to try new things and push past your comfort zone, without the feeling of intimidation that can sometimes come with group fitness classes.

Thank you for creating this space that is so welcoming and intentional!

The BEST yoga spot, my only complaint is I wish it was located closer to me!! I didn't think I was a yoga person until I came here!!

They have a big parking lot with additional parking around back. They have a nice lobby with a couch and super cute decor! It smelled sooo good in there and they have some candles for sale as well as some clothing.

They have cubbies to put your belongings. They aren't secured in a locker but I wasn't worried about anything going missing.

They had big bathrooms that were super nice with deodorant and feminine products available. They also had a meditation room, but I never went in there.

The yoga room was spacious with mirrors in the front. The side wall was all windows. I believe most of the classes are hot yoga so they have heaters on the ceiling. I go to the class at 7:00 on Thursdays which is not heated, it was still warm in the room, but not too bad.

Everyone brings their own mat, but I think I read they have some you can rent. They played light music throughout the class.

They have a very diverse group of instructors which is so great, I haven't found many fitness studios like this. The instructor I take from is Abby. She does a great job explaining the positions and what they are good for, she also does a great job with breathing reminders. She has a very calming presence but is also funny and makes you feel comfortable. She is also very knowledgeable. She will come around to help with positions if needed but always asks if there is anyone who would prefer to not be touched at the beginning of class. They also have multiple different types of yoga they offer. I take prana and it really is a great workout, but I never feel like I'm working out.

They have different membership options. I only go once a week, so a membership just didn't make sense for me, but they have a sliding pay scale so you only pay what you can. This is so inclusive and more places need to do this! You can pay from $8-$27 per class depending on what is right for you.

When I leave I always feel so refreshed. Everyone here is so welcoming, open and inclusive and I never feel like I'm being judged! Really really love it here

Absolutely loved this studio and my first class tonight! My friend and I took Peace with Keisha and it was exactly what I needed. I came in with a ball of stress from the day, anxiety at around a 9, and left with my level down to about a 3.

From the moment you walk in the studio, you’re greeted by calming smells from the candles burning (they sell them there!) and nice, relaxing aesthetics. The studio was dim for the Peace class with candles burning - exactly what I wanted! It wasn’t completely dark in the room, which would’ve been my preference, but probably so people can see!

Keisha was such a lovely instructor. Calming voice, good pace, great explanations of poses and modifications or other stretches you could do in that moment. I’m not a yogi by any means so I really was looking for a class that would help my insane anxiety levels and offer some nice stretching.

They have several drop-in and membership options, some of which are on a sliding scale so that yoga can be made affordable and accessible to nearly everyone! I highly recommend checking out this inclusive studio and I can’t wait to go back.

Abby the trainer was amazing and made everyone so included. The studio was so clean, felt relaxing and even smelled good! I was lucky enough to be part of a special event where a violinist was with us in the room. I didn't know a violinist would make such a difference but it did! What an amazing experience to have the soothing sound of a violin in the background while doing Yoga and getting into that relaxing stage of mind. Please give the The Coterie Wellness Studio a try! Even better that's it right next to Midnight Mulligan, so after your workout you can just go grab a beer as long as you don't forget to drink some water ;)

I have been practicing yoga for over a decade now and since living in Charlotte for the past 4 plus years, I have yet to find a 'yoga home.' That has all changed with The Coterie. Absolutely everything about this studio is on point. The space and décor is stunning without being stuffy, the instructors are welcoming (and will challenge you in the best way possible!), and throughout the studio, there are subtle surprises (like hair ties in the bathrooms, all the yoga props and the best dang heating system for the perfect amount of heat without making you want to pass out!) And did I mention the meditation room with free reads? Kudos to the entire team at The Coterie, we are so lucky to call you ours in the Queen City!

This space fills a void that this city has been missing for awhile. It's locally owned, incredibly welcoming and extremely clean. You immediately feel like you belong the moment you're greeted at the door. The classes will make you feel challenged and safe all at once. The teachers guide you through the classes every step of the way and they each bring their own flare to the space. The workouts are created to show you exactly what you are capable of. Thank you for cultivating a space and an environment as special as this one.

Let me first say that this yoga studio is beautiful- from the interior to the wonderful instructors. Everything from the minute I walked in the door to the moment I said goodbye was a wonderful experience for me.
My instructor was clear, kind and super supportive. At no point during my class did I feel judged or rushed. I knew coming in that I hadn't physically worked my body in an active setting since the pandemic and I was very nervous and intimidated. At the end of my class I felt lighter, calmer and overall just- happier. I can't thank this studio and the instructors enough. I loved my experience so much I knew getting out of my class I was going to get a monthly membership. Thank you for all you do and for bringing a safe haven to me and others. I truly can't wait to keep coming and learning to train my body to be healthier and happier!

Finally - an affordable, modern, locally owned studio without set sequences! It's so refreshing to practice creative, fun classes without the repetitive movement of many hot studios. The heat in Prana was a perfect 90 degrees; so you didn't feel like you were going to pass out, but still got your sweat on. From the welcoming vibe to the showers, music and practice space this will definitely be my new go to studio!

Absolute local gem and must try for all levels. Everything is fantastic — from the welcoming community (come as you are!), to amazing teaching staff (each and every one), to the incredible owner, the space she made, and the accessible but *hard* (modifications up or down available and encouraged) diversity of classes. It’s beautifully thought out and worth a visit (or habit!). Plus first class is free! Best yoga in Charlotte by any measure, highly recommend!
